CUPS proxy domain change

Hello all,
I'm planning to change the domain of my cups cluster used by the CUPS clients. I mean just the domain part in [email protected]
I'm wondering if by changing the domain name under cluster topology, settings I'm changing the domain name found in os admin. I don't think so.
I don't want to change all the domains since if I change cups domain I'll need to change also the domain of my CUCM cluster. I want to avoid an unnecessary overhead such as itl problems, and so on

Importance of Certification for Domain Change

I have two years experience in development in .Net technologies in a reputed MNC. After that I took a break for personal reasons and now am planning to get back into the industry. During that period of work, i had taken part in a "boot camp" carried out by my company itself in SAP PI/XI 7.1, which perked a lot of interest in me towards SAP. Domain change, unfortunately, was not encouraged in my company, at least at my level.
I am now looking forward to doing Certification in a SAP module. I have a few questions.
1. Even though I have coding experience, will I be counted as a fresher, since it is not in SAP technologies? I think Certification is important towards improving my chances in improving my chances in securing a job as a SAP consultant?
2. I am leaning more towards functional modules than technical. My work exposed me more towards communications end, especially mobile app development, can any one suggest a good module i should look into? I liked SAP PI/XI since including a bit of coding as well, which i though would be good for me since i have experience in that domain, but some consider it as an advanced module, so I'm really not sure.

1. As far as SAP is concerned, you would be considered as a fresher. However, your .net experience would be some handy. SAP Certification may help to market your CV being a fresher. At the end of day, whether you have Certification or not, you need to show case and prove your abilities in the interview.
2. Particularly, mobile technologies have good demand. You should follow the mobile technology space on SCN. There are some wonder people in this area, I am sure, they would be able to advise you in more details.

Oracle Enteprise manager 11g has stopped working after domain change

We are currently running Oracle 11g on our environment. It was working fine until the domain change. how can i reconfigure oracle such that it can work on the new domain without uninstalling. Oracle runs on morethan eight production VM Windows 20008 R2 servers.

System Domain Change

We will soon be going through a Domain change from "NTDP" to "GOVT".
There is a fair amount of shall we say...hesitation (trying to be nice)...regarding what types of changes, if any, are required for the Business Objects Enterprise XI R2 system. Is anyone aware of any existing documentation regarding such a change?
For example, the configuration tab on all of the crystal servers tell me that the "CMS belongs to cluster 'WIT157.NTDP.Henrico". However, we don't really "cluster" the CMS. In other words, there is only 1 CMS server, not multiple. Regardless, will that cluster name need to change to GOVT? Or this name just a name.
Any other recommendations on things to look into regarding a Domain change like this?
It's been a while since BO XI was installed. Years. I'm not sure anyone's really paid it a lot of attention in this whole domain change things. Trying to make sure this app doesn't slip through the cracks.

The domain change will appear as a server name change in releases prior to XI 3.x. You may need to recreate the server/services. There are SAP notes on this in the SMP.
If you have any services running under AD accounts you must insure they can still run in the new domain (or if the old domain is going away) you will need to create their accounts in the new domain. You will need a domain account for various reasons(like sending reports to a network location or to enabling kerberos).
If you use AD or NT authentication enabled then you may need a lot more planning depending on what's happening to the old domain.

Domain change / Spiceworks pings a nonexistent domain

My company is in the process of switches email providers, moving from johnstown.k12.oh.us to jmk12.org. The email I signed up with is a jmk12.org email, and so Spiceworks keeps attempting to ping jmk12.org — a nonexistent domain. How would I go about changing the ping alert to ping my original domain? I already changed my user settings to use the original email.
Sorry if this is a really stupid question, but I'm new and can't for the life of me figure it out, if it's even possible.

Command to Open "Computer Name/Domain Changes" window

Running the commands SystemPropertiesComputerName or "sysdm.cpl" in command line will open the System Properties window. I still have to click on the "Change" button to
get to the Computer Name/Domain Changes window. Is there a command to get to the
Computer Name/Domain Changes window directly? I have been searching the internet for several days. I've also tried using SendKeys (batch file, VBScript, and in PowerShell) and to send two TABS
and an ENTER key but I can't get it to work. The command doesn't seem to work on the
System Properties window.

OS domain change

Hi ,
We are going to change our DOMAIN in sever, Is that we need to take any pre-requisites in SAP level for the Domain change. We are going to stop the application server before changing the domain.

The system will not work/come up after you switched the domain. You will need to adapt the permissions on the filesystem for the new users (in the new domain), registry permission, OPS$-Users (in case of Oracle) and various other things.
I suggest you do a system copy instead (backup the system, delete it, switch domain and reinstall).

We have around 500 remote distribution point servers. We are going through a domain change for the company. I have read that domain change is not supported officially, so does anyone know the best way we can move all the content library and data from
1.abc.com server to 1.xyz.com server?
Is there is other way we can change the domain of the existing server, and not go through a process of building 500 more servers and move the data?

GRC CUP - How to change SNC Name to lower case during user creation.

We are using GRC 5.3. CUP automatically creates user in R3 but SNC p:username'@'DOMAIN.COM is in upper case.
1. During automated user creation.
2. How change default DOMAIN.COM to lower case "domain.com"
Currently we have to manually change is via SU01 after user has been created.

CUP AD domain and email domain

Hi,
I'm installing CUP 8.6 and CUCM 8.6 with AD and Exchange 2010 schedule integration.
AD domain is domain.local, so user ID is [email protected]
but email domain is customer.com, so mail address is [email protected]
When we configure email address domain in AD same as AD domain
schedule integration works just fine.
AD user: [email protected]
user email in AD: [email protected]
However, when we change AD email adress to email domain
it doesn't sync shcedule anymore.
AD user: [email protected]
user email in AD: [email protected]
From my reading and test,
I noticed CUPS use the AD email ID to fetch the schedule from Exchange;
it doesn't see the account name, so if I configure like following, userA CUPC shows userB shcedule.
AD user: [email protected]
user email in AD: [email protected]
Now, if I change "BusinessEMail" to "otherMailbox" from Application -> Cisco Unified Personal Communicator -> Settings.
and configure like following, schedule works fine, and CUPC user email shown properly.
AD user: [email protected]
user email in AD: [email protected]
user otherMailbox in AD: [email protected]
However, the email in AD will be incorrect address,
and this field will be refered by other systems, so I don't wan't to change.
Is there any way to configure CUPS to refer "otherMailbx" for scheduling?
Or any other workaround?

The nearest I can see that you would get to this using .Mac is - [email protected]@mac.com.
You would be creating an alias in Mac Mail preferences and directing this to your Mac mail. You have the option to color code all messages to this "alias". so that they stand out from your regular mail.
If you publish to a commercial server you will be able to have the email address that you want.
If you are running a commercial site you more or less have to do this. .Mac is not reliable enough, nor fast enough for a commercial site and, apparently, we are not allowed to use it for that purpose.
Having said that, if you do, you will not be alone!
I don't run any commercial sites from .Mac for the reasons given plus a few more but you only have to look at some of the sites showcased in this forum to see that a lot of people do.

CUPS Mutli Domain

We are using CUPS 8.6.2 My firm has asked that i create a new domain due to firm name change, so I created a child domain.
Current root domain bbb.com and the child is ddd.com I have migrated my acount from bbb.com to ddd.com,
in working with cisco we have addressed all of my issues but this one. I am unable to login to cups, I was told because
cups for authentication is looking soley at bbb.com. I was sent this doc http://tools.cisco.com/squish/947A1 and basically
was left to my own devices from cisco which i was not happy with. So I started to do some searching of my own and found this article

This is a rather complicated topic and I may not be able to adiequately cover it here. Also, in their defense, Cico TAC is only a break/fix organization. They're not intended to assist with solutions design; that's what Cisco partners are for.
There are two - three if you add SSO - separate issues at hand here:
Cisco UC Manager is only capable of handling a single DNS namespace. In Microsoft AD this means a single forest. If you want to connect to multiple forests you must use a Microsoft Lightweight Directory (aka ADAM in 2003 parlance). Cisco wants nothing to do with the configuration of LDS, only what it presents to CUCM. You'll want a Microsoft-oriented engineer to assist with this and I suggest doing this in a lab environment first.
Cisco Jabber/IM&P is only capable of having a single presence domain. It's either bbb.com or ddd.com, not both. The presence domain defines a user's XMPP/SIP URI. This becomes esspecially important should you want to federate with the outside world. This is entirely separate from the multi-forest problem you appear to have with CUCM.
The real question is why are you creating a new domain instead of just renaming the existing forest?

How do I use Sun Web Server 7.0u1 reverse proxy to change public URLs?

Some of our installations use the Sun Web Server 7.0 (update 1, usually)
for hosting some of the public resource and reverse-proxying other parts
of the URI namespace from other backend servers (content, application
and other types of servers).
So far every type of backend server served a unique part of the namespace
and there was no collision of names, and the backend resources were
published in a one-to-one manner. That is, a backend resource like, say,
http://appserver:8080/content/page.html would be published in the internet
as http://www.publicsite.com/content/page.html
I was recently asked to research whether we can rename some parts of
the public URI namespace, to publish some or all resources as, say,
http://www.publicsite.com/data/page.html while using the same backend
resources.
Another quest, possibly related in solution, was to make a tidy url for the
first page the user opens of the site. That is, in the current solution when
a visitor types the url "www.publicsite.com" in his or her browser, our web
server returns an HTTP-302 redirect to the actual first page URL, so the
browser sends a second request (and changes the URL in its location bar).
One customer said that it is not "tidy". They don't want the URL to change
right upon first rendering the page. They want the root page to be rendered
instantly i the first HTTP request.
So far I found that I can't solve these problems. I believe these problems
share a solution because it relies on ability to control the actual URI strings
requested by Sun Web Server from backend servers.
Some details follow, now:
It seems that the reverse proxy (Service fn="service-passthrough") takes
only the $uri value which was originally requested by the browser. I didn't
yet manage to override this value while processing a request, not even if
I "restart" a request. Turning the error log up to "finest" I see that even
when making the "service-passthrough" operation, the Sun Web Server
still remembers that the request was for "/test" (in my test case below);
it does indeed ask the backend server for an URI "/test" and that fails.

and you could do https-<hostname>/bin/reconfig (dynamic reconfiguration) to check out if this is what you wanted. also, you might want to move config/server.xml <log-level> to finest and do your configuration . this way, you would get enough information on what is going on within your server logs.
finally,when you are satisfied, you might have to run the following command to make your manual change into admin config repository.

now, you are in the totally wrong direction. web server 7 includes a highly integrated reverse proxy solution compared to 6.1. unlike 6.1, you don´t have to download a separate plugin . however, you will need to manually migrate your 6.1 based reverse proxy settings into 7.0. please check out this blog link on how to set up a reverse proxy

if you don´t plan on using ws7 integrated web container (ability to process jsp/servlet), then you could disable java support as well. this should reduce your server memory footprint

I have dloaded and reloaded firefox 7 b4 i had firefox 5 now after system restore and proxy setting changes an d default settings fire fox still will not open what am i doin wrong

ater upgrading to firefox 7 from version 5 i cant open this web browser it worked b4 but after upgrade it will not open. i did system restore to go back to a time when it did work and i still have this problem.the message says website is too busy or proxy settings r wrong but i changed them every way possible.i uninstalled the program and reinstalled it with no success. even google chrome will give me same message is my pc infected? or is there a way to get firefox to be my primary web browser?my operating system is win7 vista i am currently backing up my files to a portable drive and my intension is to save files and reboot entire system and then d-load firefox again will this solve this issue?

Proxy setting changes automatically

I have multiple wifi connection and some have proxy, some don't have.
I am using Lenovo access connection software for switching between these proxies and in firefox proxy set as use system proxy settings. still some times it automatically switches to manual proxy settings and takes value of one of the proxy settings.
pl suggest me a way to avoid such automatically change of proxy settings in firefox.

If you change the Network settings to Auto-detect proxy, does the manual proxy still get used when it is not supposed to?

Personal Domain changed but iWeb still remains with the old one

Hi,
recently I changed my Personal Domain on MobileMe. Unfortunately iWeb still remains with the old one: Even if I create a new iWeb-Domain the problem occurs. I also checked whether this is a local iMac problem or not but it isn´t unless I have the same issue with my MacBook Air using the same MobileMe Account. Every time I open iWeb the 'Settings Page' shows the old personal domain name (displayed in brackets behind the MobilMe Account information). At MobilMe the new Personal Domain name displayed as the active one.
Any Ideas?
