CUCM - trunking between 7 and 9

Hi,
Document needed to do a trunking between cucm 7 and cucm 9  ( intercluster trunking)
We are planning to route a PSTN call from IP phones which are registerd with old CUCM on version 7 from our new cucm 9 which has FXO- line active.
how do I achive it.
Regards

Hello
You have to use intercluster non-gatekeeper controlled . I do nothink there is special document for this , but you can see the below link:-

  • How to create multiple sip trunks between cucm and cisco unified sip proxy

    Dear Expert,
Is there a way to create multiple sip trunks between CUCM and Cisco Unified SIP Proxy (CUSP)? How to achieve it without creating multiple IP interfaces on the CUSP module.
    CUCM: 8.5.1.10000-9
    CUSP: 8.5.2
    Thank you,

    Hello Michael,
This SIP trunk is part of UCCE solution, which used between CVP, CUSP, and CUCM.
    The requirements:
    1) To have different codecs for different type of calls, as the phones are at few countries
    2) To pass different number of digits from CUSP to CUCM for different call treatments

  • Sip trunk between CUCM7.0 and third party VOIP provider

    Hi all,
I'm looking for a solution/howto configuration for setting up a SIP trunk between CUCM7.0 and a SIP-VoIP provider.
Got SIP username, password and SIP-proxy IP from the provider.
I've done such a setup on CUCME a couple of times, but never on the CUCM.
Who can put me on right way?
Can it be done on the CUCM, or must an IOS-Device be used (got a PSTN-GW connected through H323 with CUCM)?
    THanks for the hint,

  • SIP trunking between Microsoft OCS server and Cisco Voice GW router.

    Hello All,
I have a client with an existing Microsoft OCS (office communications server) environment with the OCS server in their head office. The OCS clients in the remote Office registers with the OCS server in the head office. The WAN connectivity between the remote office and the Head office is MPLS.I would like to facilitate local call (PSTN) features at the remote site through a newly proposed Voice gateway router.
Can I achieve this by doing a SIP trunk between the OCS server in the head office to the newly proposed voice GW router in the remote office through the existing MPLS link. If yes, Could any one please assist me in this regards or suggest any other best solution to achieve the same.
    Thank you in advance,
    Mohammed Ameen R

    Hi David,
this is a normal behaviour. To CUCM, OCS is a remote destination (just like your mobile phone). When your mobile phone hangs up, the system will put the call on hold for 10 sec.
This is there for the mobile user to go to his desk to pick up the call and continue the conversation (part of single number reach feature)
The best practise will be for the user to ensure that the other party hangs up the call first before he hang up.
Please grade if you think it's useful =)

  • Trunking between a Cisco 3548 and a Liksys SRW208p

I am trying to set up trunking between these two switches using .1q.  Is this possible and if so how is it done.

No. I nowhere said that. I said you have to put those ports into access mode and not into trunk mode. You can assign three different VLANs to three different ports. You cannot use trunk mode on those ports. You have to use access mode. The computers probably will only send untagged frames. If the port is in trunk mode the computers will send everything to the management vlan!
A port in trunk mode connects to another switch.
A port in access mode connects to a workstation.
The correct setup is for example:
Port 1: Access mode, VLAN 2 untagged, PVID 2, connects to computer1
Port 2: Access mode, VLAN 3 untagged, PVID 3, connects to computer2
Port 3: Access mode, VLAN 4 untagged, PVID 4, connects to computer3
Port 8: Trunk mode, PVID 1, VLAN 2-4 tagged, connects to cisco
The port on the cisco is configured to something like:
    switchport trunk allowed vlan 1,2,3,4
    switchport mode trunk

  • Trunking between 2960X and 3560G

I am trying to trunk between a Cisco 2960X and a 3560G switch. The 2960X has a 10gig (SFP) interface and the 3560G has a 1gig (SFP) interface. Can I do this with 1gig SFP modules? If so what is the configuration on both switches because I can't get them to come up. This what I have.
    2960X config
    interface TenGigabitEthernet3/0/2
     switchport mode trunk
    3560G config
    interface GigabitEthernet0/28
     switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q
     switchport mode trunk

I looked at my 2960X, but I don't have one that has a 1Gig-Module in a SFP+ slot. But at least it is documented to work:
The SFP+ slots support both SFP and SFP+ modules
Are you sure you don't have just a send/receive mismatch? Sometimes the easy things are the hardest to find ... ;-)

As the other posters have already described, in Cisco parlance, a "trunk" is a link that carries VLAN tagged frames.  (Note, Cisco has two technologies for these, ISL [old/proprietary] and IEEE 802.1Q [vendor independent].)  An Etherchannel (also called a port-channel) is one logical link that includes one or more physical links.  (Note, although Etherchannel can run across just one link, normally more than one link is configured.  Older and most Cisco implementations support up to 8 links in one channel bundle.  There's also multiple Cisco technologies that support Etherchannels, such as manual/PAgP[Cisco/old]/LACP[IEEE 802.3ad].)
Trunk links might also be configured on an Etherchannel link.

  • Newbie: trunk between 6500 and Blade Switch 3020

    Hi,
Beeing newbie , I need advice to setup trunk between my 2 switches.
I would like to use 4 ports as TRUNK
On the 6500 , this is what I have done :
    set port channel 5/37-40 61
set trunk 5/37 auto isl 1-1005,1025-4094
set trunk 5/38 auto isl 1-1005,1025-4094
set trunk 5/39 auto isl 1-1005,1025-4094
set trunk 5/40 auto isl 1-1005,1025-4094
On the Blade Switch 3020 I have done :
    interface GigabitEthernet0/17
    switchport trunk encapsulation isl
    switchport mode trunk
    shutdown
    channel-group 1 mode on
    interface GigabitEthernet0/18
    switchport trunk encapsulation isl
    switchport mode trunk
    shutdown
    channel-group 1 mode on
    interface GigabitEthernet0/19
    switchport trunk encapsulation isl
    switchport mode trunk

    channel-group 1 mode on
    interface GigabitEthernet0/20
    switchport trunk encapsulation isl
    switchport mode trunk
    shutdown
    channel-group 1 mode on
    Will that work ?
Could you tell me if I have to put the trunk port on the same VLAN ?
Many thanks in advance for your help.

  • Need Urgent Help on Meeting Place Integration with CUCM 7.1 and AS5400 PSTN Gateway

    Hi,
This is first time I am on this forum.
I have already tried going through a lot of docs on docwiki.cisco.com but couldn't find complete configuration help.
I have to integrate Meeting Place 8.X with an existing CUCM and an E1 gateway (PSTN Gateway) AS5400.
The CUCM is already part of a Telepresence Environment. I need to create a SIP trunk between AS5400 and CUCM 7.1 and then create a Trunk between AS5400 and Cisco Unified MP 8.X and then between CUMP and CUCM.
I need help on AS5400 SIP Configs as well as parameters I need to cover on CUCM (Though I have done some basic dial-peer configs but they haven't been of much help).
Then I also need help on AS5400 SIP configs with CUMP 8.0
Any docs on Integration between CUMP and TP3000 will be of great help too.
    Rgds,
    Asim

I can get the Ricoh to register as sip endpoint, it answeres then imediatly disconnects. Doing a monitor with Wireshark looks like it attempts to negotiate t38 but fails. Any idea why this fails?

  • CUCM, VCS-Core and Edge, B2B Calling

I have CUCM ver 9.1(2) and VCS 8.1.1 in my environment, the VCS-C and VCS-E are currently setup to do MRA which is working fine for the vpn-less Jabber.
We also have a number of SX series Telepresence codecs dotted about which are registered to the CUCM and used for internal video conferencing, now the company is wanting the ability for outside video conferencing so need to setup the B2B capability (licencing has been sorted out already for Rich Media Sessions)
I've been ploughing through a number of docs on this, I have not found one yet specifically for CUCM registered devices and VCS doing nothing but firewall traversal, so the guides I've been working from are for enabling CUCM registered devices to talk to VCS registered devices and just taking relevant bits such as Neighbour zones and SIP trunks from it.
Does anyone know of a guide specifically for the direction Cisco appear to want us to go, which is Telepresence devices registered to CUCM and the VCS just doing firewall traversal.
Or a guide on the firewall traversal part only and I can tack it on to my notes from the other adapted guides.
My current notes have the following tasks I think I need to do to get this working
    - setup partition and CSS on the CUCM for Telepresence calls
    - setup SIP trunk on CUCM pointing to Expressway-C (have subnotes on requirments for SIP Trunk Security profile and the SIP Profile)
    - SIP route pattern(s) on the CUCM pointing to the SIP trunk
    - Enterprise parameters on the CUCM such as Cluster FQDN, Organization Top Level Domain and URI Lookup Policy
    - On the VCS-C a neighbour zone pointing to the CUCM
    - Search rule to route inbound calls to CUCM neighbour zone
Is this looking correct so far?  If so then what else will I need to in relation to traversal zones and VCS-E call routing to get calls in and out the business?
    thanks in advance
    Tigre

  • Major diff. b/w CUCM v7,v8 and v9

Hi All,What are the major differences between CUCM v7, v8 and v9 ?

    Hi,
you can also visit the link and refer word DOC by Rob.
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/11073566/differences-between-versions-cisco-call-manager
CUCM 8 supports virtualization  and version 9 supports centralised ELM along with virtualisation while call manager 7 does not support both.

  • Trunking between separate buildings with same vlan numbering scheme

    Hello
I have (2) warehouses physically next to each other.
Each warehouse has it's own WAN link
My Vlan design is the same across all my sites where each site has (Vlan 10 - 15) using a site specific subnet ip scheme.
I am now going to run a fiber link between my (2) warehouses and can create a trunk between the sites.
I am pretty sure of the answer but I think I am going to have to re-vlan one of the warehouses so I can add each sites vlans to the trunk.
That seems like a mid-major overhaul to one of the sites
Does anyone have any experience with this type of design and provide some guidance on steps to follow?

Many thanks, Jon. You are correct, I had not mentioned my intent to move servers around, originally.
What is not working, is that I cannot ping Houston from Atlanta and viceversa. For example, If I am logged into the ATL switch, I try to ping the HOU switch, but get no reply. In this example, Let's say that ATL switch is 10.11.1.2.. If I try to ping 10.11.2.2 (HOU) nothing. 10.11.1.x traffic should be tagged as vlan 10 in ATL, and 10.11.2.x should be NOW tagged as vlan 112 in HOU.

  • Etherchannel trunking between 2970 switch & 2851 router

    Hi.
I'm planning to do router on a stick with my Catalyst 2970 and my Cisco 2851 router. I got it working to do router on a stick with one physical link to do interVLAN routing, but when I try to configure it using an etherchannel trunk between them, I can't get it working. Please help. Here's my running config for the switch and router:
    2970 Switch:
    <removed irrelevant info>
    interface Port-channel1
    switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q
    switchport trunk native vlan 10
    switchport mode trunk
    duplex full
    interface GigabitEthernet0/23
    switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q
    switchport trunk native vlan 10
    switchport mode trunk
    duplex full
    channel-group 1 mode on
    interface GigabitEthernet0/24
    switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q
    switchport trunk native vlan 10
    switchport mode trunk
    duplex full
    channel-group 1 mode on
    interface Vlan1
    no ip address
    no ip route-cache
    interface Vlan10
    ip address 172.16.1.18 255.255.255.240
    no ip route-cache
    ip default-gateway 172.16.1.17
    2851 Router:
    interface Port-channel1
    no ip address
    duplex full
    speed 1000
    interface Port-channel1.10
    encapsulation dot1Q 10 native
    ip address 172.16.1.17 255.255.255.240
    interface Port-channel1.20
    encapsulation dot1Q 20
    ip address 172.16.2.1 255.255.255.240
    interface Port-channel1.30
    encapsulation dot1Q 30
    ip address 172.16.3.1 255.255.255.240
    interface GigabitEthernet0/0
    no ip address
    channel-group 1
    interface GigabitEthernet0/1
    no ip address
    channel-group 1
    Thank you.

The following is a similar example , try some debuging to find encapsulation errors.

  • Inter Cluster Trunk DisplayName and AlertingName issue

    Hi All
I have an inter cluster trunk between two cluster , one is version 9 and other is 7.
When version 7 phone calls version 9 phone, the Alerting Name on version 7 Phone is not displayed.
When version 9 Phone calls version 7 Phone, the Display Name on version 7 Phone is not displayed.
    Any idea?
    Fei

    Hi,
Can you please change the Service Parameter "Always Display Original Dialed Number" to "False" in the 7.x cluster and try again?
    Regards,
    Tere.
