CUP Reset password link in email .Set to https but how to protect?
Hi all,
we have Password Self Services working and sending out emails to users with a https link BUT is there anyway to protect the link in that email i.e. if you fwd that email to another user and they are a valid user in CUP they can open the email. Either authentication (which would require some userinfo in the link in the email) or encryption (which would require sending the email encrypted out of CUP).
Any ideas?
Regards
Daniel
Hi, can you advise how you set that CUP sends email with HTTPS link? Thanks.

i have a new email so have a new apple ID now and am trying to change it in icloud. but it has locked me out and won't send my email a reset password link for some reason. even though it says its sent, it doesnt come to the email address. help!
Welcome to the Apple community.
If you are unable to remember your password, security questions, don’t have access to your rescue address or are unable to reset your password for whatever reason, your only option is to contact Apple ID Support, upon speaking to an operator you should explain that your problem is related to your Apple ID, this way you will not be charged for assistance, even if you don’t have an AppleCare plan.
You will need to show patience with the procedure and be prepared to demonstrate without question that the account belongs to you. Don’t expect access to be restored immediately and if you aren’t the owner of the Apple ID registered to the device the account won’t be reset.

how do i delete icloud account on my ipad when my apple ID is non active email and i don't know the password and can't reset password without active email
If the iCloud account you are trying to delete is old ID that was later updated to change it to your current ID, you can go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now, if desired, you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

How do I create a "Reset Password Link" using apex for OracleExpress 10g?
I'd like to add a "Reset Password" link to my application, but am not sure how to implement this.
I see there is htmldb_util.reset_pw procedure, but this can only be called if the current user has admin privs. Clearly, an end user will not be able to logon as the administrator in order to reset their password!
I tried preceding the call to htmldb_util.reset_pw with a call to htmldm_custom_auth.set_user, and whilst the page showed the name of the admin user when it displayed, the call to htmldb_util.reset_pw still raised the exception that the current user must have admin privs.
Can anyone help please? Thanks Pete

pcarlislYou can either "play" with permissions for each user or you collect the reset password requests into a table and use DBMS_SCHEDULER to run the reset procedure every few minutes - this of course makes only sense, if said reset procedure can be used on different users from one account.

Trying to erase settings from my old iphone but when I have to enter my itunes ID password the old email address is displayed. How can I change this to my existing itunes account so I can reset this phone? Thanks in advance.
I know it sounds weird, and that is the reason I posted my question. Because my case is not like all the ones I've found online and it's confusing. I added a screen capture of my itunes with my old iphone (the one that houses my playlists) connected to it.
My playlists "ARE" in my iphone 4s. They are still there even though they do not show up when I plug in to itunes in my computer.
When connecting my phone to itunes on my macbook, the playlists do not appear anywhere in itunes. I have found my connected iphone icon, I have clicked on the arrow next to it and it does pull up the standard lists that come with the iphone/itunes: Music, Movies, TV shows, books. That's it! below that is "Genius" and below "Geniuns" is "PLAYLISTS" but the only playlist of mine that shows there is one that I created several years back titled "90's music" and that one I created it on my computer, not my phone. Under "90's music" there are also other standard playlists that itunes automatically adds.
Does anyone else have this issue or know how to get around this. I am starting to think that I am going to have to recreate these lists on my computer -

Icloud account Help not receiving a change password link to email address
Good day Forum. I am going to explain my situation as concise and detailed ..any help would be greatly be appreciated. I had created an appled id account for my daughter when she got her phone for christmas under that apple id as months passed my wife starting adding contacts under icloud account. Til then she had accumalted about 300 contacts under my daughter phone (icloud account [email protected]) My question is when i went under that account and changed the primary email address to my wifes aol email. I did this because i created my daughter a new apple id and wanted her old apple id simply changed to my wifes email address. Does it delete that account and totally create a new apple id? When i changed the email address i thought the account (contacts would simply just be associated with the new email address. As i added the new email address to my wifes new iphone, all the 300 contacts do not show. I have sent hunddres of forgot password links to the old associated email address ([email protected]) and never receive a password reset. I am trying to regain that icloud account because it is under theere were my wife had all her 300 contacts. Please help
Contact the Apple account security team for your country to verify your identity and ask for assistance: Apple ID: Contacting Apple for help with Apple ID account security. The call should be free of charge. If your country isn't listed, contact iTunes store support by filling out this form: https://www.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html.

I am trying to restore access to another Apple ID via the ‘Forgot your password’ link. I enter the e-mail address as an apple ID and click ‘Next’. This offers 2 options:
1) Email authentication: To access your information, we will send an email to the address(es) on file for you.
2) Answer security questions: To access your information, you will need to answer the security question(s) provided when you originally created your Apple ID.
Selecting the first option, the message ‘Email has been sent’ is displayed. However, no email is ever received at the address entered. I have tried this numerous times.
Selecting the second option offers the prompt ‘Please verify your birth date to continue.’ I enter the date of birth and am presented with the message ‘The authentication information provided does not match our records. Please verify your personal information and try again’.
Catch 22 - can anyone help me, as this seems an impossible situation for me to rectify?I had a similar problem. I had to call Apple support via phone and ask what apple ids my email was associated with. He was able to give me the email server it was associated with (ex: yahoo, gmail, hotmail, etc) and that sparked off the memory I needed to recall that ancient and unused apple id. Then I had to recover the password, log in to that old id and change the primary email address.
As for no verification email sent, there is a major lag between changing your settings and them actually changing in Apple's system. I don't know why this is. I couldn't delete a secondary email no matter what I tried. Then 4 hours later, it finally let me do it.
hope this helped a litte, good luck! -
Hello everyone,
In CUP, is the only way to do password resets by using Password Self Service? The client wants their IT Helpdesk to reset passwords for the users, but they want them to go through CUP. Is this possible?
Thank you!
JohonnaHi Johonna,
Password self service relieves IT helpdesk from burden of password reset requests. If your client insists on making use of CUP for users to log a request and IT helpdesk to reset the password then you can do it, but IT helpdesk has to manually reset the password and communicate to user. In this case CUP's only use would be as a request logging/tracking tool.
You will need to setup custom request type, workflows for password reset request of type CUP. Workflow can have one stage for IT helpdesk. Once user submits a request IT helpdesk can do password reset manually, inform the user and then log a comment in CUP request before closing.
Actually there are many better tools if a ticket logging/tracking system is needed by client (ex. Remedy).

trying to change my email address on my account, where do i do this?

Probably.
something has to be set up wrong on my iphone, cant figure it out
You need to use the AppleID & Password you used to set up the iPhone. -
i have a 3g iphone. I dowloaded Icloud months ago. I have just today started getting popups on my phone to ...Sign in to ICloud... Enter the apple ID password for "my email address that i use on my iphone".
Is this a virus? And how do i stop this madness. How did you download iCloud with an iPhone 3G?
Accessing an iCloud account is not supported with an iPhone 3G.
There are no viruses that affect or infect iOS, unless you have purposely jailbroken/hacked your iPhone which removes all built in security included with iOS allowing you to download unofficial apps from unknown and untrusted sources which can include malware.
Don't remember where you access your Apple ID with the App Store with iOS 4 which is the latest version for an iPhone 3G, but have you checked there? If so, try logging out of your Apple ID followed by logging back in with the iTunes App Store. -
Reset passwords on OS X 10.8.2 but now i can log in at all
I was trying to load software for a modem but forgot the admin password. I then tried to reset the system password using the terminal, now i can't login at all. How can i bypass this to at least be able to log on again then fix things from there.
First, make sure caps lock is not on.
Another reason why your password might not be recognized is that the keyboard layout (input source) has been switched without your realizing it. At the login screen, you can cycle through the available layouts by pressing the key combination command-space or command-option-space. See this support article.
You must back up all data before continuing, unless you've already done so. If you need to back up but can't log in, ask for instructions.
If the user account is associated with an Apple ID, and you know the Apple ID password, then maybe the Apple ID can be used to reset your user account password.
Otherwise*, boot into Recovery mode. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. In the Terminal window, type this:
res
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password window opens.
Select your boot volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Follow the prompts to reset the password. It's safest to choose a password that includes only the characters a-z, A-Z, and 0-9.
Select
▹ Restart
from the menu bar.
You should now be able to log in with the new password, but your Keychain will be reset (empty.) If you've forgotten the Keychain password (which is ordinarily the same as your login password), there's no way to recover it.
*Note: If you've activated FileVault, this procedure doesn't apply. Follow instead these instructions. -

ShankarHi natesanfromchennai,
I have two articles for you that may help you address this issue. First, here is the article with a few different options for resetting your Apple ID password:
If you forgot your Apple ID password
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5787
You may want to try to answer your security questions instead of waiting for a reset email. If you want to reset your password via email, but are not receiving the email, try using the following article to help you resolve this:
If you didn't receive your Apple ID verification or reset email
