Currency conversion doesn't work in Hyperion Planning 9.3.1

Hello,
We loaded exchange rates in Planning and when we launched a refresh of the database, exchanges rates are not transferred to essbase, as it is supposed to do according to the admin guide.
Do we need to do something special to have the exchange rates loaded in Essbase?

Thanks for your quick response.
We control the fact that the exchange rates were not balanded in Essbase with two methods:
1. we performed a reset of the database & refresh the database after.
Normally exchange rates must be transferred to essbase from the table, but essbase database remains empty after the refresh (no blocks, no data files...)
2. We check the point of view in Essbase on which the exchange rates are supposed to be loaded (we get this POV by reading the script that copy the exchange rates).
So this refresh of the exchanges rates doesn't seem to work.

Source system conversion doesn't work after transport

Just transported a query to BW Production and found that the source system is still the same as in DEV.
The conversion is there (QAS-->PRD). But the conversion doesn't seem working in the transport.
Can anyone tell me how to troubleshoot this issue?

Please check the following:----
1. RSA1->Source Systems --> Select the source system -->Check. It should take you to the correct source system with a Remote logon.
2. Check the logical system mappings in RSLOGSYSMAP table.

Leading zeroes - switching off ALHPA conversion doesn't work

Hi all.
I have an IObj ZPARENT with compounding attribute ZATTR.
While loading data into ZPARENT I got errors regarding duplicate records. Errors occur because I got leading zeroes in ZATTR and records like "1", "01", "001" become "0001" .
I thought it is because of ALHPA conv. in ZATTR, so I deleted ZATTR master data, removed ALPHA conv. from ZATTR and tried to reload data. I got same duplicate key error and leading zeroes.
I also examined my transformation. It doesn't have any ALPHA conversions. I do post data into ZATTR through simple routine:
     data: CATTR type c length 35.
     CATTR = SOURCE_FIELDS-REF_INF.
     REPLACE ALL OCCURRENCES OF '#' IN CATTR WITH ':'.
     RESULT = CATTR.
The data in PSA looks fine - it doesn't have any leading zeroes in PSA, but than it comes to IObj. I got them.
What I supposed to do to avoid leading zeroes in ZATTR??

I purchased two days ago the conversion utility from pdf to Word. I can't use it and need a refund. My files consist of very unusual font symbols and the conversion doesn't work correctly.

I NEED A REFUND for the conversion utility that purchased two days ago.l It is because my files consist almost completely of unusual font symbols that I cannot get into the right place on my current computer. I will have to do the conversion manually. It is not Adobe's fault. How do I obtain a refund?

Photo share in group conversations doesn't work.

I can view uploaded images just fine, and share my own to single contacts. However, when I try to upload using the + in a group conversation, all I see under chat options is Add Participants.

This is still an issue with the current Android skype. It's just the android version that is missing photo share.

Cross-mailbox conversation expansion doesn't work

In Mail for Mountain Lion, when a conversation has messages in different mailboxes, the gray box to expand/collapse the conversation doesn't work. The number of messages shown only reflects the ones in the Inbox (or active mailbox, probably; I've only tested Inbox). Is this intentional or a bug? If intentional, is there any way to configure the behavior differently, so expand/collapse works?

A little more color on this: If there are 2 or more messages in the active mailbox (and others in a different mailbox), the expand/collapse function works for the messages in the active mailbox. In the message column on the right, all the messages in the conversation are shown (both mailboxes). Only those messages in the active box are shown in the list column when the conversation is expanded. I can kind of see how this might be intentional, but it's strange to see lots of messages in the conversation in the right column, but only one or a few corresponding items in the messge list.

Currency conversion variable

I have a question regarding currency conversion variable.
We have USD and CAD currencies in BW. I created a currency conversion variable in the properties of a key figure using average rate for current date (0MEANTODAY) and that variable was working fine for a long time. Now I noticed that variable got corrupted in BWD but still works in BWQ and BWP systems. I can see in BWD that variable has nothing in a Variable Represent box and Ready for Input checkbox is not checked. It doesnt let me to fix or repair this variable. I cannot run any existing queries in BWD that use this variable. The error message is Variable 0MEANTODAY is not permitted for the target currency
I created another currency conversion variable that works in BWD. I know it is ok to have multiple variables for a dimension, lets say Cal Year/Month has a number of variables. I am not sure whether it is allowed to have multiple currency conversion variables and use different currency conversion variables in different queries. We have about 40 queries that use old currency conversion variable in BWP. If Ill move new query with a new currency conversion variable to BWP, will it cause any problems for the existing reports that use an old variable? I want to know whether it will present a problem running 40 reports that are already in prod besides the fact it will be inconsistent for a while until Ill switch all reports to use a new variable.
I dont know why that variable got corrupted. A few weeks ago basis applied some patches in BWP and copied it to BWQ and BWD systems but I am not sure that caused a problem.
I am relatively new to BW and will very much appreciate any help. I havent done transport to production for more that a week and cannot wait any more.

I was dealing with this problem for more than a week. Finally I got help from SAP today. As it was explained to me, we were using very old version of BW front end (part of SAP GUI) which became incompatible with the new patches we applied in BWP and copied to BWQ and BWD. Basically, I was told to upgrade BW front end that caused problems especially in the Variable Wizard area.
I repaired the currency conversion variable and move it to production. So far all reports run ok in production.
If anybody will have problems with currency conversion variables, please check your front end version.

Currency Conversions showing different behaviour

I have a strange problem with the currency conversions. I have configured business rules for one application for currency conversions and everything works fine.
For another application, I have written a script logic. This works well for all AST and EXP Account types.
For INC account types :
1. When the logic is included in the default logic, it works fine.
2. When the logic is not included in the default logic, and the currency conversion Data manager package is executed or the logic is executed through UJKT, the calculations are done perfectly but the amounts are negated.
Did anyone see this kind of strange behaviour. I have the currency conversions code as follows:

Hi,Iam new to Hyperon Planning Implementation. My Company is going for implementation. We already have Essbase cubes. I wanted to know how exactly Hyperion Planning is related to hyperion Essbase. Is there any Documentation I can get & probably architecture. Typically for a medium sized company how many months will it take for a Hyperion Planning Implemenatation and also Data Loading ...how is this done,, currently we are loading data in Essbase cubes using flat files... what are the main things that We need to focus on implemenatation. How does Planning Relate to Essbase!Planning is a tool for creating and amending Applications and Databases within Essbase. It also provides a method of accessing the data via webbrowsers and controls the edit and view access to Planning Units (Budget, Version, Year combinations as a simplistic view). The full detail can be seen on their website if you look for the Demos (www.hyperion.com).Planning uses a RDBMS to store structures, security information and other data about the Essbase application which is then used to create or amend the Essbase Application / Database. All measures are held in Essbase.You can create dataloads and outline loads (as you can in Essbase) by using Hyperion Application Link (HAL). Amending the Essbase Application directly will not feed back into Hyperion Planning but HAL looks easy enough.I think the question "how long to implement" is a bit like how long is a piece of string! I am currently working on Hyperion Planning 11.1.2.1.
I am interested to know about dimension building in planning.
1. What dimension building techniques available for Hyperion Planning 11 other than DRM, FDM and manual techniques?
2. I have read in a blog that Outline load Utility doesnot work with Hyperion 11x for dimesion building and "Hyperion Dimesion Library " is available in its place. Is it true ?
But we are using Outline load utility for loading exchange rates in our 11 version application.
3. I have worked on ODI 10g and 11g with Hyperion 9x
Is Hyperion planning 11x compatible in building dimensions using ODI from scratch and also adding members to existing hierarchy as per changing business?

Why won't my powerbook work on a plane?

My powerbook doesn't work on a plane. I can use it in the terminal but on the
plane its just dead. It won't work again until I plug it in to a power source. I've boarded with a full battery, got off with a full battery.
I've tried removing the battery and restarting.
Does anyone have any sensible ideas?
Could it be the X-ray machines at the airport?
The sudden shock of taking off?
Why can everyone use theirs?

Ask the airline or the flight attendent to ask the pilot what altitude the plane is pressurized at. Weird question to ask, but at least it would resolve the riddle of whether or not they are pressurizing at a higher level than the specs allow. If they aren't pressurizing at a higher level than specs allow, and you are at level flight, I would call AppleCare and let them know you are having trouble. It may be there is something wrong with the hardware of your machine.

Currency conversion type by customer exit variable doesn't work

Hi all.
In my query I need amounts by quarter, applying quarters last date rates as currency conversion.
Query has Year parameter. Based on this parameter, by customer exits I calculate every quarters last date and use them as currency conversion types.
The problem is that query DOESN'T APPLY currency conversions!
I checked TCURR table - currency conversions do exist for applied days
I checked my customer exits - the date calculation works fine
I suppose where is something wrong in query processes (customer exits/currency conversions) sequence before running it.
Someone knows anything 'bout that?

Hyperion Planning - Exclude some accounts from currency conversion

Hi,
I am using a multi currency application. I don't want to apply the currency conversion for few accounts although I am specifying the a/c members property exchange rate table to No rate. But still the currency conversion happens for these accounts. Please help.

I got an answer for you, I was able to replicate the issue.
Issue: When its creating Calc in the back ground HspCRtB its using wrong UDA: "NoRate" which should be "No Rate".
Edit the script, save it and execute both the scripts HspCRtB and Currency Conversion and you will be good .
