CUA Requires new client?

Hi,
I need to setup CUA on a 3 system landscape. We use client 400. Does CUA require a new client to be setup or do we set it up for client 400? Please advice.
Thanks

Hi
Sap will not prescribe that one single client to maintain the cua, you can use any one system as parent client and add child systems. for this system it is not required to create client.

  • New client roles and profiles not being recognized in CUA

We recently did a client copy and I am trying to add roles and/or profiles to users, but CUA does not recognize either. When I choose "Text comparison from child sys." I get an error message for that new client that says, "User has not RFC authoriation for function group SUU6."  Any assistance you can provide would be appreciated.

No, it's not better. It's a bad practice assigning SAP_ALL to communication users. It's a violation of Principle of Least Privilege. You should also use SAP_NEW just for limited period of time. SAP provides a role for this purpose. It's mentioned in CUA cookbook. There is a recent post from Julius on this forum about removing SAP_ALL from the system. It has some info why SAP_ALL and SAP_NEW are not supposed to used.

  • ABAP proxy client call PI with new client 120 in old business system

    Hi all
We have a requirement to call PI from ABAP client proxy in synchronous mode via a CRM client 120.
CRM client 100 is already configured in the Business system talked above but now we need the same business system to be configured for client 120 as well.
My question is If we go to the SLD and
    |-> Click on Business System
    |-> Add new client 120
Will it work or we need to do some extra configuration for communication channel.
Also please let me know how to configure Integration Directory for sender agreement, Receiver Agreement and the communication channel.
    Thanks in Advance.

    > since sender is client proxy you don't need to do anything in case of receiver proxy you will be needing reciver communication channel of XI adapter type .
for proxy based communication your application system(other than PI/XI) should be able to make a proxy call to XI or receive a call from XI .for this purpose you need to make some settings at R/3( or CRM level)

    Hi Ram,
suggest how can i start cleaning up the server what type of data can be remove ?
Are you asking to clean up data at the client level or you are asking how to claim space in on the server level?
Do we have any program to estimate how much space required to new client?
Yes, when you perform a test run before starting client copy it'll show the estimated space needed ?

  • Creating NEW CLIENT,USER and PASSWORD Please

    Hi ..
I am having this problem ,I am from SD-module. I am trying to work with sending and receiving IDOC's . Here i have problem with creating another logical system.could u please assist me in creating another client/user/password on my existed system.so that i can be able to send an idoc from one logical system to another logical system.i would appreciate your efforts.
    regards,
    SURIYA.

    Hi
You can create a client using transaction code SCC4. Then you need to perform a client copy, use transcation SCCL to perform a local client copy from client 000 using SAP_ALL/SAP_CUST profile.
Once you are done with you need to check whether the parameter login/no_automatic_user_sapstar is set to false (0). This can be achived in transaction code RZ10. You will have to restart the SAP server if the parameter value is altered(if not already 0).
Once the parameter is set then u can login to the client using user SAP* and password "pass". For performing client copy u will log into the destination client that is the client newly created and using SCCL perform the client copy.
Using BD54 u can create a logical system and in transaction SCC4 you can assign this logical system to the new client.
Once you are done with client copy then DDIC user will also be there with the master password given during installation time.
Using transaction SU01 you can create new users according to ur need and assign the roles/profiles as required.
Once this is done you can peform the IDOC sending and recieveing activity in between those clients.
If any more queries feel free to ask.

  • DT require Oracle9i client and Oracle Services for MTS software

"Distributed Transactions require Oracle9i client and Oracle Services for Microsoft Transaction Server software."
I get the error above when attempt to run a COM+ transaction accessing Oracle9i. I'd been checked the installation of Oracle9i and Oracle Services in the client computer and it is ok.
I am using Windows Server 2003 and the database server is on another Windows Server 2003. The database is Oracle9i Enterprise Edition.
At Stanford's web site (http://www.stanford.edu/dept/itss/docs/oracle/9i/win.920/a95496/ch1.htm#1079911) I found Oracle's documentation that explains this, but it didn't worked for me.
Oracle Services is installed in both machines.
The Oracle MTS Recovery Service is running.
    The COM+ component is registered.
When I use the same component with SQL Server 2005 beta 2 it works fine. What else do I need to do?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi.
I have the same problem, one which works and another which don't (almost though).
I got most of it to work by taking the mtsservices registry entry from the server that works and put it on to the other after i have made the service in Oracle management console for mts.
Now i can search, delete, change but not make a new entry into the database.
And thats where i'm stuck now.
    Hope it helps a bit..

  • Interaction with a new client

    Hi,
Im working in a newly established company.
We are expecting a new client which requires 24/7 oracle apps support.
I would like to know the possible questions we pose to our client as a DBA (may be like the size of the DB, number of users, etc) to get started with the client.
I apoligize for this is not a regular question regarding the subject, but i need your help..Kindly show me some way to pose good questions to our client.
    Thanks in advance.

You should be familiar with 7x24 issues, such as
    - level of support
    - segment aintenance (index, tables)
    - backup policies
    - standby databases
    - rac
    - Oracle licenses to support a data guard and or a rac environment
    - backup site
    - Regular backup management
    - switch over and failed over
    - rollup patch apply
Regularly the customer will ask you if you are able to provide this, among other specific customer's issues, and you should be able to answer it. On your side you should be concerned about licenses, resources and service level agreements.

  • Win64_11gR2_client still throws 'requires oracle client 8.1.7 or greater'

    Hey All,
I just installed the new win64 11g R2 Client on my windows 2008 server machine, with the ASP.NET client, however i'm still getting the error:
System.Data.OracleClient requires Oracle client software version 8.1.7 or greater
Now I went to the ODBC Manager (64 bit, not the 32 bit) and tested my connections, so i know the client is connecting.
Is there something special i need to use to make this work?

Is Visual Studio, or your web/asp.net app, 32 or 64-bit? If the app is 32-bit, it needs ("looks for") the 32-bit Oracle client libraries. Maybe that is the case here?
You could use Process Monitor for troubleshooting the issue:

In addition, consider using the Oracle provider instead.

    Hi Toshniwal,
Collecting project requirements from a client is more art than science.  Yes, you can follow a template or checklist, but the information you really need comes from understanding the true benefits of the project.  If you don't know, find out.
When you understand WHY a project is undertaken, then the questions you need to ask will follow logically.  And, if you know WHY, then you will know which business processes are affected, and that most importantly, will lead you to the correct questions to ask.
In the past I have used a very simple rule...3P (People, Paper, Processes).  You can call it 4P today (People, PC, Paper, Processes) to help with collecting requirements.
My requirements questions then fall into these categories.
People - Who interacts with Whom? How often?
Paper or PC - What data is passed by paper or electronically by PC?  Which data is absolutely required?  Which is nice to have? Which data, if missing, would cause significant financial failure or significant process failure?
Process - What triggers an event by People or Paper or PC? How many entry points are there into the process?  How many exit points are there? At which point in the process is the data manipulated or transformed?  What is the most important sub-process or integration process?
The above is not nearly all the questions I would ask, but merely a sample.
And, never rely on 1 source for all of your information.  Make certain you have validated the requirements with multiple inputs from colleagues and client personnel.

  • HT5022 I'm trying to add a "new client" to my wireless network using Airport Utility, but I can't find that option in the new version.  I've downloaded all available updates of the OS and the utility..  Help!

I'm trying to add my HP wireless printer as a "new client" to my wireless network using Airport Utility, but I can't find that option in the new version.  I've downloaded all available updates of the OS and the utility..  Help!

Why would you need to ADD a new Client. Unless the APE sytem is completely different then any other Wireless router the printer should get an IP address from the router. That is IF the printer is setup to get an IP from the LAN DHCP server.
Now you may want to make that IP it does get a Staticly assign IP address so it never changes, which will screw up printing if it does change. But i don't know if you can do that with APE routers.

  • SAP* and DDIC passwords for new clients in Sol Man 4.0

    Hello all,
I just recently finished a Solution Manager 4.0 on Windows 2003 server box. Then, I performed some of the post installation steps until I had to create a new client. So, I went to scc4 and created a new client. When trying to get access to this new client through SAP*, the default password did not work and the entries were not created in the table usr02. Also, I tried to insert the missing entries into the usr02 table, but had no success after all.
I hope some of you can help on this, because I am stucked on it.
    Regards,
    Luis Alberto Zeró

    Hi guys ..
i thing you can check in Document Installation guide Solution manager  on Page <b>108</b>
If you install a new ABAP or ABAP+Java system, in most cases you do not need to perform the client copy for
the ABAP stack. SAPinst creates three ABAP clients during the installation, client 000, client 001, and client 066.
You can use client 001 for production.
The following procedure describes how to perform a client copy manually. We recommend that you
use client 001 as source client.
    <b>Caution</b>
If you want to use a client other than the default of 001 as your production client, you have to reconnect
the Java part to the production client as described in <b>SAP Note 937323</b>.
    <b>Procedure</b>
    1. Maintain the new client with transaction SCC4.
    2. Activate kernel user SAP*:
       a) Set the profile parameter
          Login/no_automatic_user_sapstar to 0.
       b) Restart the application server.
    3. Log on to the new client with kernel user SAP* and password PASS.
    4. Copy the client with transaction SCCL and profile SAP_CUST.
    5. Check the log files with transaction SCC3.
    6. Deactivate kernel user SAP*:
       a) Reset login/no_automatic_user_sapstar to 1.
    <b>Caution</b>
You create SAP system user SAP* on the new client
       before resetting
    <b>login/no_automatic_user_sapstar.</b>
       b) Restart the application server.
