CTI Toolkit remote installation query

Hello,
Our organization is upgrading our UCCE setup from 8.0 to 10.0. Along with this we have to upgrade CTI toolkit desktop used by 3000+ users who are scattered across the globe. We are looking for a weekend cut over from 8.0 to 10.0 and for that we have to upgrade all the CTI Toolkit desktops over the weekend. So I am looking for a solution where I can install the newer version of CTI Toolkit remotely to all the user desktops.
Please let me know if any such solution is available; or anyone has come across such issue and possible solution to this.

Hi,
if by "CTI Toolkit" you mean the CTI OS Toolkit Desktop, then yes, silent install is supported with some limitations.
Actually, this was one of the reaons why my company built a completely web-based agent desktop solution (long before Finesse).

How do I install CS5 on new iMac without a disc drive, if remote installation isn't working?

I purchased CS5 for my laptop (Macbook Pro 2007 I believe) and now have the newest iMac without a disc drive. I have tried remote installation, but it did not work. I attempted to copy the installation files onto a USB and then transfer them, however, the iMac then prompts me to insert the installation cd. How can I install it? Any help is greatly appreciated! I was signed in with download assistant, no just in at adobe.com... I've tried different perferences and settings but when I click on the links nothing seems to happen. I've been messing around with this for a few hours now and it dawned on me that it may have something to do with my internet. I live outside the city- totally nice for gardening, totally terriable for internet thus I have a verizon data plan and not unlimited internet, I think possibly verizon is shutting it down because of restrictions I have on my data. This type of thing also happened when I upgraded to Mavericks. The file itself was larger than my month's data so it seemed like it wouldn't initiate the download... I don't know for sure if it is the same problem here but if you're telling me that you are having more successful results than I am that might be the reason.
I'll take my computer to work or to my mom's house or somewhere where I can have unlimited access and see if I have any better success.

OEM GRID CONTROL REMOTE INSTALLATION

Hello Good People,
I am trying to install OEM GRID CONTROL. I have a two RAC node (AIX 5L). I don't have acces to the server so my only option is remote installation.
I was able to ftp the file into a directory on the server but it will not unzip, (error: couldn't find 10g.zp or 10g.ZIP). I uploaded the file as binary.
Okay, I will like to install from my laptop, (xp) using the DVD that I have. I went through the documentation steps below:
1. Make sure that the remote access software is installed and running on the remote and local computers.
2. On the local computer, share the DVD drive.
3. On the remote computer, map a drive letter to the shared DVD drive. You would use the remote access software to do this on the remote computer.
Through the remote access software, run Oracle Universal Installer on the remote computer. You access Oracle Universal Installer from the shared DVD drive.
I am confuse with step 2 downward. How can I map a drive in UNIX or why should I? I am connected to the sever by Telnet.
Any direction or suggestion will be appreciated. Please note that all I want is to remotely install GRID CONTROL on my server from the DVD that I have.

Based on further researched I discovered that the problem is due to the fact that I don't have an X-Window client install on my local machine. I just install a free trial version (30days). OUI finally started and went through the various checks. Although, the check passed I couldn't continue. It is saying missing some files. I will post the erros messages from the log in a while.

CTI toolkit Agent desktop not starting

Hi
I have recently installed a CTI toolkit agent desktop in my PC but it is not starting and is giving error
"Cisco Desktop client has stpped working"
This is the first time i installed this application in my computer running windows7 64 bit.
the version of cti toolkit is 8.0.1
what should i look for ??

Two things come to mind. First make sure you have the latest version, 8.0.1 doesn't sound like the latest one. Next, make sure you install it as administrator.

CTI Toolkit Agent Desktop Keep on Talking status and hung

We have ICM 7.2(5) and last two days most of the agent CTI toolkit getting greyed-out and keep on showing talking mode only.. please refer the below screen shot and advise the same.

The Autohotkey script at the link Gergely provided is a pretty lightweight solution for this. Autohotkey.com has a lot more information about that software... I've used it before and it's pretty handy. You could potentially create an Autohotkey script that will run the CTI toolkit executable, wait for the window to appear, and then set the "Alwaysonop" property... this would prevent needing to press the Ctrl+Space key combination to turn on the always on top portion.

Is this a bug for CTI Toolkit Agent desktop (Version 7.5.10510)

Today I have found a strange thing with CTI Toolkit Agent desktop (Version 7.5.10510). One agent is logged in on CTI Toolkit agent desktop with his Agent ID (5101) to an extension 999111. Then from other PC another agent is also able to login on CTI Toolkit agent desktop with same Agent ID (5101) to the same extension 999111. Tough they are logged in with same agent ID and extension number from different PC but it is not desired that 2 person can login with same Agent ID and extension at a same time.
Can any one tell me that is this a bug or normal procedure.

this is normal (although it does not seem to follow any logic).
If you want to change this behavior, modify the following registry keys on the CTI OS server:

WDS server configuration: remote installation folder on SMB share possbile?

Hello,
is there a way to use an SMB share for the remote installation folder whichI have to specify during the WDS configuration wizard? If I enter my SMB share I get the following error: 'The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.'
Can the remote installation folder only exist on local storage?

Remote installation option for SAPsetup installation server removed.

Hi all,
I have been using SAPsetup Installation Server for distributing SAPGUI 6.4. Many options with this version, remote installation and Load Balancing to name a couple right within SAPADMIN. I have put the latest version 7.10 on a test server and those options are no longer available. Also I don't even see and upgrade option, am I missing something? Is it possible to use the old installation server to push out the new SAPGUI, if so how?

Hello Jeff,
the installation software for SAPGUI 7.10is completely new and you can't distribute a SAPGUI 7.10 with an Installation Serrver installed with the SAPGUI 6.40 CD.

Remote Installation Not Working

I am wanting to install snow leopard on my 13" Intel Macbook currently running Tiger. Unfortunately, the optical drive is grinding disks so I've tried to do a Remote Installation from a pc running vista. I have "DVD or CD Sharing" enabled on both devices and both connected to the same netword, but no "Remote Disk" option appears in the Macbook's Finder window and when I restart holding "alt" the only option is the Macintosh HD and no bar from which to select a network. Can a remote install be performed on a mac other than the Air? Thanks.

I would give you about the same chances of success with your plan to upgrade your Mac via a PC as that snowball in your know where. Optical drives are dirty cheap now. I think if you replace the optical drive you chances of success would be much greater.

I am wondering about how to create UCCE Custom Reason Codes for CTI Toolkit.
Do we have to assign text to the values which comes from the registry in CTI OS Server?

CTIOS custom reason code should be created in the registry along with their value. For Logout and NotReady you need to create new DWORD value where Name will be the reason code description and value data will be reason code. For wrap -up you need to create a new string value where data value will be the wrap-up description.
Below are the loction where you need to change the registry file.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Ctios/CTIOS_instance name/Server/Agent/ReasonCodes/Logout
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Ctios/CTIOS_instance name/Server/Agent/ReasonCodes/NotReady

Disable Agent Greeing button on CTI toolkit 10.0.1

Hi Community,
Recently we have upgraded our UCCE system to 10.0.1 and I would like to disable Agent Greeting buttons displayed on CTI toolkit 10.0.1; because we are not giving this feature to agents and was not there earlier.
Please help me with the procedure how do I disable these buttons.

Hi Piyush,
There is no way to simply disable this button apart from developing our own customized client desktop.
However if you don't have any configuration associated with the button it doesn't affect anything or perform any action even if the agent click on the button.

What I had installed was CS4 Desin Premium on Win7 64 bit. Pixel bender seems to be installed, but nothing happens when I launch and it doesn't show in Photoshop 32 or 64...

Disable install questions during remote installation of Adobe Pro 9

I am attempting to perform a remote installation of Adobe Pro 9 on various devices located at different sites. By using the Adobe Customization 9 I have configured the installation as I need. The one issue that I can not seem to find a resolution for is: how do I disable the installation questions popping up on the screen when I am conducting a silent installation? I'm assuming there is an option within the Direct Editor to perform this action. Where is it located?
