hello,
Firstly, the data type of the keyfigure which u have used in the selection should be of type Currency.
Also,
Have you created the currency key.create the currency key in RRC1 transaction and check.

  • Get variable in Target currency under currency conversion Tab for Key Figure

    Hi Experts,
In one of the query in BEx Designer, for particular set of key figures I am unable to edit Target Currency under currency conversion.
We created user exit and using a variable in BEx.
When I chose currency conversion parameter in "Currency Conversion", Value in Target currency is empty but I am expecting the variable to get displayed over there.
Please suggest me how to get variable in target currency. or how to edit property of key figure "Target Currency"
    Thanks,
    Saravanan.

    HI,
which parameter you maintained in conversion type that is currency translation type which is maintained at T-code RSCUR and see which info object you maintained at currency tab after defining the currency translation type i.e at Target currency -> Info object  for determining Target currency which  is FROM INFO OBJECT in Target currency .
    Hope this will help you.

  • *Currency Conversion created in BW BEX query not working in BO report:*

    Hi,
We have created a key figure with currency conversion and working fine in BEX when I execute that query.
But when created a BO universe and WEBI report on that query, I am getting following error.
"MDX query failed to execute with Error".
    Can anyone please help.
    Thanks
    Dhana

    Hi
    Thanks. But new problem.
When I pulled OCURRENCY to free area now it is working in BO also.
But now another problem is --> for Currency translation am getting prompt in BO also to select target currency. There , all values (all currency types) are not displayed , only USD is coming. WEBI report is fine for USD conversion.
But when I want to convert into AUD , its not there in LOVs .
Some time back this problem exists in Bex also, but when we changed cube level setting as below:
Infocube : display-> OCURRENCY right click and go to "provider specific properties"..and then
go to "object specific properties "  and then for "Query Exec Filter Val" selected "M Values in Master data table".
Now when executing query in Bex for target currency selection values it is taking from master data and displaying all types like USD, AUD, INR ..etc. in drop down list.
Now created new BO universe and new WEBI report but only USD is coming in selection LOVs not all types.
    Please help us.
    Thanks

  • Currency conversion with variable in selection mask with problems

    Hi Gurus,
I want to implement a currency conversion as follows:
when the query is opened a selection screen should appear and the whole data which is with Euro currency should be possible to translate in USD, GBP, FRF (depends on which currency the user is choosing).
I did a conversion with a variable with default value USD but I am not able to insert multiple currencies like GBP and FRF as default value/ suggestion in variable.
I created a variable on 0Currency with following adjustments:
    - Processing By: Manual Input/Default Value.
    - Reference Characteristic (0CURRENCY) Currency.
    - Variable Represents: Single Value.
    - Ready for input: checked
    - default value: USD.
With adjustment "variable represents" > "single value" it is not possible to insert two or three currencies as default value.
When changing "variable represents" to "multiple single values" or to "selection option" it is possible to insert two or three currencies as default value.
But when the variable is saved with "multiple single values" or "selection option" the variable doesn´t appear in currency translation type in tab currency when selecting target currency with option "target currency from variable".
Any idea why the variable doesn´t appear with adjustments with "multiple single values" or "selection option"?
Or any idea how it is possible to achieve my whished currency conversion?
    Thanks in advance!

That´s correct. I want to have a list of currencies in which it would be possible to translate. That means clicking in selection mask and the list appears.
That was my first thougth ... removing the default value. I removed the default value but only Euro (EUR) appeared in that list for selecting. I thought this has maybe something to do with the data which is available in the cube and that is only in EUR.
I will check the RSCURR and what kind of currencies are available.

  • Currency Conversion variables

    Hi,
I have some reports in BEX and recently we got BO XI 3.1 latest release in our office. So, i started migrating all the reports to BO. Since my user dont want to use the BEX in going forward (not even BEX query). So im wondering abt the currency conversions.
Because in BEX Query the currency conversion variables are been defined, is there any equivalent in BO??? or BO Xi 3.1 can read the currency variables defined in the RSCUR??
    Thanks,
    Siva

    Hi Siva,
I am not sure why no one has replied to this, but it is probably because no one knows the answer (including me!). I am not aware of where currency conversion values are defined in Business Objects, or Web Intelligence. I know there are locales which interpret data into your language, But I don't know very much as to how they work,
Maybe there is someone who reads this who can help? I would like to know also!
    Thanks

  • How to do currency conversion in Business objects

    Hi,
Can any one please let me know how to do currency conversion,  As I am getting different types of currencies.  So I want to do currency conversion.
    Regards
    Sankar Reddy

    Hi Sankar,
you could easily setup a variable for the actual currency and the actual currency conversion routine in the BI query and the BusinessObjects tools would then leverage the BI variables

  • Query visible in RSZELTDIR not in Query designer

    Hi experts ,
I do a transport for Query from dev to  qas, the name of query is visible in Table of query : RSZELTDIR in my BW Qas, but when I open my Query designer in BW Qas I donu2019t see my query.
    In suggestion please.
    Tanks & best regards
    ILYAEBI

    Hi ILYAEBI,
I dont think you have problem with the transports, if the query is visible in RSZELTDIR means, query is imported successfully.
    Pl. check the below:
If u have any folders, under which query is assigned to it means and folder is not imported to QA system query will not be visible in query designer.
Further chjeck up:Go to query designer and search the query with the SERCH tab availbe in the query designer. i think u should be able to get the query.
let me know if any details required...hope this helps you!

  • Currency Conversion - update rules for average rate

I am working in BI 7.0
I have a currency conversion I have defined with RSCUR with the exchange rate type 'M' defined in SPRO -> General Settings -> Currencies -> Exchange Rate Types.  The currency conversion takes place in my update rules.  I've set my 'Time Reference' to 'End of Period'.
I want the conversion to be an average of all rates for the fiscal period.  If I check my table using 'OB08', I find my conversion is only using the rate for the last day of the Fiscal Period.  It is not averaging all the rates.
My question is this.  Can I actually average all the rates for the fiscal period using RSCUR?  Do I need to have the people on the R/3 side have the rates be averages?  Meaning, the rates they update are not currency rates for that specific day but a running average for the month?
What are the best practices for average rates for currency translations for update rules based on a Fiscal Period?
Edited by: Michael Pepper on Mar 3, 2008 8:37 AM

    Hi MIchel,
If you  want the conversion to be an average of all rates for the fiscal period.
    Check under the cloumn ExRt
you may find some row as description as "Average exchange rate"
Create  Currency Conversion type with that exrt type.
use this Currency Conversion type in u'r query for u'r keyfigure.
hope this will be helpfull...........for this you can contact Fi people.

  • Currency conversion issue in SPM. We are getting incorrect results with SPM conversion function from one of the document currency to USD.

Currently we are using SPM 2.0 version and we have been facing currency conversion issues.
Please help me in following aspects.
    1) Where actually currency conversion happens in SPM. Is it the global program which does the conversion or other way.
    2) We have conversion issue for one of the currency where conversion function is giving incorrect results when converting from one of the document currency to USD. here The respective document currency is considering the 1:1 ratio with Dollar which is actually incorrect.
    3) We have verified in both BI side(currency tables) and even ECC side.
Please help me in understanding this issue and let me know if you need more information on this.
Its an production issue and appreciated your immediate inputs.
    Thanks
    Kiran

    Hi Arun,
The following information may be helpful to you.The SSA_HELPER_PROGRAM has options regarding currency settings.
EXCH_RATE_TYPE: This flag governs the exchange rate type which will be used for currency conversion in data management. For example if RSXAADMIN contains an entry EXCH_RATE_TYPE = „ZSPM‟ then the conversion type used for currency conversion is ZSPM. The default value for the exchange rate type is „M‟. More details can be found in the note 1278988.
CURRENCYCONVERSION: By default data management converts all the measures in transaction currency to reporting currency and copies over to the corresponding measure in reporting currency. If the measure in reporting currency is already available in source it might be desirable to disable the currency conversion. To disable the conversion you can make an entry CURRENCYCONVERSION = „ „ in the table RSXAADMIN. This can also be achieved by running the program SSA_HELPER_PROGRAM with the option DEACTIVATE_CURRENCYCONVERSION. The conversion can be reactivated by running the same program with option ACTIVATE_CURRENCYCONVERSION.
UNITCONVERSION: Similar to above. To deactivate unit conversion you can use the program with option and DEACTIVATE_UNITCONVERSION and to reactivate ACTIVATE_UNITCONVERSION. By default both the conversions are switched on
EXTERNAL_CURRENCIES: Normally most of the international currencies are stored with two decimal places however certain currencies do have 0 and 1 decimal place too. For example JPY has 0 decimal places. SAP internal format stores even these currencies with 2 decimal places and at the time of display it changes the value to right decimal places. In case a file from external source is loaded to SPM it might have the format with 0 decimal places in the file. To convert it to SAP standard format post processing needs to be done on this value. If that is the case you can set the flat EXTERNAL_CURRENCIES = „X‟ in the table which will enable the post processing for these values. This flag can also be set and reset using the helper program using the option TURNON_EXT_CURRENCY_FORMAT and TURNOFF_EXT_CURRENCY_FORMAT.

  • Currency Conversion problem in query designer

    Hi,
A requirement has come that infoobject which contain multiple currency type, need to convert into a single currency type in Bex reporting as user want to see only one currency value in report.
There are three keyfigures refering different calenders for conversion. For examle . GR amount is based on GR date, IR amount is based on IR date and PO amount is based on Doc date. Query is build based on a infoset.
I am doing following steps to achieve the task::
    1. In TCODE - RSCUR, created three Currency Conversion Type each for GR, IR and PO and each one refering different 0calday calender
    2. Defined exchange Rate Type as "M"
    3. Currency Tab -> Source Currency = "Source Currency from data Record"
Target Currency -> Fixed Target Currency = "USD"
    4. Time Ref. Tab -> Fixed Time ref. = "Current Date"
Variable time reference = "To the exact day"
        Special InfoObject = <InfoObject name>
    5. In query designer, Key figure property for GR amount -> Conversion -> Conversion type = <Name of Currency Conversion Type which defined in RSCUR>
    6. Repeated the same for IR Amount and PO Amount key figure
    While saving, getting following error::
*Cannot apply Currency translation type <Currency type name> in Infocube <Infoset name>. *
    Diagnosis
You tried to translate a query element with the currency translation type <Currency type name>. The translation type <Currency type name>, however, has variable time reference or variable target currency relevant to characteristic Document Date. Characteristic Document Date is also not available in InfoProvider <Infoset name> and it references either none or more than one characteristic () of the InfoProvider for Document Date, or Document Date is not a base characteristic.
    System Response
    Procedure
Adjust the query definition or create a special currency translation type for one of the characteristics .
    Please help!
Please note that there are three key figures which need conversion using different calenders.
    Sanjiv

    Hello,
I have done the same what you said, but same error still showing....
I also tried to change from "Special InfoObject" to Infoset level and it works with one KF. Since all three KF are under one Infoset and there is limitation that if Currency Conversion Type is defined on Infoset level then only one KF will be assigned for a Infoset where as I am using three KFs with three relevant time characteristic.
    Any suggesion from others?

  • Currency conversion in the query designer level

    Hi
Iam calculating the 'Financial Loss' in the Formula in the query designer. And it comes in SAR(Saudi Riyals).
But i want the 'Financial Loss' in USD in the Query Designer. Because i want the USD Financial Loss to be use in some other calculation.
Please let me know how can we do this one in the query designer. I really appreciate for it .
    Regards
    Kumar

    Dear Ravi,
Basically there are 2 ways to do it: routine & query level.
If query level, you need to maintain it first using tcode RRC1, then you use it in your KF in your query. .
    Routine level,
You can create new KF in info-provider, then in the update rules routine, you can use this function to convert the currency :
    CONVERT_TO_LOCAL_CURRENCY
Hopefully it can help you a lot.
    Regards,
    Niel
thanks for any points you choose to assign.

  • Sorting Currency conversion Variables in Query Selection screen

    Hi Experts,
I have an issue in sorting variables.
A Currency translation is used here which has two selection options here, one for "Currency" and one for "Currency conversion date". They just pop in somewhere in the selection screen with out order. I want to put them together either in the middle or at the bottom.
They are not visible in the Variable sequence tab of query properties.
I changed the text for each of them (Ex. "XCurrency"), so that it sorts alphabetically, but no difference.
Had anybody come accross this issue before.
    regards
    G Rai

    Hi,
This seems strange that the variable does not show in the query properties. One thing I can suggest it to try changing the technical name/desciption of the variable if that changes the order.
Please update back the thread if that helps.

  • Currency conversion with query selection mask and InfoObject 0Curtype

    Hi,
    question to following scenario:
in the data source is an column with the currency type. This currency type column contains values like
    10 = company code currency
    20 = account area currency
So for each data set in the table is an assignment of currency types.
In the cube is an InfoObject called 0Curtype (for currency types 10,20,30 ...).
In the BEx Query should a filter or selection be possible before the whole data is displayed.
The user can select in which currency he wants to display the data. When he selects the 10 the whole data is displayed in different currencies which are available because its local currency (Euro, Dollar etc.). By selecting 20 the whole data is displayed in Euro.
Does anybody knows how to achieve that? Is there any function module availabe which is provided by SAP and it is available for use?
    Thank you in advance!!!

    Hi There:
    You have two options available.
One you can define currency conversion variable in transaction RSCUR. Then use this currency conversion variable at query run time using a formula Key figure and go to Conversions tab and select this variable. Then at query run time the query will convert your key figure from source currency type to target currency type. But this can significantly impact your query run time because the query will calculate this at query run time.
The second option is to use a standard SAP function module CONVERT_TO_LOCAL_CURR in the back end and store this key figure in the back end during data load. This way the query will run faster for you. The difference is significant in my case.
    Good luck.
Let me know if you need more information.
