BR*Tools 7.0 and 7.1 what Instance Client version 10202 or 10204
I'm not sure if this is the wright form, but here goes. I have a question. What Instance Client verion (10.2.0.2 or 10.2.0.4) do you install with BRTools 7.0 and BRTools 7.1. Can you use either Instance Client version with either versions of BR*Tools?

I have a server and 400 clients. What tool/s are available for me to monitor all nodes (401) to see what is happening?
This may include response times, failures, etc. This is a very common question which can be solved by using EEM (Embedded Event Management). Move this thread to the EEM section and you'll solutions there.

Oracle EPM 11.1.2.1 Monitoring tools
Gurus,
could you please let me know what are the available system monitoring or performance monitoring tools for oracle EPM 11.1.2.1 or in case licenses are involved what are the best key areas for manual procedures to monitor the system?
Many thanks !Hello,
Monitoring is a broad term. There are many 3rd party tools available that can provide monitoring, it all depends on what exactly you're looking for.
Oracle has a document on setting up Oracle Enterprise Manager to monitor Hyperion Applications: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/bi-foundation/sys9-oem-integration-1-129287.pdf. For performance monitoring, you can also look at this: https://blogs.oracle.com/pa/entry/epm_11_1_2_how3. This will basically connect to the JRockit JVM and look at the performance for the web application.
If you want to do more monitoring (services, servers, processor, CPU), you can look into Hyperic HQ: http://www.hyperic.com/. They have both an open source version and an enterprise version. I've used the open source version myself and it is pretty good and plays well with Windows. You can see many metrics, graphics and information via the web based application. You can also setup email alerts on certain activities (service stop, service start) and also monitor website availability. For being an open source software, I think it offers alot and it is very reliable.
Again, these are just a few suggestions. There are many tools out there that can accomplish what you're looking for.

Can JWS be used as a multiple Java version management tool?
WinNT4 WKS with JRE 1.3.1 - 1.4.2 loaded on it using IExplorer or Netscape.
We don't have a need for the JWS download features because our clients (and their applications) remain static for the most part. However, we do require multiple JRE version support because our customers have written class/objet "fixes" (mostly for text rendering) and these fixes break if you try and run the application on a different version of Java from which it was written. Basically, we can't have a default JRE on each machine and hope that it will work with all customer applications. So we will load all necessary Java components on our workstations (in this case JRE versions 1.3.1 - 1.4.2). I know that browsers can be forced to load with a specific Plug-in version (providing it exists on the machine) through Object & Embed tags in the HTML and that standalone apps can be directed to the correct Java directory path. My question is, can JWS automatically identify the Java requirements of our customers applications and act simply as a multi-version management tool to provide the right JRE/Plug-In for either standalone or browser applications? Keeping in mind that all the JREs will be loaded on the workstions and it won't need to download any components from some site.
I've noticed that JWS identifies all JREs loaded on a machine in the Java tab so I'm wondering if it can "switch" the environment as needed for each application.
Does anyone know if I can use JWS in the scenario I described above? Thanks!JWS can manage the multiple JREs installed if you run the application through a .jnlp. This can not "switch" the default JRE. It runs the application specified in the .jnlp using the requested version specified in the .jnlp.
JWS does not apply to applets. You should use the object tags as you mentioned below.
...can JWS automatically identify the Java requirements of our customers applications
No. You must determine this and setup the .jnlp appropriately. -
Version control tool for Mac OS X?
Hi all
If using labview on Mac OS X,
do you have some version control tools to recommend?
Thanks a lotAs far as i know, LV for Mac does not integrate with source code control provider. LV for Windows has two requirements for this:
a) Professional Development Environment
b) A source code control provider compatible to the Microsoft Source Interface
There is still always (Mac, Linux and Windows alike) the possibility to control source files using the SCC providers client software.
Many open source project SCCs like CVS or Git integrate, at least in Windows, in the File Explorer.
I recommend you to research possible solutions like this for Mac.
The next question is if you want to use a distributed SCC or a local one. Depending on this, you will have to setup a network server with compatible provider (e.g. RhodeCode).
LV provides both a Diff and Merge tool as EXE (Professional). I am not sure if this is also true for the Mac version, so look for "LVCompare" and "LVMerge".
hope this helps,
Norbert

Java - Weblogic performance monitoring tool
Hi there,
I would like to use a performance monitoring tool for the JVM 1.2.2.x running on weblogic5.1,
I understand this is quite old version of JVM and already EOL. However We are having performance issue needs to be addressed ASAP.
Please advice, many thanks in advance.
- Arun JanarthananFree performance monitoring tool? You can try WebLogic Scripting Tool, you
can download from
https://codesamples.projects.dev2dev.bea.com/servlets/Scarab?id=S13
You can write your own JMX code to get some runtime status from WebLogic as
you want.

Hello,
Might anyone know of a free performace monitoring tool? Just I've used
the monitoring part of Mercury before, it makes nice graphs of memory use.
Is there some free equivalent out there?
Or maybe someone has cooked up some JMX script ?
thanks!

Missing post message in client session monitoring
Hi,
I have synchronized creating a record of a data object, in the message monitoring tool appears that the message is processed correctly but if I look the session at the client session monitoring that message did not appears, would appears as post message, right?
Another question, why in the client session monitoring at session information of a one session appears not sorted the synchronization cycle number or date and time? Can I sorted it?
I'm in 7.10 SP11.
Thanks in advance and kind regards.Hi,
You see only default columns given by SAP. But you can add additional attributes like direction, message type etc., by going to personalization screen. On extreme right of the table top, you see a couple of buttons. One of them is personalization. Click on that and it opens a pop which shows the list of available fields for display on left side and fields which are already displayed on the right side.
You need to select direction and message type from left and move them to right and save and apply those settings for the user. So from next time, it shows the selected attributes.
Coming to your problem, do you see any messages at all in session monitoring? Without giving any filtering criteria just try to search for all of them in the system. See if you get any entries at all. (If still not displayed then you need to enable session monitoring logs).
The timezone difference could be because the system timezone is set to different timezone than of your current.

Installing CTIOS client 7.2 on Vista
I do not know if this is the correct place to post this question...If not I apologize and please direct me to the correct discussion board.
I'm aware of updates and compatible versions however my company does not want to upgrade. I had to reformat my Windows Vista machine and attempted to reinstall the Cisco Systems CTI Toolkit - Agent Desktop 7.2 Software without success. There was a group of contracted Cisco team members that assisted with the installation and they are now gone. They left no documentation on how to install the 7.2 Cisco Systems CTI Toolkit - Agent Desktop on Vista. So, I have two installers the first has: CTIOS Client and second has: Install 2nd-ICM 7.2.6. The first installer installs without issue however the second errors out with message: jre.exe has stopped responding. My machine has the latest version of java installed. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thanks
~ PamelaI don't have the full version on 7.2.....I bought the upgrade only from 6. however since 6 was made not for the new Universal binary Intel chip I am not sure if I could go that route.

Which Performance Monitoring Tool is good for Weblogic?
Please advise me on good performance monitoring software. Budget is no issue.
A typical performance monitoring tool has:
Server monitoring
Application server monitoring
Database monitoring
Web services monitoring
Virtualization monitoring
An example is ManageEngine's Applications Manager
currenty, I want to monitor:
1 - BEA Weblogic server 8.1
2 - Oracle 9i Rel 2
Once I can identify the bottlenecks, recommendation for hardware / software upgrade can be made easily.
Thanks. Thanks Faisal, I will evaluate this product if full functional trial version is available.
so far I have come to know about these tools:
Applications Manager
up.time
Still not sure which one brings more value to the business.

Yasar

The Dreamweaver client version does not match this version of the BrowserLab client
Cannot use BrowserLab
I have followed the upgrade instructions on this page
http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/browserlab.html
Deleted the MeerMeerDW folder, downloaded and installed the latest MXP files.
But when I try to use BrowserLab from Dreamweaver after program loads error message says
"The Dreamweaver client version does not match this version of the BrowserLab client.
Please download and install the latest version of the Dreamweaver MXPs"
I have tried several times, even tried removing the extensions from Extension Manager, quiting the program,
deleting the MeerMeerDW folder, restarting Extension Manager and reinstalling the MXPs, then starting Dreamweaver
and trying the Preview in Browser>Adobe BrowserLab. Same problem, program loads and then get error message.
Macintosh OS 10.5.8
Dreamweaver CS4
Extension Manager CS4 (2.1.115)Hello toni7,
I'm sorry to hear you're having problems. Are you prompted to replace the existing extensions when performing the installation? The error message you are receiving when using the service is expected if the new versions of the extensions are not installed.
What is the version number of the extensions displayed in Extension Manager?
Are you deleting the MeerMeerDW folder in the user library prior to installing the new version of the extensions? And just to be sure, are you logged in as the same user? [(user)\Library\Application Support\Adobe\CS4ServiceManager\extensions\MeerMeerDW]
Do you have more than one MeerMeerDW folder at the path above?
Also, be sure that all adobe applications are closed before trying to install the new extensions. I would also make sure that CS4ServiceManager, Extension Manager and Dreamweaver are not running when you delete the MeerMeerDW folder and prior to installing the updated extensions. Go to Applications\Utilities\Activity Monitor and Quit Process on any of those three running prior to installing.
It's critical that the MeerMeerDW folder is manually deleted, rather than removed using Extension Manager before updating the extensions.

Set iCal client to refresh each minute
12 Read/Write Delegates for each of 13 workstations. (so, we're really expecting a lot, but not a lot, like in, we expect Exchange/Outlook robustness -- on open standards woo hoo)
But yeah, the main symptom is that the ical client loses it mind (at some as yet undetermined interval) and stops refreshing. And the formerly trusting Calendar user, misses a meeting, because the change the delegate made to their calender didn't refresh and the Calendar user shows up an hour late, or misses the event entirely. That won't work.
OK. back to what I've tried. (I haven't tried, but am considering it, moving to PHD)
I have turned off PUSH. I hope that returns some server processing cycles.
I have ( and this fixes it temporarily ) set their refresh frequency to manual. Close Prefs. Open Prefs, set back to 1 Minute. Close prefs. And that holds for a day (?) two days (?) I haven't gotten that far yet. I did that last night. And it saved me from having to remove and add the network calendar account. So, my remedy is down to about 40 seconds and 10 mouse clicks. Still annoying, and should work properly.
Apple Enterprise support is being awesome. They send me the engineering capture tool and I am awaiting the symptom return. Then I run that app and it gobbles up lots of logs on an affected client workstation and the server. So, wish me luck, and send any thoughts or ideas along. This looks like a bug in the iCal client. I, too, have had problems with delegated calendars and end users mistaking events for being missing, not updated or incorrect only because their local copy was not synced with the true copy on the server. The refresh rate on delegated calendars can be changed with the "Refresh calendars: [ Every 1 minute ]" preference. You can verify this by right-clicking or control-clicking on the delegated calendar and choosing "Show CalDAV Queue." This brings up a queue of activity with the iCal Server. You'll note at the top that it mentions "Refresh every 1 minute."
The problem, of course, is if you quit iCal and recheck the "Show CalDAV Queue" on the delegated calendar, the refresh interval has reverted to some long interval like 300 or 900 minutes. This is a bug, for sure. For now, you can tell your clients not to quit iCal or to refresh manually or reset the refresh interval whenever they restart iCal/their computer, etc. -
Available resource monitoring tools
Hi,
Hi I'm evaluating my option to monitor resource utilisation by domains. The categories I'm interested in are CPU, Mem, Disc and I/O utilisation. What monitoring tools exist? Searching the web, I've seen Without having access to an oracle server, yet, the resource categories of sample output of 'xm list' I've seen so far only contained CPU and mem utilisation but not any I/O (disk or net). Is this correct? And what options have I got to monitor these resources as finely as possible?
Best regards and thanks for your helpWould you like to perform the monitoring from control domain or guest domains? If you do the monitoring inside guest domain, then I guess you can use SNMP tools for the job. I've used Orca and SEtoolkit inside guest domains (they don't use SNMP) but they are a bit outdated for that use. You might also take a look at Zabbix.
I don't know what tools exists for collecting information from control domain (which would require less work and less installed clients etc.). Maybe some custom scripting with SNMP.
