Curious behavior of the index page

I use iWeb to maintain a site composed of an index page and many other pages. Whenever I make a change to any of the other pages and republish, I have to go back and republish the index page by itself, otherwise it will not load on any browser. This no big deal, as long as this continues to work, but I worry that something worst may happen, like never reload.!
Has someone run into this small issue and perhaps has a suggestion to resolve it? Thanks.

I also did this for my webhosting provider, not knowing I could keep it to Welcome. I should've thought of coming here, but I was assuming my errors were because it was Index, not index, so I went in with a text editor and changed all instances of Index with find and replace (names of the programs were changed to reflect it as well). Then I came here, so I edited the Index to Welcome in the iWeb interface, then saved it to the same folder after changing the old folder names to Welcome for an overwrite. It put the new stuff in a new folder of the same name in the website folder. Im using classicFTP. I hadn't checked to see that the folder had been placed inside the old folder, and saw it after I started uploading, when it was too late. So, I uploaded again, this time the inner folder only. My website hasn't changed. Sorry, I know just enough about script to be dangerous to my programs. Can anyone give me a gentle nudge or something in the right direction? I also tried using the question mark but it just gave me a page not found error.

  • Gallery with Paypal buttons and drop-downs on the index page?

I'm looking for a LR gallery where I can have thumbnails with Paypal buttons and drop-downs on the index page.
I would prefer to keep my galleries interface streamlined and don't want to clutter it up with dropdowns and cart. I would like to have 1 page for ordering that has all my images as thumbnails with drop downs for price and size, rather than right-clicking on and image which opens in another page like the LRG Gallery with Paypal.
I don't have a lot of experience messing with code, and none with .js. I did make a drop down in Paypal and have the code, but I think things would be pretty unwield it I designed a page as a table like I would in MS Word.
I'm familiar with LRG Complete gallery, but don't see that it has the ability to not require a right click to order.

Maybe some could try this out, and has experienced the same problem.
It is on the site http://www.fonetix.biz
and then push the German flag in the top Right corner, and further click on the Button "Contact info". It will give the eroor.

  • The Index page will not show the title with Bookmarking and the Facebook "like" or "share"

When you utilize the Facebook Like button on your Muse created web pages, it carries the title over (from the Page Properties) and works fine, except for the Index. This also applies to bookmarking pages. When the Facebook like is used (and the sub window for Facebook opens) it is titled “Home” that’s it. When the index page is bookmarked it also says “Home”. Why won’t the whole title be used? Is there any way to correct this?

    Hi,
Could you please provide the url of the site and let me take a look to your current settings,

  • How to remove the "Index Page" option from the Router in Network Magic Pro 5.5.9195

I find it ironic and I can click on my router in the Map view of network magic, and the last option is "Index Page".  This immediately loads my router setup in a browser window. It completely bypasses the router login and password.  I do not want anyone to be able to start my PC, open Network Magic, and click this option and have access to my router.  This is stupid.  How do you turn this option off, remove it, or hide it?
Yes, I know, I could put a password on my PC, but I share it, with other family members, and at this time I don't have user accounts setup for them.
I am looking for a solution in Network Magic, not my OS.
    Thanks,
    Brian

Anything you do without submitting to form has to be done on the client side (ususally by JavaScript) using data which has been send already from the server.
With JavaScript you can do quite a bit. You can download tables which don't necessarilly appear on the screen, loading them into JavaScript arrays by dynamically generating javascript. Then you can pick up events like drop-box selection and use these tables to chose what you do next (e.g. preloading other fields, setting drop box content etc.).
Or, you can cause forms to be submitted when actions like a selection happen without the user clicking a button. It's generally a matter of how much data you'd need to transmit.
Another posibility is to use a Java applet, which can generate requests to the server and handle the results as it chooses. That are a number of problems with that but occasionally it's the best solution.
What you can't do is to handle user input inside a JSP. The JSP has come and gone before the user even gets to see your form.

  • How to change the index page of tomcat to a specific page in a  web app.

    hi all
i am trying to figure out a way to change default application to a specific web application deployed in tomcat, so that when you type localhost:8080, it will start with the web app. basically i want to get ride of the context or map the context to the default page. i.e. map this http://localhost:8080/example/ to http://localhost:8080/. thanks.

maybe i didn't explain myself clearly as to what i needed to do.
i have created a web application and deployed into tomcat 5.5 with a context of "example". the path looks something like this: $catalina_home/webapps/example. in order to access the application, i need to type http://localhost:8080/example in the browser. is there any way to change it so that when i type http://localhost:8080, it will take me to my web application without accessing the tomcat index page.
    thanks.

  • How do I customize the index page?

I can't seem to find out how to edit the default index page (ie content, banner, etc.) without it losing the theme or the css file, which i guess is somehow linked to it? The page points to "collaboration/css/serverhome_static.css" which doesn't seem to exist?
Can you guys help me out?
Maybe point me to the right files? or just flat out tell me what to do would be nice :P
    thanks

    Hi,
The web pages produced for the groups are dynamic and under the control of WebServer. You can see the requests and responses in Console -> LOG FILES -> /Library/Logs -> WebServer which accesses the folder /usr/share/.
If you want to change something like the banner on the groups listing page you can:
Change banner.jpg in usr/share/collaboration/css/serverhome/img to the banner image of your choice (ensuring the size (length x height) is appropriate). Be sure to set Permissions on any files added to
Owner: root -rw, Group: wheel -r, Others: -r.
Be aware that /usr/share may be changed during a Apple software update. For user specific changes immune to updates the place to modify is at /Library/Application Support/Apple/WikiServer. That said I made changes to my banner display in /usr/share as described above in 10.5.0 that haven't been disturbed by 10.5.1 - 10.5.5.

    Harry

  • Not opening the index page of WAS(web application server)

    Dear All,
I have installed ABAP Stack and Java Stack. After installing I have tested WAS (Web application server) is working or not by giving http://localhost:50100/ in browser, but getting the error says "page can not be displayed" instead of opening index page.
Kindly share it if you have any idea regarding this.
While installing Java Stack, I got the following error while installing MAXDB (phase 9 which is "Install database server software" of 32).
    ERROR 2007-05-17 17:46:02
MDB-07020 The database installer reported an error. Some database applications are probably still running. Check the log file sdbinst.log.
So, I have uninstalled MAXDB and continued Java Stack installation. Uninstallation of MAXDB could cause this problem or somthing else ..
could u please let me know if anyone has any idea...regd this
    Kishore.

    Hi Kishore,
On your server, please open Management Console MMC (Start -> Programs -> SAP Management Console), and if your system is not shown with the green light, right click it and select Start.
Also, can you please confirm that the instance number of your J2EE engine is 10.
    Best regards,
    Laziz

  • Can you rename the index page?

    Hi,
I'm sorta new to web design.  I was taught that the home page for a website is always called "index.htm".  Can you name it some thing else?  How do you designate it as the "start here" page...
    Thanks,
    Gary

    Yes.
With Linux its done with .htaccess files:
-http://www.javascriptkit.com/howto/htaccess.shtml - How to make file
-http://www.javascriptkit.com/howto/htaccess6.shtml - How to change default index page
With Windows it is done via the GUI interface of IIS.  I'm not 100% certain of the clicks here because I have only sparingly used IIS in my experience, but if you have IIS I am sure someone here will be able to help you.

  • I published my website to an FTP server and it comes up correctly at the index page, but if I navigate to a different page then back to "index" it sends me to my FTP server's home page.

I contacted the techs at my server and they said the "i" in index was not capitalized in the hyperlink but was capitalized in the file.  iWeb makes it's own hyperlink - how do I fix it?
Many thanks to anyone that can help.  The website is www.beeskneesbodyworks.com  if you want to see for yourself.
    Trish

You have named your Home page "Index" which you cannot do.
Change it Home or something else, republish your site and all will be well.

  • Requesting pages from the index page cause the the webserver to hang

Whenever I request pages from the main osx server page(ie my page or wikis) it cause the web server to hang for a minute or so before giving me the page. It also stops the server from sending pages to anyone else.
If I go directly to any of the wikis by typing the address into the navbar I get no problems.
here is the info from the log file.

    OSB 11g
I have to upgrade existing 10g SOA to 11g and below are my questions..

    2) What is he url for xsd docs in 11g. for example: in 1og i can use this url to scan the xsd documents..
    http://<<HOSTNAME>>:<PORT#>/<<XSDDIRECTORY>>/
    3) What is the equivalent in 11g? I see this directory structure in 10g.. $SOA_HOME/Apache/Apache/htdocs..
    4) I am trying this directory structure and got 404 page not found error.. http://<<Host Name>>:<port #>/soa/composer
    Any help is appreciated..
I consider myself as beginer in SOA stack and apologies for any basic questions..
    Thanks

Only thing is you wont be able to browse through URL, not sure though and you can browse through the XSDs and WSDLs through JDeveloper by connecting to MDS.

  • Favicon only in one, the (index)-page?

Isn't it necessary to repeat a link to a favicon in every

Where is the correct place for it cause of this: "you have a

As I understand it, this is not so for all browsers. But then
    I am not so
    favicon literate....

  • Can not get a logo to link to the index page.

Every month I change the monthly sponsors for our tournaments.  I removed last month sponsors and want to replace with this month in DW.  I put my cursor where I want the logo to go and I can not get it to link.  I want to replace the Main St Jewelers and Microtel with The Mill Casino logo.  The website is thesoba.com
    thank you
    Mike

    Hi Mike,
in addition to Murray: Can you see this dark first line title in your website?
    <body class="thrColLiq">&lt;%@LANGUAGE="JAVASCRIPT" CODEPAGE="65001"%&gt;
You should delete these italian letters. As for your question about the links I want to give this hint:
You will get the missing entry in this way:
    <p><a href="http://www.themillcasino.com/"><img src="LOGO's/TheMillCasino.jpg" width="134" height="70" /></a></p>
so as I did here (you have to use the correct image, naturally):
    Hans-G.
As I can see in your source code you use a directory "LOGO's" you better should write "LOGOs", and in the same way you better should delet the blanks in the names of your directories.

  • Indexing page

I understand that Pages cannot index from the discussions on this board. What I am curious about is the Index page in section view. What is this function and how does it work?  Is this done manually? I know I am probably missisng something here, but  would love to know why there is this page, when an index is impossible.
    Thanks for the elucidation!
    C.

    Carole,
It certainly isn't impossible to create an index in Pages; there just aren't tools to automate the process.
The drop down list that you show isn't "just in Pages." The list of pages is contained in the particular document. Each template starts out with one or more pages built in to it and you can add more of your own by "capturing" a page that you have created. If you open a document that started with a different template, you will see a different list.
I haven't been able to find that index page in the standard templates, but I may have overlooked it. At any rate, that example looks pretty simple: a three column layout with two paragraph styles, plus a title at the top. Just collect a list of topics, sort them alphabetically, condense duplicates and add the letter headings.

  • What's the index node and index page in DB2

Could you please explain what the index node and index page in DB2, and what's the relationship between them?

Following paragraph is copied from tadm56.
Tables contain records of data. One or more records of a table are stored in a DB2 data page. Pages are the minimum I/O unit of DB2. A DB2 data page can contain one or more records. But a record must fit in a data page.
If a record of a table does not fit in a 4096 byte (4 KB) page, the table must be defined in a tablespace that is based on a larger page size. DB2 also provides page sizes of 8192 bytes (8 KB), 16384 bytes (16 KB), and 32768 bytes (32 KB).
For improved access to data, indexes are predefined by SAP developers. Indexes can also be defined later as further need arises. An index is defined using a few columns of a table, which are accessed frequently. Index data structures allow for efficient retrieval of small quantities of data. Indexes are based on nodes, their storage is maintained within DB2 index pages. Because the pointers pointing to other index nodes are also stored in the index pages, storage of indexes is not as compact as the storage of data records.
And above this paragraph, there is a figure that shows relationship. I don't know how to paste a picture here. In the figure, it shows that table records vs data page is n:1, and index nodes vs index page is 1:1.
How to understand index nodes vs index page is 1:1?
