CUIC datasource for CVP Reporting server

Hello,
I have a CVP Reporting Server that was running for a while. I also have CUIC installed and I was able to generate IVR reports using the CVP templates. Suddenly, I see that the CVP Reporting Server in CUIC Datasources is OFFLINE.
Given that nothing has been changed, what could be the issue? Does the cvp_dbuser expire?
I am getting the following error in CUIC:
Attempt to connect to database server (cvp_db_<rpt_server_hostname>) failed.
Any advice is highly appreciated.

Thanks David for the fast and helpful reply.
Even though the correct license file was applied (cisco 8.0 permanent uncounted) to the Reporting Server, I can see in the CVP Reporting Server's Error log that the license had expired.
RPT_EVAL Component license already expired on ...
I can also see the license file in the managed license files in CVP Operations Console.
I tried to re-transfer the same file but couldn't, Reporting Server is unreachable.
Failed - Device could not be reached
Any suggestions?

Answered my own question. Managed to upgrade to 5.0 following this process, but follow these instructions with care...
1. Stop all CMS services in Config Manager.
2. Go to Add/Remove programs and click "change" for Crystal Reports Server XI. Click on "Modify" then change the entry for MySQL4.1.13a to "Entire Feature will be unavailable" (from Enterprise -> Server Components -> Servers - > Central Management Server). This will remove the existing mySQL version and any data/license key information/customisation, so be wary.
3. Install the desired version of mySQL.
4. Use the MySql command line to create a new database - "create DATABASE BOE115;"
5. In the Central Config Manager, select the CMS and display its properties. Select the Dependencies tab and remove the old version of mySQL and add the new version. Click on the Config tab, then Select Datasource. Select mySQL driver, then complete the details for the newly created database. Once complete it will still produce an error, at which point you need to select the options to Re-create the Current Datasource.
6. Once the datasource is sucessfully recreated, restart the Crystal service in the Config Manager.
7. Open the Config tool, and add your license key. Then Re-Enable all the servers within the Servers page.
8. Any other customisation or preferences would need to be re-applied.
This worked for me, but obviously take care as your existing mySQL database will be completely removed during the process.

Reporting Services will not automatically use a different replica for the report server databases when a failover occurs. How to overcome this issue

With the AlwaysOn listener you should have a single DNS name to connect to regardless of which cluster node is active. Are you using the listener service? If not, please refer to the link below.

for how/whether it can do Windows Authentication.
This is completely at the driver level, not WebLogic,
except that (of course) WebLogic would have to be
running on Windows.

Hi Krishna,
Database name should be: cvp_data
Instance name should be: cvp_db_servername
Otherwise you can find it from memory by logging into the CVP ops console, going to the reporting server and there's an option like Database Details or something.
What version of CUIC are you running? I'm just trying to hookup CUIS to CVP at the moment with 7.5.4 and I'm having Informix driver issues as it doesn't look like the Informix SDK isn't installed even though it was meant to be bundled with the install after 7.5.2 so I've got a TAC case open for this at the moment.

CVP Reporting Server Installation Password Error

Trying to install CVP 4.1 reporting server and I can't get past the Reporting Password screen. I've made the password as difficult as I possibly can and nothing seems to work. Anyone have any ideas?
This is the message that keeps appearing.
"Chosen password does not meet local security policy checks. Verify criteria such as Minimum Password Age."

Unable to fill datatable to use as datasource for Crystal Report

Hello again kind folks of the Crystal Reports forums. I beseech you for a little assistance yet again. I am writing a program that does some very simple stuff, yet is giving me very complicated problems. I used the code I wrote from a working program and everything is fine, except the fact I can't get data on my report. I have created a dataset    to get the data from my SQL Server database. The connection string I have works, and the query I use works. In my other program I when I look at the dataset.xsd I see a filled datatable and that was how I got my fields for the report. In this one, I don't know how to prefill the datatable so that I can use that as a datasource in my report. I would be glad to get you code if anyone would like it. If someone could explain to me how to fill the datatable so I can use it as the crystal datasource, I would be so appreciative.

Thanks for posting a reply Amit. I am confused about a couple things. The XML file. Is that something that I have to create myself? In my last program I got around using XML files somehow and for the life of me I can't remember how I did it. Is there another way you know of to fill besides this? Also I dont' have access on my computer. The boss never say a need since no one uses it. Is there a way to use my code, which I'm gonna include, and do it??

How to create a virtual directory for the Report Server

Hi, I am new to server admin and need help with configuration.
I would like to map a physical directory on the server so that users can use a virtual path to save report outputs in that location. For example the form will call the report with desname = 'd:\xyz\abc.pdf' and the output file will be saved in a predefined directory on the server. I know how to do it on the forms server using the orion_web.xml but not sure about the report server configuration.
We are using rwservlet to run reports on 10G release2/Windows 2000.

Virtual directories are mapped in the httpd.conf file in the Apache directory as aliases:
Alias /xyz/ "d:\xyz\"
You can now call the report output with
http://server/xyz/abc.pdf

I am a prospect Crystal Reports Server customer. I am looking to find out Server Specs for a typical 10 CAL Crystal Reports Server deployment. The information for minimum spec seems to be widely available but not for a Spec for good performance.

My recommendation is to work with an SAP pre-sales consultant who will be able to provide "truer to life" guidelines on RAS sizing. Generally, you're looking to accommodate ~ 30-60 concurrent report events on a single RAS CPU.
Of course, report size (data stored within in, # pages, etc) all get factored into estimating memory requirements and goes back to making use of a pre-sales consultant for this purpose. Additional factors include deploying a multi-RAS configuration and other layouts to optimize your needs. They definitely have what you need - it's a matter of reaching out to them.

Setting Multiple Report Paths for a Reports Server

I am sorry for posting here, As I didnot get response from reports forum, I posted here.
I would like my reports server named ABREP to to read reports from multiple paths.
We have fmb,fmx,rdf,rep files in /gccapp/TESTAPP & /gccapp/LIVEAPP.
I tried to follow I need multi report path
but no luck.
I give oratest:7778/forms/frmservlet?config=app1&*EnvId=testenv*
but still it is reading from other location.
can any one please help.
My env: 10gdbR2, 10gAS,Solaris

Datasource for financial reporting structure

Hello,
I am extracting data from several finance datasources (FINGLAU*) to an external BW system. For several reporting requirements I need an extract of the so-called Financial Reporting Structures, which are effectively hierarchies of GL-accounts.
I have found a way to manually save these structures to an Excel-file through the Business Configuration work center. However I would like to automate this process by extracting these from a data source but I as of yet I have not been able to find one.
Does anyone know of a datasource to extract these structures?

Cold Standby Server for Crystal Reports Server...

Hi there,
We have the confirmation from Hong Kong SAP that Crystal Reports Server 2008 does not come with any clustering feature as Business Objects Enterprise does. We are to set up a cold standby server for the production server for high availability. Below is our procedures to work it out:
1) we set up two machines for CRS 2008 with the same licence key and identical hardware; otherwise we clone the production machine to an identical hardware for a cold standby machine
2) we are using our Oracle instance (same instance for both the production and the standby one) for CRS 2008 repository; we bring the production sever offline and perform the standby server installation of CRS 2008 without resetting the repository Oracle database
3) we are to use a SAN LUN for storing the reports produced by CRS 2008
Once the production server does not work properly due to any hardware problem, we switch it off manually and turn on the standby machine and the Crystal Reports service should resume with no repository problem (all the settings) and no loss of printed reports. We would be grateful if you could confirm the feasibility of these procedures. Thanks a lot.

Correct, CRS is for a single machine use only, that why it is not as expensive as the full BOE. Talk to Sales to upgrade.

TruncateClippedFieldStrings for Crystal Reports Server 2008?

When we were running Crystal Reports XI, we had to add the registry key "TruncateClippedFieldStrings" on our server, because text fields on Crystal Reports were overlapping rather than truncating. Now that we are on Crystal Reports Server 2008, we are having the same problem. Does anyone know if this same fix applies to Crystal Reports Server 2008, and if so, do I also have to change the Crystal Reports Page Server (which I don't see in 2008) and Crystal Reports Report Application Server?
