CTS+ for BODS Transports

Hi,
Does BODS 4.0 supports CTS+ to move jobs from one system to other (DEV to QA, PROD) ?
BODS GURU`s please help me out.

Please check the note mentioned in the Admin Guide
Note 1003674 - Enhancement for non-ABAP systems in CTS
Also, there is a presentation on the Best Practices:
http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/10456aac-44f7-2a10-1fbe-8b7bcd7bcd58
Hope this helps.

  • How to setup CTS+ for BODS 4.1 systems

    Hi all,
I am trying to setup CTS+ for BODS systems to transport the objects from dev--> QA---> Prod.
I Couldnt find any document which explains about CTS+ for BODS systems.
I have some knowledge on how CTS+ works and worked on CTS + for EP and PI.
Can someone let me know the steps involved in setting up CTS + for BODS 4.1 systems.
    Thanks

  • Workflow Approval for CTS+ for NON ABAP Transport

    Hi
We have a NW Portal system currently using CTS+ for transport.
We would like to incorporate a workflow approval for transport across the different landscape (DEV -> TEST -> QA -> PRD) with CTS+. The workflow approval would work in such a way that when someone approves a transport request from DEV->TEST, the Basis Admin will then perform the import to TEST. So this approval will also be needed from TEST -> QA and QA -> PRD.
Does Solution Manager provide such workflow approval for NON ABAP transport?
I do hope anyone has such experience to share.
    Thanks.
    Regards
    mike

    Hi Mike
Yes solution Manager CHARMS or Change request managment functionality uses CTS+ to move the Non ABAP requests
it uses IBASE as identifier for systems and for more can search sdn
    check this link too

    Hope it helps

  • Does CTS+ work with SLD transport targets for ID transports?

    Hi,
does CTS+ work with SLD transport targets for ID transports?
did any of you ever used it ?
    thank you,
    Regards,
    Michal

    Hi Michal
I would be interested to find out about this..
Hopefully this new project will use 7.1 and Basis are doing all the SLD and the CTS+ config..
I have every faith in them!!!!  :-O
There is a document about transporting repository and directory objects, but every version I have found is corrupt - or I cannot open in Adobe...
    You may have more luck!

CTS introduces a new transport handling mechanism that offers tighter integration for the transport of ABAP, Java, and Integration Builder objects (Integration Repository and Integration Directory) using the Change and Transport System (BC-CTS) functionality."
Maybe in six weeks I can actually answer this for you!  I'm sure you'll have the answer by then!

  • How to configure CTS+ for Solution Manager for XI 3.0

    Hi ,
We are working on XI 3.0 SP 20 and Doing a file system based transport of .TPZ files. We observed that there is a possibilit of misssing the objects while tranporting. So we are planning to set CTS+ with our Solution Manager.
    Question:
    1. Can we configure CTS+ through the latest version of Solution Manager for XI 3.0 landscape?
If Yes .. How?   If No... Why?
    2. Is there any way to make the the transport automated like ABAP tranports.
If there is.... Please send the link or documents..
    Thanks
    Manoj

    Hi Venkat,
Thank you for the Demo. The Demo gives me information about the CTS+ setup. I am looking for the compatability of CTS+ for XI 3.0.
We have Solution Manager 7.1 setup in place.
Please let us know if we can setup CTS+ on solution Manager (7.01 EHP1) and use it to transport XI 3.0 SP20 IR/ID objects  across  the XI landscape.

  • ChaRM and CTS+ for EP 7.0 in SolMan

    Hi,
I've been trying to get CHaRM working for EP 7.0 in our SolMan systems for a while, but have not been able to get it working. I've read through and followed all the documentation on the resources page here, the Solution Manager documentation on help.sap.com and service.sap.com and all the notes I can find. We are running SolMan 7.0 SPS 17, and the Portal is on NW7.0 SPS 15.
I have configured SMSY, populated from SLD and assigned to a system (I've tried NETWEAVER 7.0 - Enterprise Portal main instance, and ERP 6.0 - SAP XSS main instance) and assigned the dev and prod systems to a locical component.
I have configured STMS, a single client independant consolidation route from dev to prod. The dev system is defined as a Non-ABAP "source system" in TMS, and I've set the communication system to be the solman system/client.
The CTS+ config all seems to work, I can create/release transports and add objects to transports from the EP dev system.
When I try to implement ChaRM, I create a new maintenance project. I add the portal landscape component to it, and activate change management. This works. When I try to create the task list, it fails trying to create the project IMG for the system. It gives me the error -
IMG project creation error -> see long text
    Message no. /TMWFLOW/TASKLIST164
    Diagnosis
You want to create a new maintenance cycle. An error has occurred.
When you create a maintenance cycle for a maintenance project in the Solution Manager (SMI project), a project is created in the Central Transport System (CTS project), per logical development system. This CTS project is required as an attribute for the transport requests.
A CTS project is always assigned to an implementation project (IMG project) in the physical system. There must be an IMG project in all physical systems in an SMI project, in which a system change (development/maintenance) can be made.
If there is no IMG project in a system, one is created automatically. The generated IMG project has the same name TEST as the SMI project, but there cannot be an SMI project and an IMG project with the same name in one system, for system-internal reasons.
In SMI project TEST there is a development system in the same physical system SMU as the Solution Manager.
    System Response
If one of the development systems is in the same physical system as the Solution Manager, the IMG project cannot be created automatically.
    Procedure
Create an IMG project manually in system SMU. In the path: SAP Menu -> Tools -> Solution Manager -> Project Administration.
Choose the SMI project TEST, go to the 'System Landscape' tab, and then the 'IMG Projects' tab.
Select an entry for the system SMU and try to create the IMG project. The system tells you that a system of the same name already exists, and asks you whether you want to choose another project name. Answer 'Yes', and change the project name.
You should then be able to create the task plan.
SMU (solution Manager) is not in the system landscape of this project, I expect that it is trying to create the IMG in this system since this is the communication system for portal dev. However, since it's not in the landscape, it isn't in the IMG tab to be able to create manually as described.
If I try to create the IMG project for the Portal Dev system directly in the project, I get the error -
Error getting RFC destination for logical system EPU
    Message no. SMSY_PPMS_API044
    Diagnosis
No RFC destination was found for the logical system 'EPU' .
    System Response
The RFC connection to the system 'EPU' cannot be created.
    Procedure
Create the required RFC connection in the Solution Manger System Landscape Maintenance.
    Any advise would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    James Blair

    Hi James (and others),
I trust you have resolved your issues with ChaRM and CTS+.
If you are running a partuicularly extensive landscape you may want to consider a third party alternative to ChaRM.
Particularly one that integrates with CTS+ (to include non ABAP such as Portal, NWDI Java and so on).
There are several available, the one I am most falimiar with (Note: I do work with Revelation Software Concepts) is Rev-Trac and you can read user reviews at http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/ecohub/solutions/revtrac
If you run an EcoHub search on Change and Request Management or similar the other alternatives should be returned.

Where can i set an standard request for my user? I suppose this answer solves my problem!
    Best Regards,
    Matthias Isenburg

    Hi Matthias,
which value for the TMS parameter WBO_GET_REQ_STRATEGY do you use for your development system?
If you use "Smart", then a new default request should be created automatically.
If you use "Tagged", you will have to create a default request before you can use the functionality.
The solution how to create has been already posted before (using the Transport Organizer WebUI).
If you have selected "Smart" and it still does not work:
Please ensure that you have implemented the latest version of SAP Note 1003674 (latest version of SAP Note - current: Version 44 from 05.06.2008).
If this still not solves the issue:
Please check SAP Note 1172252 of "how to troubleshoot" this issue in your system for more.
    Best regards,
    Silvia

  • CTS+ for SAP Hana

I am going to set up CTS+ for SAP Hana non-ABAP development.
However, the same SAP Hana landscape also has ABAP development.
I think on tcode STMS I cannot have two transport routes with exactly the same DEV, QA and PROD,
i.e. we cannot have two transport routes as follows on STMS:
So how to set up separated transport routes for ABAP and non-ABAP development for the same SAP Hana
    landscape?
    Thanks!

    Hi Christina,
For transporting non-abap objects using cts+, you can refer Transporting Non-ABAP Objects in Change and Transport System - Software Logistics - SAP Library
Not sure of any difference on hana platform.

  • Auto Activation of Content for CTS+ for HANA

    Hi Everyone,
I have configured CTS+ for HANA and I am able to transport HANA Content(Delivery Unit) From Dev to Quality box.
But my content like Views are not getting activated automatically.
The transport request in SOLMAN system is green and it says that
"AutoActivation of Content is disabled by default. To auto activate the content create delivery unit and add __AutoActivate to it.
For example, lets say I have a Delivery Unit Test.tgz so to auto activate the content of this delivery unit, I need to create a Delivery Unit with name
    Test__AutoActivate.tgz"
I have tried doing this but still the content is not getting activated automatically.
Is there another way to change the default setting of Auto Activation or do I need to add any parameter in HANA for this?
    Regards,
    Vivek

    Hi Vivek,
What are the values for the below flags:
    com.sap.aii.ibdir.core.transport.autoActivation.default
    com.sap.aii.ibdir.core.transport.autoActivation.showFlag

  • Tcode to look for a transport request number

    Hi all,
I have to look for request number details .I dont have access to SE01 . How can i look that details?

    Hello Priya
The standard transaction for finding transport requests is <b>SE03 </b>(choose option <i>Requests/Tasks -> Find Request</i>).
If you are not authorized to call this transaction try to execute the underlying report <b>RSWBOSSR </b>using transaction <b>SA38 </b>(menu <i>System -> Services -> Reporting</i>).
    Regards

  • Minimum order qty for Stock transport orders

    Hello
I wonder if there is any way to make the following fields from the Sales org 1 view in the material master to apply on Stock transport orders (ME21N, with subsequent delivery created in VL10B):
    Minimum order qty
    Minimum delivery qty
    Delivery unit
As of now in our system, it only works for Sales orders and related deliveries. But not for Stock transport orders with a supplying plant.
Also, if there is any other way to implement minimum order qty funcitonality and delivery for Stock transport orders, pls advice.
    Thanks,
    OT

    Hello
We are in an intracompany business case. The supplying and recieving plant are in the same company.
The situation is as follows: we are planning all replenishment manually without any involvement of MRP.
What we would like to achieve is the same functionality as of the minimum order/delivery quantities material master fields in the material master.
So when the planner creates the stock transfer order, he keys in supplying plant, material and quantity manually, then the warning message about the minimum order qty should appear.
So far I have not found any way to do this. Any ideas are greatfully received.

  • How to view Pre requisite for a transport request

    Hi All,
We want to release multiple transport at one go. Now, in that there are related developments so that one particular request should go first and then the other related request should follow. I want to know how is this achieved? Is it done by creating proposal for the one to be transported first before the other? So if one request has proposal no. 7780 then it will go before the one having proposal 7789. Is this correct?
Also, I want to know PreReq no. (Prequisite) for a transport i.e. which proposal is lined up before a given proposal. Is there any tool for that?
    Thanks,
    Bhaskar

Combine all transports into one (can be done in SE10). Dependencies will be resolved by SAP if there is only one transport.
For the next time, create one transport and create a task for every developper having only two transports (workbench and cust).
