CUCM 9.1 and Lync 2010 final leg....

I am trying to integrate CUCM 9.1 (Cisco CallManager) and Lync 2010. The flow is this:
Provider --- CUBE ----- CUCM ---- Lync
Wanting to use both Lync and CUCM together (since the investment is on the Cisco side at this point)
I can do the following:
1.) Given all calls to Cisco IP phone works correctly.
2.) Incoming calls will ring both Cisco IP Phone and Lync phone (can answer either one). Doing this via SIP URI on CUCM
3.) Lync will dial Cisco extensions (4 digit).
4.) Cisco IP Phone can dial normal extension and Lync phone will ring.
4.) However, cannot dial out from Lync to local or long distance numbers.
In looking at the log info from Lync – seems that of course it is passing the +18xx2xx9xxx;ext=5xxx;ms-skip-ml (this is found is the P-Preferred Identity of the log) Also notice the number and extension are different by one digit.
I am pretty sure that when CUCM gets the call, it is expecting four digit extension instead of the 18xx2xx9xxx.
So I guess my question is simple, I hope – how I can send the 4 digit extension (5xxx) only from lync to CUCM? And where does this rule need to be set up - Dial/Voice/PSTN/Trunk? RegEx examples would be most appreciative.

Hi,
Agree with Holger Bunkradt.
Lync Server 2013 can change outgoing call number to different format from E.164 format to match the rule for Media Gateway or PSTN providers.
You can do it with Lync Server Control Panel—Voice Routing—Trunking Configuration.

We're trying to set up sync between Sharepoint and AD so photos are displayed in Lync.
The certificate referenced in 8311 is not the sharepoint root cert, its the UCC cert with our FQDN of the site. sharepoint.domain.com
Is this causing the problem with the sync and holding up the photos?
I have tried several proposed fixes, it hasn't helped.

  • Lync 2013 multitenant hosting pack and lync 2010 on-prem - coexistence options, alternative migration scenarios

In post http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/lync/en-US/8a22eed7-cc63-4f9e-b422-3c5a57fb32b0/lync-2013-multitenant-pack-and-lync-2010?forum=lyncdeploy , which was already answered, the answer is no, you cannot migrate from 2010 on-prem. to lync 2013
    hosted pack.
Trying to get my head around #1 -why, and #2 -what other alternatives are available.
Lisa answered that there can only be 1 CMS per forest.  Is it one CMS per forest, or
one CMS per front end pool in a forest? Meaning you can have different CMS pools. If that were true, we could migrate users to a different front end pool in a coexistence scenario between 2010 on-prem to 2013 hosted pack.
    Has anyone done this?
This is tough. I guess a cutover then from 2010 to 2013 multitenant hosted pack would be what?
    1. Uninstall 2010, decommission users, decom environment/servers.
    2. Fresh install in same AD environment of 2013 hosted pack.
That's tough for our users to make such a transition and have potentially days of downtime.
Is there no other way to do this?
    Josh

It is one CMS per forest.
There is no official guide to move from Microsoft Lync Server to Microsoft Lync Server Multitenant Hosting Pack.

  • Lync 2013 Cumulative Update and Lync 2010 CM database ??

I was going through the update process for our new Lync 2013 Enterprise install,  I just have a FE server up at this point.  I ran the LyncServerUpdateInstaller and it ran fine.  I then ran through the Backend SQL updates, and of course I
get to the end and read...
Note In a coexistence environment that contains both Lync Server 2010 and Lync Server 2013 in which the Central Management Service is located on a Lync Server 2010 pool, do not run the
Install-CsDatabase -CentralManagementDatabase cmdlet. If you later move the Central Management Service to a Lync Server 2013 pool, you have to run the
Install-CsDatabase -CentralManagementDatabase cmdlet to apply the changes.
And yes we have a Lync 2010 Standard server running and the CM DB is on the Lync 2010 pool.   I haven't noticed any problems yet, Do I need to be concerned about this?  And if so how do I fix it?  I only have a test account on the Lync
2013 server at this point.  So I could uninstall if needed.
    Thanks,
    Matt

    Hi,
As I know, it better to move the Central Management Store from Lync server 2013 database back to Lync server 2010 database firstly. Then if needed, you can uninstall the Lync server 2013 database.
You can refer to the link below:

  • Topology Merge Failing between OCS 2007 and Lync 2010

A brief about the issue. I read
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg412949.aspx which tells to run
Set-CsSipDomain -Identity fabrikam.com -IsDefault $True to make additional domain as default domain.
Want to know the exact procedures before I need to follow without affecting the existing set up before merging the topology again.
We have OCS 2007 in production where abc.company.com is primary sip domain and company.com is additional sip domain.
Recently installed Lync 2010 with primary sip domain as company.com and abc.company.com as additional sip domain.
Tried to merge both the topology after installing CU and OCS backward compatibility tool on Lync 2010 and it ended up with below error.
System.Management.Automation.CmdletInvocationException: The value of default domain in “Office Communications Server 2007” / “Office Communications Server 2007 R2” is “abc.company.com”. The value of default domain in Lync Server 2010
is “Company.com”. These values need to be equal before you continue merging the topology.

Run on the Lync Front End
    Set-CsSipDomain -Identity abc.company.com -IsDefault $True
This won't impact any existing users on Lync tied to company.com sip address space.
Then launch the Lync Topology builder again, you should see the updated default SIP domain.
Run the OCS Merge again, after decommissioning OCS switch the primary domain back to company.com (if you switch the sip domain prior to decommission and need to run merge again, you'll have to set-cssipdomain)

  • Need assistance creating applications with superseedence to uninstall Office 2010, Lync 2010 and then install Office 365 click to run 2013

We are getting ready in a few months to uninstall our locally installed Office 2010 and head to the cloud with Office 365 2013. I have created applications to uninstall Office 2010 and Lync 2010 and then added them to the supersedence tab for Office 365
office 2013 click to run with appv5.
When deploying the office 365 2013 application it does not uninstall office 2010 or lync 2010 with the supersedence.  I am able to manually uninstall Office 2010 and Lync 2010 with the command lines I am using in the applications.
The application uninstall for Office 2010 is:
The application uninstall is an exe so I created an application, created a deployment type with the location of our Office 2010 admin point, installation program and uninstall program are set with the same line as I have tried to deploy it separately and
also as a supersedence in the Office 365 application setup.exe /uninstall ProPlus /config "\\sccmserver\share\Office2010\ProPlus.ww\silentuninstallconfig.xml.  The silentuninstallconfig.xml was created from the original config.xml file and edited
    to these settings:<Configuration Product="ProPlus">
     <Display Level="none" CompletionNotice="NO" SuppressModal="yes" AcceptEula="yes" />
     <Setting Id="Reboot" Value="Never" />
     <Setting Id="SETUP_REBOOT" Value="NEVER" />
     <OptionState Id="ProductFiles" State="Local" Children="force" />
     </Configuration>
The detection method is the folder path to see that office 14 exists.  When I deploy this the machines finish with success showing this exists, but does not uninstall Office 2010.
running the command line manually mapped to this location on a machine uninstalls office 2010 without issue.
    Lync 2010 uninstall:
Lync is an exe so I am using the LyncSetup.exe /silent /uninstall.  The application is in the supersedence tab for Office 365 2013. This never installs.  If I create a softare distribution and deploy it on its own it uninstalls without issue.
We are going to use Lync 2013 with our office 365 2013 installation so we need to uninstall this.  The detection method for lync is file system folder and the Microsoft lync folder for detection.
MS Office 15 (Office 365) was created with the click to run tool.  I can install this with the application I created using the appv5 package created with the click to run tool.  The issue is we need Office 2010 and Lync 2010 uninstalled first.
Having both versions of Office installed in test has caused issues where Office 15 365 will not list in add and remove programs and cannot be uninstalled even with the fix it article to remove office 2013.
I have looked at many articles and so far it is not working for us.  Any help appreciated to get us to the cloud.
    Thanks,
    Brit

The applications I have for uninstall of office 2010 and Lync 2010 for some reason do not uninstall. Manually testing the command lines they do.  The detection method seems to be hanging things up.  On the lync uninstall detection method I have
the setting type of file system, type folder, path c:\program files\ folder name Microsoft Lync.
I highly recommend using something other than a file/folder "exists" detection method. Installers are constantly leaving things behind due to environmental inconsistencies. It may leave files/folders behind with a schedule to delete files on next reboot.
These things are unpredictable and very hard to use. I just use the "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall" Registry location. There you can actually key off the "Product Version" DWORD as well which gives you an even more accurate method
to determine if the application you are trying to deploy (or expect to exist) is truly there. This, of course, being if you are not using an MSI. If you have MSI technology ALWAYS use the product code unless the person writing the MSI chooses to use the same
product code for every version release of their product. In which case, Use the registry method.
As far as getting the supersedence and everything working. You need to start from the basics. Create Applications for all of the apps you want to remove. Make sure they install and uninstall properly (seems like overkill but it isn't that hard). Once you
have working install/uninstall applications then you can easily apply supersedence to your new applications with a setting of Uninstall on the superseded apps you should have no problem getting rid of them. I have done this for numerous things.
For example, I did this with Cisco Jabber to replace older versions of jabber, older versions of cisco unified personal communicator and lync and OSC. All of these replaced versions had to have an Application but once it was in it took two seconds to apply
all the supersedence rules and now I know when I push that software out no matter version is running on any machine it will pull all the old apps off and put the new one on.

  • Lync 2010 and MCU Autoattendant no DTMF

I have an issue with Lync 2010 and MCU integration. According to the Microsoft Lync 2010 and Cisco VCS Deployment guide for VCS 7.2 and Lync 2010, we created a static route to route MCU calls to the “Lync gateway” VCS so as to dial into the MCU Autoattendant. I am able to start a video call to the Autoattendant from Lync but the Lync dial-pad either disappears and/or the DTMF does not work. The Lync client displays “There was a problem sending the tone”. Has anyone came across this issue?
    Regards,
    Marcus

That is very interesting! I have not seen this behavior, however I suspect it will have something to do with Lync and its integration with MAPI. While Lync is open it will have an active and authenticate MAPI connection, and as a result when you open Outlook
it sees that authentication has already occurred and a MAPI connection active.
What might be an interesting test is to boot the computer, open Lync first, it should prompt you for MAPI authentication (Lync by default will authenticate to the default outlook profile), once authenticated open Outlook and see what happens.
Let me know what you find.

  • Mixed environment migration (OCS\Lync 2010 to Lync 2013) retaining BES Integration

    Hi All,
I have an existing OCS 2007R2 and Lync 2010 environment which contains BES Collaboration for Enterprise IM on Blackberry devices. I want to migrate this environment to Lync 2013 whilst retaining the BES integration. Understanding that tri-existence is not supported
I've been going through the process of decommissioning all of my legacy OCS servers, which I have now completed, in readiness for starting the Lync 2013 deployment and prepping AD.
Here's my issue - The BES collaboration service was integrating with an old OCS CWA server. I removed the CWA server and migrated the Collaboration service to a new server so that I could configure it to directly communicate directly with the Lync 2010 pool,
however I still needed to install OCS components on the new server in order to achieve that integration. Now I've run the final step of Merging the OCS 2007R2 Topology with the Lync 2010 topology in preparation for deleting the BackCompatSite, the old OCS
servers have gone, but the new Collaboration server has now appeared as a trusted application server within the BackCompatSite. I've done an LDIFDE export of the RTC Service container and have had a look through the contents. I can see that the new BES Collaboration
server is there and that it has an msRTCSIP-TrustedServerVersion value of 4, whereas all the Lync 2010 values are 5, which I'm guessing is what the Lync Topology is using to establish that the BackCompatSite needs to be populated with that Trusted Server entry.
So my question is this - What do I need to do in order to successfully remove the BackCompatSite entry and migrate my environment to Lync 2013 whilst retaining integration with BES and keeping the Enterprise IM service service running on Blackberry devices?
Here's some options that I've thought about - Using ADSIEdit to remove the Trusted Server Application for the new BES Collaboration server so I can merge the Topology and delete the BackCompatSite, although will this break the Enterprise IM service? Temporarily
changing the value of the msRTCSIP-TrustedServerVersion for the Collaboration server from 4 to 5, merging the Topology, deleting the BackCompatSite and then changing the msRTCSIP-TrustedServerVersion back to 4 afterwards? Over a weekend\out of hours, removing
the BES Collaboration server and service altogether, going through the Topology merge\BackCompatSite deletion and then reinstalling the Collaboration service?
Has anyone else gone through this process, or got any advice\experience to pass on before I start working through my list of options?

I've asked this question several times:
Does the 2007 R2 CWA server count as tri-coexistence?
I've asked that both in MCM rotations and directly of people on the PG and the answer is always something along the lines of "nope, it's a trusted app server and not a pool".  When I've run into this issue in other deployments, we simply left the backcompatsite
    in the deployment into production.
I've never found the above as a publically approved statement just something I've asked previously and been told is OK to do.  This is one of those situations that will work but was most likely not tested.

  • Lync 2013 domain discovery not working, but Lync 2010 works flawlessly

We are using Lync 2013 and Lync 2010 in our company. Upon installation Lync 2010 can connect absolutely fine with for example [email protected], but when we use Lync 2013 we receive a DNS error saying it cannot resolve the domain when using the same
method. I have to manually enter the internal and external servers on each deployment of Lync 2013 to sipdir.online.lync.com:443 in order for successfully login to Lync 2013. We are upgrading all users to Lync 2013 and I want to avoid having to do this
on every deployment. This has always been an issue and not something that recently became an issue.
I have double checked my CNAME and SRV from my host provider and everything is as it should be. Contacting MS support they made me change my preferred DNS to 8.8.8.8 on the network adapter for the PC, but that breaks everything you connect to internally and
is not a solution to this issue.
    Any ideas?

    Hi,
The forum you posted is for Lync Server On Premise only. The issue is more related to Lync online, you can also post a question on Office365 forum for assistance. Thank you for your understanding.

  • Why can't I copy contacts' email address from their name card in lync 2010

so here is the issue I have, when I need to copy someone's email addresses or their phone numbers, normally I will find them on lync, move the cursor on them, and their name card will show up, then I move cursor to their email address or their phone numbers,
right click it, there will be an option to "copy", right? but sometimes, right clicking doesn't work. that copy option just won't pop up, this issue happens randomly, I need to restart lync, then it will work again. Also, there is one thing
that's weird, after I restart lync, whatever I have copied in the clipboard will disappear, like if I press ctrl+c to copy something from word, then this issue happened, I restart lync, I can copy information in lync name card again, but all that
content I copied does not exist in clipboard anymore, I press ctrl+v, there is nothing coming out.
this is not a big problem, but it's really annoying, does anyone know why this issue happen and how to permanently? I tried to reinstall, does not work.
this issues happens with both lync 2010 32 bit on 32 bit win7 and lync 2010 64 bit on win7 64 bit.

The problem is happening so far on three Windows 7 computers that used to be able to open Lync, but not anymore. Click the program icon to launch the program and the sign in box appears but Lync stalls at contacting server and signing in. A Lync message
appears, "Cannot sign in because the server is temporarily unavailable.  If the problem continues, please contact your support team."
    Steps taken to resolve
    1) Verified the certificate hadn’t expired
    2) Deleted communicator folders in both folder locations, c:\users\username\app data\local\microsoft and c:\users\username\app data\roaming\microsoft
    3) Deleted the SSID folders
    4) Tried the manual configuration to connect to Lync by entering the sip domain name for the internal and external server names
    5) Restarted pc, and also shut down the pc.
    6) Logged onto a different pc as myself and Lync 2010 opens for me.  When another end-user log onto my pc, they duplicate the same issue with Lync stalling and not opening and receive the same error message.
    7) Uninstalled and reinstalled Lync

    Hi,
Please double check if the client trust the CA that issued the certificate on Lync server.
Please disable firewall on your issued local workstation to check if the issue caused by ports.
    Best Regards,
