CUCM 7.0 Addendant Console on Windows 7?

We've been having problems getting Attendant Console working on Windows 7 for our CUCM (System version: 7.0.2.21900-10) environment.  We previously have Win XP machines working fine with the software and we're rolling out Win7.
On the plug-ins page on CUCM there's a download for CUCM Assistant Console which I believe is a separate application.  That can't connect to the CUCM server and I believe it's because CUCM isn't set up for it.
Can anyone help out?  To sum up, Attendant Console is currently working on two WinXP machines and we want to replace those machines with Win7 that also run Attendant Console.
Thanks!

STarting CUCM 7.0 , there attendant console is longer available on CUCM , it is only available on CUCM 7.0 if you are doing a
upgrade.
The replcaement is attendant console server which needs a seperate server and a license.
There are three types of attendant console server depending of the your need (Business , department and enterprise)

  • SunMC Console on Windows XP not connecting

    Hello,
I have just installed SunMC Center on my PC and attempted to login into the SunMC Server but get an error of communication could not be established, the server version may be incompatible.
I am able to connect using another PC, so my SMC server is up and the processes are up and fine. The working PC is on the same segment as my new PC, so I dont know what could be the issue with this PC thats not working.
Has anyone ran into this before? If so, what is not configured?
    TIA
    LR

    Hi,
I had this problem-it is not a firewall issue (I had the problem with
both the firewall on my PC and the server down) but seems
to be a weird software conflict.I posted a message on this some
    time ago (displayed below)..
Glad to see somebody else is also having this problem and it is not
just me.Anybody have the console on Windows XP working?
So far all I have found out is that port 23 of the SMC server is being
accessed by the SMC console on the PC (which is not working) but
on the laptop install of the SMC console it is not (this information is from
    firewall logs).
Both the SMC consoles on the Laptop and the PC are installed from
the same packages. Both have the same firewall settings, both report the same java version..
Needless to say if you get it working let us know how you did it.
    Cheers,
    Ian
    ====================================
I have been trying to get the Java based console
Working from my PC and have found the following
oddments. When I run it from my PC the console fails
with a message saying Communication could not be
Established with the server. The server version may be
Incompatible If I then get my laptop, which has the same
Operatating system, same firewall setup, same virus software,
    Same java :-
    java version "1.4.2_03"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.2_03-b02)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.4.2_03-b02, mixed mode),and the same smc software ,
remove my PC from the network and plug in my laptop in which has the
same IP address as my PC,the console software works! Does anybody have any
idea what could be preventing the console on the PC working whilst the
laptop is fine? I have a few ideas in that the console software installed on some
other pcs does not work as well so there appears to be something in common
Installed on the PCs (but not on the laptop) which is somehow stopping
the console from working. Now ,my pc is one inherited from the ghost of sys admins
Past but there is nothing as far as I can see which could cause some form of
Conflict-I am mainly focusing on Java based software..What I guess I will have to do
Is to uninstall as much software as I can and hope to eventually find the
    Culprit..

  • Installing Console on Windows 2000

Can anyone help, I think Im just being extremely dense here?
Am I right in assuming that in order to install the Iplanet Directory 5.1 console on Windows 2000, I have to download the software, or find the disk and do a custom installation, installing just the console?
    Thanks

Can I download the Windows 2000 binaries from sun.com? I currently dont have the disks, do you have a link?

  • CUCM 7.X NTP sync to Windows DC

How do I sync up CUCM 7.x ntp to a windows server? Thx

Depending on your Windows version, there are some registry settings you need to set:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\W32Time\TimeProviders\NTPServer\Enabled
Changing the ‘Enabled’ flag to the value 1 enables the NTP Server.
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\W32Time\Parameters\Type
Change the server type to NTP by specifying ‘NTP’ in the ‘Type’ registry entry.
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\W32Time\Config\AnnounceFlags
Set the ‘Announce Flags’ registry entry to 5, to indicate a reliable time source.
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\W32Time\Config\LocalClockDispersion
    Set 'LocalClockDispersion' to 0
The last one is most important one.
After changing registry, you need to restart "Windows Time" service.
Then you may go to CUCM > OS Administration > Settings > NTP Server to configure the time source(windows DC) address.

  • CUCM + VMware better on 64-bit Windows XP or Windows 7?

    HI there.
I did a cursory search for this and didn't find much. I have a feeling it may have been discussed so apologies if this is a duplicate post.
I'm prepping for the CCIE lab and I've always ran my CUCM 7x on my 64-bit Windows XP so I can install 16gb ram.
I recently upgraded a new desktop that has Windows 7 on it.
I'm wondering if anyone knows whether CUCM on VMware runs any better on XP or 7 as long as RAM and CPU are the same?
Is there are more efficient way that VMware works?
I'm currently using VMware Workstation 6.5.0  (I have a feeling someone is going to suggest ESX)
Finally, to settle an age-old debate amongst my Cisco friends, when running VMware, is it best to choose ONE or TWO processors?
I've heard many pple say many things without really a satisfactory answer.
    TIA!

    Thanks Chris,
I agree with you RAM memory is essentially the biggest bottleneck in VMware.
However, I discussed this with a few folks and one of them said the following:
    "Use 2003 Server Enterprise, 32-bit. It's faster than 64-bit."
I was surprised by this comment. I think he also said something that "VMware is actually optimized for 32-bit, not 64"
I'm not sure how true that is. Perhaps it was true 3-4 years ago.
So this goes back to my other question, which version of VMware is optimized for 64-bit? And, is it necessarily faster to run CUCM on 64-bit computer or 32-bit.
The RAM question has been resolved. Now it's just an issue of optimizing VMware with the OS.

  • Cannot install vmm2008 console on windows 8.1

    Hi,
I am trying to install SCVMM 2008 R2 console on Windows 8.1. And it refuses... Compatibility issues...
    It worked fine on W8.
Is there any workaround or it is just not supported (like 2012 VM in VMM2008)?
    Thanks.
"When you hit a wrong note it's the next note that makes it good or bad". Miles Davis

I was able to successfully install the VMM 2008 R2 console on my system without any issues on Windows 8.1. I just selected "Run the program without getting help" and everything installed just fine. Now, I have no idea if the console actually works as
I do not have a VMM 2008 R2 environment, but it appears to work. Just make sure that you have .NET 3 enabled on the system before install.

  • Console for window?

where exactly do I download/get a admin console
for window 2000? for 5.1 that is.
    thanks
    yan

    Hi Yan Zhu,
I am not aware of any standalone Admin Console 5.x. Therefore, the simpliest option would be to go to http://www.iplanet.com/downloads and to get the full iDS 5.1 version for Win 2000. Then, just install the console from it.
Internally, you may also find the iDS 5.1 binaries at: ftp://ftp-rel.red.iplanet.com/releases/servers (and Directory).
    Cheers / Damien.

  • 5.2 Console on Windows 2K SP4

I am having a problem running the Windows version of the 5.2 Console. I do not have the directory server itself on the Windows box -- the 5.2 admin server and the config directory server are running on Solaris. When I run the 5.2 Console on Windows I have no trouble seeing the 5.2 servers on Solaris. The problem comes in when I exit the Console. After that, my Windows machine locks up completely -- even the mouse cursor is frozen. As I mentioned in the subject, I am running Windows 2000 Service Pack 4. I also have the 5.1 version of the Console installed on my Windows machine. Has anyone else experienced this problem or have any idea what's going on?
    Thanks,
    Mike

I have no solution - I can only tell you that I am currently having a similar issue with 5.2 console on Win XP Pro - in that I can start and run the console with no issue - however the minute I close I get a blue screen. I haven't narrowed down the cause yet - but it appears to be an issue with my display driver ....

    Currently envinronment is
    1.CUCM 9.1
    2.IM & Presence 9.1
    3 AD 2012 R2
i have configured for Jabber for iPhone 9.6.1 and Window 9.7 and use UDS as service profile.
Everything working properly unless i can't use AD user for authentication it appear screen as can't locate server.
Local user in CUCM can login normally and confirm that all AD configuration in CUCM are configured (LDAP directory, authentication and even in service profile)and i can use AD user to login via CUCM and IMAP user option page which mean LDAP integration should be working fine. but i can't log in via Jabber for iPhone or Window.
When i look through CUCM IMAP 9.1 document in LDAP integration support list. it not show AD version 2012 so i am not sure it won't work because it not include in support list or not
This is Problem report from Jabber for iPhone with login user "test". It look like there is network connectivity problem but this client can ping and browse into IMAP correctly

  • Sccm console on windows 8.1 - window display issue

I'm currently using a surface pro 2 with win 8.1 enterprise (sccm is 2012 r2).  Overall the surface is a great piece of hardware.  One problem that I'm having is that the sccm console doesn't properly display wizard windows properly.  They
are cut off, horizontily starting at the entire cancel button and to the right.  Some times it is a vertical issue, and I can't get to tall the options on a screen.  Please see the SS for an example of both horizontal and vertical cut offs.
I had monkeyed with several setting on my profile, so I signed in with a different account that had no user profile on the machine....same issue.
It's frustrating that some things I need to do on a very regular basis I now have to rdp into the server in order to do.  Has anyone else seen this and does anyone have any ideas for a solution?

    Hi,
If I remember correctly that is a problem related to changing the Text Size to one of the below options.
Medium - 125%. This sets text and other items to 125% of normal size.
Larger - 150%. This sets text and other items to 150% of normal size. This option appears only if your monitor supports a resolution of at
    least 1200 x 900 pixels.
If you change this does it work then?

  • BUG - client-side iPad keyboard in MRD 8.1.5 is mis-mapped for remote VMware Player console on Windows 8.1 Pro

Client system: iPad 4 running iOS 8.1.1
    Client language/locale: US English
    Client app: MRD 8.1.5
Server system: 64-bit Windows 8.1 Pro
    Server language/locale: US English
Problem: client-side keyboard in MRD 8.1.5 does not work properly within VMware Player 6 console only
When interacting with VMs through the VMware Player 6 console app on the remote Windows 8.1 host, the client-side iPad keyboard for MRD 8.1.5 is not properly mapped. Letter keys and the top-row number keys send function keys or non-standard key scan codes
that aren't used by traditional PC keyboards. The spacebar sends the D key, and some keys send nothing at all. Many other keys work properly, including the client-side numeric keypad, and uppercase letters sent by using the Shift key (but not the iPad up-arrow
shift key). The only way to send the proper keystrokes to VMware Player from MRD 8.1.5 is to not use the client-side iPad keyboard and instead switch to the on-screen keyboard provided by the remote Windows server.
This problem only occurs within the VMware Player console app, and only with RDP connections that use the MRD 8.1.5 client on iOS. I do not encounter the problem with other iOS RD clients such as iFreeRDP by Thinstuff or Pocket Cloud Remote Desktop by Wyse.
    Steps to reproduce:
Connect to Windows 8.1 Pro system from the MRD 8.1.5 client for iOS 8.1.1
Using the client-side iPad keyboard within MRD 8.1.5, bring up the Run dialog by typing Windows-R
Launch Notepad by typing notepad.exe in the Run dialog and pressing Enter on the client-side iPad keyboard
Type some sample text in Notepad until you're confident that the client-side iPad keyboard is functioning properly
Launch VMware Player 6 and start up a VM (mine was Windows Server 2008)
Open the sign-on prompt in the VM by sending Ctrl-Alt-Ins from the client-side keyboard or by pressing the Ctrl-Alt-Del icon in VMware Player
Touch or click in the password field in the VM to ensure it has keyboard focus
Using the client-side keyboard, try to type letters or numbers in the password field, and notice that dots generally do not appear for most keypresses
Switch to the server-side on-screen keyboard and delete the contents of the password field if it is not already empty
Use the server-side on-screen keyboard to sign on to the VM
Inside the VM, open Notepad or some other text editor
Enter text into the editor from both the client-side and server-side keyboards to verify that only the server-side keyboard is functioning properly within the VM
This issue is the only problem I'm having with MRD for iOS, and I hope it is resolved soon.
    Thanks,
    Fred

This issue is the only problem I'm having with MRD for iOS, and I hope it is resolved soon.

I'm experiencing exactly the same problem. Is there a solution yet?

  • X-Fi THX console for windows vista? (need low pass to subwoof

Hi, back on XP the installation CD included a THX console that could be used to setup a LFE or subwoofer channel. Since I've "upgraded" to vista x64 I haven't been able to find a working version of this nor a workaround. I have a plugin for foobar which accomplishes this task; but, I'd like to take advantage of it while watching dvd's and gaming.
Does anyone know where I can find a THX console for Vista x64 or any other way to do this uni'versally?
    Thanks,
    Rob
ps: this is for the x-fi xtrememusic

Let me try to explain it again. First you install the old windows xp. Go to the sound blaster install folder. Look for the THX console folder. Save it to a disc. Install windows vista. Put the saved folder back on your computer it can be anywhere. Install the vista driver and then you will be able to open the .exe file in the THX Console folder and it should work. It works for me. Hope it works for you.
