CTM 8.5 install

I'm trying to install CTM 8.5 on an HP Proliant DL-360 G4 with Solaris 10. Nothing else has been installed besides Solaris. I cannot seem to even get Oracle installed let alone CTM 8.5 is there an install for dummies guide?

Hi Chris,
Please noted that the specification said:
Sun Solaris 10, release 11/06, on a Sun SPARC-based server
T2 processor on Sun Solaris 10, release 5/08
T2 processor is also SPARC, where SPARC is not Intel (x86) processor, it is a RISC processor(http://www.sun.com/processors/UltraSPARC-T2/).
HP servers (DL) are using Intel processor, AKA x86.
Also, Solaris supports two platforms, x86, and SPARC (http://www.sun.com/software/solaris/specs.jsp). Please take a look at the platform section.

  • CTM run ends up system exception error message

    Hi
After starting "planning run" from CTM profile i'm getting the error message: "Destination address and application CTM were not found in Customizing as an active entry".
There was thread already with same issue, but it was closed without proper answer.
CTM run ends up with error message
Could someone please offer any advice on what can be done here.
    Thanks
    Venkatesh

    Hi Venkatesh,
Please check in your CTM settings if the CTM is correctly installed.
For this you can take help from Basis or got to TX-SM59 -> TCP/IP connections and there you will see your Optimizer server , test the connection once.
Let me know if this helps.

Two workarounds below (Not acceptable solutions)
*I can add a pause script after Setup Windows and ConfigMgr sequence, wait 5-10 minutes and the applications will install. I assume this is because the CM client has time to fully provision.
    * I can add the anon ‘IUSR’ account to the local administrators group on the DP and all applications install (without the pause script mentioned above). I can reproduce the issue repeatedly by removing and adding the anon account.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated…
Also, I come from a CM 2007 background and somewhat new to CM 2012. Should WebDAV and/or URL Authorization be installed and configured on the DP? According to MS tech support “No”. However, I’ve seen several SCCM 2012 guides on the web that say it should
    be installed.
    Regards
    David K. Harrison

Locationservices.log, CIDownloader.log, CIagent.log, DataTransferService.log also need to be checked. We need to find out what credential the Client trys to use when it downloads content from DP.

  • Are you unable to install iTunes 10 on your windows 7 64 bit platform?

Ok, I was having the same issues and tried uninstalling all Apple software. When I tried to uninstall the Apple updater it gave me the same message about something missing. So I right clicked on it in the uninstall window and clicked repair instead. I installed iTunes again and had no issues.
    Hope this helps!!

If the command-line you gave ConfigMgr runs successfully, there's not anything else ConfigMgr can do. Thus the logs above don't add any value. Thus, the issue lies with the MSI. Where did you get it from? Have you tried running it with the /l*v command-line
option to add verbose logging and then reviewed this log file? Have you tried manually testing using the System account (done using psexec) to more closely emulate how ConfigMgr invokes the command-line?

    Hi Mate,
Its really difficult to do get the installed date of the patches as there is no table available in SCCM  DB to pull this info i had a requirement in the past but i was unable to do had done it via work around.
This can be done after editing of sms_def.mof file or else using the power-shell script in windows server 2008 where the powershell is a feature by default.
    H/W inventory:
For the 2000 servers this has to be installed but if we enable this its mentioned it may utilize upto 100 % of the Memory during the h/w inventory you can check that in your SMS_DEF.MOF  -
QuickFixEngineering you can see the warning.uickFixEngineering
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/279225/en-us
    Powershell script:
    http://msmvps.com/blogs/richardsiddaway/archive/2011/10/23/1760058.aspx
the warning for the quick fix engineering is not there on 2012 but there on 2007 hope the info help you to achieve your output.

  • CTM 8.0 Solaris 10 Sparc-64 Installation Problems

I am installing CTM 8.0 on a Solaris 10, Sparc 64 Sun Server/Workstation. I am having a problem installing the CTM, I installed Oracle 9i with no problems(that I know of) with patch 9.2.0.8. When I go to start the ctmsetup.sh it checks for the latest version of JRE, which is fine, however it says that I don't have the Solaris patches for JRE and it lists them. Well the patches I have are more up to date then those listed so when I tried to install the patches they listed it said that they were obsoleted by what I have already. Secondly it gives the message "Starting Cisco CTM Server Installation using Install Anywhere" but then the next line says "You pressed Cancel/Upgrade/Install" when I hadn't pressed anything, and it just stays there. Your help is much appreciated.
    Thanks!

Hi, how you setup oracle 9.2.0.8 patch?? I tried
    cd /oraclesw9i/Disk1
./runInstaller -silent -responseFile /oraclesw9i/patchset_64bit_9208.rsp but, with key -silent i have an error: cannot communicate with X server, on my WinXP workstation?
    echo $DISPLAY > myws:0.0

  • LMS 4.2.2 virtual appliance fresh install : DCR Server Error

    Hello,
I have installed a new version of LMS 4.2 on virtual appliance (VMware 4.1) and I have an issue.
When I go the "Device Administration --> Manage Device State" I have the following error :
    Server Error
    Error
Error in communicating with DCR Server. For more details click here.
DCR Server may be down. Please start the DCR Server and then refresh the page.
Following the details link I have : (I did all the check written below).
    DCR Server Error
The communication error may be due to the following reasons:
The DNS resolution does not match with server assigned IP Address. Workaround: DNS resolvable IP Address should be same as server IP Address. DHCP is enabled in the server. Workaround: DHCP should be disabled in the server. The server’s original IP Address may have changed. Workaround: Restart Cisco Prime Daemon Manager. CTM registry corruption has occurred due to rebooting the server without stopping the Cisco Prime  Daemon Manager. Workaround: Delete the ctmregistry and ctmregistry.backup file in  NMSROOT/MDC/tomcat/webapps/cwhp/WEB-INF/LIB and then restart the Cisco Prime Daemon  Manager. DCR Server and related process might be down. Workaround: Check the processes to make sure DCR Server is running, and restart it if not. The hostname change is not done by the hostnamechange.pl in LMS. Workaround: Hostname change should be done using NMSROOT/bin/hostnamechange.pl in LMS. LMS self signed certificate would have been expired. Workaround: Regenerate the certificate and restart the daemon manager.
I try to reinstall LMS 4.2 with or without patches 4.2.1 and 4.2.2 I always have the same problem. The DCR server process is running.
Here the result of the show application status LMS in SSH :

    Regards,
    Abel

    Hi Afroz!
    Thanks for the quick reply!
    1) I checked files - and indeed, the third link of the file was empty.
I restored contents of the same test server (as an attachment - original files) - now everything is working fine. Many thanks for your advice!
Because of what could this happen?
Current settings are as follows (i did not change them):
    [lms42/root-ade etc]# ls -la /opt/CSCOpx/MDC/tomcat/shared/lib/ctm_config.txt
    -rw-r--r-- 1 casuser casusers 1037 Jul 22 13:54 /opt/CSCOpx/MDC/tomcat/shared/lib/ctm_config.txt
    [lms42/root-ade etc]# ls -la /opt/CSCOpx/MDC/tomcat/webapps/cwhp/WEB-INF/lib/ctm_config.txt
    -rw-r--r-- 1 casuser casusers 1084 Jul 22 13:54 /opt/CSCOpx/MDC/tomcat/webapps/cwhp/WEB-INF/lib/ctm_config.txt
    [lms42/root-ade etc]# ls -la /opt/CSCOpx/MDC/tomcat/lib/ctm_config.txt
    -rwxr-xr-x 1 casuser casusers 1104 Aug 20 12:07 /opt/CSCOpx/MDC/tomcat/lib/ctm_config.txt
    2) It was also noted that if address on the link "Inventory>Device Administration>Discovery>Schedule", then an error message appears:
    Error
Error in getting the Discovery configuration information, please configure Standard / Custom Discovery and start the schedule.
    - no any records for Discovery Schedule and not accessible button Add (for add new Discovery Jobs).
    This is related errors?

  • SCUP2011 - SCCM2012 SP1 CU4: 3rd party updates fail to install with SoftDistHashMismatchEvent

We publish 3rd party updates like Adobe Flash, Shockwave, Firefox with SCUP 2011 into WSUS.
These 3rd party updates are imported/synchronized into our SCCM 2012 SP1 (CU4) environment and deployed to the clients/servers.
But all of these 3rd party fail to install. Software Center returns the following error: The software change returned error code 0x80091007(-2146889721).
The standard Microsoft Updates are downloaded and installed without any error.
The 3rd party updates are downloaded by the client, but are deleted after checking the hash because of a hash mismatch (SoftDistHashMismatchEvent).

The strange thing is that 3rd party updates are downloaded/installed succesfully when using the Windows Update Control Panel applet, while WSUS and SCCM2012 are installed on the same server!
Our environment uses PKI only for communication/authentication, because we manage multiple untrusted networks
All servers are virtual servers (VMWare ESXi 5.5) with Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 + latest updates.
I already performed the following trouble-shooting tasks without any success:
    - I reinstalled the different Site System Roles.
    - Removed the SCCM client from the SCCM database and client and reinstalled
    - Removed the anti-virus software
    - Redeployed the 3rd party updates
    - Replaced the E1000 NICs with VMXNET3 (server and client)
    - Ensured no proxy between server and client
    - Downloading and installing the 3rd party updates manually from the specified download locations
      (e.g.
    http://sccm.mydomain.local:8530/Content/32/04B9361CDC426D2DBC94B90A7BB0172CAE84D532.cab or
    http://sccm.mydomain.nl/SMS_DP_SMSPKG$/fea1aeb3-af1a-45aa-b464-4f90422b4720) succeeds without a error.
    I really don't know what's going wrong.
    Is it a bug?

    Hi,
I recommend that you try uninstalling the following KB’s.
Run the following command to uninstall:
    wusa /uninstall /kb:2735855 /quiet /norestart
    wusa /uninstall /kb:2750841 /quiet /norestart

  • Unable to alter /tmp directory during Weblogic 10.3.3 install

I am installing on a 64 bit Linux server and each time I run the following command I get the message 'No space left on device'. Doing a df -k on Unix gives me /tmp at 100% full. I tried to change the path for the /tmp but it has not worked.
    Any ideas please?
    java -d64 -jar wls1033_generic.jar -Djava.io.tmpdir=/proj/db01/software/tmp -log=/proj/db01/software/install_wls_4.log

3/ I am using a 'Generic Package installer—This type of installer is a .jar file.' Using this as Java is already installed on the server using JDK 1.6. Am trying to install it using a xterm Unix session in graphical mode. This jar file seems to be the only option for a 64 bit Linux.
    Thanks,
    Pauline.

  • Instalation server patch distribution problem

    HI!
I have set up an instalation server for GUI 7.10, and included both the GUI and BI components. I have patched them both with patches SAP GUI 7.10 patch level 3 and BI patch level 1 respectively.
The patching completes succesfully, NWSapSetupAdmin application shows that the patches are applied, but when the GUI is installed to a user machine, only the GUI patch is applied, and not the BI patch.
Am I doing something wrong, or is it impossible to distribute this patch via the instalation server?
    Thanks,
    A

Yes the client do have a correct certificate.  If I change the boundary to point to a Server 2012 or Server 2008 Distribution Point they pull content without issue.  When I change the boundary back to a Server 2003 DP they start getting "Access
    Denied" once again.
The CAS log looks similar to the ContentTransferManager log in that it reports the link as HTTP instead of reporting it correctly as HTTPS like in the DataTransferService log.  Its just not consistent and I have verified that you can't even access the
site through standard HTTP, it errors saying you must use a secure channel (HTTPS) and I am able to browse the site just fine as HTTPS.
A few entries from the CAS log are below:
    CContentAccessService::NotifyDownloadProgressEx - downloaded size -2, total size 0 ContentAccess
Location update from CTM for content Content_be7aaec1-0fb3-4c51-8f12-5adb0673b44e.1 and request {293F5F55-5C9B-4E83-A442-B0A930EE447C} ContentAccess

    Download location found 1 - http://SERVERNAME/SMS_DP_SMSPKG$/Content_be7aaec1-0fb3-4c51-8f12-5adb0673b44e.1 ContentAccess
