Currencies in the Project System

If you have assigned a number of company codes to a controlling area and the company codes have different currencies, you cannot allocate the object currency. The system automatically uses the local currency of the respective company code.
Our customer required to Know what's the reason for this limitation?
How to overcome this limitation ?

you can change your settings in OPSB where u can select object curreny and define exchange rate types also ...

    In project systems can we able to see, against the projects and against WBS what all the sales orders, Employees and material etc... That we assigned, in which STD report we can check all these assignments, from which tables (ABAP) it picks up the data to populate in the STD report.
    I need the Tables for preparing the Z- Report. Please help meu2026

    The most common overviews with respect to sales and distribution can be obtained from CN54N/ CN55N or you can also use CNS54 / CNS55. Tables for the same are VBAK/ VBAP.
    For materials you can refer to CN52N overviews for material components and CO24 for missing parts.
    For resources, CN50N provides the capacity requirements and CMP9 workforce planning.

    Dear Srinivasan,
    Scheduling in PS can very complicated and difficult to understand, if its not studied extensively. A lot of trial and error needs to be done on this subject.
    In PS, the scheduling will take place by means of the normal duration of the activity which you specify and the relationship of the various activities.
    Basically there are two types of scheduling. One is WBS scheduling and another one is Network Scheduling. You have various settings in Customizing wherein you set whether WBS determines dates or Network determines dates.
    If you want that the WBS dates shall fall under the dates of the activities, then you need to choose " Network determines date". On the other hand if you want that the dates of the activities shall fall under the WBS dates , then you can choose setting " WBS determine dates".
    In a simple scenario, you can create a project along with WBS elements and network activites. Give only start date of the project in the project definition.Then Give duration to each of the activities. Additonally give relationship between trhe activities. Now, Scheduling can be done a Network header level as well as Project definition level. Schedule the network at Project definjition level. You will see that the dates of all the the WBS elements and scheduled dates of the activities will be populated. These dates will based on couple of parameters i.e Scheduling scenario & planning method ( which you can find in the Control data of project definition and Scheduling type ( in the network header ).
    A very important note which will be befinicial to study is a consulting note from SAP , note no. 151551 " Scheduling of Network"
    Depending upon the Patch level of your component, you may need to implement note no. 591833 and 945671 to get the correct scheduling data.
    I hope I have given a basic overview of Scheduling in PS.

  • Project System Cash Management in combination with statistical WBS element

    Hi,
    within  a customer project, we have to solve the following issue:
    Customer runs projects and statistical projects in combination with internal orders.
    We want to use the PS Cash Management for planned and actual payments.
    With statistical projects we have the following problem:
    Invoice and actual payments will be processed with the transaction CJFN.
    Actual payments are shown only on the internal order (transaction CJIA), but not on the statistical WBS element.
    We want the information about the actual payments with in the project system reporting (S_ALR_87013574).
    Projects, not flagged as statistical will deliver the expected results.

    are u posting to some other cost object also. normally they wud have to be posted to a COPA also with the cost element being 11 category.
    the wbs will receive the statistical posting, so there needs to be a real object also.
    see whether the real object is getting derived.
    the system is nt finding the real object and trying to post with the WBS in real, but since its statistical, the error.
    any other calrifications. plz post.

  • Project system: Purchase requisition coming from PS

    Dear Experts,
    I have a tricky problem. I want to exclude a specific number range for purchase requisition coming from the Project system.
    The current number range I have for the purchase requisition is let say: 10000000 - 19999999.
    I want to use another number range (50000000-59999999) for the purchase requisitions as an impact of material components of an network activity.
    What I've tried but it is not working properly:
    1. TC: OMH7 - I created a new number range as I mentioned above
    2. TC: OMEB - I've copied the document type NB to a new document type ZNB (NB = ZNB)
    3. TC: OPTT - as last step I've assigned the document type ZNB to the order category 20 (network)
    Please advice ASAP

    It should work as it works fine for me.
    1. You create the Internal number range (50000000-59999999) first and number it with an ID.
    2. Create the ZNB document type and assign the number range number (i.e., two-character ID)
    3. Assign this ZNB in OPTT
    If I've repeated what ever you've done/said, check the settings once again. It should work.

  • Settlement within the Project

    Hi All,
    There is an error during settlement -
    > CJ88 from a long time. My settlement structure is like Network to WBS, Lower WBS to Superior WBS, Level1 WBS to AuC and finally to FXA.
    My availability control is active after CJ30.
    Now when settling within the project system throws error.... Budget exceeded for items and exceeded by the assigned value. Fine I found out OSS Note--->159850 which details the reason why it is behaving so.
    Now after reading this note I am trying out both the possibilities mentioned there...
    1.Deactivate availability control which is not recommended.
    2.In CJ30 only do budgeting for top WBS..
    3.Exempt Settlement Cost element from Availability Control(but we are using Cost Element groups -
    > All Primary and Secondary Cost Elements) Tr--OPTK.which is also a problem
    I need a work around if anybody can help...the simplest way to remove such error during settlement.

    this has nothing to do with the cost element group
    when you settle
    you can either use the original cost element OR you can use settlement cost element (type 21 or type 22) - these are usually one or 2 and not the same as your chart of accounts
    these settlement cost elements should be entered in OPTK
    if you use original cost elements then you have an issue as you cannot use OPTK else the original cost itself would become exempt from budget check

  • Revenue Recognition in Project System

    Hello All,
    At my current client, they are using the Project System (i.e. WBS) only for Cost and Revenue collection. POC,RA,Milestone billing,Network, Activities are out of scope. Keeping the above thing in mind, I need to know how I do the Revenue recognition thru WBS.
    Mu understanding is that If I assign a WBS element on a Sales Order line item, as an account assignment it should collect the Revenue. The only requiremnt should be that WBS should be a billing element and Cost/Revenue profile should carry SD relevant settings. Once the billing is done and invoicing is done, the Revenue should appear against the WBS on running the report S_ALR_87013563/64/65/66.
    Please let me know if this will work or do I need to do some more configuration from PS perspective.

    Hi Sarang,
    1. Mark WBS as billing element.
    2. Assign the sales order line item to the WBS in point 1 or any WBS below that in the hierarchy.
    3. Create a billing plan for the sales order line item.
    4. The billing plan amount would appear as planned revenue against the WBS element (provided no credit hold useVKM3 to release).
    5. Once the line item has been billed ie. Billing document has been created using VF01 or VF04, the Actual revenue would appear against the WBS element.
    In terms of Config:
    Creat a planning profile that allows Automatic Revenue planning form Sales Order (tcode: OPSB)
    Ensure that the planning profile is attached to your project profile (Controlling tab) (tcode:OPSA).

  • Version 999 Project System Plan Data Issue

    I am using transaction CJ9B to copy the Project System related plan data i.e. plan data at the WBS element level from Version 10F, period 1 to 12  in year 2010 to version 999, period 1 to 12 in year 2010. The transaction CJ9B runs successfully in the update mode. But when report CJI4 is executed for version 999, period 1 to 12 in year 2010 then we do not find plan data in sync with version 10F.
    I analysed this issue, had a meeting with end user and blanked out target version 999 using source version 9ZR for the year 2010. Then I again copied version 999 from version 10F. Still plan data in version 999 do not exist as they are in version 10F. I have checked the version 999 master data in transaction OKEV. Integrated Planning for SPL, COPA, cost center accounting and business process is active. COPY Allowed is also enabled. Version 999 is unlocked as well.
    Hence I am not sure why the copy functionality is not working fine for version 999, period 1 to 12 in year 2010.
    Can you please take a look and revert with your opinion so that this issue can be fixed ?

    Hi,
    If you want to copy all the plan date from 10F to 999, then in Txn CJ9B
    select the indicator reset and overwrite in target version and execute in test mode.

    A lot of answers can be derieved from how they are managing it today
    1) whether they want to manage every single land that they buy and sell
    or they just want to know how the company on the whole is doing
    2) whether they buy stock in bulk to supply to subcontractors or they just buy it project by project or land by land for development
    3) Are dates important whether there are financial implications if there is delay in terms of development , do they stand to loose and how they want to integrate schedule to cost and progress , how they want their profits to be realised will lead to the answer you need
    4)Company asset and production resource tools will have to be looked at.

  • Project Systems - Substitutions no longer valid? (4.6C)

    Hi all,
    I have created a substitution in the Project System Application area using GGB1 - It is a "user-exit" only type and I copied the RGGBS000 subroutine pool as suggested and all worked out fine as per the online help and RS's suggestions. But it still just does not work...
    So I looked around at "activating"a substitution and found transaction GGB4 - in this transaction if I select Project Systems and Substitutions SAP pops up an error saying that Substitutions are not supported in this application area (Project Systems)...
    But I am pretty sure from SAP Notes like 42615 and 88237 that it was possible in the past (both these notes are for <=4.0?)
    Anyone have any other ideas as to why my substitution is not working?
    (I am wanting to substitute a specific person into the "Responsible Person" field, as well as some others)

  • Project systems integration with portal (EP)

    Dear all,
    I have to integrate the projects systems module with Portal.(EP)
    In portal transactional I views can be used to create projects which can be store in the R/3.
    Now the issue is to create projects with out using Transactional I views. This should be a simple entry through portal, where in the user keys in the key fields and there by the project is created and scheduled.
    For this I have tried with using business packages given by SAP to integrate with portal.
    Now the issue is I can display the projects that are created in R/3 through portal and display the necessary fileds required for viewing (I views). Now the main problem is to create the project using these business packages so that the same get updated in the R/3.
    But business packages do not have the option of creating the project. I am using the business packages for projects 50.3.1
    Has any body come across this type of issue which has to be integrated with portal and subsequent creation of projects through portal
    If any body has done this in any other way please kindly share on this.
    Experts please throw some pointers on this.
