CTL + ENTER to test SWF, NOT WORKING?!?!

When I hit CTL + Enter to test my movie in Flash Professional CS6/CC all that comes up is a white stage. If I go to: File > Publish Preview > Flash, it works fine.
Why does one run while the other doesn't?
I have all the latest Flash Software and players, fresh clean installs. Only doesn't work with this one function....

@ Dilipr - It happens any fla I am running.
@ kglad - It doesn't say anything. it pops up the test stage just as if I am running a publish preview. It just ends there with a blank white screen.
However... I did more work yesterday and needed to work in a document for AIR. Under AIR publish settings, the test movie works with CTL + ETR. Seems to only happen with new files set for just AS 3? Haven't tested other settings...

SWF Not Working...Help Please :(

So I've been having an issue with a SWF not work on a page and this is what I can seem to come up with after hours of messing with Dreamweaver and Flash trying to understand why it won't work. When i test the movie from the working Flash file, it works no problem. Something is going wrong when I export or publish the movie and it no longer works. Is this something that happens?
Your help is much appreciated...this site needs to go up in the next day or so and the SWF was working and then stopped working and I'm honestly not a Flash gal so I really have no business messing with it, but it was a specific request. Thanks!

One thing that might be an issue as far as the web page goes it that the html specifies a file named carousel2.swf which does not appear to exist on the server and is not the same name as the file you are calling the swf in your swf link (*carousel3.swf).
Without knowing what goes on inside carousel3, or carousel 2 for that matter, it's hard to say if it is missing the xml file that it might need. But for either case, are you certain that you have uploaded the xml file that is needed?

Thanks for contacting National Instruments. It would help us out a lot if you could specify exactly what is not working. Will the sequence just not run? Is it giving you an error message? Or what exactly does not work about it? The initial thing that I could think of that would make it not work in External Instance but not using the RunTime Engine is that you might be missing a support library when trying to run it in this configuration. If you click on the "Configure Auto-Loading of Support Libraries Needed for Linking .objs and .libs" button, you can make sure that all the support libraries you might be using are added in this list (you can add them using the "Add Other Libraries..." button). If this does not fix your problem, then let us know a litt

Conext Sensitive Help Test Tool Not Working

I have been trying to test my map files with the context-sensitive test tool, but am unable to get it working. I am running TCS 3.5 on Windows XP Pro.
I created a map files for Java in the project file and then created several test links with Map IDs. I am working with an offline WebHelp system on my C drive. I open the CSH Test Tool and located the index_csh.htm file for the WebHelp help system and then choose the Map Number. But when I click "Show Help," nothing appears. The hourglass comes up for a brief instant, as if it's going to load the page, but then nothing happens.
Can anyone help?

However, I was reading a bit more of the information on your site, and am still unclear why the deafult RH CSH Tester would not work. I was only using map numbers. Very frustrating.
I also had a few other questions, since this is the first time I'm creating a mapping file in RH:
- Is there any way to batch test? Or, if the icons appear blue (indicating they are correctly linked) in the Edit Map IDs dialogue box, can I just use your C# API to test a few and assume that they others are also working?
- Is this API set to open up the pages in IE by default? Mine is doing that, but I wasn't sure if it was your app or my computer settings. I'm in an corporate environment where we are supposed to use IE as the default browser, although I have FF installed, too. It keeps opening an IE window with a security message that says JavaScript is not supported and I have to click the bar at the top to allow ActiveX controls to work. I'm pretty sure that last part is a security setting I can't change here, but not so sure about the default browser choice.
-I haven't downloaded your API testers in other languages. Are they all the same with the difference just being language preference for the person testing it, or do some of them offer more functionality?

SWF. not working when entering other state

I have just made a site where theres a main site without animation and a sub site with animation. The problem is that the animation/swf is not starting when i enter the subsite. It starts when theres no main site but when we enter the site from a another main site/sub site the animation the do not start.

This might be a security issue. If I am understanding what you are say is you go to www.mysite.com then go to mysubsite.mysite.com. When you are accessing the Flash Catalyst produced swf at mysubsite.mysite.com this way it does not work. In the Flash Catalyst file, the linked swf is probably referenced as "http://www.mysite.com/mySWF.swf", but to the Flash Player this is a different address from mysubsite.mysite.com.
If you add a crossdomain.xml file to your site to include the top level and sub domains, the issue should be resolved. For more information on the crossdomain.xml file: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/142/tn_14213.html

Published SWFs not working from CS3 on Mac?

This one REALLY has me stumped..
I am working on a Mac Dual 2-Gig G5 running OS 10.4.10 and
Flash CS3.
I have a web site for a client posted (

). This site has been running flawlessly for over a year published
to Version 8 Flash Player AS v2.0. This client asked me to create a
new temporary splash page last night that would announce his new
Art Show and then click on into the main site. This site uses a
Shared Lib, a SharedTrigger, a Core SWF (containing the main site
navigation elements and handles loading of various movies into
levels) and a Splash SWF (that contains the two splash screens and
initial navigation to areas of the site. The problem I THINK I am
having is in the Splash SWF... or is a problem with my LOCAL Mac
installation? When I click one of the 5 Site Nav buttons it is
supposed to tell the main core movie to advance to a new frame (20)
and I target that movie by referring to _level0. This has worked
fine for the past year (on this and other sites). I am attaching an
example of the code used on each of the initial Nav buttons in the
Splash swf .
So here is the mystery...
When I "Test Movie" inside Flash CS3, everything works/looks
"perfect". If I then go to the desktop and find the generated HTML
file and open it in Safari (both version 2 and 3-beta), or Firefox
or Opera, etc., everything looks fine until I click one of the
initial text Nav Buttions. At that point it takes me to the main
site and loads the external SWF into a level as it should
(indicating that the 3rd line of code on the button is execution
and by the fact the the Splash movie disappears, it indicates that
the core movie is indeed moving to frame 20 (_level0) as requested
in the first line of code. However, all of the main site navigation
buttons along the bottom of the main site as well as the background
NEVER APPEAR? Also when I start to move the mouse around the loaded
external movie the site completely crashes and I get a blank screen
- IN ALL BROWSERS whether I am launching the site from my hard
drive or the Internet!! But it works perfect INSIDE Flash CS3.
Now comes the real kicker...
Just for the heck of it after spending 3 hours trying to fix
this on my main G5 tower(publishing to Player version 9, etc.), I
decided to try accessing the site from my old G4 laptop. Ready for
this? The site appears to be working perfectly IN ALL BROWSERS ON
MY G4 also running 10.4.10!!!
So my guess is maybe their is a problem with the Flash Player
Plugin in all my browsers on my G5 or the Flash Plugin has a
problem with OS 10.4.10 only on my G5. BUT, even if I launch this
site directly in Flash Player from the desktop on my G5 it does not
work - so the stand-alone player is having the same issue - yet it
works fine on my G5 INSIDE of Flash CS3.
I thought I had seen it all the last 5 years with Flash, but
this one has be completely stumped!
My client emailed me from California and said the site was
working fine there of his PC. If that is true then I am having a
LOCAL Flash Player problem on my G5 running 10.4.10.
In addition to my question, if anyone can give me feedback as
to whether or not this site is working on your machine/browser/OS,
could you please let me know? You will know if the site is working
if you click on Enter Site, then click on any of the 5 buttons
(except Info) and you see a grey background behind the image and
the lower navigation string appears.

Well after trying everything I could think of I started down
the list again. I re-downloaded the Flash Player 9 r47 Mac
installer and ran the installer again (which I also did last night
with no success).
This time after re-installing the plugin - ALL THE BROWSERS
IMMEDIATELY STARTED WORKING ad the site now comes up fine - so,
apparently I had a bad Flash Player install in my browser!

Preloader in external swf not working

I have several external SWFs that are loaded into my site and
each one has a preloader. When I run them by themselves the
preloader works fine, but when it is embeded into the main SWF the
preloaders do not work. Any ideas?

Enter and shift keys not working. HELP!!!

A few days ago my mouse started behaving erratically all of a sudden. It would move by itself, click apps, and switch tabs rapidly all on its own. I've had this computer for over 2 years and this has never happened before. Restarting and rebooting into safe mode didn't work, but one user suggested a PRAM reset and that fixed the mouse problem. However, my enter and shift key on the right side do not work now (this is much less annoying than the mouse problem, but still very inconvenient!). Restarting the computer and doing another PRAM reset doesn't work unfortunately. I also used the keyboard viewer to confirm that all but those two keys work. I don't think the issue is with keyboard lint because both keys worked fine before I tried the reset. Booting up in safe mode also doesn't fix the problem. It would be great if I could find a way to fix this here since I won't be able to go to an Apple genius bar until December!

The troubleshooting detailed below may help restore functionality to your MacBook Pro's keyboard.
Some keys don't work as expected
From the Apple menu, choose System Preferences.
From the View menu, choose Speech.
Click the Text to Speech tab.
If "Speak selected text when the key is pressed" is enabled, the key or key combination set to speak text cannot be used for other purposes or used to type text--click Set Key and change it to a less-commonly used key combination (try to use modifier keys such as Shift, Command, Option, and Control). Or, disable the "Speak selected text when the key is pressed" option.
Click the Accessibilty or Universal Access pane in System Preferences, then click the Keyboard tab.
Make sure that Slow Keys is turned off. With Slow Keys on, you need to press a key for a longer period of time for it to be recognized.
In the Accessibilty or Universal Access pane, click the Mouse tab, and make sure Mouse Keys is turned off. With Mouse Keys enabled, you cannot use the Numeric Keypad to enter numbers--instead the keypad moves the pointer (cursor). (There is an option to enable Mouse Keys with five presses of the Option key; you may want to turn that option off to avoid accidentally enabling it.) If Mouse Keys is enabled and you are using a keyboard with no numeric keypad or Num Lock function, see Unable to type while Mouse Keys is enabled in Mac OS X.
If the function keys on the top row of the keyboard are not working as expected, see Mac OS X: How to change the behavior of function keys.
If the issue persists, use Keyboard Viewer to help isolate the issue:Start from the Mac OS X Install Disc, choose Terminal from the Utilities menu and test the keys which were previously not working. If the keys work while started from the Install disc, then the keyboard itself is working correctly. Use How to troubleshoot a software issue to isolate the software issue that may be causing the keys to not respond.
Click the Language & Text pane (Mac OS X v10.6) or International pane (Mac OS X v10.5.8 or earlier) in System Preferences.
Click the Input Sources tab (or Input Menu tab in Mac OS X 10.5.8 or earlier).
Click the Keyboard & Character Viewer "On" checkbox to select it (click the Keyboard Viewer "On" checkbox in Mac OS X 10.5.8 or earlier).
From the Input (flag) menu, choose Show Keyboard Viewer.
If the keyboard is connected and detected by OS X, the keys you type will highlight in the Keyboard Viewer window. Open TextEdit (or any text application), and try to type something using the keys that were previously not responding to see if they highlight in Keyboard Viewer.

Updating my .ipa in DPS App Builder for testing is not working

I've build my .ipa file in DPS App Builder for testing on my iPad before I publish it to the app store. No problem. I tested it and saw some modifications to make. I made the changes on my folio, updated it in the folio builder of indesign (on the cloud). Then I get back to DPS App Builder and rebuild an .ipa file from the "Manage" and "Modify" windows, it download and test my certifates, seems to work ok. Then I've created the new .ipa file (after erasing the old one on my desktop and iTunes) but when I synch it back on my iPad it's not updated. It's still the first version of my folio without the changes.
I tried to create a new app from the beginning but the single edition serial number does not work anymore. So my only solution is to update my folio, right? But what is the right way to do it? Am I missing something? I didn't find any answer in the step by step guide about that.
Or is it possible to delete completly the first version in DPS App Builder to recreate it without losing my single edition serial number as I didn't submit it to Apple yet?
Do I have something to do in the Folio Producer?

Single Edition Serial is one time use thus modification is not possible from your end directly in case you wish to use the same serial number. For such cases you need to contact DPS Support, who can get an approval on a serial number reset after reviewing the need.

PHP Local Testing Server Not Working!

I've just set up my PHP local testing server, although its not working properly! If you could help that would be so wonderful!
Here is my current settings:
Local Site Folder: C:\XAMPP\htdocs\valsoo\
Web URL: http://localhost/valsoo/
Server Folder: C:\XAMPP\htdocs\valsoo\
Local/Network
Server Model: PHP MySQL
I'm testing the 'local testing server' with a file called site_check.php which works in the Local Site Folder root (C:\XAMPP\htdocs\valsoo\site_check.php) but fails to work when the file is within folders (C:\XAMPP\htdocs\valsoo\lesson01). Not all files work in the root either. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

If site_check.php works, your local testing server is working.
What do you mean when you say that it fails to work when the file is in a folder, such as lesson01? What actually happens? What sort of files don't work in the root? Without more details, it's impossible to help.
If site_check.php is in C:\XAMPP\htdocs\valsoo\lesson01, you should be able to access the file through http://localhost/valsoo/lesson01/site_check.php.

Swf not working in flash

Everyone says if we readjust settings in Flash, the swf will work locally. This is not occurring. In InDesign, they check fine. Loading them on a server would be nice but I don't have one outside the router. I do have LAMP working this side, on a laptop but am not sure what I'm doing there. I still think it is a security setting or a bug. Any clues? This is the final week in class. I'd like to keep my 4.0.

I am having Flash Player 9 on my PC and both files work fine
with me. Try to reinstall Flash Player and see what will happend ,
and make sure that you do not have more than Flash Player version
on your Computer.

SWF not working in DMP-4305G ??

Hi all
I have created a simple SWF file, which just display a Helloworld text only
Save it as .swf with Flash player version 7
I have uploaded the swf to a web server. i.e. http://192.168.1.100/test.swf
In the Cisco Digital Media Play Device manager > URL to be displayed
the URL is: http://192.168.1.100/test.swf
after I press the "Go" button, the DMP respond the following error message.
/tmp/ftproot/usb_1/.tmp/kxext14n.swf could not be saved because the source file could not be read
Am I missing any config?

If you uploaded the file to the server it shoule be visible in the DMM so in the Presentation editor you can add a video playlist, then add it via the content manager...Right?

War file deployment to Test env not working
