CUCM 4.1 bulk Configuration Export

Hello,
Is there any utility available to export CUCM 4.1 configration in Excel as we do in cucm version 7.x, 8.x and 9.x with bulk export utility.

You can BAT version 5.1(4) which is compatible with CUCM 4.1.x. Details of the export utility are explained in the link below

Also, if you use DMA it can only be used during the install of a linux based cucm version when it asks for the dma file during the initial stages of installation, the DMA tar file cannot be used anywhere else.

EMCLI is the tool to do bulk changes. I don't know exactly what you mean by bulk configuration but if you take a look at http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11857_01/em.111/e16185.pdf

How to create bulk configuration files from a template for staging?

Hello,
We have created a sample configuration for ISRG2 2901 Router. The sample configuration is long, and with copy/paste it is possible to skip some lines, and it is difficult to ensure the configuration of every device is standardized due to this error possibility. What we are trying to achieve is first create a template from this sample configuration file, and then create configuration files for each device seperately and automatically. After creating this configuration instances, we want to be able to distribute the configuration files (and possibly the ios) to the devices during the staging phase. Since there are about 1000 2901 routers, creating configuration files is important?
From searching we have found the following tools:
1) CCE (Cisco Configuration Engine): This tool seems to be very efficient for distributing the created configuration files. We may use the serial number of the device, and it provides almost zero touch provisioning of the configuration files to the devices. Creating the configuration file from the template seems to be manual, i.e enter the ip addresses of the interfaces, the routing tables one by one for each device. How can we use velocity template for device configs?
2) Ciscoworks LMS Prime: It is possible to create a baseline template for the devices, and after getting the backup configuration of the routers, it is possible to compare the actual configuration of the device with the baseline template, and understand if there is any difference with each other. This is indeed very useful in order to keep the configuration standardized, we again could not find a way to create bulk configuration files from the baseline template.
3) Solarwinds Config Generator: This tool is useful for creating a configuration file from a template, but again not for automatically creating configuration files, and needs manual intervention.
4) Excel Macro: It seems that some people have achived to automatically create configuration files with using an excel macro, but we could not find a procedure or tip of how to achieving this.
5) Pearl or TCL/TK Script: Again since we are not software developers but from networking field, it is difficult to achieve a working form of this scripts or codes due to to lack of documentation and development experience.
So our problem comes down to creating a template from a sample configuration, and creating bulk configuration files from the template. Is there a specific tool or procedure to achive this purpose?

PI 2.0 - Interface bulk configuration - Interface Roles

Hi,
I did some research on how to use CLI configuration template do bulk configure Ports depending on their Port description. I found the Interface Role definition located in "Design --> Shared Policy Objects" which seemed perfect to be used inside a configuration template. It is also written in the User Guide that Interface Roles can be used in configuration templates. The problem for me now is that i did not find out how to use Interface Roles inside custom CLI configuration templates!? The Interface Roles can be choosen inside some pre-defined templeats like the AVC template but apart from that i am not aware how to include Interface Roles in any custom configuration template!?
Does anyone have some experience with this or maybe a link to a more detailed documentation for creating configuration templates? All i found out about CLI templates so far is how to define variables!?

well let's see if port groups is the solution.
All the other things are just workarounds and we are confused how to treat LAN switches.
Our customers used templates for access switches to tell the device what is necessary to monitor. If prime does it from now, we should have the information what is necessary to configure on Switches.
I'll let you know, if we have the right answer.

Bulk Configuration of CUPC

Can someone please advise a method to add/configure bulk CUPC Clients and incorporate existing users to them on the fly.
Call Manager ver: 7.0.1
Cisco Unified Presence Server v8.0.1
Requirements: Configuring over a 100 CUPC softphones, which are using Cisco Client Services Framework, because CUPS is v 8.0 not v7.0. Only the call manager is v7.0
Adding 100 existing user to these created softphones.
Providing Licensing assignements in bulk for every user.
Updating this level of information in CUPS server, voicemail, CTI,...etc for each user.

Bulk Metadata Export Not Working!

I'm a longtime Aperture user and I ran into an issue today that I wasn't having before that latest update.
If I export one picture at a time the metadata transfers and I can read it in other programs. If I bulk export (select 24 or more shots) with the exact same settings (jpeg current size, transfer metadata) the metadate does not transfer.
Anoyone else run into this problem?

After I'd completed my export I would go to the folder and open ONE jpeg to check. That jpeg would not show keyword data. I would then check a few more files individually and had the same problem. However, if I did a 'select all' and opened Preview the keywords would show in the inspector. Preview does see the keyword data if I open one jpeg that was exported from Aperture by itself. I hope you followed that. At the end of the day it's not a problem with Aperture or and not much of an issue at all. Just an oddity that I can't explain.

Bulk API exports with 5m records

Hi,
I've just started using the bulk API. For our activity exports, we have >5 million records so when I run it (unfiltered apart from activity type) the sync stops at 5 million.
I am looking to get all of the records out, so I was wondering if anyone knew how best to do this.
'Offset' seems to work with the GETs but not with POSTing the export definition.
I have tried saying activity id > (the highest activity id from the first 5 million records returned) but this seems to leave gaps.
Likewise date > (the highest date in the first 5 mil).
It seems as though activity id & date only roughly tie up
Any advice appreciated!

Hi Wouter,
Have you considered making a standard contact filter that does this, and simply referencing that in your export definition? Admittedly, it's either going to be a manual process from the UI, or extra code in your app to automate the creation of a shared filter via REST API.
For reference, Bulk API 2.0 can do this via:
"filter": "'{{Contact.Field(C_FirstName)}}' = ''"

Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX) configuration export and import fails, files missing

<I don't see a board for MAX so I posted it here. I hope you don't mind.>
I am trying to migrate to a new computer and have successfully moved the LV code but it relies on the configuration setup in MAX to operate. There are many configuration items includes hardware configurations, scales, etc. I have LV 6.1 on Windows XP and MAX v 3.1.1 on both machines. When I export all data from computer 1, I end up with an NCE file. This file is binary. I've tried exporting to text format but have not succeeded.
When I try to import on computer 2, first MAX reports "Can not find RTE directory: C:\WINDOWS\system32\cvirte". This seems weird since I didn't install LW/CVI when I installed LV. I click OK. I then get "Unable to open c:\program files\national instruments\max\bin\cvirte.rsc". I click OK. I then attempt to import the data from the NCE file but get "This wizard does not recognize the specified configuration file."
I tried installing NI System Configurator v5.5.1f0 but get the same results.
How can I safely migrate the MAX configuration data?

Yes, MAX is also installed with the motion controller driver.
NI-DAQ 6.9.2 is over 10 years old. I simply don't remember what issues it had, sorry. Version 7.4.4 was the latest for XP. Perhaps that works better.
And the cvirte was required for some of the MAX features. It should have been installed automatically.

CUCM 9.1 Bulk Insert Remote Destinations with a +

If I try a bulk insert of remote destinations that begin with a + sign (eg +15552125555) I get the following error:
"A character to numeric conversion process failed"
If i create the remote destination manually it works fine so I know that the string can contain a + sign. and If I export the existing remote destinations the format is identical to my csv. Is there anything that needs to be done for it to correctly handle the + character?

CSV file attached. I've removed the identifyig information but this is what i exported from the call manager. If I try to import it back in it throws that error.

CUCM Session Management Edition Configuration Example

Basically think of it as a GK in old terminology, it will aggregate all the dial plans and you will direct anything you don't recognize to it for routing.

Cisco Jabber Guest can be pointed directly to Cisco Unified Communications Manager for lab deployments only. You must configure a SIP trunk on Cisco Unified Communications Manager for this deployment. This option is best suited to a lab deployment in which the goal is to familiarize yourself with Cisco Jabber Guest without the additional overhead of configuring Expressway. However, without configuring Expressway, Cisco Jabber Guest is not supported in a production environment."

Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.2 configuration export

I have a question about Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.2.
Is it possible to export all the configurations every day automatically in .cfg format to an external
server (preferably SCP or SFTP). Or any other way to export all the saved configurations from
the database automatically in .cfg format

You can export the configurations from the database via a manual process - you could probably script it and kick it off via cron if you are handy with that sort of thing.
The export process is explained in a post by Vinod Arya in the Prime Infrastructure Ask the Expert thread.

Apple Configurator export profiles

I have install the new Apple Configurator 1.5 and i have a profile that i want export, but i can't find how can export a profiles. I think in the older version i can do that?
Is this not possible?
Or where can find a older version of the Apple Configurator?

in Configurato, switch to the SUPERVISE tab, then click SETTINGS.
Select a profile.
Below the profile list you should see the standard IOS "Export" icon - looks like a square with an arrow pointing outwards. Click it.
That should do the trick!
