CUOM and Service Monitor

Hi Everybidy,
I have CUOM 2.1 with Service Monitor installed. When i try to configure the sensor using service monitor, the web page giving HTTP 500 Internal server error. and also please advice from where do i get the configuration file for sensor( Cisco 1040 sensor- cnf file)

    Yes, you can use it without having sensor in your network.
    In this case you will add the CUCM as a data source to monitor the calles and CDR records for generating the CVTQ reports.

    Yes You can install Service Monitor in a stand alone server. For Service Monitor to coreside on a system with other applications in the Cisco Prime Unified Communications Management Suite, see the coresidence requirements in
    Installation Guide for Cisco Prime Unified Operations Manager 9.0.
    Also you can check Coresidence Guidelines and Coexistence Guidelines.

  • Service Monitor and Sensor 1040

    Hi,
    i have a problem with service monitor.
    my service monitor cannot register cisco 1040 sensor.status is waiting.
    i already upload config file and software image for the sensor 1040 to TFTP server/CUCM.
    my topology is
    sensor(192.168.206.202) ---> TFTP/CUCM (192.168.206.11) ----> Service Monitor (192.168.253.146)
    sensor information status said that
    not communication with receiver.
    and service monitor address is empty.
    please need your advice.

    This is a other  method to check the  sensor  is fine and you can mixed  with another above drescribe here
    Fist step install  download winagents tftp server ,
    enter a Service Monitor Server   Configuration / sensor1040 and in TFTP server  enter    ip address(winagents tftpserver) and go to SETUP
    in setup   put you ip address in PRIMARY SERVICE MONITOR  and push OK   you look the server write file in (TFTP server )
    Next STEP
    Go to MANAGEMENT   and  add new sensor you need mac address remember second port in sensor is span port 
    you can make a sencond file in the tftp server
    Next STEP
    go to service monitor server and copy  file *.img CSCOpx/
    Next STEP
    Search  you dhcp server switch     option 150 in put your ip address tftp server when sensor power off  and power on
    the sensor search tftp server and search files to autoconfig and register to service monitor
    when test is ok
    its time to upload change winagent tftp server to  callmanager tftp server 
    good lucky

    Hello,
    I have a new deployment for COUM with service monitor and Cisco Unified Service Statistics Manager and I have 2 servers.
    I want to somebody help me who to deploy these solution in 2 servers? I prefer to install COUM with Service Monitor in the same server and CUSSM in the other server, what do you thing?
    I have other question, to upgrade COUM 2.2 to CUOM 2.3 I must to pass by cisco to purchase the new license, or I can to use the same license COUM 2.2 for COUM 2.3

    Hi,
    It is ok to install CUOM and CUSM on the same server. See the guidelines here for the minimum hardware requirements:

    In regards to licensing, if you have a license for CUOM 2.2, then the same license file is valid for license 2.3, so you won't need to purchase a new one.
    If you decide to install CUOM and CUSM on a different server though you will need to have the license migrated to that server. The license is tied to the mac address of your server.
    You can contact [email protected] to have the license migrated if needed.

  • CUCMS Service Monitor 8.0 and 1040

    Hi there
    We have installed CUCMS 8.0, we also have Service Monitor 8.0 installed.
    When trying to configure a 1040 sensor we are unable to add the IP address of the 1040 sensor since, there is no option to add an IP address of the sensor. when we go to edit the configuration we see that the IP address of the sensor is the mac address and we are unable to edit this information as well. Therefore we suspect that this is a bug.
    We are unable to pick up the 1040 sensor.
    Attached is the screenshot of our problem.
    Please advise is this is a bug?

    The sensors do a DHCP.requestto get IP, TFTP server addres
    So you need to setup a server that will respond with an IP for this mac address and give the IP address of a TFTP server (option 150).
    You Service Monitor or CallManager can be such a TFTP server.
    There on the TFTP server you must place a file called QOV.CFG
    In Service Monitor -> Configuration -> Sensors you can make config this file, then copy it to the TFTP server
    It tells the sensor what images to download and which service monitor it should register with.

  • Transaction Monitor - Org Unit (Service) and Service Organization

    When using Transaction Monitor I notice that there are two available filters:
    Org Unit (Service) and Service Organization
    When I try and use these filters only some of the Org Units I have created using PPOMA_CRM ae visible and most of the other org units are not.
    How do I make all the other Org Units I have created visible to this filter option?

    Hi Naveen,
    We assign these Org Units on the support ticket in the support team field when creating the ticket. Do I need to make any further configuration as all the support teams I have entered on the tickets do not appear as a selectable option when using the Org Unit (Service) or Service Organization filters in Transaction Monitor.
    I am sure there is somethign I am missing.

  • Adding Service Monitor to CUOM

    We have Cisco Unified Operations Manager 2.1.0 installed with Cisco Unified Service Monitor 2.1.0 installed on the same server.
    I show this licensing info:
    OM Premium 2.0 5009 Purchased
    SM 2.0 5000 Purchased
    Within Service Monitor I added CUOM Server as trap receiver, but when I go to CUOM Administration - Service Quality Settings all I see is the Events Settings option. I don't see a link to add the Service Monitor to the CUOM.
    I inherited this installation, could an option have been missed during initial installation of CUOM?

    Operations Manager installs Service Monitor as well. Since you have Operations Manager 2.0.1, the Service Monitor 2.0.1 should be already present on the box. You will need to install the license for Service Monitor to use the Service Monitor functionality.

    Does the CSM service pack correct the performance monitor or CSM and Perf monitor are indipendent ?
    I have a CSM 3.1.1 sp3 and I need to install Perf Mon 3.1: do I need to execute sp3 again ?

    I think not need to install SP3 again after you installed the performance monitor 3.1 . it's not required

  • Global Service Monitor (GSM) Config

    Hello all, I have recently configured GSM with the external monitoring services being in the U.S. 
    When I look at the monitor - Authoring>MP Objects>Monitors>Multi-URL Template (*Monitor Name*) it shows enabled is set to true.
    However when I look at - Monitoring>Monitoring>Application Monitoring>Web Application Availability Monitoring>Web Application Status - The monitor does not have a check mark next to it.
    When I look at - Monitoring>Monitoring>Application Monitoring>Web Application Availability Monitoring>Test State - none of the five external servers are checked and they all say "Not Monitored"
    So I'm trying to figure out if it's enabled or not and if not where do I go to enable it?  When I have setup internal (Non GSM) web tests they are just enabled so I'm not sure what's different with this one.

    Would you please restart the health service on the external servers. And we may try to flush health service state and caches for those server.

  • Having Issue with Service Monitor Report when using Oracle DB

    I set up Oracle XE to store monitoring and message data for Service Monitor. I configured the Database Connection in Policy Studio, and deployed the configuration. When starting the Service Monitor, I got "There are no reporting nodes configured." error.

    It looks like the repConfig.xml file needs to be updated. If so, what elements? Anything else i am missing?

    You need to add a Gateway node the service monitor.
    To do this browse to http://HOST:8040/
    Using the default port, you can connect to the Service Monitor interface in a browser, where HOST points to the IP address or hostname of the machine on which Service Monitor is installed.
    Right mouse click and add the Gateway node.

  • Issue in Global Services Monitor GSM

    Dear all,
    I'm facing a problem in Global Services Monitor.
    The Resources pool contains 4 Management Servers; 2 old and 2 recently installed.
    The GSM was installed and was working normally on the old Management Servers.
    But, after increasing the number of management servers to be 4 instead of two, the problem appeared.
    The GSM is firing alerts on the new MS's and their state are critical (old 2 servers are healthy).

    Is there any requirement to install the Microsoft Root Certificate on the server where SCOM console is working? Shall I need to purchase Windows Azure Subscription also for GSM? Please let me know.
    The scenario is - I have one SCOM server (Including all the server roles on the single server) and other server where VMM server and SCOM console is installed. I have installed GSM Management Packs on the SCOM server and configured one Web Availability Monitor
    to be monitored from external servers (e.g. Chicago).

  • Service monitoring is not showing all the services when i create a service monitor under Management pack templates.

    Hi All,
    I am using SCOM 2007 R2 CU4 in my environment. I want to do a service monitoring on specific agents. When i try creating this service monitor which comes under the Management pack template  when i select the service which i want to monitor it does not
    show all the services in the drop down.
    For example - I have Windows audio service which is present on the machine, But it is not showing in the service list. 
    So from the services stating from "W" i see only 5 in SCOM and in services.msc in the Agent i see more than 5.
    Below is the screen shot.
    Can any one please help.

    So based on your above suggestion, If the services are already managed  / monitored by a specific
    management pack those services will not appear here in the Wizard while creating this type of a Management pack object alert right ?
    If that is the case why does not the same reflect here in the operations console in the Services monitor
    TAB ?

  • Satellite A100-646 and external monitor shows black screen

    Hello to everybody,
    I have a similar problem with A100-646 (bought in Italy). Laptop's LCD and external monitor shows black screen but system boots without other problem. When laptop is not used for a long time (half a year) it work for one week without any problem.
    Unfortunately, there is no proper service in a place where I live. Perhaps, there is a problem with power supply.
    Is there other idea? Does anybody have a service manual? ([email protected])

    It is not easy to find shop where you can order original and new hardware components.
    Best source for such parts is definitely eBay where you can buy used but well working components.
    Upgrade? You must know that upgrade on mobile computers is not the same as on desktops. Cooling possibilities are not the best and each notebook model has optimized cooling system for original parts. So new graphic card can be more powerful and produce more heat and it is definitely not good for your notebook. So best thing you can do is to replace it with original part.

  • Setting up service monitoring on a group of servers, but only alerting when the service is down on all servers

    I have the need to monitor one service that exist on 3 servers, but the service only runs on one of the servers at a time, and the servers are not set up as a cluster.  Any ideas around how to accomplish this?

    Hi,
    Create a service monitor as previously described and then create a distributed application and add the new service monitor for all servers to a component group. Then set the health rollup to Best state of any member - I think that should work...
