CUDA GPU supported NVIDIA card.

My customer having HP XW4600 Workstation with Quadro FX570 NVIDIA card.  Now they tried for CUDA  GPU Computing. But FX570 not supporting . What is solution. Suppose I have to changes card. Which sutiable card. Kindly advice.

I am not familar with the CUDA. However, The following quickspec says: http://www8.hp.com/h20195/v2/GetPDF.aspx%2Fc04287897.pdf High-Resolution Antialiasing:          GPU Computing (HW/SW including CUDA SDKCUDA™ Parallel Processor Cores:   PCA with ATX bracket, DVI to VGA converters, HDTV dongle, CD and manual The NVIDIA FX 570 seems to support the CUDA. What is the OS? How did you run the CUDA GPU Computing?

  • List of supported nVidia cards (Premiere Pro CS6)

    Hi all--
I can't seem to locate the latest list of supported nVidia cards.  (For Mercury engine)
The only list I could find contains no 6-series nVidia cards!  That can't be right!
Can someone point to the latest list?

Good of you to mention that. No, PPBM5 does not have info on driver versions and the like. For the new PPBM6 test I am working on a new way to submit results. It is all explained here: http://ppbm7.com/index.php/instructions?showall=&start=1
If you follow these instructions about Speccy now, you can open the Graphics section to see the driver version in use. So I intend to have those data about driver version, as well as lots of other data that can be relevant, available in the new version.
Thanks for this question. It is very relevant to our script to parse out the Speccy results before submission.

  • How to: Enable CUDA GPU Support for "Unsupported Cards" in CS6 (same process as in CS5+)  :) for MAC

Hi all, I previously was involved in some discussion regarding GPU acceleration with CUDA in Premier Pro CS5 using an 'Unsupported card' with my Macbook Pro... I would like to show you this still works and will be here to show the process for anyone, and will post a video of the whole thing as a step-by-step probably tomorrow (its quite late where i am just now) but I'll give you a quick run through just now... Proof at bottom of page...
Ps. This only applies to Nvidia card Macs.. I have no ATI card mac to try this out as OpenCL etc but i would imagine it would be a similar process...
Step 1... Install Cuda drivers for your Mac (im using 4.2.7) here   http://www.nvidia.com/object/mac-driver-archive.html
Step 2... Install GfxCardStatus and force your graphics (if using a laptop) to discrete card only   http://codykrieger.com/gfxCardStatus
Step 3... Open Terminal... and run GpuSniffer... path as follows for original default installation directory, copy and paste then hit enter or change as required
                  /Applications/Adobe\ Premiere\ Pro\ CS6/Adobe\ Premiere\ Pro\ CS6.app/Contents/GPUSniffer.app/Contents/MacOS/GPUSniffer
This should give you an output as follows, while it may differ this is my output...

                 sudo nano /Applications/Adobe\ Premiere\ Pro\ CS6/Adobe\ Premiere\ Pro\ CS6.app/Contents/cuda_supported_cards.txt
You will then be asked for your computer password, type it and hit enter, it will not be shown as you type FYI... You will then see the default supported cards, add your card by pasting the name you have as in Step 4, then use ctrl+x to escape, type Y to save and hit enter a couple of times to get out...
You should now be able to run Premier Pro CS6 using the CUDA GPU option you can select in Renderer as you start a new project!!
Any questions i will try to answer them as soon as possible, and as i said i'll screen capture and record a video tutorial as i know that would be of help to some of you out there.. Some proof, here is a pic...
PS. It is a full 1080 pic so it is quite large...

  • PRE9 No longer supports older nvidia card GPU's (?)

I've started this new discussion rather than continuing GPU Effects in PRE7 but not in PRE9 as this focuses more on the cards rather than the effects. In this discussion I hope that users with nvidia cards could report what their card is, and whether or not GPU Effects/Transitions show.
My nvidia 8800GT performs exceptionally well with PRE7.
Scrubbing along the timeline, or changing timeline scaling results in almost instantaneous redrawing of thumbnails.
All GPU effects and transitions are available and work well.
    But with PRE9:
Scrubbing along the timeline, or changing timeline scaling, results in an agonisingly slow redrawing of thumbnails.
GPU effects and transitions are not available.
It seems to me that PRE9 is either no longer supporting older cards, or is identifying cards incorrectly. My gut feel is the first - that PRE9 is only working with *specific* video cards.
    I think this because:
    Adobe PRE9 Help shows:
    About GPU effects
If your computer has an AGP‑ or a PCI‑based
video card, it probably has a GPU (Graphics Processing Unit). If
your GPU supports DirectX 9.x, Pixel Shader (PS) 1.3 or later, and
Vertex Shader (VS) 1.1 or later, you can use GPU‑accelerated effects. These
effects take advantage of the added video processing capabilities
of GPU cards, adding three‑dimensional realism to images.
You can find these effects in the GPU Effects menu in the Effects
view only if your computer has a supported GPU. (Some effect options
are available only if your graphics card supports Pixel Shader 2.0
or later and Vertex Shader 2.0 or later.) For details, see the system
requirements on the Adobe Premiere Elements product page
    on the Adobe website.
I could not find graphics cards listed in Adobe Premiere Elements 9: System requirements. But I did find this on the Premiere Pro CS5 System Requirements:
Supported NVIDIA graphics cards for GPU acceleration
GeForce GTX 285 (Windows and Mac OS)
    GeForce GTX 470 (Windows)
    Quadro 4000 (Windows)
    Quadro 5000 (Windows)
    Quadro FX 3800 (Windows)
Quadro FX 4800 (Windows and Mac OS)
    Quadro FX 5800 (Windows)
    Quadro CX
It does make me wonder if PRE9 follows this restricted list of cards.
Another clue(?) is that the Adobe Knowledge Base 51526, Troubleshoot digital video playback, shows:
    3. Switch the GPU playback option.
Note: This option is not present in Adobe Premiere Elements 9.0.
Adobe Premiere Elements  is designed to take advantage of display
cards with accelerated GPUs. If you are having playback issues, make
sure you use the correct GPU playback mode that corresponds with your
    display card.
Enable GPU Playback: The setting if you have a GPU-accelerated display card.
Disable GPU Playback:The setting offers the lowest performance but
is appropriate for display cards that do not fully support Direct 3D
So the feature to manually describe your card to PRE9 *HAS* been deliberately removed, by inference leaving it totally to the application to decide whether or not your card is supported.
I'll be posting this information at the Adobe Bug/Feature report.
    Cheers,
    Neale
Insanity is hereditary, you get it from your children

No, and it doesn't support some new cards in particular configurations either.
The main ones affected are the laptop hybrids in Sony Vaio.  I have a Sony Vaio Z11, and the Z12 and Z13 are affected by exactly the same problem.
The nVidia video card is GT330M, which should support all sorts of things.  But the most recent driver that works in this hybrid configuration (the way it is set up by Sony) is 190.xx, which presumably doesn't support this.
So PRE9 loads with an error message, but I can't see anything in the video preview, which makes editing a little difficult.  It works fine in Sony Vegas though.
Sony Vaio with the auto-switching hybrid configurations are fairly common (they've sold well), and the Z11, Z12 and Z13 are a current and very powerful model (mine is Core-i7, 8GB RAM, SSD).  It is a laptop that looks good, so appeals to graphic artists and video editors.
Adobe possibly needs to fix this rather quickly, because there are complaints all over the forums and I can see a lot of people dropping Adobe Premiere Elements in favour of the Sony Vegas product simply because they can't make it work.  All it takes is the ability to switch OFF GPU processing!  Alternatively support for this card.

Ignore the message. After Effects uses your CPU and RAM Primarily, not the GPU.
You would only need NVIDIA CUDA for one rather insignificant function: the acceleration of ray-traced 3D compositions. Your AMD GPU will not ever work for this function as it does not use CUDA.
The After Effects team is no longer working on this feature and suggests that you use Cinema 4D Lite (bundled) for your 3D work instead. There are also some great third party options for adding 3D elements to After Effects compositions like Invigorator Pro and Video Copilot Element 3D.
    Hope that makes things clearer.
    Thanks,

  • CS5 cannot support nVidia and ATI cards in same machine?

Until recently, I was operating fine with a Radeon HD 5750 on dual monitors.  I wanted to add and utilize a third monitor (had some trouble with the DisplayPort output), so I just stuck in an off the shelf nVidia 8400 card.
With the latest drivers on both, and both using OpenGL 3.2, CS5 seems to just freak out.  (The issue seems to be OpenGL centric.)
Photoshop x86 just crashes while loading.
Photoshop x64 will load, but it immediately reports that my cards do not support OpenGL acceleration and disables it.  It otherwise seems to work fine.
After Effects will sort of run, but some strange things crash while it's loading (like gpu_sniffer.exe).  It crashes all the time during RAM previews, now, and the option to accelerate the GUI (or previews) with OpenGL is disabled.  So, while it's use-able, it's slow.
Premiere Pro absolutely refuses to start.  I cannot even get a splash screen.
(The other apps I do not use much.)
I've gone back to dual monitor for now on the Radeon card (problems resolved with disabling the nVidia card), but do the CS5 apps really have that much trouble with two video cards with different chipsets?  Is there something I am forgetting to do?  I am not asking any of the apps to utilize the third monitor, so I cannot fathom what the issue is.  Again, the OpenGL version is the same on both cards...and both cards have the latest drivers (both from November).
I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction or let me know what I should do to enable the nVidia card to peacefully co-exist and still be able to use OpenGL with the CS5 apps.
    Thanks for your help.
    Machine specs:
    * P43-based ASUS motherboard
    * Intel Core2Quad (each core at 2.8Ghz)
    * Windows 7 Professional (64-bit)
    * 16 GB DDR3 RAM
    * ATI Radeon HD 5750 (1GB)
    * nVidia 8400 GS (512MB)
    * CS5 Master Collection

It's not that the apps don't support mixed cards - but that the OpenGL drivers for the cards do not work well together.
Even mixing different models of cards from the same vendor can run into problems when using OpenGL.
Some apps have made mixed cards work - by using one GPU and completely ignoring the rest.
We've talked to the GPU vendors to see about improving the situation, but, well, they're competitors.

  • GPU support and Nvidia SLI

It would appear that even with Nvidia's new Vista drivers 178.24 (today Oct 15) you will only get GPU support if you turn off SLI. Seems like a waste of a second video card. Hopefully Nvidia will get this sorted in the next release.
    My system:
    Intel QX6888 (quad core)
    3 GM RAM
2x GeForce 8800 GTX (normally in SLI)
    Vista 32bit

Read the fineprint and don't listen to the marketing fluff. NVidia never has made any promises that it would double the available texture resolution nor double the number of polygons a 3D program could display or any other real feature relevant for the performance as perceived by the user. All it does is extend your desktop resolution or improve a few things on the texture filtering and antialiasing by providing different cooperative methods of the two GPU working on the same problem at once, but even a quad SLI can not override the rules of OpenGL or any other display API else for that matter. There is really very little measurable benefit to SLI in combination with professional apps, even for the always resource hungry CAD people, and I don't exactly call paying twice the money for a meagre 5 - 20% gain a good deal. This may be different for others, but point in case: SLI has no place with most current commercial mainstream apps and unless NVidia open up the API so others can really understand and use what SLI does, this will not change in the foreseeable future.

  • Windows 7 Not Detecting Nvidia Card. Gt70 670MX GPU.

So I downgraded from windows 8 to windows 7 and have recently discovered my computer is using the Intel HD 4000 instead of the correct Nvidia 670MX. When I disable the Intel Hd the system restarts and displays stuff but the nvidia program says it can not detect an nvidia gpu. When I re enable, the nvidia driver detects the gpu but does not use it (directx diag shows the intel hd 4000). Any help would be greatly appreciated because I would hate to have to reformat back to windows 8.

Dxdiag will not use the NVidia card. Ignore it, as it's stupid to rely on it for anything.
You can't use the NVidia card 100% of the time. You need to use the Intel HD4000 when you're not gaming, as that's what it's meant for with Optimus.
Sometimes you need to make sure that it is switching to the NVidia card when you need it for a game or for whatever it is you're doing that you need it. This usually involves making a custom profile within the NVidia control panel. I have not played a game yet where I did NOT have to add it. I'd add it anyway, just to be sure that it's working correctly. Once you add the game, and tell it to use the NVidia high performance adapter (instead of the Intel integrated adapter), it should work just fine and hopefully increase your FPS.

  • Must Nvidia card be connected for CUDA Mercury Accleration?

Before I go spending a bunch more money on display cards...
    Let's supposed I had an ATI 5870 driving 3 monitors...and I also had a Quardo 4000 installed...but connected to NO Monitors...
Would Premiere still see and utilize the CUDA cores of the 4000 to accelerate Premiere performance?
    Background note 1
I've already had enough performance hits and hassle trying to run a 4870 + GT120...so I'm trying to avoid having mixed brand cards driving different monitors within 1 system
    Background note 2
I am on a fully loaded Nehalem MacPro 2009

No, Yes. There is no need to connect monitors to use the Quadro 4000 card. It does require proper setup in the OS however.
If you pose a question next time, do so in a clear and understandable fashion.
Must Nvidia card be connected for CUDA Mercury Accleration?
No. It must be installed, but no need to connect it to monitors.
Would Premiere still see and utilize the CUDA cores of the 4000 to accelerate Premiere performance?
    Yes. If properly set up.

  • IMac NVIDIA cards

I can't seem to get a clear answer on this.
I want to know if the new graphics cards on the 2013 iMac support CUDA.
    There are two options:
    NVIDIA GeForce GTX 775M
    NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M
Neither are listed on the Premiere Pro Tech Specs Page:

  • I7 2600 advantage over a certified nvidia card

There has been a discussion on another forum about the advantage of a cuda card if you have a I7 2600 processor and I thought the best place to ask was here.
Now I did some testing with premiere cs5 and a mpe enabled card on a overclocked I7 950, I threw some 1080p dslr material on the timeline and added some random processor intensive effects like a luma curve, which I copied a few times. With MPE disabled my system almost came to a halt when previewing the timeline and exporting that footage to a 1080p h.264 vbr 25-30mbs file took several times longer then realtime. If I enabled MPE my preview on the timeline was silky smooth and exporttime was twice faster then realtime.
There was someone however claiming that a I7 2600, due to it’s “sophisticated structure” would be able to handle preview and export (in above case) equally good without a certified nvidia card meaning with MPE disabled, according to him the I7 2600 was that fast that you did not need a certified cuda card, it would be able to handle all what a cuda card could handle equally fast.
Based on my test that’s something I can’t believe, especially because my overclocked I7 950 is on paper even a bit faster then a stock I7 2600. Can anyone share his opinion on this?

    Thank you for your answer.
I had one more question when a cuda card supports the exporting part. As a test I added a luma curve to a 30 second dslr clip and copied that effect 10 times, with mpe off I only had audio but the image froze when attempting to playback the timeline. With mpe on I had fluent playback, but, when I wanted to export to to a h.264 1080p vbr 25-30mbs preset with mpe off it took allmost 5 minutes, with mpe on it toke 20 seconds.
is it so that mpe only uses the cuda card to support in exporting when there have been gpu accelerated effects applied on the clip? If iI don't apply any effects on the clip I don't get any speed advantages during render when mpe is on or off, only when gpu accelerated effects have been applied.

Hi, I'm new here, but have been using other distros for a while now.
My problem is that whenever i try to use the discrete graphics Xorg freezes and the logs say something about not having a valid display for the card.

I had a similar issue but i solved it following the instructions explained here https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Bu … l.2FNVIDIA.
I also reccomend you to install the bbswitch package which disables NVIDIA discrete graphics card when isn't used.

  • [SOLVED?] Problem with nVidia card

This is my first post, so; hello to everyone!! Thx in advance to this great community!!
My problem is pretty strange and anoying. I have an nVidia 8600GT in a Abit AX78 MB running Arch with KDE. Anything is going right until logon process. I write the user and password in KDM screen and then, after de animation of init proces of KDE, all graphics displayed are corrupted (a rectangle in the upper left corner is showed) and that's it. Only work the mouse pointer.
This malfunction its showed by the nouveau driver AND the proprietary driver... So i think the problem is it in other place than the driver of the card.
The Xorg.0.log and dmesg.log files are atached at the end of this thread.
I hope that annyone can help me.
    Thx in advance again.
    The Xorg.0.log file contains this:
