CUP Future Integration with External Training System

Are there any plans to allow CUP to integrate with external training systems. We have a need for CUP to integrate with an external training system to obtain course completion information which would then be used in the approval process for requests associated with adding or updating roles. Thanks in advance.

I don't know of any specific enhancements for that requirement but I would raise this directly with SAP to check!
I'm sure you could use a work around by using qualification records to trigger the CUP webservices of a certain request type and  generate a workflow path for that specific approval mechanism.

  • Workflow integration with external DMS system

    Hi,
What integration/control transfer possibilities exist between SAP Workflow and an external document management system (e.g. Hummingbird)? Would some sort of interface be necessary for the integration and what would the level of effort be more or less?
This is quite urgent and I would greatly appreciate your input.
    Regards
    Liza-Marie

    Hi Liza-Marie,
you can work at different levels:
    1) Integration of documents use in the SAP workflow can be stored in external DMS and linked to SAP transactions through SAP Archivelink; you'll probably need a Hummingbird interface certified archivelink
    2) If you want to integrate your SAP workflow with the workflow of the DMS (if any), you can practice as follows:
    a) From you DMS, you can raise events in the SAP system on which your SAP workflow would react (to start or resume) by making use of standard RFCs such as SWE_EVENT_CREATE; eventually you can expose it as web service, which will simplify the call
    b) From SAP worfklow, you can send mails, call external system commands (more rarely used) or call web services that would allow you external DMS to be triggered on
Details on all these techniques would be too huge to be described in a post, but this gives you an overview on how SAP Workflow can interact with external solutions.
    In summary to your question:
    1) Interface required YES - ARCHIVELINK CERTIFIED in case you want to store documents in external DSM that need to be connected to your SAP transactions
    2) Level of effort is depending on your scenario

  • Best practices for apps integration with third party systems ?

    Hi all
I would like to know if there is any document from oracle or from your own regarding best practices for apps integration with third party systems.
For example, in particular, let's say we need customization in a given module(ex:payables) need to provide data to a third party system, consider following:
    outbound interface:
1)should third party system should be given with direct access to oracle database to access a particular payments data information table/view to look for data ?
    2) should oracle create a file to third party system, so that it can read and do what it need to do?
    inbound:
    1) should third party should directly login and insert data into tables which holds response data?
    2) again, should third party create file and oralce apps will pick up for further processing?
again, there could be lot of company specific scenarios like it has to be real time or not... etc...
How does companies make sure third party systems are not directly dipping into other systems (oracle apps/others), so that it will follow certain integration best practices.
how does enterprise architectute will play a role in this? can we apply SOA standards? should use request/reply using Tibco etc?
Many oracle apps implementations customizations are more or less directly interacting with third party systems by including code to login into respective third party systems and vice versa.
Let me your know if you have done differently and that would help oracle apps community.
    thanks
    rrb.

you want to send idoc to third party system (NONSAP).
what kind of system is it? can it handle http requests
    or
    can it handle webservice?
which version of R/3 you are using?
what is the mechanism the receiving system has, to receive data?

  • User license query while integrating with SAP HR system

One of our clients wants to develop  web based employee self service applications (web enabled modules) on their existing SAP HR suite.
Currently they are on SAP HR , ECC 5.0
Would they need to buy extra licenses for integration with the existing system or can the existing licenses be used concurrently?
I am not sure where to look for this piece of information. In case this question is inappropriate to this forum my apologies for the same.
    Best Regards
    Yuvaraj

    Yuvaraj,
The best thing would be for your client to contact their SAP account representative and check how many and what type of users their existing licensing agreement with SAP includes.

  • How can SMART METER Technology be integrated with SAP ISU system?

At present the SMART METER technology is integrated with SAP ISU through a third party vendor. The idocs are sent to a third party and the readings are downloaded and sent back in idoc segments.

  • BEx Integration with different source systems

    Hi All
I know we can create BEx querys on top of an infoprovider. But instead of storing data into BW and creating reports using BEx tools can we integrate BEx with the other source systems.  Like Business Objects tool which can be integrated with different sources. My client wants to know whether we can integrate with BEx for the following
Support data source -- SAP BW
    Support data source -- Oracle
Support data source -- MS SQL Server
Support data source -- MS Access
Support data source -- MS Excel
Support data source -- ASCII Text files
    Support data source -- XML/XSD
Support data source -- Web Services
Support data source -- SAP R/3
Support data source -- BO Universe
Thanks for letting me know your opinions

    Hi,
in theory you can. You will still have a virtual provider on top of your Infosource which will be connected to your datasource; thus you'll have to create the structures; you'll have to load master data as well... so not so nice solution if you think that at this stage, the storage will be the less of your costs....
How are you going to deal with R/3 data?? I mean a great advantage of BW is really when you have an R/3 behind...
I'd rather consolidate all these disparate datasources using the Visual compsoer which can get this data out of nearly an datasource and merge them in one single report; in theory again you could implement all BEx functionalities but at which cost and effort??
Weird that a customer is asking such a question because it is usually the other way around: use SAP BW data in another front-end... by the way SAP is going to acquire BO soon....
    hope this helps...
    Olivier.

    Hi Ram,
I am not sure if this is still a valid question. But anyways, you can find the process here [http://help.sap.com/saphelp_crm50/helpdata/en/ac/0a346c104541af9d587666efc95da3/content.htm ].
    1.     Maintain an RFC destination to the CTI system
                              Transaction sm59
Select http connections to external server and click on create
                              Enter all details.
                              Save
    2.     SAP Menu
Interaction Center -> Interaction Center WebClient -> Administration -> Communication Management Software -> Interface Settings -> Maintain Communication Management Software Connections
Maintain the entry "BCM" and corresponding rfc connection entry
    3.     SPRO -> CRM -> Interaction Center -> Basic Functions -> Communication Channels -> Define Communication Management Software Profiles ? Maintain a new entry for CTI system
    4.     Maintain Business Role
SPRO - > Customer relationship management -> Business role -> define business role
Select IC agent and click on ?Assign function profiles?
For the function profile ID ?CONTACTCENTER? maintain the created CTI profile (you can use f4 help)
                              Save
    5. Maintain system settings ( TA:  CRMM_IC_MCM_CCADMX) and assign the profile that was created in IMG to the CMS system ID in the admin menu (TA: CRMM_IC_MCM_CCLNK).

  • Interface with external email system

Currently, Oracle Customer Relationship Management Release 3i can only allow internet messaging. I have 2 queries:
    1. How does internet messaging works? Where do you configure it?
    2. Is it possible to link the messaging system to Lotus Notes?
    null

    Hi,
The entire architecture of messaging in Oracle is built on Oracle Worklfow.
The messages are not only internet enabled messaging but also integrate with any MAPI compliant messaging system, UNIX Send Mail and Oracle Mail. Thus Oracle Worklfow can be integrated with Lotus Notes also to provide the notifications which are generated in Oracle.
As far as integrating Lotus Notes with Oracle WOrkflow is concerned , suggest u get in touch with Mr Kirit Goyal at [email protected] who has worked in this area.

  • Cost center integration with HR - logical system for CRT inconsistent

    Hi there,
we are distributing Cost centers from our SAP ERP system to another SAP HR system via ALE [COSMAS01 basic type].
The cost center created in target system contains information about source system logical system name - table CSKS, field LOGSYSTEM.
This is causing problems in Travel Managment in SAP HR system, where we get the error: Logical system for CTR inconsistent.
Cost centers created/changed in HR system does not contain any value in CSKS-LOGSYSTEM field and work fine.
Any ideas how to solve this issue?
For now to fix the issue, user needs to do a phony change in SAP HR system to get rid of original LOGSYSTEM value.
I am thinking about removing field E1CSKSM-LOGSYSTEM from COSMAS IDoc but I gues there must be simpler soloution.
    Thanks for your advices,
    Igor

    Igor :
I think this has something to do with matching logical system with controlling area in TKA01. Another option for cc's logical system to have no values when outbound ALE is to config V_TKA01_ALE (so it will be transported to the system that has cc ALE to other systems) to have field 'ALE Distribution Method' blank (No distribution to other system).
This way, when SAP is creating outbound idoc for COSMAS, field CSKS-logicalsystem will not be populated (logic is in SAP 'MASTERIDOC_CREATE_COSMAS' , around line 86).
    Rgds.

  • SAP IDM  7.0 integration with third party system

    Hi Experts,
I know SAP IDM  7.0 can integrate with third party systems and create user ids on most of the third party systems.
But I need to know regarding If it is possible to integrate with following systems
    1) Microsoft Exchange 2007 (  I know till exchange 2003 SAP  IDM support )
    2)  Microsoft  Active directory 2008 ( I know till Actice directory 2003)
    3) EMC  Documentum 6.5
    4)  ARIS 7.1.0
    5)  BlackBoard, Release 9.0
    6) Oracle 10g  ( Is it possible to create users at oracle level ? or at what level ? )
    7)  Sun Solaris Sparc  ( Is it possible to create users at  OS level )
If you have information how on this please share. I know that  provisioning framework will have templates for most of the target systems. I want to know if they are available for above systems on SAP IDM 7.0 or if not have we can connect to them?

    Hi Matthew
Your expertise in SAP IDM is indeed a great help!!
    >Can't see why not, it's all done via SQL commands. I've done similar things with MSSQL
You mean that there will be oracle 10g drivers/oledb connectors in SAP IDM and in through SQL commands like "create user alfredo identified by alfredos_secret; " we can create user  in oracle database ?. As you said this should be possible.  What about creating user( user management ) in oracle 10g application  like dba or scot  and assigning the privileges in oracle application?
    >might need to do via UNIX scripts, but it can be done
You mean that Unix scripts will be defined in SAP IDM and SAP IDM will execute these scripts in the Sun Solaris Sparc ?. It should be possible as you said. By the way how we will be able connect to Sun Solaris sparc ?  Is it via  the option "file " under the "Repositories" with repositories wizard  and later executing the file from SAP IDM ?
Thank you once again for your expert answers on third party systems.

  • SPM : Integration with External Data Sources

    Dear Experts,
Can you let me know with your comments or by sharing any link or documentation, as to how to Integrate SPM with External Data Sources.
And how many or what all external Data Sources, can SPM Connect with ?
    Regards
    Pankaj

    Hi Pankaj,
There are no limitations of external data you can bring into BW and visualise in the SPM UI - you can expose custom bex queries as "datasources" in the user interface, and these can show anything you like. Its just a question about what makes sense to show in SPM.
Are you looking to bring in anything specific?
    Thanks
    Neil
