CTM min max lot

Hello,
In CTM , we want to create lots with Minimum and Maximum lot size as in Product / Location master and/ or Transaportation lane.
This setting is done in CTM profile. ( Use : Lot size) and in Product Location master.
A typical scenarios is like :
Product         Min Lot         Max Lot
A                   5 days        12 days
B                   3 days           5 days
If CTM plans with daily capacity : 500 on one resources.
Based on the demand, CTM should plan the daily qty considering the Min Max lot.
If A has a demand of 300, system should planned for 5 days production ( 2500 ).
Its observed that if we put Min lot size more than 500 (daily capacity), CTM does not plan at all.
Is there any setting so that CTM will consider the Min Lot size in more than 1 day, as per the requirement.

Hi,
CTM uses all lot sizes in the location product master except the periodic lot size and the reorder point method. However, CTM uses the lot sizes only for the main output product and not for input products and co-products. For demands in make-to-order production, CTM does not consider lot sizes.
If you are checking it at input product it doesnt work.

Min max lot size time based for use with SNP and PPDS

Hi all, Is there anyway to set up time based min and max lot sizes? ie we want to have a Max lot size which is small for use with the first 3 months of our plan which starts life in SNP and then converts to PPDS and into blocks for block planning, but months 4 to 36 we want to leave as large max lot sizes as there is no need to have the small max lot sizes for the different horizon.
As far as I can see there is only a material/plant lot size and Max lot size and no way to have a different setting in a different time period.

As you know, in the product master, the lot size maintenance is time-independent, so that obviously can not be used for your scenario. As per my understanding, to meet this using standard functionality, you can maintain multiple product specific t-lanes (for STRs) and PDSs (planned orders) with required lot size ranges and validity dates (for short or long term horizon). But, again since the validity of t-lanes and PDSs will not be automatically rolling forward so the updating the validities will be a challenge.
The other option could be to enhance the heuristic functionality at lot size selection step while creating order.

Can we use MRP to plan for FERT in-house produced with PIR's & has Min/Max

I have a very critical issue from the client who wants to use MIN/ MAX stock values for planning its finished products (in-house produced)
here is the details of the scenario
Client recieves 2 Excel files every week from customer
1st file contains the Weekly Demand Forecast of FERT material for next 1 year and they upload it in MD61 as PIR's BUT this value is also Inclusive of Safety stock value (ex: if weekly demand entered in MD61 as PIR is 50 and if safety stock value is 10, then actual demand is only 40)
2nd file send contains only safety stock values (for ex in this case let it = 10) to be maintained for the FERT materials
the client wants MRP to plan and trigger based on this PIR's in MD61 and Safety stock level fand plan for FERT, HALB and also ROH materials as defined in the BOM also taking into consideration the current WIP levels (Work in progress for any existing production orders currently being processed) based on the production Lead times values maintained
so what the client wants is they want to maintain 2 stock values, that is one least stock value and other higher value which if stock falls below this point, will trigger production based on the lead time and considering any WIP levels also
(for ex in this case if PIR = 50 and safety stock is 10, MRP run result client wants is = 30 and NOT =40)
so here are my questions
1. is this scenario feasible? use safety stock and min/max level for in-house produced finished which has demand PIRs in MD61 at the same time?
2. Also due to SOX complaince regulations, the client does not want to change the forecast values in MD61, so is it possible to make some settings so that forecast is corrected by WIThOUT including the safety stock value in it? ( for ex: in this case as = 40 only and NOt as 50)
3. which all settings should i maintain like for MRP type or lot size or stock qty levels or anyother customizations if any required so that when we run MRP, can it ignore the safety stock value and generate the client desired output?

Hi Chakri,
This is not possible as per standard functionality. MRP always creates proposals for the shortage quantity of the safety stock. We have used the user exit in the plant level MRP run to exclude both plant and safety stock in the net requirements calculation.
You have to write logic to convert the safety stock into plant stock in the user exit so there will be no additional procurement proposals...you can create custom indicatar in materail master or linked any existing indicator like MRP group to the user exits so the MRP will checks this and will not create proposals for the selected parts.

Min max with Alpha Beta pruning

Hey I would like to add Min max with Alpha - Beta pruning for my tic tac toe game. If you know some sort of tutorial or anything please let me know. After I complete I'm going to make a complete guide to make a Tic Tac Toe game with a really nice GUI, Music, AI, and Network capabilities. I have the game made so far. I'm going to rewrite it with interfaces and clean up the code a lot then create the guide, but before I do all this I want to create and AI for it.

I suppose that since, other than reading a summary on Wikipedia, I
don't know what a 'minimax algorithm' is and have never tried to
implement one I should not make fun.The idea is quite simple: your best move e.g. in a board game is my worst
result and vice versa. If I can minimize your best move I have maximized
my best move (and that's the move I'll play).
Now suppose my best move somewhere in that game tree turns out
to be worse than another best move of mine somewhere else in that
same tree, there is no need anymore for me to explore the rest of that
subtree. That's the alpha pruning part. The same counts for you and
that's the beta pruning part.
alpha-beta pruning reduces the number of nodes to be examined to
O(sqrt(n)) where n are all the nodes in the fully examined tree. It is
quite a nice algorithm although quite tricky too when you have to build it.
The best reference I can think of now is the old book "Data Structures"
by Horrowitz and Sahni.

Min/Max Planning R12

Have a real headscratcher!
Run Min/Max with this set-up:
Min/Max/Min = 826
Min/Max/Max = 826
FLM = 300
Min Order Qty = 691
The on hand is 380 and when Min/Max runs we get an order for 691 pieces. Seemingly ignoring the Fixed Lot Multiplier of 300. The thought was we would have seen an order for 900.
Run Min/Max with this set-up:
Min/Max/Min = 826
Min/Max/Max = 826
FLM = 300
Min Order Qty = 445
The on hand again is 380 and when Min/Max runs we get an order for 600 pieces because it "honors" the Fixed Lot Multiplier of 300.
Seems more like a bug then a feature. Thoughts? Thanks

As per my understanding,
In scenario 1:

Min Qty = 826
Min. Ord. Qty = 691
On Hand = 380
So On hand + Mind. Ord. Qty = 380 + 691 = 1071 which is greater than Min. Qty which is 826
So, in this case, system will not look at the FLM as Min. Ord. is compulsory to place.
===========In Second Case========
Min Qty = 826
Min. Ord. Qty = 445
On Hand = 380
So On hand + Mind. Ord. Qty = 380 + 445 = 825 which is lesser than Min. Qty which is 826
So it will follow the FLM.

Min/max MRP and double star planned order

Hi,
What does setting up materials for min/max mean ? Is it just some concept r does it involve some specific settings in the material master ? I know there are minimum and maximum lot sizing procedures available. Are these to be taken into account to set materials up for min/max ?
What does a planned order with two stars in the MD04 screen mean?

Single *** means order is Firmed and **** means Capacity planning has been done for the planned order.
There is "storage location" MRP with min max levels.
Have a look at the fields on the MRP screens in the material master and you will see the settings you can choose from.
There should be no need for any config as long as your basic MRP config is there.
The normal MRP run will then try to maintain the correct stock level in that storage location and you use the special procurement keys on the material master to determine where the stock should come from to replenish that storage location.

How to get min/max price to be captured from last 6months

I'm confusing about my report requirements can anybody suggest about the below comments.
1) I want to generate report min/max price to be captured for last 6months based on query selection given values e.g: material, calmonth.
2. Query date/Query month is based on Purchase order creation date.
3. When we execute query for given 0material, 0calmonth e.g: 10000 , 12.2008 report output should be last six months min/max price for materials.
How can i get this type of report.
Anybody suggest me on this.

Ring Control/Indicator Min/Max Values

Is there a simple way to retrieve the minimum and maximum values of a Ring control or indicator?
I'm not looking for "Data Entry Limits", so that hasn't been useful. The only thing I've been able to do is use the "Strings And Values []" array, however even THAT is problematic, as it returns an array of clusters. To use "Array Max & Min", I have to use a for loop to index the array, and create a new array of just the Values.
Is there either a way to just get the Min & Max, or an easier way to get an array of the values? Ring controls have both a "Strings []" and "Strings and Values []" property, why don't they have just a "Values []" property? Perhaps there's a way to UN-Index and UN-Bundle a Cluster Array?
I'm using LabVIEW 8.5.

I agree with you that a reverse of "index and bundle cluster array" could come in handy. I am pretty sure that the way you are solving this problem is the best. The only other way to solve it I can think of is to convert the array of clusters to a variant data type and then flatten this to a string and parse the string for the data. This way is a lot more cumbersome and does not get around having to use a loop. Maybe someone else can think of a better way, I am interested to hear if there is.

Formula min max planning

HI,
if we have min = 2, max = 13 and we have fix lot multiplier 5.
on hand 0.
running min max will create order qty = 15. is correct?
how settup about formula min max if we want the result for that case is 10.
so not round up but round down..
it possible??

Adding to Sandeep's reply there is a profile called INV: Round Reorder Quantity which will help you round UP or DOWN the restock Qty but this still OBEYS the rule that after restock you should have the max Qty in the system as supply.

Want to set Min Max for a material for PD MRP type

I know Maximum stock level field in Material master MRP 2 view ? but where do i maintain minimum stock level? not procured?
My client wants to set up his inventory with Min Max levels using MRP PD?

Hi,
If you want to maintain a Max and Min stock level, Maximum stock is shown straight away, you cannot find the Minimum field directly.
if you want to use MRP type PD then go for safety stock that will be your minimum stock level
or else use Re-order point planning, re-order point will be your minimum and Max-level as maximum.

If you want to end up with one row per slot per datasource etc, and you want the min and max slots that have the same value as the current slot, then you probably need to be using analytic functions, like:

Can I set the min/max for multiple images at once?

I have brought in my page design from photoshop and I don't want any of the images or text to resize when the web browser window is made smaller.
Is there a way to do this without setting each min & max individually?

Min/ Max interval data storage

OK, so what I am trying to do is scan 2 voltages at 3K, temporarily write that data to a file or buffer, read the min and max values, and log those to a file once per minute. I'm at the point where I can scan and display the data, but really don't know where to go next. Any thoughts or ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks

You only need a single loop. You can use the "elapsed time" express VI to signal when time has elapsed, and simply use a case structure to append the averages to the data before writing (in the false case just wire the current data across). You should also open the file before the loop, append inside the loop, and only close the file once the loop completes. You can use the min&max ptbypt VI to keep track of the min and max for each interval or just keep track of it using a shift register.

DateTimeAxis min/max bug? Problems with consistent padding. Date Wrapping.

I have been working on a problem with a BarChart object that I've created using dynamic data.
My primary issue is that I can't seem to get the proper min/max values to set for the chart.
To solve this I manually found the min and max of the data set of Dates and set the min and max of the chart. This allowed me to finally see all the floating custom bars (each bar is rendered with a user set fill), however now if I have a bar that extends over a year change the horizontal axis labels do not wrap the date properly, so instead of 2/10 (feb 2010) being the last date, 12/09 (dec 2009) is the last date.
I've been trying to dynamically adjust the padding based upon a change event, but so far to no avail. Partially I think because I'm not sure which event for the function to fire on.

Alright, so I've discovered that the ONLY time the date wrapping error occurs is when the axis labels contain only the month and year, any other time it places it properly.
Does anyone know where I can report this bug?

It's clearly not impossible, just different than you expect. Create your playlist as you want it to appear in the Current tab (meaning don't dump every single song from your library in there, just the ones you want) and then save the playlist.

I have a Power Mac G5 - How can I run Matrox MX02 mini max

I have a Power Mac G5 Running Mac OSX 10.5.8 I recently got the MX02 Mini Max by Matrox to run my Final Cut Studio application version 6.6 and Im having problems with the pci board that comes with the matrox unit ( it does not fit in the mother board) how would i be able to use this with out connecting the pci board into my mother board on my Mac.?

Can't use it with a G5.
System requirements are Mac Pro and Intel-based MacBook Pro running Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.6 or higher.
IF (big if) the card is PPC Mac compatible, only Late 2005 G5 machines have PCIe. All other G5s are PCI.
The Matrox card is PCIe, not PCI.
