Curious about this From clause in Oracle XE
SQL view of query Builder gives the following:
select "EMPLOYEES"."EMPLOYEE_ID" as "EMPLOYEE_ID",

"EMPLOYEES"."LAST_NAME" as "LAST_NAME"

Why does the from clause showing "EMPLOYEES" "EMPLOYEES"?
In the SQL Commands of the SQL the folowing query
select "EMPLOYEES"."EMPLOYEE_ID" as "EMPLOYEE_ID",
"EMPLOYEES"."FIRST_NAME" as "FIRST_NAME",
"EMPLOYEES"."LAST_NAME" as "LAST_NAME"
from "EMPLOYEES
gives the same result and so does
select "EMPLOYEES"."EMPLOYEE_ID" as "EMPLOYEE_ID",
"EMPLOYEES"."FIRST_NAME" as "FIRST_NAME",
"EMPLOYEES"."LAST_NAME" as "LAST_NAME"
from "EMPLOYEES" "EMPLOYEES"
What is the significence of the second "Employees" in the FROM clause.
Other interesting feature is the double quotes
although the one above works as well.
Why is this?Habit.
Some developers come from environments that support mixed case identifiers (table and column names). These developers sometimes go out of their way to force Oracle to use mixed case identifiers, and that requires double quotes.
So Oracle seems to have gotten into the habit of surrounding all identifiers (coming from generated code) with double quotes to keep these developers (who usually have other porting issues anyway) from having to trace those identifier issues.

It may sound a bit weird but Im just curious about it and want to see if any body can hear what I can hear when knock on the left hand side of the home button with your finger tip, might hear some little noise. It sounds like a little ball is in the iphone. Also when u knock on the area around camera lens has that sound as well. Does any body can hear it as well? or is it just me realising this?
My friend is using same model iphone4s and she has exact same sound on both areas..

I have a belkin n surf as well and i have got this and other problems. my iphone 3g and 4 often keep on loosing connectivity. especially if the bluetooth is one (either connected or not). it often fails to find my wifi network after waking up from sleep.
the problem i think is most certainly with belkin n. its one of the worst routers out there. unfortunately i didn't read the reviews before buying it. i have other problems with it to like connecting it to a dc++ hub. the setting up for port forwarding is a pain and it tends to connect to the internet on its own even though there are no settings to disable automatic connection.
i was later told by many people online and also read it in the reviews that its one of the very bad router out there along with other belkin routers. belkin has even arranged a replacement for me as its under warranty but i'm avoidng travelling to the other end of the city cause i know all models have the same problem. the worst of them all is a mere 3mbps transfer speed form one computer to another over wifi file sharing even if they both are connected via 802.11n and are placed withing full signal coverage range, with no firewall or security on either on the machines or router. tried it over several macbooks and windows pcs.
i'm getting lynksys for good. -

The SELECT statement below does not return the appropriate result; it used to work on Oracle 8, but it does not on 10g (10.2).

Just curious about this trojan
ive been reading some things that the mac is able to get a trojan virus...i dont belive it...is it possible?
There are many forms of ‘Malware’ that can affect a computer system, of which ‘a virus’ is but one type, ‘trojans’ another. There is nothing appearing when I search for plugins with DJVU as topic. How can this be? I see that there are separate programs such as Caminova that come with plugins, but I do not want to install a program, only a plugin.
okay, but i cannot install exe files because i am not admin. So I have to rely on whatever my admin gives me. It seems like a reader as a plugin should be available without doing a software install. IMHO

Migrate HFM (9.3) from Sqlserver to Oracle
Hello.
We are using Sqlserver for HFM for historical reason, but now we would like to change
our database to Oracle for improve performance and for licenses reason.
We want to organize migration and some tests.
I checked OTN and Metalink and I didn't find anything related to HFM.
I have found a lot of documentation about migration from Sqlserver to Oracle,
but I would like to find and read something specific related to HFM repository.
Maybe Oracle suggests to do some premigration task
or some postmigration task.
How can I find this kind of documentation?
There is anyone that have already done this kind of job?
Some suggestion?

Edited by: Spugna on May 20, 2011 8:34 AMYou can use the HFMCopyApp utility, which ships with HFM, under the \Server folder on each HFM app server. There are other threads in this forum on how to use this utility. It will allow you to copy from one RDBMS to another.
Each product however, is different in terms of migrating between RDBMS. FDM, for example, requires a rebuild. So you will have to check into each component. As for performance being better under Oracle vs. SQL Server, that's a matter of tuning and opinion. I would make sure performance will in fact be better before I undertook this project. License costs should be much more clear, of course.

Getting from clause query to work right?
Hello, me again :) waves
I am at a point now in my application where I need to base a block on a join. I have played around with Forms and used some very simple queries.
As an example, consider these this SQL:
select users.user_name, users_info.email from users, users_info where users_info.users_id = users.users_id
this should return a username and an email address.
Now, when I add this to a block, set the block's type to "from clause query" and create a canvas/frame/textboxes for the output it doesn't work. I try to "enter query"/"execute query". I get an FRM-40505 error (unable to perform query). I have defined all the columns in the blocks "query data source columns" property.
I have searched through all the Developer books we have here as well as this forum. I would like to not have to create a view in the database for every little screen I need to make :(
Ideas?The Database Item names in the block should match with the column names in the query. I think we don't have to set query data source columns property. So try creating a new block without this query data source columns property and with this from clause query and see if it works or not ?

I just got my replacement phone from Warranty. The phone was on for just 2 hours and it crashed. I was told that motorola knows about this "possible" issue. I got a new sim, hard reset, If it can be done I did it. They are now sending me the same phone again. Number 3. I would hope this one doesn't crash but I rather have a different phone so I can enjoy using my account. The phone's most recent error was today. " Unfortunately, the process com.motorola.widget.circlewidget3d" has stopped. At least the error message works and it's polite. I told tech this and they could not answer my question or help me other then "let's do a hard reset" My warranty replacement is coming on Monday. Let's hope this one works. Anyone else havinbg the same problem. it says "such and such as stop working" on all sorts of stuff! Help! I want my iPhone Back!
I just did a google search on this issue. OMG, I got a ton of videos on this or similar issues. Each one says in some way to clear the cache, reset the data, etc. Why in the world would this continue to happen and they not do a fix that resloves this without having to lose or stop what your doing. This is a very long and constant issue it seems with Android phones as there must have been pages and pages of what I now call "Unfortunately" So I am going to pray that Verizon helps me out and gets me away from this issue and helps me go back to iPhone or try the Samsung.

try going into settings, safari and clear history. You may also want to clear cookies (means you will need to sign back into sites)
It's possible that that page is a popup ad of some sort that can't run, for example a flash based ad. You may have picked the cookie up browsing the internet and now that it's in there the only way to get rid of it is to clear your history and cookies. -
What do I do? I have already downloaded OS Yosemite (it says so on my Apple>About this mac>overview) but now I keep getting a message from "install Yosemite" that keeps asking me to install Yosemite again and won't go away.
I have the same issue. My computer has also slowed down. I hope this isn't a malware. I haven't input my password into it, and dont know what I did to turn this on.

Hi, I've just purchased and installed an upgrade from Lightroom 4 to 5. It doesn't seem to handle raw files authored with a new Nikon D750 camera. I spoke to the sales rep about this and he gave me a link to the 8.6 DNG converter page with instructions to download. 8.6 only works with Mac OS 10.7-10.9, according to the page. I'm running Yosemite, Mac 10.10. Please can you tell me my options? Lightroom 4 worked beautifully with my older cameras' raw files so I would like to continue using the application. What should I do? How soon will Lightroom 5 be able to deal with raw files from a D750. Many thanks, Adam.
Until the next version of Lightroom is released, you need to use the DNG Converter version 8.7RC to convert your RAW photos to DNG and then import the DNGs into Lightroom.

I have moved from the UK to Canada and would like to pay for subscriptions in Canadian dollars rather than sterling pounds. Also I would like to take up Creative Cloud subscription offer because I qualified as a prior purchaser of CS packages.
How do I go about this?I did that - nothing happen... I have changed my adobe ID and all address to my Canada home.
Having log myself out and re-log back in to start the Creative Cloud subscription. The payment still shows in Sterling Pounds.
This is difficult as I am no longer earning Sterling pounds as a wage and the subscription would automatically be doubled payment, because Canadian $ is less in currency exchange to the UK Sterling Pound.
Thanks for your above suggestions, but what should I do now, to resolved this issue.
