CUCM Version 7.0 to 10.5 issue

Dears,
Customer wanted to shift its 7.X cucm to 10.5; but once we visited the site we noticed his Publisher server was crashed since long and IPPhones were registered with Subcriber.
In order to upgrade this solution we need the DLUs detail and Publisher Mac (if i am not wrong). Then at that time customer told us just forget about Publisher mac and DLUs and order a fresh solution to accommodate his existing number of users.
We ordered fresh licenses with UCS servers and 10.5 software. 
Now we got this hardware and software; but customer now asking that he wants to upgrade (means like taking configuration backup of existing CUCM 7.X and restoring it to CUCM 10.X). As per my understanding its not possible this way.
Now one thing in my mind we can manually configure device pool, route patterns etc.... as per existing server and for the phones/user we can export and import using Bulk tool.
I just want to confirm is it really possible as per customer saying now where we have fresh licenses; not upgrade or migration licenses.
Secondly, if there is any other way or suggestion by you to do this task complete.

Hi Mohsin,
there won't be any challenge.
It is more like building a fresh Call Manager on version 10.x now.
Once u configure it, either  u can generate the licenses on your own by visiting www.cisco.com/go/license or send mail to [email protected] with Sales Order Number.
To do this u need to visit Prime License Manager, go to licenses---Fulfilement ---other fulfilment options --genearte license request and copy that in notepad.
One question: Did u get PAK number for licenses for new Users ?

    you need to have exactly same CUCM version while doing the restore.
    This ES might have been provided to you by TAC as a workaround to issue which u might have been facing earlier.
    Two ES available are not going to help you.

    What u can do is open a TAC case and ask them to publish ES again?

    I am trying to add a Cisco ip phone type 8945 to a CUCM version version: 7.1.5.33900-10
    The phone type 8945 does not show up in the drop down window in my Callmanger.
    I am trying to find out if i need to add the new firmware for 8945 and the device package ? or only the firmware will do the job ?

    When you are trying to add a new model/device type you will need
    to use the Device Pack
    Like the latest for 7.1.5

  • Is any difference in the CDR output format of CUCM version 6.1.5 and 7.1.5?

    Hello,
    Customer has a CUCM 6.1.5 cluster which is getting upgraded to 7.1.5. currently the CUCM CDR is sent to a external system (performix) which generates required reports. I would like to know if there is any difference in the CDR output format of CUCM version 6.1.5 and 7.1.5/ its vital to confirm this prior to upgrade as the performix is managed by a different vendor.
    Please advise !

  • Version 999 Project System Plan Data Issue

    I am using transaction CJ9B to copy the Project System related plan data i.e. plan data at the WBS element level from Version 10F, period 1 to 12  in year 2010 to version 999, period 1 to 12 in year 2010. The transaction CJ9B runs successfully in the update mode. But when report CJI4 is executed for version 999, period 1 to 12 in year 2010 then we do not find plan data in sync with version 10F.
    I analysed this issue, had a meeting with end user and blanked out target version 999 using source version 9ZR for the year 2010. Then I again copied version 999 from version 10F. Still plan data in version 999 do not exist as they are in version 10F. I have checked the version 999 master data in transaction OKEV. Integrated Planning for SPL, COPA, cost center accounting and business process is active. COPY Allowed is also enabled. Version 999 is unlocked as well.
    Hence I am not sure why the copy functionality is not working fine for version 999, period 1 to 12 in year 2010.
    Can you please take a look and revert with your opinion so that this issue can be fixed ?

    If you want to copy all the plan date from 10F to 999, then in Txn CJ9B
    select the indicator reset and overwrite in target version and execute in test mode.

    Custom will show automatically as soon as you just edit some options. So just go ahead, you don't need to select "custom"

    According to the DocWIki, there doesn't seem to be much difference between the CUCM 9 & CUCM 10 virtualisation requirements.
    Is there any real difference between the CUCM 9 & CUCM 10 OVAs, or is it all just cosmetic?

    I believe you may be referring to the $49 ASL agreement at AppleCare? That is only when/if you are out of AppleCare Protection.
    Can you get to an AppleStore Genius Bar?
    They may be able to fix this for you. No charge.
    I highly doubt that. There is a $70 charge for troubleshooing software issues, EVEN IF there is AppleCare Warranty on the hardware.
    However, since there is no charge for an appointment at a Bar, go make one, and see what options they give you. Let us know how it goes.

    I read CSCur00930 and also Advisory ID: cisco-sa-20140926-bash.
    It has several versions of CUCM listed as affected, and also some that are unaffected.
    Can someone tell me whether CUCM version 8.0.3.20000-2 is affected by this bug as I can't find it on the lists in the advisory?

    Unfortunately according to the CSCur00930 the CUCM 8.0 won't get a fix as this version is still supported without any further correction.
    Fix should be made available from 8.5 version:
    Release 8.5.1 - first fixed release is TBD
    Release 8.6.2 - first fixed release is TBD
    Release 9.1.2 - first fixed release is TBD
    Release 10.0.1 - first fixed release is TBD
    Release 10.5.1 - first fixed release is TBD

  • Oracle RDB driver – Version 3.01.00.01 Connectivity Issue

    I have a SQL Server 2000 extended stored procedure connecting to an Oracle RDB data server via an ODBC connection (using Oracle RDB driver – Version 3.01.00.01). The SQL Server 2000 runs on a Windows 2000 Server.
    This extended stored procedure opens up multiple database connections and maintains them for processing. Usually, everything runs fine.
    However, every so often, we have connectivity issues. What happens is as follows:
    When we bring a station down and then try to reconnnect, our connection is denied, and we get the error: "recv() unexpected close Ret 0 Err#0 UNKNOWN Unknown WINSOCK Error 0". (This error is logged by the .dll running in the SQL Server processing space.) From the first time we receive a connectivity error like this until the Oracle RDB box is rebooted, we cannot establish another new ODBC connection to that Oracle RDB box --- whether we are trying to establish it programmatically or just via a "test connection" in the ODBC dialogue on the SQL Server box.
    We can, however, establish an ODBC connection to another, identically configured, Oracle RDB box from the SQL Server box (without restarting the SQL Server box).
    Has anyone had experience with instable connections from Windows system using the Oracle RDB driver to connect to the Oracle RDB? If not, can anyone point me in a direction that would help me research this? I am more familiar with SQL Server than Oracle, and the Oracle DBA on the other end isn't very accessible.
    I'd really appreciate any help anyone can give me.

    We have upgraded CUCM from 8.6 to 10.5 (direct upgrade).
    After upgrade we cant make changes into CUCM Publisher. While adding phones or device profile we are facing following error:
    Add failed. The Insert privilege is required for this operation.
    Also, our Cisco Unified Attendant Console Enterprise Addition sync with CUCM is not successful.
    CTI RoutePoint & CTI Ports are not registered gone into unknow state.
    Attached are Attendant console enterprise CUCM sync reports screen shot.
    DB Replication for whole cluster is good with value 2.
    Need urgent help - our system is in production now & we dont have cisco support agreement at the moment.

  • After upgrading to latest version of iTunes audio CD burning issues

    I upgraded to the latest version of iTunes and now when I try to burn a playlist as an audio CD it keeps telling me it won't fit on one CD and I have now gotten the playlist down to 1 hour and it is an 80 Min CD and it still won't let me do it. Anyone else having an issue and if so is there a solution?

    I've seen this once before and deleting the playlist and recreating it with a different name solved it.
    Also... try using disk utility to burn a data CD to make sure that burning generally works. Daft I know, but there you go.

    The RTMT receives a false alarm that the Server is down.
    Conditions:
    Any error in the network that closes the TCP session on the ports 1090 and 1099 will cause the false alarm.
    Workaround:
