Manual CUP provisioning

We are using CUP (BO AC 5.3 SP14) with role provisioning via SAP CUA. Whenever there is a system upgrade etc on our CUA systems, we would prefer if any role requests could be "put on hold" in CUP, ie keep all workflow functionality but just not provision the role to the user in the last step. There are also other reasons why we during certain periods would like to control when roles are provisioned from CUP to SAP
When turning off "Auto provision at end of each path" the system completes all workflow steps without problems, but the request is closed and the role not assigned in SAP
Just turning off "Role auto provisioning" does not fulfill our requirements, as this assigns the role to the user in SAP but do not run the last user compare step
So, is there any way to manually trigger/import the role assignment from CUP request database that have been approved in e.g the last 12h, or since the last manual import (delta)?

Hello Frank, and thanks for your reply - interesting alternative solution, though you also confirm this cannot easily be "imported" from the CUP database. I think we need to test this scenario in order to find the best option.
I assume we need to setup a specific user for the CUA connector, so that all other connectors are still available when the CUA user is disabled. We already have a Manager and Role owner approval in our CUP workflow. The SAP role is assigned following role owner approval. If possible, we could perhaps redirect all requests that fails due to technical connector issues in the last approval/role assignment step to a Basis admin. That might mean we would automatically manage all technical scenarios whithout changing workflows
Indeed this is not a very common scenario, but due to upgrades we will have several periods with downtime on our central CUA in the next coming months. We also have regular "freeze periods" in our environment, meaning no roles are allowed to be assigned. If we can still manage to run the workflow seamless for an end-user, then that would very useful

CUP Provisions user to SAP successfully but gives "Auto-Provisioning" error

Hi All,
I'm getting an "auto-provisioning" error in CUP when a "Change Account" workflow is approved. The strange thing is, CUP does successfully provision the change to the SAP backend. Yet, the "New Account" provisions successfully without the error.
Here is an example of the audit trail log from Change Account:

Thanks for the thought on this. We don't use User Defaults for Change Account, but do for New Account. You question prompted me to do more testing with very interesting results.
Results
New Account with User Defaults configured:
User provisioned successfully, no Auto-Provision error, Defaults NOT provisioned.
New Account without User Defaults configured:
User provisioned successfully, no Auto-Provision error.
Change Account with User Defaults configured:
User provisioned successfully, no Auto-Provision error, Defaults NOT provisioned.
Change Account without User Defaults configured:
User provisioned successfully, Auto-Provision ERROR, Defaults NOT provisioned.
In both New and Change Account, the configured User Defaults are NOT provisioned even though the user is provisioned. AC5.3 is on SP12, the RTA is VIRSANH SP12 and VIRSAHR SP10.
For the Change Account, the user is always provisioned regardless of User Defaults; however, when no User Default is configured, the Auto-Provisioning error occurs. The User Defaults NOT provisioning is a real problem, the CUP error message, I can work around for now.
What about on your side? Am I the only guy using SP12 here?

GRC AC 10 CUP : Provisioning of Approved roles (Line Item)

Hello Gurus,
We have configured CUP in GRC AC 10, and mapped a workflow for the same.
Now when a user request for new roles e.g.) 3 roles
Role 1 , Role 2 , Role 3 each roles has a different role owner.
When the request goes to the role owner for approval and 1 of the 3 role owner rejects the request the whole request gets rejected.
Is it possible to have functionality where roles which are approved will go ahead and get "Provisioned" and the whole request wont completely get rejected ??

I guess you can work with the approval/ rejection level (stage 5 in the WF configuration).

CUP Provisioning workflows

We have a unique use case.
Say we have two roles A and B in a single workflow request.
We want to create a workflow in CUP, that will auto provision A and not auto provision B (just capture the approval).
Is this possible in CUP workflow?

It sounds like you are trying to set up portal role provsioning through GRC. We are trying to do the same thing. Do you have the portal setup completed is that side working?

CUP Provisioning into LDAP

Hi Gurus,
We are trying to figure out if we can provision a NEW user ID into LDAP (AD) through CUP? Ideally we will have a Manager enter a request into CUP that includes a user's SAP access as well as AD and have CUP autoprovision this access.
In reading the guides it seems CUP can only write groups to existing AD users.
Does anyone have any thoughts or experiences?

Grace,
CUP can provision existing LDAP groups to existing IDs, but as you said, cannot create new ones. The best method to incorporate this would be to connect CUP to an IDM system to provision the ID and access. If this is not acceptable, the other option is to create a custom connector that would communicate with a third party application (such as a macro/script) that would create the IDs through a separate process.
I know this isn't the news you want to hear, but I hope it helps!

Role Creation in CUP 5.3

I'm trying to understand the concept of what is called "role creation" in Compliant User Provisioning.
My understanding is that the "create role" option in CUP (configuration>Roles>Create Role) means simply adding the "attributes" such as a business process, functional area, system, or company, to the SAP roles that you imported into CUP.
It seems that, with CUP, once you have imported SAP roles and "adjusted" them (adding attributes), you are no longer operating PFCG and SU01 in the SAP backend system. From this point on, everything is done in CUP (provisioning) and ERM (creating additional roles).
Please tell me if I'm wrong.

The create role option in CUP is mainly for legacy/non-cup supported systems. This way you can follow the standard workflow process for LDAP/Windows/legacy system. In this user provisioning and role assignment will not be done through CUP and will be manual. This is very important for some companies as they want user to go through same process if they want to get access to any system and not only ERP system.
The below statement is wrong.

Is it possible to create a CUP request initiated from the ECC backend?

Hello GRC experts,
I am hoping to solve a problem by interrogating the HR and SAP users tables in the ECC backend, and then in some cases, creating CUP provisioning requests to delimt specific user roles. I am not aware of any functionality that allows creation of requests other than HR triggers or manual data entry. (HR triggers do not satisfy our need as we are doing direct provisioning, so we must explicitly specify roles in the request. )
Has anyone done this before? Any ideas.

Start with the test option in web service explorer to find out which items you need in the request.
Roles must still be imported in CUP. You'll need about the exact same configuration in CUP like for manual requests, the web service will basically just fill out the request form.

DPS Single Edition - Wrong builder ID, how to fix it?

Hello all,
We design a quarterly magazine, and we´re using a dps single edition license to have it available to the readers as an iPad independent app, for each edition.
We were doing our second edition, and by error, on the Viewer Builder on the provisioning step we used the old mobileprovision files from the first edition (with the old bundle id).
The result is easy to find out - the app created on the DPS Viewer Builder (and signed with the old provisioning files) is not correct when compared with the one prepared on iTunes Connect for this second edition, and we only noticed that when we were trying to submit the app with the Apple´s Application Loader.
So my question is easy: how can we edit our mag on viewer builder and change for the new provisioning files (we need to use a new bundle id because the second edition is not an upgrade but a new app) on the without buying and new DPS Single Edition License (please mind that when we edit it we can use new provisioning files but they should keep the same mobile provision id or else we get the following error "Bundle ID inside the mobileprovision does not match the bundle ID used for the build").

Hi Bob, thank you for your reply.
Re-creating the file unfortunately doesn´t solve my problem:
1) if I edit the app on the viewer and replace the provisioning files (now with the correct bundle id) I get "Bundle ID inside mobileprovision does not match the bundle ID used for build (which was xxx.xxxxx.xxx)" , which makes sense because I´ve used first the wrong ones (and that´s why I´m in deep trouble and unable to upload it to Apple)
2) if I create a new app, even with the same name, at the end it asks for the Single Edition serial number to activate, and if I use the one that I´ve bought, I get "Serial number already redeemed".
If there isn´t any other solution (all ideas are welcome) I´ll contact tech support from Adobe in order to reset my Serial number (or something similar) because we can´t afford to buy another serial without using first the one we have paid for.

my program doesnt need to account for namespaces apart from that I cant see why this would work and my one not.

GW 2014 integration with eDirectory

Hi;
I like to ask question about out of box Groupwise 2014 and external eDirectory integration.
Is it possible to create a new user in external eDirectory and have Groupwise automatically provision a mailbox using the attributes at eDirectory. I mean we do not want any admin intervention on GW 2014 admin console, we would like the provisioning step to be done full automatically, also we do not want to use IDM product, we like to use out of box GW 2014 and eDirectory products.
To achieve this functionality i add external eDirectory Server from "Ldap Server" menu at GW admin console and selected "Enable Synchronisation" option but after this i need to use "User Import" option at GW 2014 menu everytime to import new users, i could not find a way to automate this process without any admin intervention. I need to use "User Import" option everytime to provision new users fro GW but we would like this process to be done full automatically by GW's itself.

If you use the iManager plugin for GroupWise 2014, you can add the new

Essbase 11.1.2.1 Users not inheriting filter access from group

Hello all! We installed Essbase 11.1.2.1 in a distributed environment integrated with Shared Services and ran into an issue when provisioning users via groups. Using Shared Services we created a Native Directory Group and User. We provisioned the group with the Server Access Role and Filter Application role, then assigned the filter to the group using 'assign access control' on the application in Shared Services. For some reason using the Essbase add-in we are unable to retrieve data from the database. We receive an error stating the user id does not have read access to the db. If we carry out the same provisioning steps above on the user directly, we are able to retrieve data from the database. Any ideas on what might be causing this?

In V11.1.2.2 ESSBASE is managed by OPMN. OPMN needs to be started before starting ESSBASE. You need to use "start.sh". Please do the following
1) Run "stop.sh" that is in the starter scripts folder - This will stop all Oracle EPM components that are installed on the box
2) Run "start.sh" - this will start OPMN, ESSBASE and all other installed components
The "startEssbase.sh" and "stopEssbase.sh" can be used to start or stop ESSBASE only when OPMN is already running.

OIM-request based provisiong-into OID groups

Hi,
when i log in as normal user in OIM and request for OID user resource it does not show up OID groups. The requirement is, when user request a resource via self-service, he should be able to select OID groups to which he should be provisioned. How this can be achieved?

You need to copy the information from the object form to the process form.
I think you can datasink child forms (you really should be able to). If not you will have to write some code that is invoked during pre pop of the provisioning form that moves the content from the child form on the object form to the child form on the process form.
You may actually want to do this as a final provisioning step as I know that the group management provisioning code in the OID connector works well in that situation but I am not sure if the usecase of a filled out group child form is managed well.

Fuji Xerox Basic B&W Laser Priner P205B - Any chance?

Just purchased this laser printer without checking driver support, doh!
It seems a relatively new printer and most google searches related to fuji/linux/drivers bring up older (more industrial heavy weight) models.

I appreciate there is obviously no magic driver, but if I wanted to troubleshoot this myself where would I start?

Firstly, I found a project 'a linux printer driver for HBPL protocol' contains some HBPL printer drivers.
foo2hbpl contains driver of p105b/p205b .
The website is http://foo2hbpl.rkkda.com/
I tested it in archlinux.
Works very smoothly with cups.
Enjoy it.
Secondly,most FUJI XEROX provide Mac OSX drivers. In this drivers ,PPDs can directly be used in CUPS.
Steps of extraing PPD file as following:
1. Download the Mac OSX drivers from Fuji Xerox's site as name fxdpm255df_z0039m109ml.img
2. $ yaourt -S dmg2img
3. Convert the dmg file into an image:
$ dmg2img fxdpm255df_z0035m108ml.dmg m255.img
4. Mount the obtained image:
# pacman -S hfsprogs
$ mkdir img
# mount -t hfsplus -o force m255.img img
5. Use xar (yum install xar) to extract the pkg file:
$ yaourt -S xar
$ cp img/FX\ DocuPrint\ M255\ df_z\ Installer.pkg .
$ mkdir m255 && cd m255
$ xar -xf ../FX\ DocuPrint\ M255\ df_z\ Installer.pkg
6. Inside the extracted folders, locate and copy the Payload file with the PPDs:
$ cp 105ppdsm255df.pkg/Payload ../Payload.cpio.gz
7. Gunzip the file and extract the cpio archive:
$ cd ..
$ gunzip Payload.cpio.gz
$ mkdir ppd && cd ppd
$ cpio -id < ../Payload.cpio
8. Voilà! your PPD files :
$ cd PPDs/Contents/Resources/
$ ls
FX DocuPrint M255 df Fax.ppd.gz FX DocuPrint M255 z Fax.ppd.gz
FX DocuPrint M255 df.ppd.gz FX DocuPrint M255 z.ppd.gz
9. import FX DocuPrint M255 df.ppd.gz or FX DocuPrint M255 z.ppd.gz to cups and then printer is OK.
Lastly,I install p205b drivers in this way. I get error like this: /usr/lib/cups/fxhr2ap is not found.
I extra the fxhr2ap like above, the error is still there.
And, I guess the error cause by this:
$ file fxhr2ap
fxhr2ap: Mach-O universal binary with 2 architectures: [ppc: Mach-O ppc executable] [i386: Mach-O i386 executable]
fxhr2ap cannot run in archlinux.

Viewer Builder and Title ID

This is my first time publishing a magazine using the Viewer Builder.
Which ID should I use in the first window inside the Viewer Builder, ther it asks for "Title ID"?
Can anyone help me?

Its a Multi-issue App I wont to create, and I have read and watched a lot of videos and iformation, but I have not find exactly information about the Provisioning step in Viewer Builder.
And I see that I nedd certificats. I have create an developer.p12 anda a distribution.p12 certificate (but if they are right I dont know ...)
Is it a place where I can find more information or can you tell me a easy way ;-)
