CUA : To implement or not to Implement for Production

Hi all,
We have CUA implemented for our non production systems. The Basis team wants to implement CUA for our 5 production environments (R3, BW, CRM, SEM and APO). What are the pros and cons of implementing CUA in production? An opinion of someone who has CUA implemented at their company would be most helpful.

Hi Sashank!
We had a central user administration for a small 3-system landscape (from the beginning on).
Advantage: the central handling. Inconsistencies between the systems won't be a topic.
Disadvantage: Without experience it's possible to create quite a mess (once the user for distribution lost the authority to change profiles: nearly killed our system in this situation).
Also having different users and authorities in different systems is nothing which will be easier with a central maintenance - on the other hand it's not more difficult either.
Since your basis team has already experience with this tool, you can give it a go. We had no technical issues, only handling and organizational problems occured. Even workload was for a test system once a topic.

There is an error ocurring when the CIF is executed, this message I can see in the transaction SMQ1, the error " SR 053 - Creation not possible (Mapping for <product> already exists <product> ", the product really exists in APO but I don't know why this error occur because in this case the material should be updated. Anyone know why this error occur ?? and how can I fix ??
When I try to execute only this material in CFM2 no errors occur.

We did faced a similar problem. The reason was the external material number was different in both cases.
ie the already existing record has the external material number padded with '0000' and the one coming doesn't have leading '0000'

OSS Note 386896 (Substitution for call-up point 3) implementation in ECC 6

Hello Everyone,
We had implemented OSS Note 386896 (Substitution for call-up point 3 ('Complete document')) in our SAP system (Release 470).
Now weu2019ve upgraded to ECC 6 and are looking for an alternate solution as OSS 386896 is not valid in ECC 6.
Suggestions on any solution would be highly appreciated.

Please do the below.
Check the SAP Service market website and search for the OSS note, check the validity for the OSS note, if it is being already applied as a support pack or not,
Check if the release of the OSS note is valid for your ECC 6. If not then Raise a message with SAP and ask if there is any alternative note for this in the new release. SAP will respond to the query or can extend the validity of the note.

Re-implement a note that has been reset?

Hello,
Can you re-implement a note that has been reset? I am trying to but am getting error message "not all required corrections were implemented".
I deimplemented the note instead of trying to upload the new version of the note. Now I am stuck without any code correction, and cannot implement the note.

Batch Strategy for Production orders

Hi All,
I just wanted to find out that what are plant specific settings while implementing the batch determination strategy for Production orders? I have configured Batch determination and batch check for Plant A and Plant B. However, in Plant B, the system does not pick the batch automatically while in Plant A, it does. I have checked almost all the batch settings in SPRO but could not find any differences between plant A and plant B. Can anyone please guide me on this>?

Implementation of Note 660016 for Follow up Transactions in CRM 2007

Hi All,
   We have a requirement to not show all the business activities and tasks available in crm for all the transactions as follow-ups.
   For this reason we implemented the note - 660016. Now its working fine.. It is not showing business acitivities and tasks as follow-up transactions in the CRM GUI and Web UI 2007 for all the transactions.
   But when I create a business activity as a followup for ztransaction in define copying control for business transactions.. It is showing in the CRM GUI but not in the WebUI.
But at the same time when I create a service complaint as a followup for my ztransaction, I am seeing the service complaint as a follow up in both CRM GUI and Web UI.
   Is the implementation of this note restricting business activities and taks in WebUI forever or do I need to write any extra logic or is this any configuration issue ?

   Firstly, my problem is not with upgrade and
   the second thing is before implementing the note 660016, I am able to see both in CRM GUI and Web
   UI all the business acitivities and tasks along with other transaction types as follow-up transactions.
   After implementing the note, I am not able to see only the business activities and tasks in the Web UI
   as follow-ups and in CRM GUI, its appearing as follow-ups.
   Hope you got my question now...
   If this is not done in customization I need to code according to my scenario..
   When I kept a break point this class is triggering from another class.
   Do I need to code in the class CL_CRM_UIU_BT_ACT_CUST_GET, according to my scenario.
   Again I have a question here, will you please tell me in which component this class exists, so that I
   will enhance that component.
   Because when I debug after clicking on the Follow-Up button,this class is calling some where
   down...So I am unbale to get the right component for this.

Implementation of Note 80183 for Rounding: "QTY * Net Price = Net Value"

Dear All.
We're reviewing adding in note 80183 to handle some rounding issues.
Basically, our "QTY * Net Price = Net Value" is not adding up due to some rounding in determining the Net Price off the Net Value.
The note looks like the right answer, and there are already some very good threads posted on this topic.
What I'm hoping to find though is if someone has implemented the note, and what they found?
(1) Any issues encountered? Any impact to other functionality - Credit Checks, etc....
(2) Any additional changes needed to the alternative calculation type or alternative base value provided?
(3) Any additional requirements or customizations needed?
(4) Any issues with Account Assignment posting, or output (invoice or order confirmation)?
(5) General feedback on how easily implemented.

The note: 1668972 - ME 083: Enter Net Price for value contract w. future dates has been modified in Jan 2014 and the correction instruction for even EHP 6 is included. Please check whether the correction instruction 1417190 already exists in your system. If not, apply the note.
If you are getting the same error even after applying the note, you may raise an OSS ticket to SAP.

Need for Sap Notes Downloads & implement

Now for upgrade from 4.6B to CC 6 ,if note/notes for corresponding object in SPAU list is/are not present under Note Corrections root...Do we have to download it and then implement it ...IF yes then how does it get implemented for that particular object..is it automatically done or do we have to give Object Name and its details anywhere..Please do explain and elobarate on it.

OSS note automatically implements .. you need not give any object details...
to download and implement ..
use tcode SNOTE.
click on download button ..then enter required note number ..after download it'll be stored in 'New' tab... place cursor on note number then press 'F8'( execute button).
It automatically implement note..and creates transport request as well...

Z implementation not getting picked for BADI - MB_DOCUMENT_BADI

I have a done a z implemenatation for standard badi MB_DOCUMENT_BADI in ECC6.In Tcode MIIGO after giving 2 line items when i save it that Zimplemen is not getting picked.
In 4.6c the same Z implementation is getting picked.

Error while exporting to PDF - Operation not yet implemented

    We using C# Dot Net 2005 and Crystal Report for Dot Net 2005 and we are trying to export to PDF file. In one of the reports, we are using a Font "Shree-Kan-0850' from Shree Samhita, a SDK to build application in Indian regional languages. But we are getting an error as follows:-
"Error in File C:\Document~1....\{....}-.rpt: Operation not yet implemented.". When we tried in various sites and forums found that it was due to some non-standard fonts. We have checked that if we remove Shree-Kan-0850 font from report, it works fine and once included the error comes. So problem might by from this font. Whether Crystal report is not supporting other than Windows standard fonts or the problem with PDF? Because with same font we can export to DOC, XLS etc. Please guide us how to solve this?

Unfortunately, it looks like that font has many issues. Googling 'Univers Condensed Fonts .net' gets a number of interesting posts. E.g.;
Univers 67 Bold Condensed Font does not show in my Flash Fonts List
See if you can select the font in the properties window of the VS.NET IDE.
It would also be interesting to see if the following will work in a new test app:

The issue what I got is mentioned below..
During picking of a material that is subject to batch management using a WM transfer order, no other split items are created despite existing batch split items.
As a result, problems can occur during verification from a decentralized WMS with the IDoc SHP_OBDLV_CONFIRM_DECENTRAL (see also note 793754).
The error typically occurs if there are only batch split items with a quantity 0 for the item. This type of scenario may occur if the item has already been fully picked, a batch split created during acknowledgement and the split items then no longer contain a delivery quantity due to a return transfer.
When a new transfer order is acknowledged, the system does not recognize that split items are already available. As a result, the main item is mistakenly updated.
According to the Note 794017, the reason for this is a program error and the solution is to implement the source code corrections specified in said note corrections.
so for this issue I need OSS login id..that any how I will get it from my collegues, but here the problem is how to approach to this issue.It will be really appreciated if U help me out in solving the issue and please explain me step by step process as this is the first case I am handling..

I have setup an authentication source to import groups from our MS AD server. On running a job, I am getting the error below. The auth source does not pass a username/password since I am able to browse the AD anonymously. Problem while implementing OSS note 1077403

Hi,
I am trying to implement a OSS note ( 1077403) using SNOTE transaction. When I download the note, the status of this note is u201CCan be implementedu201D. It creates few standard programs which are utility programs related to Unicode conversion. While implementing this note, I am facing the issue "Objects can only be created in SAP package" and some of the objects in the note are not created. The note status becomes u2018Incompletely Implementedu2019.
Can you please suggest what could be the issue?

you can use transaction SNOTE to implement the version for Basis Release 6.20 and higher.

Operationg System : linux/Solaris
Oracle E-Business suite : 11.5.10
Oracle Application Server : 10gAS(latest availble)
Type of integration : SSO and OID with 11i
No third party SSO or LDAP
Qusetions
1.If my SSO Server is down can i login to applications(11i) using normal mode(default login http://servername.xxxx.com:8000/).
2. Is it possible to have appilications (11i) in Linux/Solaris and 10gAS in windows.
Please answer...

You couldn't login into server But You can use the following login
http://servername.xxxx.com:8000/AppsLocalLogin.jsp
For this you need to enable the Appslocallogin Profile option
