CUCM 8.5.1 support CUE 8.6.7

Hi,
I am currently running cucm 8.5.1 and cue 8.6.1 in phone system and now I am looking to migrate cucm to 9.1 verison.
Becuase cucm 9.1 does not support CUE 8.6.1 so I need upgrade cue to 8.6.7 verion.
My planning is upgrade cue first and after that upgrade for cucm but I don't know is whether cucm 8.5.1 provides supports for cue 8.6.7 or not?
please advise!
(sorry my English is not good)
Best regards,
Tan

Hi Tan,
Jaime is correct, please check the following link
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/unity_exp/compatibility/cuecomp.html
It provides the details of compatibility of CUE 8.6.7, it is supported with CUCM 8.5.

  • 7821 and CUCM 8.6.2 Support

HI, i need support for 7821 phones on an 8.6.2 CUCM cluster; do i need to install the first device pack that give support to the phone or i can install the latest or any  newer device pack?
    Thank you.

Because you just installed the FW for the phone, installing FW HAS NEVER been the way to add support for new devices, support for new devices can only be achieved 2 ways, there's a 3rd option, but it's rare
    A) Upgrade to version with native support
    B) Install the DevPack
    C) For very, very few devices, there was a device enabler to add support for just one device, quite uncommon
So, to answer your question, yes, you need to install the DevPack on all your servers and then perform a cluster reboot. If you haven't read the README/RNs from the DevPack.

  • CUCM 8.6.2 - support IP Phone GXP2100 (Grandstream)

    Hi Guys,
My Customer have the CUCM 8.6.2 and would like know if the IP phone model GXP2100 (SIP) is supported for this version. I search in the Cisco site and not found this information. Is there any documentation Cisco about this?
    Thanks,
    Wilson

No, you should know by now that we don't test 3rd party phones, if it supports SIP, it might be configured as a SIP 3rd party endpoint. But you won't find anything besides the generic SIP 3rd party endpoint config on cisco.com, we won't provide instructions on how to configure the actual endpoint.

  • CUCM and Unity LDAP Support for Server 2008 R2

I am planning on upgrading our Primary DC from Server 2003 Standard to Server 2008 R2.  We current have 2 CUCM's version 7.1.5.31900-3 and 1 Cisco Unity version 7.0 (2).  Both reference LDAP and/or GC.  I need to know will everything break once I demote the 2003 DC.  I already have one 2008 R2 domain controller in place.  Also is the 2008 R2 domain functional level supported?

    Hi,
The directory hierachy for a backup taken using windows server backup will be something like this:
\WindowsImageBackup\<ServerName>\<Backup datetime>\<guid name>.vhd file along with some xml config files.
The directory heirachy above suggests the backup was not taken using Windows Server Backup, at least directly, if it is taken using some software scripted over windows server backup, the .chm file may belong to that software.
The .vhd file created by windows server backup is not mountable in readonly mode, it is mountable in readwrite mode only.
    Thanks,

  • Cisco Unity Express (NME-CUE) Compatibility for CUCM 9.1.2

I unable to find latest Compatibility matrix for Cisco Unity Express (NME-CUE) module for integrating with CUCM 9.1.2
The URL:  http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/unity_exp/compatibility/cuecomp.html is updated with CUCM 9.0 only.
Request to share Compatibility matrix or suggest Hardware and software for my below requirement.
I am running NME-CUE 7.0.6 on 2951 ISR2 with IOS version 15.2(4)M5 and integrated with CUCM 7.1.5 using SCCP.
I am upgrading my CUCM to 9.1.2 and need suggestion on upgrading the CUE.
Also need details on Licensing for approx 100 Mailbox and  25 Voice Ports (No need of IVR Ports).
    Thanks,
    Chandan

    Hi Chandan,
    CUE 8.6.6 and later are compatible with CUCM 9.1.x;
Support for Cisco Unified Communications Manager 9.1
Cisco Unity Express 8.6.6 provides support for Cisco Unified Communications Manager 9.1.
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/unity_exp/rel8_6/rel_notes/rel_notes86.html#pgfId-411381
    Because you are moving from a pre-7.1 CUE version you will need to follow the CSL License migration process;
NoteWhen you upgrade to Cisco Unity Express Release 8.6.x from any release prior to Cisco Unity Express Release 7.1, you must replace your pre-CSL licenses with CSL licenses. You must migrate your licenses for the mailbox features and port features. If you have purchased the optional IVR features, you should also migrate your licenses for the IVR features.

  • Does UCS C200 support CUCM only?

I am trying to install CUCM 8.5 and i am only given the option to install BE.
Is it possible to load just CxN or CUCM?

    Hi Michael,
CUCM 8.5 is supported on C200 M2 as you can see here http://docwiki.cisco.com/wiki/Unified_Communications_Virtualization_Supported_Applications and I have successfull installation of CUCM 8.5 on this type of server (note that the bootable DVD I have is with CUCM 8.5 on it only). Can you elaborate what is happening on your side - do you apply the required OVA template, etc.

  • [solved] mpd-cue failed to play to ESI Juli@ (hw:1,0)

    Hello, everyone.
Not so long ago I've found a great mpd with external cue-sheets support.
But I can't make it to play to my favourite soundcard.
    mpd.conf output section
    audio_output {
    type "alsa"
    name "My ALSA Device"
    device "hw:1,0" # optional
    format "44100:16:2" # optional
    message from error.log
Jan 11 21:12 : ALSA device "hw:1,0" does not support 16 bit audio: Invalid argument
    Jan 11 21:12 : problems opening audio device while playing "downloads/Helios - Eingya (2006) Lossless/Helios - Eingya.flac?startms=1600920&stopms=1893066"
    Playing to hw:0,0 is ok.
Is there any way to fix this? Maybe there are people, who has patched new versions of mpd to support cue?
    Thanks in advance.

Hmmm... Sounds interesting. But I tried to build it with --enable-cue option, and it doesn't see my external cuesheets. Have I missed something?
As for my problem: mpd-cue plays almost fine via oss compatibility alsa plugin. Even, I guess and hope, resampling isn't used.
it does not need any options, its a playlist plugin. In theory (theory, because i havent tried it yet) you have the cue in the same dir as your wav/flac/whatever files and then do a "mpc load relative/path/to/file.flac" (yes, flac, dunno why)

  • User License for Cisco CUCM 7.1.3

    Hi
I need 30 unit license for Cisco Communication Manager 7.1. But I found that it's already  end of sale.
I want the unit license part number for cisco cucm 7.1.3 version.
And i found revised part numbers for user license (CUCM-USR-LIC ) but those for 8,x versions. If i purchase that will it support in CUCM 7.1.3?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
CUCM 7 is already end of sale.
CUCM 7.1.5 supports UCL.If we refer the ordering guide of CUCM 8.5, you can get UCL licenses [Basic/essential].
    http://www.cisco.com/web/partners/downloads/partner/WWChannels/technology/ipc/downloads/UC_8_6_OG.pdf
What I think if u place the order , you should get the licenses and at the backened, it would be DLU.
You can also speak to Cisco SE for further clarity.

  • Can we have call conference using G729 in CUCM 8.0.3

    Hi,
whether cucm 8.0.3 support conference when codec is g.729.In earlier versions of CUCM  I know that conference is supported only in G.711 codec.
If it is not supported in 8.0.3 , whether we have an alternate solution.
    Scenario.
This is a contact centre setup using CVP version 8.0 ,UCM version8.0.
Agent wants conference  call between IVR and customer. The  agent is in  remote location from server connected through WAN..All servers incuding CUCM are located in same location . We use g.729 codec across WAN

The SW CFB from CUCM only supports G711 in ANY CUCM version.
Your options are either a HW CFB, XCODER or switch all to G711.

  • Unity Express 8.6.7 intgration with CUCM 10?

I'm working on a 2911, with a ISM-SRE-300-K9 running CUE 8.6.7 (confirmed clean install).  The CTI Ports are not registering with CUCM, all the steps have been triple checked, yet they don't register.
The CUE talks to CM fine and pulls the 4 CTI Ports we configured on CUCM, but if you click the 'show available ports in CUCM" it immediately crashes the CUE and it reboots.
I have a case open and it may be a bug, but wanted to see if anyone here has CUE working with CUCM 10.
    Thanks-

Yes, confirmed that is all correct.
The ports don't register and when you click "expand to also show available ports on cucm" the CUE crashes:
CRASH appsServices startup startup.sh System has crashed. The trace buffer information is stored in the file "atrace_save.log". You can upload the file using "copy log" command
if I enable jtapi debugs, it just says out of service:

  • CIPC 7.0.5 compatibility with CUCM 9.1

    Hi
I'm trying to figure out if Cisco IP Communicator 7.0.5.0 is compatible with CUCM 9.1
All i can find is the "Cisco Unified Communications System Release Summary Matrix for IP Telephony" but this matrix is "turned upside down" from my question.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/uc_system/unified/communications/system/versions/IPTMtrix.html
    /Tony

    Hi Tony,
It may work with CUCM 9.1 but with some limited functionality as it has not been tested with CUCM 9.1. Please check the release notes of the CIPC 7.0.x version
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cipc/7_0/english/release/notes/CIPC70_RN.html#wp116331
Highest callmanager version listed is 8.0
Ideally you should be using version 8.6 or higher
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cipc/8_5/english/release_notes/CIPC_Release_Notes_8_6_chapter_00.html#CIPC_RF_S79BC94C_00
It clearly lists cucm 9.1 as supported cucm version.

  • Cucm 9.1.2 and Active Directory(Windows Server 2003 Standart Edition SP2)

      Hello!
Can CUCM 9.1.2 support an integration with Active Directory(Windows Server 2003 Standart Edition SP2)? How do I have to write down LDAP Manager Distinguished Name? I can find supporting only Active Directory 2003 in documentations without reference to Operation System.

    Yes, it is possible.
Check this how-to if you have any doubts about the process.

  • Paging Facility Using CUCM 9.1

    Hello,
I wanted to know if cisco cucm 9.1 natively supports the paging facility ? atleast point to point ?? I have read some documents which says that I have to purchase a thord party software which integrates with Cisco called SINGLE WIRE.
    Thanks

CUCM natively has had an intercom feature since version 7.0.1 but still does not have native paging.  For a more robust paging solution you are correct that Singlewire is available for use with CUCM.  Singlewire is free for basic paging for up to 50 phones.  You can download the OVA from cisco.com here http://tools.cisco.com/squish/b4cb6.  From Singlewire's site you can find more about this and what is included with basic paging,

  • TFTP server other then CUCM !

    Hi all.
In case of CME or CUCM, where both of them are required to generate phone specific xmls for manually added phones, is it possible to define windows/linux system as tftp server to serve these files ?
If yes, how the files shall be copied from CME/CUCM to that tftp server ?

    Hi John
Yes, it's possible. But as you've pointed out, keeping an external TFTP server up to date with config files and all the other stuff (ring files, moh files, firmware loads etc) is not trivial.
In later versions of CUCM the phone loads support a 'load' server. You can put the TFTP load files (which are more static that config files) on their and have the phones download firmware from there, but config from CUCM.
The bottom line is that (at least in my opinion) it's generally not a great idea. Let CUCM or CME do it; they're perfectly capable, and if you have a CUCM system that is big enough to warrant it, you can have a CUCM as a dedicated TFTP server.
    Regards
    Aaron
