Currency Rate Update in Calculator

The Update Currency Rates button in Calculator removes all but the following currencies: Euro, Japanese Yen, Pound Sterling, Slovenian Tolar and U.S. Dollar. Is there an easy way to get full current rates without editing
~Library/Application Support/Calculator/FinancialRates.plist
by hand?

Apparently the server Calculator uses goes bonkers with some regularity. I was trying to update recently and getting nothing at all. Earlier this month I saw this thread:
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=4008796&#4008796
So I followed Gulliver's advice that day and all the currencies updated normally. Haven't tried since. You might just keep checking it and see if it finally works correctly. Although the fact that trying removed other currencies sounds sort of ominous....

  • Currency updater in Calculator won't update ?

    My calculator won't update since 9/5-2010.
    Anybody know how to fix it and why it doesn't work anymore.
    Thanks.

    Apparently, Apple fixed the issue. Updated today. $25 = €18.4 ==> $1 = €0.736 which agrees with http://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=currency+rates&ie=UTF-8&oe=U TF-8.

  • Currency Conversion - update rules for average rate

    I am working in BI 7.0
    I have a currency conversion I have defined with RSCUR with the exchange rate type 'M' defined in SPRO -> General Settings -> Currencies -> Exchange Rate Types.  The currency conversion takes place in my update rules.  I've set my 'Time Reference' to 'End of Period'.
    I want the conversion to be an average of all rates for the fiscal period.  If I check my table using 'OB08', I find my conversion is only using the rate for the last day of the Fiscal Period.  It is not averaging all the rates.
    My question is this.  Can I actually average all the rates for the fiscal period using RSCUR?  Do I need to have the people on the R/3 side have the rates be averages?  Meaning, the rates they update are not currency rates for that specific day but a running average for the month?
    What are the best practices for average rates for currency translations for update rules based on a Fiscal Period?
    Edited by: Michael Pepper on Mar 3, 2008 8:37 AM

    Hi MIchel,
                   If you  want the conversion to be an average of all rates for the fiscal period.
    Check under the cloumn ExRt
    you may find some row as description as "Average exchange rate"
    Create  Currency Conversion type with that exrt type.
    use this Currency Conversion type in u'r query for u'r keyfigure.
    hope this will be helpfull...........for this you can contact Fi people.

  • Currency rate on time

    Hi,
    My company works with several currencies. Our financial staff is very concerned about the exchange rate so I proposed to update often those rates, I though calculation would be made with the historical exchange rate although, when I run my report (real time) I get just two values for a currency with several exchange rates on the historical … I wonder then, how does this works and whether is there any relation between the rate for a particular date and the calculation… any idea ?
    Cheers

    Hi Venky,
    Sure I've checked this and at the same time I'm making tests in order to understand the behavior. I have created five 1 Euro opportunities and passing my profile to US dollars so I can see the evolution but calculation is strange, I do not get to understand how does it works ... any suggestion?

  • Currency translation problem for calculated key figure

    Hi All
    I have a problem with the currency translation for a calculated key figure.
    I have a requirement to show the MM consignment stock value in the specified currency from the selection screen.
    For consignment stock, there is no value maintained in the system. So for this we need to calculate the value as below
    Restricted key figure: RKFConsignment stock: Total stock with special stock indicator restriction "K"
    Calculated keyfigure: Consignment stock value = Nodim( RKFConsignment stock) * (Standard cost / price unit).
    Here, in the calculated keyfigure properties --> I have used a currency translation for the 0CALMONTH.
    The query has selection on the 0calmonth.
    But in the result the I am getting unexpected results.
    Do we have any inconsistencies in the currency translation on the formulas?
    Please help me on this.

    And I have changed the currency variable to fixed exchange rate "CHF", it is working fine.

    Could anyone of you please send me the currency translation variable for Calendar month with the below parameters
    exch rate  type :  M
    Time reference : 0CALMONTH
                               End of month
    Target currency for a variable : < var created on 0currency>
    For my report,  i need calendar month selection, currency selection.

  • Daily Currency Rate upload

    Hi
    We are working on 11.5.10.2.
    How can I upload daily currency rate upload to my oracle application from bank or any other system ?
    Will it be loaded in oracle GL and then drill down for use in AP and AR ?
    We are planning to use multi currency payments, I mean raise an invoice in a foreign currency and pay in foreign currency?so what are the prerequisite set up required for achieving this?
    Thanks

    GL_DAILY_RATES_INTERFACE is the interface you use to create, update, and delete daily conversion rates. Customers should use this table to load rates into the GL_DAILY_RATES table.
    To use this table to insert/update rates into GL_DAILY_RATES, insert rows into it with a FROM_CURRENCY, a TO_CURRENCY, a FROM_CONVERSION_DATE, a TO_CONVERSION_DATE, a USER_CONVERSION_TYPE, a CONVERSION_RATE, a MODE of 'I', and, optionally, an INVERSE_CONVERSION_RATE. Oracle General Ledger will automatically create rows in GL_DAILY_RATES for each date between the FROM_CONVERSION_DATE and the TO_CONVERSION_DATE, using the specified FROM_CURRENCY, TO_CURRENCY, USER_CONVERSION_TYPE, and CONVERSION_RATE.
    INSERT INTO GL_DAILY_RATES_INTERFACE

  • Currency rate in purchase order

    Hi,
    I have a case.
    In standard system foreign currency rate in PO is calculated based on purchase order date.
    System takes last actual currency rate to calculation.
    I need to customize it in this way that system will take to calculation currency rate actual for PO date -1 day.
    Anyone know how to make it.

    Dear PG,
    You have to make sure the Price date in item condition control tab have default
    the "Purchase order date".
    Then maintain the currency conversion with transaction OB08.

  • Incorrect currency rate for LC2 Amount

    Experts,
    I am experiencing a scenario where the currency rate for LC2 does not correspond to the one assigned in exchange rate table (TCURR) and would need your advise.
    The following data is maintained in transaction OB22:
    LC= Company code currency
    Local Currency2 = USD (Group currency - type 30)
    Local Currency 3= EUR (Index based currency u2013 type 50)
    Exchange rate type for LC, LC2 and LC3 currencies= M
    Source currency for LC, LC2 and LC3 currencies = 1 "Translation taking transaction currency as basis"
    TrsDte typ for LC, LC2 currency and LC3 = 3 "Translation date"
    There is no reference currency involved. Calculation with inverted currency is allowed
    Exchange rates are maintained for exchange rate type M and valid until 31.01.2011.
    SEK=> GBP
    USD=> GBP
    EUR =>GBP
    Posting date, Document date and Translation date for the posted document are all 28.01.2011.
    For LC and LC3 currency conversion is correct i.e. it picks rate for exchange rate type M from TCURR, but for LC2 (Group currency) system chooses a different exchange rate that I cannot derive
    I can add that the document is a MIRO posting, but the currency in PO/MIRO is equal to the one for Exchange rate type M in TCURR for SEK=> GBP, which is correct. I have also checked the assignment of currency type to material ledger type and it is set to use currency types from FI and to correspond to the currency types from CO.
    Can someone please explain to me how and why SAP has come to calculate an exchange rate for my LC2 amount that differs from what it should be considering settings in OB22 and rates in TCURR?
    All tips are welcome!
    Kind regards,
    Linda

    Srikanth,
    Yes, exactly it is the rate upon 28.01.2011that  should be relevant for the actual document.
    Exchange rate has not entered manually in document header by interface nor by user. Interface only feed document amount and currency i.e. no rates.
    Standard quotation in table TCURN for GBP=>USD is:"1" Direct quotation valid from 01.01.1800
    Standard quotation in table TCURN for "Blank"=>GBP is:"2" Indirect quotation valid from 01.01.1800
    Translation ratio for currency pair GBP => USD for exch rate type M is 1:1, valid from 01.01.1800,  alt ERT=blank.
    Translation ratio for currency pair USD=> GBP for exch rate type M is 1:1, valid from 01.01.1800,  alt ERT=blank.
    Translation ratio for currency pair USD=> GBP for exch rate type M is 1:1, valid from 31.10.2010,  alt ERT=blank.
    Maintained exchange rate valid for the period 31.12.2010 - 30.01.2011 for exchange rate type M is 1 USD= 0.64114 GBP
    Amounts in document are
    Doc. Curr. Amount= 187.44 GBP
    LC2 Amount= 281.16 USD
    Rate used for LC2 Amount in document equals 1 USD = 0.6667 GBP
    Correct LC2 Amount with rate 1 USD= 0.64114 GBP should be 292,35 USD.
    Kind regards,
    Linda

  • Setting Currency-rates with the SDK

    Hi all...
    Does anyone know how to set the currency-rates using the SDK (I have an online currency-rate source and wish via an addon to update all currency rates in SBO from this)

       Optional ByVal Update As Boolean = False _
    <b>Parameters</b>
    Currency - Specifies the target currency
    Date - Specifies the date of the currency rate
    Value - Specifies the rate of the target currency
    Update - Specifies a value indicating whether or not to update the currency, if a value for the required date exists already

  • Currency Rates-OB08

    Hi
    I have a problem with the currency rate maintenance.
    In my scenario, there are 7 company codes and each using different currencies.  I have maintained EUR as a reference currency and maintained the rates of each of these currencies into EUR (total 7 combinations).  When I do the transactions in any of these currencies in any company codes, system is automatically calculating the rates and no issue from FI side.
    However, as per the MM Consultant, while he is setting the release procedure for all the company codes, he requires to do all the combinations of exchange rates for all the currencies i.e. totally 49 are required to be made.  Otherwise, he says system issues error message.
    I do not understand why this is so ?  How the currency rate setting in exchange rates using a reference currency is not sufficient with regard to MM settings are concerned ?  If this is the case, it is so tedious to maintain all the rate combinations.
    Pl. help me to resolve this issue.

    Hi Nikitha,
    OB08 is one time activity for every month.SO this is required to be maintained for every period and every combination otherwise how sytem will calculate the currency conversion

    Hi experts,
    I am creating a report for displaying the open sales order values (and other fields) using current currency rate (where applicable). I developed the below query. • How to transfer currency rates to R/3 after dynamic modelling in BPS

    Hi all,
    I need your advice.
    I have, for example, a several sales plans, which were composed by using BPS. Each of sales plans depends on currency rates. After comparision these plans, I selected and approved one of them. After plan approval I transfer planned data to R/3.
    This is an issue to transfer currency rates, which corresponded to selected plan as well.
    Is there standart method to transfer currency rates for selected plan to R/3 (to "Currency Exchange Rates", tr-n OB08)?
    Your advice will be appreciated!

    Hi Dmitry,
    R/3 is the place basically meant for maintaining currency translation rates. If they have been maintained in BW/BPS directly, I don't think there is any facility to take them back to R/3 other than manually entering.

  • Purchase Orders Summary, Currency Rate Field

    Recently we applied Patch INV.RUP 14, after that users notice that
    Purchase Order summary screen => Purchase Order Headers Block => Rate field, it shows the Foreign Currency Rate,

    Does INV.RUP 14 patch change/amend on the PO behavior?

    Hello,
    RUP is called "Oracle Inventory and Receiving (PO): Release 11.5.10, Rollup Patch 14". You see PO that why this patch can change this or another prerequisite. You can create SR in metalink it seems to be bug. Always after upgrade something is missing:)

  • Oracle Retail Integration - Currency Rate Oracle Object

    Defect 13014568 has been created via Defect Workbench iBug portal request id: (3095217).
    Fix is ready for QA.
    It is planned to be released in RIB 12.0.11.4 bundle, expected by 31st Jan 2012.
    In version 12.0.11:
    The Oracle Object for currency rates CreateCurrencyRateRibObjects has a precision of 10 for the field conversion_rate number:
    DROP TYPE RIB_CurrRateDesc_REC FORCE ;
    CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE RIB_CurrRateDesc_REC UNDER RIB_OBJECT (
    from_currency varchar2(3),
    to_currency varchar2(3),
    conversion_date date,
    conversion_rate number(20,10),
    user_conversion_type varchar2(30),
    OVERRIDING MEMBER PROCEDURE appendNodeValues( i_prefix IN VARCHAR2)
    The XSD for currency rates CurrRateDesc.xsd omits the precision:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <xs:schema
    xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">
    <xs:include schemaLocation="RIBDate.xsd"/>
    <xs:element name="CurrRateDesc">
    <xs:complexType>
    <xs:sequence>
    <xs:element name="from_currency" type="varchar23"/>
    <xs:element name="to_currency" type="varchar23"/>
    <xs:element name="conversion_date" type="RIBDate"/>
    <xs:element name="conversion_rate" type="number20"/>
    <xs:element name="user_conversion_type" type="varchar230"/>
    </xs:sequence>
    </xs:complexType>
    </xs:element>
    Can precision be added to the XSD, to the database precision for java integration?
    Please advise,
    Thanks, Paula

    Answer:
    Oracle object is correct. Change the XSD schema to:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <xs:schema
    xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">
    <xs:include schemaLocation="RIBDate.xsd"/>
    <xs:element name="CurrRateDesc">
    <xs:complexType>
    <xs:sequence>
    <xs:element name="from_currency" type="varchar23"/>
    <xs:element name="to_currency" type="varchar23"/>
    <xs:element name="conversion_date" type="RIBDate"/>
    <xs:element name="conversion_rate" type="number20" precision="10" />
    <xs:element name="user_conversion_type" type="varchar230"/>
    </xs:sequence>
    </xs:complexType>
    </xs:element>
    <xs:simpleType name="varchar230">
    <xs:restriction base="xs:string">
    <xs:maxLength value="30"/>
    </xs:restriction>
    </xs:simpleType>
    <xs:simpleType name="varchar23">
    <xs:restriction base="xs:string">
    <xs:maxLength value="3"/>
    </xs:restriction>
    </xs:simpleType>
    <xs:simpleType name="number20">
    <xs:restriction base="xs:decimal">
    <xs:totalDigits value="20"/>
    </xs:restriction>
    </xs:simpleType>
    </xs:schema>
    Then regenerate the typed castor java objects.
    Thanks, Paula
