wat does the field <b>defsize</b> in the structure ctu_params mean actually?
i mean wat is default screen size?
where do we set it?
Wat is the use of it?
(we use this structure in call transaction tc1 using...options..)

Effect
This addition gives you control using the values of the components of the structure opt, which must be of the Dictionary type CTU_PARAMS. The components have the following meaning:
DISMODE
Processing mode (comparable with the MODE addition)
UPDMODE
Update mode (comparable with the UPDATE addition)
CATTMODE
CATT mode (controlling a CATT procedure)
The CATT mode can have the following values:
' ' No CATT procedure active
'N' CATT procedure without single screen control
'A' CATT procedure with single screen control
DEFSIZE
Use standard window size
RACOMMIT
COMMIT WORK does not end CATT procedure
NOBINPT
No batch input mode, that s SY-BINPT = SPACE.
NOBIEND
No batch input mode after BDC data has been read
The components DEFSIZE , RACOMMIT, NOBINPT, NOBIEND always take the following values:
'X' Yes
' ' No

    I have a situation where i need to take the user to required screen in VA02 directly.  I mean the user should be able to see the last screen where he will manually update the details.  How to do this using BDC Call Transaction CTU_PARAMS.
    If I click on the output list, the user need to be taken to requried screen to update the details.

    Hi,
    Create a transaction variant using tcode: SHD0.
    You can go through all the screens and fields and make them display only or required field as per requirement.
    You can make all the screens read only (display) and the last screen alone editable.
    Then create a new transaction for VA01 to start with your transaction variant.

  • Rollback a call transaction using CTU_PARAMS

    Is there any combination of CTU_PARAMS and ROLLBACK that can be used to rollback a call txn.  A BAPI is not available for me to use to perform the function I need.

    I dont think there would be any combination available for CTU_PARAMS and ROllback.
    CTU_PARAMS is available only under the following FM`S :
    BDC_RECORD_TRANSACTION
    BDC_RUNNING
    RS_HDBDC_CALL_TC_BATCH_INPUT
    RS_HDBDC_CHANGE_TC_BATCH_INPUT
    Rollback can be done using BAPI_TRANSACTION_ROLLBACK.
    It would be good if you call the Roll back BAPI explicitly instead of doing rollback along with CTU_PARAMS. Make both of them as independent calls.

    Hi,
    I am trying to use the option <b>NOBINPT</b> of CTU_PARAMS in BDC Session. i.e filling ctu_params-nobimpt = 'X' and passing this in <b>BDC_INSERT</b>. But it doesn't work as expected.
    It works as expected in CALL TRANSACTION. Is there any other parameters to Set in BDC Session?

    As I know from source that we can use CTU_PARAMS for bdc table controll having line items more than one screen.
    I am using this structure for mode and update. How can i use it for multiple lines handle.
    I have too much idea for bdc and created several. but for more data than one screen this structure can help me.
    If any one know, please share it.

    Inorder to avoid this screen resolution problem we use CTU-PARAMS Structure.
    It contains:
    DISMODE : Display mode
    RACOMMIT: Do not end transaction at COMMIT WORK
    UPDMODE: Update mode
    DEFSIZE : Use default window size
    CATTMODE: CATT mode
    NOBINPT : No batch input mode
    NOBIEND : No batch input mode after the end of BDC data.

    CALL TRANSACTION (...) OPTIONS FROM opt.
    Look at CALL TRANSACTION - Calling a Transaction or other threads like CTU_PARAMS
    Generally CTU_PARAMS Is used to avoid unnecessary screens,even though they will not appear in the recording.

          If you go to Transaction code SE93, enter the tcode "CK86_99" and click display, you may see the default value for transaction is "KKBB" and the screen field for P_SCREEN = 0300, P_TCODE = ck86_99.
          You may need to copy the transaction code "KKBB" and go to SE93 again, enter the tcode for "KKBB" then click display, now you may see the program name is "RKKB1000".

  • Selection Criteria addition-Not working

    Hi!
    I have this report wherein I need to add two fields VBAP-Kunnr and knvv-konda in the selection screen so that I can do my drill down or search criteria based upon these two selections also apart from the existing ones, but unfortunately I am unable to get throiugh this and somehow putting this two selections in the selection criteria its not taking any effect or its just actinga  dummy selection and I am unale to drill down my report based upon those. Can anyone have a look and let me know what could be the problem please. Help would be highly appreciated.

  • How to skip first record while inserting data from a flat file to BW system

    In my project we have to upload flat file into a BW system. I have written a program and it is working fine.
    Now we have got another requirement. The flat file will have a header record (first row). While uploading the flat file we have to skip this record. How I can do so?

  • Not able to display flat file's error line in output

    The below Source Code is BDC for XD01 (update Customer Master Record) in CALL TRANSACTION method. This program is written in call transaction method cause as per user’s requirement, user wants error log to be printed as soon as the BDC process finished in the background mode.
    When you execute this below program it will show a selection screen from where you can select your flat file from system.
    After executing this code show output like below as soon as it finished processing the FLAT file.
    1. Customer Update Summary
    2. Successful record with customer number and name.
    3. Error Records with 'record number' and 'reason for error'
    (For testing you just have to copy-paste-save-active  the source code)
    And I have encountered an issue over here in 3rd section-“Record Number” of “Error Records”.
    The “Record Number” is for display the line number of that flat file line which in which error has occurred.
    The “Record Number”  Entries showing only ‘0’ instead of showing line number of error entry .
    I have used Function Module FORMAT_MESSAGE to capture the errors. But not able to display line number of that flat file which is containing error.
    So please suggest me what changes I should make in below source code to get proper output.

    Hi all,
    On executing my program i get ALV with names of reports displayed. My requirement is that on clicking on the report name, I should be directed to SE38, where the corresponding report is opened in 'Change' mode.
    Please suggest how I can achieve this.
