Will DB start automatically after rebooting the computer?
Will DB start automatically after rebooting the computer?

Will DB start automatically after rebooting the computer?Yes. IF you set it up to do so. Or you have an OSs for which it is installed to automatically do so and you have not disabled it.
I assume, since it seems to be difficult for you to tell us what operating system you use, that you use some form of Windows. In which case, the answer is 'Yes, automatically set up - as seen by the Services'.
(Windows users don't seem to realize there are other OSs and therefore don't tell. They also don't realize that Windows is not an OS, but rather the marketing label for a whole families of OS Editions. Some popular families are: Windows XP, WIndows 2003, Windows 2008, Windows 7. But even then, Oracle only works on specific Editions within the family.) -
Listener service not start automatically after reboot in Win2K server Clust
Hi all,
I set up a two node Server Cluster with Microsoft Windows 2000 server cluster service. Hardware are two HP DL380 servers and HP MSA500 (the shared storage). The cluster's IP address is 10.1.241.65. When I shut down both servers and restart the primary server, the listener server service will not start automatically. The listener log is:
Started with pid=1108
Error listening on: (DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=10.1.241.65)(PORT=1521)))
TNS-12545: Connect failed because target host or object does not exist
TNS-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error
TNS-00515: Connect failed because target host or object does not exist
32-bit Windows Error: 49: Unknown error
The service is set up automatically start. I suspect the cluster virtual IP is not available immediately after reboot. So I tried setting the Recovery after first failure and second failure to 3 minitues each, and setting up Dependencies of the listener on the cluster service in the Win2K Service panel. Neither worked.
The service can be manually start.
Any suggestion?
Frank. The command to start automatically the listener is :
lsnrctl start
check the parameters in : <ORACLE_HOME>/network/admin/listener.ora
check the IP address or host name

IPhoto 6 starts automatically after reboot, how to avoid ?
Every time I reboot my Imac, Iphoto starts automatically.
It is not active in Accounts / Login Items
Also no camera is attached to the computer; The settings for ImageCapture are to launch EOS Utility if a camera would be attached.
Any clues ?
Thanks,Xinram
Right click on the iPhoto icon in the Dock, see if 'Open at Log in' is checked.
Do you have a FAT format disk or USB flash drive connected to the Mac?

Ovs-agent starts automatically after reboot but hostname isnt resolvable
Hello Guys,
the theme is the problem. After rebooting a server the ovs-agent starts automatically but the DNS-Name of the SR isnt resolvable.
If I restart the agent by hand everything works fine. I checked the /etc/init.d, where its installed and the rc3.d. ovs-agent got S99 - which means, it starts last.
But which service is responsible for DNS? In my eyes the only thing that must be up, is networking, isnt it?
Do you have any hints for me?
GreetzPlease check your /etc/hosts and make sure that the hostname is on a separate line and not mapped to 127.0.0.1

Oracle does not start automaticly after reboot
I've installed O 9i on win2ksrv after installing DB2.
Then I create a database and this db starts successfully.
After reboot the database is shutdown and can only starts manually by sysdba.Hi,
Have you checked the space of ORAARCH or SAPARCH folder/directory ? The problem may be "Archive destination full". If its full then try to move some old Offline redo log file to other safe location as a backup and then try to restart the Oracle Instance again.

MSExchangeSA and IS is not starting automatic at reboot after upgrading the server from SP1 to SP2
I am running a 2 node DAG with separate Hub & CAS servers
I have already upgraded the Hub CAS server and they are fine
Exchange running on Windows 2008 R2 SP1
All are in VM-Ware ESXi 5.0
After I upgrade the mailbox server to SP2 the SA and IS service not starting automatic after reboot
If I run "net time /set" command and then restart ADtopology server, the IS and SA starts fine
But again after reboot they do not start
Also I get the below event in the app log when the IS & SA fails to start
Log Name: Application
Source: MSExchangeIS
Date: 05/22/2012 5:15:03 AM
Event ID: 5003
Task Category: General
Level: Error
Keywords: Classic
User: N/A
Computer: server.domain.com
Description:
Unable to initialize the Information Store service because the clocks on the client and server are skewed. This may be caused by a time change either on the client or on the server, and may require a restart of that computer. Verify that your domain is correctly
configured and is currently online.
If I check the Registry for time resource it is taking from the DC
I manually compared the time between DC and Exchange and it is fine
Since the Exchange mailbox is virtual, I checked the time sync on VM-Ware tools and it is "unchecked"
Checked for group policy and do not find any specific to time sync.
Confirmed that Windows Time service is running
Suspecting a Operating system issue, tried to upgrade the other DAG
Even that node is displaying the same symptom and Issues
Tried to install RU1 on both nodes and that too did not fix the issue.
Checked with VM-Ware engineer and he said that every thing from VM-Ware end is fine
Is Anyone have come across the issue before ?Exchange 2010: Unable to initialize the Information Store
Problem:
Unable to initialize the Information Store service because the clocks on the client and server are skewed. This may be caused by a time change either in the client or the server, and may require a reboot of that computer. Verify that
your domain is properly configured and is currently online.
Solution:
Open a cmd prompt from the Exchange Server as administrator (right mouse click on the command prompt shortcut and select “Run as Administrator”)
Run this command
Net time \\ADServerName /Set
Restart the Microsoft Exchange Active Directory Topology Service
*Important!! You have to restart the Microsoft Exchange Active Directory Topology Service or this fix will not work.. I tried just starting the Information Store service after running the command it it still failed..
This worked for me and all is well on my exchange server.

Automatically start oracle after reboot
Is there a way to automatically start oracle after reboot? Our platform is Soaris 10 and Oracle 10.2.0.1.0
(1) Don't forget to edit $ORACLE_HOME/bin/dbstart. (Note:337927.1)
Original line:
ORATAB=/etc/oratab
Modified line:
ORATAB=/var/opt/oracle/oratab
(2) As per Note:336299.1 use:
dbstart $ORACLE_HOME
or
dbstart /u01/app/oracle/product/10.2.0 (or whatever is your Oracle_Home)
or you'll get: "ORACLE_HOME_LISTNER is not SET, unable to auto-start Oracle Net Listener"

After downloading mountain lion the internet does not start automatically after start or restart but if I use diagnostics it starts is there a simpler solution?
Extensions can sometimes be the cause of problems. If the problem does not occur in Safe Mode, then you can disable your extensions one-by-one until you find out which one is causing the problem. See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]]

Starting OC4J_BI_FORMS automatically after reboot on Win2000
Does any know how to configure OCJ4_BI_FORMS to startup
automatically after rebooting on win2000. Now, I'm manually starting the OC4J_BI_FORMS instance, and would like to automate the startup after reboot.
Thanks in advance
JoeI think it's controlled by auto-start for your application in %ora9ias_home%\j2ee\OC4J_BI_Forms\config\server.xml.

Why Portage R700-15P starts automatically after hibernation
Why TOSHIBA Portage R700-15P starts automatically after I hibernate it (or put on sleep) and close the lid?
As soon as I take hibernated laptop with closed lid in my hands to put it into bag - it starts by itself with closed lid...
Had anybody similar issue and solution for this?
Thanks> Is there any setting for laptop or Windows 7 that does not resumes laptop from hibernate/sleep state when lid is closed?
First of all its not matter if the lid is closed or not one fact is important: notebook is set in hibernation mode and wakes up if USB mouse would be moved
Fact is that BIOS contains some Wake Up options you should check the BIOS settings like Wake Up on LAN, Wake up on keyboard etc disable these options, save the changes and check how it works -

In addition, in order to disable sddm I downloaded latest Arch linux installation CD (2015.02.01) but I was unable to start PC with this version. Loading stuck after first 3 lines, after "triggering udevevents".
I had old version 2014.08 and it worked ok.
Thanks,
AlexeyI just wanted to echo eugeneyche's comment. I ran the same steps mentioned by ElectricPrism but that didn't really fix them. I had to add nomodeset to my kernel parameters. I now want to know what's really going on. For the record, this was my backtrace:

PC Suite not starting automatically after re-boot.
Running the latest version of PC Suite in 32bit Vista. Every time I re-boot my PC, PC Suite refuses to start automatically, and there is no icon in the tray. I have to go into start, programs, etc..,then 'click to connect a phone' every time. Very annoying!
Very strange behaviour, given the fact that my laptop (running XP Pro), starts up with PC suite in the tray and connects with my phone via bluetooth without any intervention whatsoever.
Anyone experienced or solved this problem?
Jimmy. In the start up tab of system config, there is no 'launch application' listed. However, PC suite is listed and enabled.
An update on this problem: Having looked at various previous posts, it would appear that ATI Catalyst Control Centre conflicts with the start-up of PC Suite. I have uninstalled this app, and all would now seem to be well. I beleive ATI CCC causes quite a few problems with Nokia software judging by problems other posters are having..
Jimmy.

Palm desktop sync with Windows 7 64-bit
I can see that this topic has been beaten to death here, but I can't seem to find an answer despite a number of search attempts. I'm trying to hotsync a Treo 90 to a Win7 64-bit machine via a USB connection. I have Palm Desktop v. 4.0.1 running. I
