  • CTS+ configuration in XI. Need help.

    Hi All,
I have followed the How to Doc " Enhanced CTS configuration in XI"  from the link below
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/20965d21-6c93-2a10-d4a0-9f3c27a939fc
But, functionality is not working. I need advice from any body who followed this document to configure CTS+.
With regards to Pre-req, I have applied all of them correctly in terms of Tp ver, support packs and Java support packs.. I am 100% sure about it. Our Netweaver system is Netweaver04S/Netweaver 7.0 SPS 14.
To begin with have some confusion from the document from Page 15 point 8 and page 18 point 15 regarding the CTS export directory. Our SAp install directory is S: drive and rest of the path. I have created folder called "ctsExport" in S:usrsap<SID>SYSglobalxi, but for the same system (dev) I am not sure how they can point to two different drives? Is that error in document?
and Further in points 25 and 28, for name "com.sap.aii.ibdir.core.transport.exportCtsDirectory" corresponding value is "true" and not the directory path as shown in screens. I am not sure, where I am getting wrong and how to correct the problem.
    Please advice..
If I could correct problems in these areas, I will move forward to correct any other problems...

    K

  • CTS+ Configuration

    Hi guys,
I have one problem when I try to export a software component via CTS. This is the first export that I will release after the CTS configuration.
The transport domain is the SAP PI developent enviroment it's composed with DEV, QUA and PRD systems.
When I try to export one software component I obtain the next error in Integration Repository:
Default request is not configured (for applType: XI, user: username, sid: XD1, SC: b38bcd00e47111d7afacde420a1145a5). Create a corresponding default request (e.g. via your Transport Administrator)
I have configured one standard request for this issue.
    Can anybody helpl me?
    Best Regards
    Ivá

    Hi Arun
Google "CTS+ Configuration Guide" and you'll find multiple PDF guides (most 7.0 stuff is still valid for 7.1 in terms of CTS+ it hasn't changed that much):
    Best practices for CTS+
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/10456aac-44f7-2a10-1fbe-8b7bcd7bcd58?overridelayout=t…
    CTS+ for Portal Environment

    7.1 SP specific guidance:
Help has guidance as well where you find the relevant steps:
Performing Configuration Steps for Non-ABAP Transports - Change and Transport System - SAP Library
In other words plenty of guidance how to do this without the need for someone to detail this out . I would say, start by following the help.sap.com steps and use those other PDF guides as a reference to help you out. If you have further questions while configuring or if you get stuck, post another question on SCN forums.

    Thanks in advance
    Dhiraj

    Hello Dhiraj,
You might want to have a look at SAp Note 1045501, it states:
    > The "Best Practices for Implementing CTS" guide in SAP Developer Network (SDN) explains the architecture and components of CTS. It contains descriptions for possible system landscapes and configuration examples for various application cases.  https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/10456aac-44f7-2a10-1fbe-8b7bcd7bcd58
Please follow the link. Then just click on the view how to Guide button. This document talks about the dual stack landscape.
I hope you find it a bit more helpful than the first document.

  • CTS+ Configuration: Target System is empty in CTS_BROWSER (7.01 SP5)

    Hi,
I am doing CTS+ configuration. We have DEV(7.00 SP14), QAS(7.00 SP14) and SOL(7.01 SP5) system. All are dual stacks. My requirement is i have to transport DEV(Source) to QAS(Target) using SOL(Communication) system. I have confugured SOL system as a domain controller.
I have completed all the configurations. When i do testing, i come to know Target System field is empty in CTS_BROWSER.
Can you please suggest where i did mistake? Thanks in advance.
    Thanks,

    Hi Daniel,
if you configured a transport route which consists of DEV, QAS and PRD, this is the way a transport request will go. You are not able to change this in the transport Organizer Web UI. Only if you had configured more than one QA - e.g QA1 and QA2 - then you would be able to choose one of these two systems in Transport Organizer Web UI.
    Kind regards

  • Dual-Stack CTS configuration

    Hi All,
    My question is :
Once we have configured the ABAP-Stack of a dual-stack system into the transport domain through CTS, so can we now move the JAVA-based objects as well or we need to do something else also.
    If so, what is that?
    Regards

    Hi Chilbul,
Your question is pretty vague. As per it, we don't know if you have actually carried out all the steps of CTS+ configuration prior to including the abap stack in transport routes or not.
If you have already completed CTS+ configuration and this was the last step you did, then your java developers should be able to include their objects in a transport request.
However, if you haven't done the CTS+ configuration yet, then please do that. For reference, these are some documents that should help you:

  • CTS+ configuration for NWDI - Development configuration error

    Hi All,
I really need some help on this. we are configuring CTS+ on Solution Manager system for NWDI, EP landscape (EPD, EPQ,EPP) and SLD system.
we made EPD as development system and trying to use CM Services to configure the NWDI scenario SDA/SDC Deployment.
I have created all NON-ABAP systems and created the CTSDEPLOY Http connections. I am getting the popup to configure the Development Configuration,"What is the User I have to use here and  of which system?" and what are the authorizations required to configure this.
As soon as the popup comes, It is asking for the user ID and Password. I am entering Solution Manager (Admin user with all CMS actions also assigned) user then it is giving the following error on the screen. " Could not connect to SLD; contact your System Administrator: User SAPNWDI is not allowed to do this function "
I have give the SLD url correctly, and the admin user for SLD and Password. I have cross checked the user for password, every thing is fine.
    I really appreciate your help.
    Thanks,
    Ramu J.

    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/90d3b550-b6fb-2910-0fa5-ece5d61fb9c3
    Hi Ramu,
    Pls answer me for below.
    specified SLQ as my SLD
    1.
You said SLQ is you SLD, but You configuring CTS on solution manager. but solution manager has its own SLD.
    a. SMG solution manager SLD
    b. SLQ is also SLD
If there is two sld then you should get error
" Could not connect to SLD; contact your System Administrator: User SAPNWDI is not allowed to do this function "
This is becuase you are giving the user which is present in SLQ SLD but CTS is checking the Solution manager SLD.
For CTS you should have centralied SLD.
    2.
Can you tell me one more thing, in CTSDEPLOY do I need to give the SMG host and port number or EPD's host and Port number?
You have to specify the host and port in CTSDEPLOY of the system on which CTS contoller should work i.e EPD or SMG.
To resolve your all this problem first of all make the SLD as central . i.e Make solution manager ( CLQ ) as SLD or SLD system in you landscape ( SLQ ) as SLD.
don't keep two different SLD . If you keep Solman as its own SLD then CTS will search component from SMG SLD
    Pls follow the guide
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/90d3b550-b6fb-2910-0fa5-ece5d61fb9c3
    3.
Could not connect to SLD; contact your System Administrator: User SAPNWDI is not allowed to do this function
Can you tell us in which system this SAPNWDI user is present
Check the SLD of of system in which SAPNWDI user  i present
system is whether in SMG SLD or SLQ SLD
If you are not clear with my above suggestion pls let me know.
    Thanks

Yes. the scenerio is very much possible.
Please refer to 3.1.3 for different ABAP and JAVA stacks in the following document http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/10456aac-44f7-2a10-1fbe-8b7bcd7bcd58?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true

  • Is CTS+ configuration a prerequisite to Quality Gates ?

    Hello,
I have heard that CTS+ has to be configured first before I can configure Quality Gates on my Solution Manager system.
Does anyone know if this is true?
    Thanks,
    Judith

    Dear Judith,
According to SAP Note 1256490 it states TMS has to be activated.
So this would cover ABAP systems.
The Note also makes reference to Note 1256490 - regarding an issue for NON-ABAP systems and CTS+,
which would indicate that TMS is the prerequisite transport for ABAP systems, but it can be infered for
non-ABAP systems CTS+ is the required transport.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Paul
