Ctrl i, b, u does not produce italic, bold or underline

This bug has appeared with the Firefox 4 RC.
When visiting a website (http://forum.wordreference.com/showthread.php?t=2089587) and clicking "Post reply" it is sometimes not possible to get italic, bold or underline with the Ctrl key or using the symbols for B, I and U. The Ctrl sequence is interpreted as something else. Sometimes the problem is solved by clearing the cache.
I had the same problem with the Ubuntu version until it was solved.

Figured oout that I had restricted deletions of programs.
Settings->General->Restrictions-> (enter your passcode), Turn Deleting Apps ON
Afterward holding an icon until it jiggles will produce the X delete button.
You might want to turn Delete apps OFF after cleaning up.

"Glossary Secondary Definition" does not hold italic custom styling

I restyled the "Glossary Secondary Definition" character style sheet as italic. When I close iBA (saving or not saving does not matter), then reopen the file, the Glossary Secondary Definition reverts back to roman. I am able to change the color and font and that holds but the italic doesn't. I'm using Times New Roman. Any ideas?

Wil it hold with Helvetica when tested on iPad?
Can you replicate the issue in a new test book?

Ctrl-clicking layer name does not load layer opacity mask (CS2)

Q: Ctrl-clicking a layer name does not load the layers opacity as a selection in CS2 as it did in older versions?
A: You must ctrl-click the layer thumbnail, not the layer name, to select the opacity of the layer. Ctrl-clicking a layer name is now connected to the new way of selecting multiple layers in Photoshop CS2, as per the standard way of selecting multiple objects in the Win OS.

I tried the shift, ctrl & alt keys on start up of PS2 and received a msg fm windows Vista about the PS short cut. I said OK and nothing happened.
I started PS2 and then held the shift, ctrl & alt keys while it was starting. This seemed to reset some things because the original message that comes with PS came up. But the mask problem is still there.
I went further in your instructions and found the "reset all tools". Did that. Still have the problem with my mask not clearing totally.

When Hard-coded server name and data base name are replaced with variables , execute process task does not produce the result

I am trying to load shape file into a sql spatial table. A execution process task is used to run the ogr2ogr.exe program.
This is how the process tab looks like .
Executable : C:\gdal_ogr2ogr\bin\gdal\apps\ogr2ogr.exe
Argument : -f MSSQLSpatial   MSSQL:server=SQL-ABC-DEV;database=MYSIMPLE_Dev;Trusted_Connection=True;\\mypath\files\shares\Data\www.mypage.htm\my_sample_file.shp
Success value : 1
For above settings, package runs fine. The spatial table is created in SQL server db. However when hard-coded SQL server name and database name are replaced with global variables , the spatial table is not created in the database. Yet the package runs fine.
It does not throw any errors. (I am using another variable for full file path. It is not causing any errors though)

IllegalArgumentException does not produce Web Service Fault

Folks,
I'm deploying an EJB 3.0 annotated to provide Web Services for Weblogic 10.3. One of the parameters to the EJB contains is a BigDecimal Value. When this parameter is created, we check to make sure it meets certain criteria. If it fails we throw an IllegalArgumentException. This Exception does not get propagated back to the client (a soap client) as a fault.The marshalling code just seems to ignore the exception.

simply throw SOAPFaultException, that's all.
What I recommend is following :
- ejb method throws IllegalArgumentException
- ws method - catch block converts exception to SOAPFaultException and throws it
- client receives fault, e.g. .NET client receives fault, it works.
Here is method converting Throwable to SOAPFaultException

Bookmark search in location bar does not produce proper results

(note: I have hundreds of bookmarks) I search the word "idea" in the location bark (with prefs set as searching for Bookmarks) and only SOME of the bookmarks with "idea" in the name come up. I type "ideas" and they all disappear, even though there IS one with the word "ideas". This happens even in Safe Mode.

Does it happen in new profile? Make is as described at [[Managing profiles]] ; import the bookmarks into the new profile via the import/export to HTML feature in bookmarks - organize bookmarks window; change the Location bar search setting; check for the issue.

Distiller 6 does not produce PDF...then beachballs

I've been trying to generate PDFs using Distiller 6, but am running into some odd problems.
I generate a .ps file out of Illustrator CS using the Printer>Adobe PostScript File option and "Adobe PDF" as the PPD. I save that directly to the Distiller watched folder.
Distiller then goes through it's paces and appears to generate a PDF. No errors are shown. However, a PDF never appears in the Out folder. Additionally, immediately after Distiller does it's thing, it beachballs and has to be force-quit.
A search for any file with the name that the PDF should have shows nothing. I'm not using any special settings in Distiller. Usually the defaults. Sometimes I turn-off image downsampling.

Suddenly command-shift-3 does not produce a screenshot. Two days ago, no problem. Any suggestions?

Why does command-shift-3 no longer produce a screenshot? Two days ago, no problem. This evening the keys click and nothing happens. I'm in OSX 10.9.1.

The key combination for saving a screenshot to a file is command-shift-3 or 4. If you press command-control-shift-3 or 4, the image will be copied to the Clipboard, and no file will be created.

My MacBook Pro does not produce clear sound when i play music via aux or bluetooth

i have noticed recently that when i listen to music via aux(through my headph0nes or a sound system) or bluetoooth the sound is not clear. i thought that maybe my music quality wasnt good but then when i loaded the songs onto my iphone and ipad, the songs were perfectly cleat and sounded great. i have turned the equalizer on itunes off yet the sound still isnt clear. the songs sound as iff it were of low quality(the songs crack and the bass sounds awefull)
i know that the problem isnt the songs that i have. please help

I have the same 3G-Bluetooth issue and can't offer a solution to that at present but I'm wondering what you want to do with the connection ?
If it's to Browse the iPhone (as if it was a disc or flash drive) then there's a handy utility called iPhone Explorer that allows you to do this.

Mapping executes fine but does not produce any output

I created a mapping to copy values from one table to another for a particular condition. I have data for thsi particular condition in the input table.
The Mapping validated fine and was deployed successfully.
The OWB Mapping is run from Unix.
The mapping executes fine without any issues but it does practically nothing. The target table has no data.
Need any more details on this? Please help.

Generate the code at Mapping Editor and execute it manually. Probably you have to modify the where clause.

Burned DVD does not produce the same result as the Encore 2.0 preview

Video captured directly into Adobe Premier Pro 2.0 from a Canon GL2 camera
Using an HP media center PC (Model M1270N)
Pentium 4 (3.00 GHz)
1.0 GB RAM
ATI Radeon X300SE PCI-E graphics card 128 MB DDR video memory
I purchased Adobe Creative Suite (Production Studio Premier) last month. Using Adobe Premier Pro 2.0 I produced two video
One video was 36:43 minutes. Original size was 8.35 GB, 7.9 bitrate
Second video was 37:41 minutes. Original size was 8.57 GB, 7.9 bitrate
I then brought them into Adobe Encore 2.0 and created a simple menu. Using the Preview from here button the menu and the videos had no problem. Using the Check Project button there were no errors. The disc information showed that there was 146.8 Mb free on a 4.7 GB disc after the project was transcoded.
Upon burning the DVD and putting it into a computer or a DVD player the first video played fine all the way through the second one within the last 3 minutes began skipping for the remainder of the video and then terminated as planned by going back to the menu.
Question: Is there any way to keep the last portion of the second video from skipping? I found the problem when I had sent the DVD off to a duplicator and the duplicator told us about the problem.
Any help would be appreciated.

Glad that Playlists worked for you. DVD authoring can be a great learning experience, as a whole. The Encore part came pretty easy for me, but I had the help of many of the gurus in this forum, plus Jeff Belune's book, "Focal Easy Guide to EncoreDVD 2." Don't let the Encore 2 part throw you, as 95%+ of the info carries over to Encore CS3, and possibly CS4.
After the manual, Jeff's book, and the "Classroom in a Book EncoreXX," I find that just reading the posts in this forum is a big help. Almost every day I find a "wow, I didn't know you could do
b THAT
with Encore," just by reading the stuff here.
Fortunately, my relationship with the program has been Love/Love, but maybe I've just been fortunate.

Google search does not produce results but goes to an 'untitled document' blank page

Computer just automatically updated Firefox and now when I search in google no results are produced when I hit enter or click on search. Instead it just produces a black page with the label 'untitled document'.

Spontaneously fixed itself. Now seems fine - but I didn't do anything to fix it.

Unable to customize control bar. Control-Click does not produce drop down window.

I just downloaded Logic Pro X (10.0.7) on a Macbook Pro, OSX 10.9.4, 2.3 Core i7 with 8 GB Ram. I'm trying to customize the control bar (to add auto punch). According to "help" the control bar is customized by Control-Clicking on the control bar and selecting the desired tools from the drop down menu. When I Control-Click (anywhere on the control bar) nothing happens.
I have tried this with no audio interface attached and with my Focusrite Saffire Pro 26 on-line; no difference.

Ahhh...those pesky "Advanced Preferences".
