CUPS 8 with OCS

Hi,
I'm integrating the CUPS 8 with OCS R2 for the RCC feature.In the MOC i got the error message no connection to the phone.
When i started the troubleshooting from the OCS SIP stack debugging , " SIP 2.0 401 unauthorized " from the CUPS.
I'm not able to do the any troubleshooting from the CUPS because of the following issue.

"Unauthorized" could be caused by multiple issues:
1) CUCM > User Management > End User. Device was not associated with the user.
2) CUCM > User Management > End User. End user was not in "Standard CTI Enable" group.
3) CUCM > Device > Phone. Device or line does not have the check box "Allow Controlled from CTI" enabled.
4) CUCM > User Management > End User. There are more than one device associated with the user, but the "Line URI" in Active Directory was not able to identify the device uniquely (i.e. specifying the device name).

CUMC 7.1.x Presence with OCS 2007 Federation

Hi - We have a customer who is looking to use CUCIMOC (CUCM 7.1.3) on the desktop, but utilise CUMC / CUMA 7.1.x on their Blackberry devices.
Is it possible to extend the MOC Presence / IM features out to the BB CUMC 7.1.x client (and vice-versa) through an OCS > CUPS federation with CUMA?
Any thoughts appreciated.

Last time I looked at this (I know Michael will be typing a more accurate response as I do this one) it had just become possible (in v7 of CUMA and CUPS) to share presence info between CUMA and CUPS (effectively CUMA lost it's presence engine and used the CUPS one), and between CUPS and OCS via federation... but the docs suggested it wasn't possible to get the presence info from OCS>CUPS>CUMA.
The other thing to consider is that federation isn't the same as having two different clients from the same vendor on your phone and desktop - for example, if it did work you would have your OCS contacts list on your desktop, and a separately managed list of federated contacts on your CUMC client. Most users would find that sort of thing clunky I suspect...

Problem with OCS connection.

Hi all
Since two days we encounter some problems with OCS for the connection.
Principally by accessing OCS Content Services with the web client and by Oracle Drive.
We've tested using Content Services Web Services it's OK
From the web client :
Clear the private data (cookies ) from Firefox .
Access following URL : http://hera.gva.spg.ch:7777/content/app/explorerPage.jspx
Normally we should be redirected to the SSO Login page - We have a "No response from Application Web Server"
The workaround is : Access directly the SSO Login page, authenticate (to put the cookie in the browser), return to http://hera.gva.spg.ch:7777/content/app/explorerPage.jspx page : it's OK
We could work with files in the Web File Explorer.
Follwoing URLs have also problems :

When accessing by the web services : we connect then put some files... it's OK

Antispam with OCS 9.0.4.2

Hi,
We are running OCS 9.0.4.2 with spamcatcher from mailshell as antispam engine. But for the past few months, its not able to catch most of the SPAM. And when tried to contact their support, there is no response at all. So can anyone suggest an alternative ANTISPAM solution that works good with OCS.

Depends on where you want the emails to be filtered?
In the database - I believe only Symantec has a product for the OCS.
Outside (as in mail relay) nearly every product acting as an intermediair between the outside world and the OCS could do this. I know a couple of companies using MIMEsweeper in such a setting. But do get some technical infos from other comapnies, too.

How to connect Lync 2013 client with OCS 2007 R2 Edge server

Hi,
We have OCS 2007 R2 Edge server for external & OCS 2007 R2 FE Server for internal access in our environment.
We able to access internally Lync2013 clients with OCS 2007R2 server, however from external we cannot access Lync2013 client with OCS2007 R2 server.
Is there any patch or registry key trick to access OCS from lync2013 client externally? We cannot immediately migrate to Lync2013 server from OCS.

Hi,
I suggest you still use OCS 2007 R2 client to login OCS 2007 R2 Server untill finishing migration to Lync Server 2013, as using Lync client with OCS 2007 R2 Server will offer a pretty limited experience.

Problem with Session with OCS 10g

Hello,
I'm trying to connect to OCS 10g via web services. At the moment i'm trying the sample provided with the content manager SDK. I can login correctly to the "remoteLoginManager" and i obtain the sessionCookie. But when i call any other webService i get a FDKException "Access Denied"
In Http Analyzer of jedev i see that the Session cookie is correctly set in any call to the web service.
I'm missing something?

what do you do to validate the session .
If you try to access the value in the session after 30 minutes with out checking if it is null , you will get a null pointer exception .
I am not sure if this can cause this error, but you can check your code to make sure you are not doing this

Upgrade OID for use with OCS?

we run Oracle Application Server 10.1.2.0.0, and we received a request to have the OID of our system used by applications build with Oracle Collaboration Suite 10.1.2.3.
1. In general: Is it possible to run OCS 10.1.2.3 apps against the OID of an AS 10.1.2.0.0 installation?
2. Is there any upgrade path from the OID which comes with AS 10.1.2.0.0 to the OID included in OCS 10.1.2.3 and AS 10.1.2.0.2?
3. Unfortunately, there seems to be no way to upgrade the complete AS 10.1.2.0.0 to 10.1.2.0.2. If so, what would be the preferred way to upgrade at least the OID to 10.1.2.1.0?

To answer Q3) the upgrade path from 10.1.2 is to use 10g Release 2 (10.1.2) Patch Set 1 (10.1.2.1.0) ). From the patch set notes
This patch set is not a complete software distribution. You must install this patch set over one of the following existing installations:
* Oracle Application Server 10g Release 2 (10.1.2.0.0)
* Oracle Application Server 10g Release 2 (10.1.2.0.1) Standard Edition One
Functional wise 10.1.2.1 is the same as 10.1.2.0.2

Epson XP-200 failing on CUPS with a "Filter Failed" error

After this last update, my printer has stopped working completely, always with a "Filter failed" error.
Before the update it worked perfectly, never had an issue.
I've tried every combination of turning on and off, reinstalling the drivers, reinstalling cups, etc... nothing got any results.
None of the related issues I found googling got me anywhere closer to having it work either.
If anyone has some fix for this it would be very appreciated

You show the OS receiving an image from Photoshop, and the OS starting the Epson print driver and handing it part of the image, the driver connects to the printer, then the print driver fails. It looks like a bug in the Epson rasterizer, or the printer communication.
You really need to talk to Epson. Photoshop isn't involved in that error.

Auto install printerdriver from CUPS with info from dns record

I have a Linux server with CUPS serving our printers. Authentication is needed to print. For easy installation on our Macs, I added my printerinfo to our DNS so that the printers are browseable in OS X Lion and Mountain Lion. This setup only partly works on Mac (it works from airprint capable clients).
When I limit the list of printers to 5 or so, I can install those printers by clicking the "+" button in the printer configuration screen, and choosing the printer from the list. The printqueue is created and the correct driver is installed. I can use the printer without problems.
When I add more printers to DNS I don't get the list of printers directly when clicking on the "+" sign (the list is too big I guess). I get the "add printer" screen, with a list of all my printers. When I select a printer, the "location" field is taken from the DNS record (that's fine), but the driver falls back to "generic PS driver" instead of the driver I have set in the DNS record.
What's the difference between the "shortcut" when only a few printers are browseable, and the "add printer" wizard that list more of them? They seem to get the driver info differently.
As a workaround: anyone knows how to add a printer via commandline with auto configuration, the same way as clicking the "+" sign and choosing a printer ?

Replace grouped window task icon from java coffee cup with customised icon

I have an application that a child JFrame instance can be triggered from the main JFrame instance. In that case, these JFrames are collapsed under one group icon on my task bar in windows, which is the java coffee cup icon with tooltip of Java(TM) Platform. When i expand the list, each individual JFrame still has the right personised icon. Can anyone suggest how do I customised the group icon to be my own icon and have personised tooltip? Integrating CUPS with Exchange for Calendaring

Hi,
I have a query about the certificates work when integrating CUPS and Exchange for calendaring information.
I have a front-end exchange server with OWA installed and this is the one I'll use to connect CUPS to. However, the exchange server can only have one certificate and this certificate has the external name of the server - ie. owa.domain.com
Obviously my CUPS server will be connecting to the server internally but the internal name of the server is exchange.domain.local which doesn't match the certificate name therefore will give an error.
How do we get CUPS to accept the external certificate when connecting to the internal side of the server.

We had the same problem, we ended up creating an internal DNS entry that used the external name to allow it to function correctly.

Setting up CUPS with Samba Printer with authentication

Hi,
I'm trying to connect to a network printer (Samba) using CUPS, and I'm not able to correctly set the authentication options. I have tried setting it up according to the wiki, but the problem is that my password contains an '@', and I'm not sure how to enter that into the device URI. Omitting the ":password" bit gives me "NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED" or "NT_STATUS_AUTH_FAILURE" errors (as displayed on the CUPS web interface). The web interface doesn't give me the option to resolve this (actually, CUPS doesn't give me an option to enter auth credentials anywhere during the print process at all!)
I had set it up on Ubuntu earlier, and though the jobs still used to fail with an auth failure, I could access the print job from a printers icon in my system tray, which gave me an option to enter authentication information. I'm afraid I can't use the same workaround here, because I'm using Enlightenment, and I don't know what the corresponding service/module is....

Overdrive app not working with OCS 5

I've used OVERDRIVE for a year to download audiobooks from my local library into the iPod app on my iPhone 3.
Since installing OCS 5 the iPod app is gone and audio books won't download into phone - any ideas why or what to do about it?

CUPS 6.0.6 OCS 2007 R2 RCC continuous self dialing

I have a strange issue with our COS/CUPS integration. RCC and Presence integration work fine. The problem is RCC enabled users on OCS receive missed calls from themselves every 30 minutes. If you are at the desk you will see the phone light up and a call from 'User A' to 'User A'. If you answer the call it hangs up immediatley. If you don't answer the call It goes to VM and hangs up when Unity answers. The same behavior occurs when 'User A' signs into Office Communicator.
The Real Time Trace Logs from RTMT and the OCS Trace logs don't show anything unusal but I can see the SIP Conversation taking place on sign in that sends the SIP INVITE incoming from CUPS.
Is there a 'Presence Timer' that is genereating this call? We have almost the exact same setup in the lab but can not duplicate the behavior.
Any suggestions are appreciated I am stumped.

First of all, CUPS 6.0.x does not support OCS 2007 R2. Which means:
1) This combination was not tested by Cisco. Thus unexpected behavior might be observed.
2) If you run into this problem, Cisco (TAC) won't be able to troubleshoot the problem for you (because it's not supported).
You should use CUPS 7.0.x with OCS 2007 R2.
With that said, here are something under the hood:
For MOC RCC, CUPS has to know which phone device to control. CUPS depends on the "device name" in the TEL URI to detemine which device to control.
Before the "phone selector" plug-in was introduced on CUPS 7.0.x, CUPS use a "call-back" method to detect the device. Which is: CUPS will make test calls to the devices that match the DN in the TEL URI. Whoever answered first would be the one choosen. This might be the cause of the "ghost calls".
