CUCM 9.1 BLF configuration

Hi All,
I am trying to configure the BLF for my CIPC but is not working. What are the other things that need to be set before this can work?

No, BLF call list parameter enables presence status when searching users via corp directory or looking through call logs on the phone. I recommend enabling it as it does not hurt, but is not needed for what you were looking to do.

  • CUCM Session Management Edition Configuration Example

    Hello:
Can somebody help with an example of configuration of the session management edition installed in a CUCM version 9 that has to be the central for dial plans and pstn access, it has work with other CUCMs version 9 (leafs)......i will appreciate if you can send an example or even a configuration guide, deployment guide, etc....
    Best Regards
    Bruno Lara

You can find a lot of into on it if you search cisco.com
    https://www.ciscolive.com/online/connect/sessionDetail.ww?SESSION_ID=6107&tclass=popup
Basically think of it as a GK in old terminology, it will aggregate all the dial plans and you will direct anything you don't recognize to it for routing.

  • CUCM and Jabber guest configuration

    Hi Everybody ,
I would like to ask the cucm and jabber guest how configuration, I can't find the document to cisco.

    Hi,
As per the link that i shared "In a production environment, Cisco Jabber Guest requires that your Cisco Unified Communications Manager be configured to work with Cisco Expressway.
Cisco Jabber Guest can be pointed directly to Cisco Unified Communications Manager for lab deployments only. You must configure a SIP trunk on Cisco Unified Communications Manager for this deployment. This option is best suited to a lab deployment in which the goal is to familiarize yourself with Cisco Jabber Guest without the additional overhead of configuring Expressway. However, without configuring Expressway, Cisco Jabber Guest is not supported in a production environment."

  • CUCM 4.1 bulk Configuration Export

    Hello,
Is there any utility available to export CUCM 4.1 configration in Excel as we do in cucm version 7.x, 8.x and 9.x with bulk export utility.
    Thanks
    Saurabh

    Hi Saurabh,
You can BAT version 5.1(4) which is compatible with CUCM 4.1.x. Details of the export utility are explained in the link below
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/bat/5_1_4/bat_exp.html
Also, if you use DMA it can only be used during the install of a linux based cucm version when it asks for the dma file during the initial stages of installation, the DMA tar file cannot be used anywhere else.

  • Require to configure CUCM and Gateway router PRI for 200 users

    Hi all,
My current scenario is like this:
We have two CUCM servers(7.1) in reduandancy. One is publisher and other is subscriber. We have a gateway router 2921 with a single PRI card. We have 200 IP Phone users. Currently the problem is we have only 30 telephone lines. So with the help of DID configuration. We assign thirty ports to thirty users. Now these thirty users are able to to make an outbound call and recieve an Inbound call. Now I also want to create a pattern in which we dedicate 10 channaels for other 120 users to make an outbound call. And restrict 50 users to not make an outbound call. So we require such a scenario.
    Total 200 Users:
    1. First 30 users. Able to make an outbound call and also able to recieve an inbound call.
    2.  Next 120 Users. Able to make an outbound call. But not able to recieve an inbound call because of PRI restriction. Because we only have a thirty numbers. Dedicate 10 channels for them.
    3. Last 50 users. Not able to make an outbound call. And also not able to recieve an Inbound call.
So I need a configurations of Gateway router and PRI. And also of CUCM in which we could define such a pattern.
    Regards,
    Ali Raza

    Ali,
The outbound call restrictions can be implemented using the CUCM Calling Search Space configurations.  A basic example to illustrate:
Partition 1:  internal_pt   (only internal patterns)
Partition 2: phones_pt (ip phones on your network)
    Partition 3: pstn_pt (off net patterns/external)
    CSS1: Offnet_css
    internal_pt
    phones_pt
    pstn_pt
    CSS2: Onnet_css
    internal_pt
    phones_pt
You place all patterns that can reach off net in "pstn_pt". Phones that are using CSS2 cannot reach off net.  The above example is leveraging the device CSS for all call routing decisions.Using this approach, you would assign "onnet_css" to phones that can only dial internally. NOTE: I am just using a basic example here and not suggesting you use this PT/CSS config "as is".
There is another approach where you "allow" all patterns on a device and "restrict" on the line. For example:
Partition 1:  internal_pt   (only internal patterns)
Partition 2: phones_pt (ip phones on your network)
    Partition 3: pstn_pt (off net patterns/external)
Partition 4: block-pstn_pt (blocking patterns for pstn)
    CSS1: AllPhones_css
    internal_pt
    phones_pt
    pstn_pt
    CSS2: restrict-pstn_css
    block-pstn_pt
Again, pstn_pt contains all pstn patterns.  The block-pstn_pt would also contain off net patterns. The difference is that in the block-pstn_pt all patterns would have the "Block this pattern" flag enabled. All phones would have a Device Level CSS of AllPhones_css.  Phone lines where you wanted to restrict off net dialing would have a Line Level CSS of restrict-pstn_css.
Just a quick refresher, when a phone LINE goes off hook to dial the CUCM is using the "Line Level CSS" + "Device Level CSS" to make the routing decision.  So, assume Line 1 on Phone A has restrict-pstn_css and the phone Device Level CSS is AllPhones_CSS. The Effective Search Space is:
    1. block-pstn_pt
    2. internal_pt
    3. phones_pt
    4. pstn_pt
So, if we assume that block-pstn_pt contains patterns that override patterns in pstn_pt then you can effectively block off net access to Phone A, Line 1.
Why would this be a good approach?  Well, what if you had a need to restrict Line 1 on Phone A but allow Line 2 on Phone A.  Using line level restrictions is much more flexible. Especially if you have more than 2 options you need to consider.
As far as inbound restrictions. If a phone line doesn't have a DID then you have achieved your objective.
The part I can't answer is reserving 10 specific channels for one group of users. I do not believe this is possible.
    HTH.

    Bill

  • CUCM 8.6.1 Refresh upgrade to 10.5 fails with Internal Error (Function: ipmReadNormalizedInputLine) [SOLVED]

    Hi,
we are upgrading our CUCM 8.6.1 to 10.5.1 on VMWare Enviroment (vSphere 5.5 running on UCS).
We are running this upgrade in a sandbox, in order to avoid any problem in the production cluster.
We followed the refresh upgrade guide ( http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/upgrade/10_0_1/CUCM_BK_U4214F9D_00_upgrade-guide-cucm-100.pdf)
    Pre-configuration steps
Take a clone of the running publisher and put it in the sandbox
Remove DNS servers (they are not available in the sandbox)
Change the NTP Server with a ntp that is recheable from the sandbox
Check that Gateway and NTP connectivity are OK for the CUCM
    Pre-upgrade:
Run the cop files to update keys and increase disk space (log partition is 80% full)
    Shutdown the CUCM VM and
Increase disk space on the VM configuration
change VM OS from RedHat5 (32bit) to RedHat 6  (64bits)
change VM nic from flexible to VMNIX3
    Restart the VM
    Upgrade
    1. mount the iso
    2. connect to OS Administration web interface and perform the Software installation from CD/DVD
    3. upgrade process works fine up to the post-installation task
During post-installation tasks (after completing the DB Load and Transforming Copy) the Upgrade process always fails fails with an internal error

    - from 9.1 to 10.5: Failed with the same error
    - from 9.1 to 10.1: Failed with the same error
any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks

  • How to move phones from one CUCM server to another?

How easy is it to migrate IP phones from one CUCM server to another?
    The situation is this:
A vessel currently sitting in dry dock has 14 IP phones onboard which currently register with a CUCM server half way round the world (literally). As you can imagine there is quite a fair amount of delay for the signal processing, not to mention the connectivity being over a VSAT link. This being a temporary solution.
A CUCM server has been configured and installed on the vessel with all the relevant partitions, route patterns, trunks etc. The phones have also been added to the new server ready for migration. The only real thing that will be different when the phones are migrated is the Directory Number on each phone. Both CUCM servers are running software version 7.1.3
The phones currently pick up their local IP addresses via a local DHCP server which assigns 150 TFTP Server IP Address for the remote CUCM server. Is changing the the TFTP Server IP address to the local CUCM server enough to have the phones register with the local server.
This is not something I've tried before so would appreciate feedback or any comments that may indicate anything I missed along the way.
    Thanks,
    Ric

    Hi Ricardo,
On the DHCP scope created for the voice vlan change the Option 150(TFTP Server IP address) to the new CUCM and remove/delete the remote CUCM IP address just to ensure that phones once after registering to the new CUCM will not fetch any config from the remote CUCM as the DN's of the phones are changed on the new CUCM please ensure this.
Apart from this i dont see any challenges as the firmware of the IP Phones will also remain same as CUCM version is same.
    Hope that helps.

  • NAT between IPIVR (or UCCX) and CUCM?

    Hi,
i would like to know if NAT between IPIVR (or UCCX) and CUCM is allowed? (with ASA only or also router and switch).
I didn't find anything about it in UCCX SRND.
    thanks
    [IPIVR v8, CUCM v7.1(5).]

    Hello,
    1) Yes, please use sip trunk as the interface between cme and cucm.
    2) Please note: officially  cme sip trunk video is only supported for cme1—sip trunk---cme2 type set up, but for  basic call you could try to setup cucm to use early media on the sip  trunk. cme by default would use early media and it should work.
    3) For configuration guide on CME Video, you can refer http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucme/admin/configuration/guide/cmevideo.html#wp1027101
    4) For interfacing CME with CUCM, please remember to configure below command on CME:
           voice service voip
            sip
              asymmetric payload full
    Hope this helps,

  • SNMPv3 Priv Credentials not working for CUCM Discovery

    Hello Support Team
Im testing and practicing this week the CPC Small Demo and it seems that when I configure the SNMPv3 Priv Credentials (even with DES) for discover my CUCM, even if I configure the same priv credentials in Serviceability.
However, If I didnt configure the priv credencials, the CPC discover of CUCM works, this now presents the security risk that all the messages between the manager and agent are in plaintext ¿dont it?
I attach the screen with the configurations in CUCM and CPC, with the discovery errors.
Thanks for your help and advice.
    Best Regards.

Are you allowing IMAP access into CUC?   you set this in the "Voicemail Users" Class of Service on CUC, so it will apply for all users once the COS is changed.
Also you might want to set the Credentials source for voicemail service, on CUPS     to    "CUP"

No this is not a common problem.  Have you had the bottom off before?
The factory set screws you see a bit if blue lock tight which makes it more difficult the first time out.

  • CUCM with CUBE - ITSP gives only one audio codec

    Hi,
CUCM 9.1, CUBE 8.7 based on ISR 2821 with free PVDM2, ITSP with SIP telephony.
Need to understand what variants do I have in terms of configuring CUCM & CUBE & Media Resource.
Call flow must be the following: CUCM (SIP Trunk) > CUBE (flow-through is preferable) > ITSP SIP.
ITSP has g711alaw as a single choice.
The media resource if needed I prefer to configure on the same ISR (colocated with CUBE).
Calling endpoints are Cisco IP Phones which supports both u-/a- law.
CUCM cluster is also configured for both u-/a- law support (based on service parameters).
    1. Configure no media resource i.e.
    - CUCM use no MTP and works using DO (delayed offer) mode
    - Make CUBE's voice class codec and dialpeers are using only g711a
Will it work? If yes, is it optimal?
    2. Configure transcoder and MTP
    - XCODE will be registered on CUCM using SCCP and available to SIP trunk via MRG/MRGL
    - MTP will be registered the same way as a separate media profile
    - SIP trunk will use MTP and g711a as originating codec
Will it work? If yes, is it optimal?
    Thank you.

Really good explanation from you, thank you.
You mean DO-EO conversion on CUBE by its means? Will I loose the possibility to use flow-through then?
Configure conversion of a delayed offer to an early offer:
voice-class sip early-offer forced in dial-peer configuration mode
early-offer forced in global VoIP configuration mode
    Example:In dial-peer configuration mode:
Device (config) dial-peer voice 10 voip
    Device (config-dial-peer) voice-class sip early-offer forced
    Device (config-dial-peer) end
    Example:In global VoIP SIP mode:
    Device(config)# voice service voip
    Device (config-voi-serv) sip
    Device (config-voi-sip) early-offer forced
    Device (config-voi-sip) end
The Delayed-Offer to Early-Offer (DO-EO) feature allows CUBE to convert a delayed offer that it receives into an early offer. This feature is supported in the Media Flow-Around mode.

  • Meeting Place Configuration Doc

    Hi
I am configuring Meeting Place 8.5. Can anyone please provide me Meeting Place 8.5 basic configuration guide. I have the cisco guide with me. I have created sip trunk in cucm and done basic configuration in Meeting Place server as per cisco guide. But when I test calling meeting place number, the call gets disconnected. Something somewhere I have missed. I have successfully imported the users to the meeting place server.  Thank u.

    Hi,
Are you using EMS or HMS? Can you make sure you have correct configuration on SIP trunk (CUCM side) and make sure on MP you have configured the correct CUCM configuration under SIP config.
Login to your MP as root and see check below:
    1. cd /var/mp
    2. ls -l
and see if you see cca directory or not? If not then looks like you configured the MP for HMS but you don't have hardware MCU or possibly MCU is not online or not configure properly.
If you see above directory do below:
    cd /var/mp/cca
    tail -f tvsip* | grep -e '--'
make a test call and you will see sometihng on your screen, capture the whole stuff and post here will look tell you what's going on but if you don't see any calls coming that means call is not even landing to MP then check your CUCM for possibly PT, CSS, RP, RP, Trunk etc.
Please let me know if you need any more info.
If you need immediate assistance kindly open a TAC case.

  • 7960 gets stuck in " configuring IP" while in use

    Hi all,
Some phones in my environment sometimes during a day disconnect from CUCM and show only " configuring IP" after unplug and plug the ethernet cable the phones work fine for a undefined time until this happens again.
I already changed the Ethernet cable, but this didn't solve the Problem.
It's only a hand full of about 200 Phones and it is everytime the same phones.
    What could this issue be?
    Greetings
    Christian

Hi Cris, Does the phones are configured with DHCP or static IP?
If DHCP, try using static ip configuration,
Or try to reset the phone to factory defaults, check this link.
