  • Experts - where are the main settings for country currency settings

    Hi
where are the main settings for different country currency settings.
    Ex:
us,canada and europe customers us$, canada $, europe euro,
How the pricing will effect for different country customers?
Any one can help me on this.
Any documents on thes please send to [email protected]
    Thanks
    Kris

You can find this in the following path.
    SPRO->GENERAL SETTINGS> SET COUNTRIES>DEFINE COUNTRIES-->
Here countries have an ISO CODE
    Then
    SPRO->GENERAL SETTINGS>CURRENCIES-->CHECK CURRENCY CODES
Here ISO codes mapped to currencies.
If CCode currency = Customer master currency, then transactions will happens in that currency
If CCode currency<> Customer master currency, then the exchange rate will come into play to convert customer currency to company code currency.
And anway if you want a different currency from the country currency, you can mention that in ccode configuration. The presence of currency in company code configuration is must and hence configuration at country level is not needed I think
    Hope this helps.

  • Foreign Currency Settings

    hi,
Can anyone send me important configuration required for maintaining foreign currencies at Flat rate.
we always make forward contracts for exports with bank therfore our exchange rate is gets fix for a particular period.

    Dear Sayujya,

    Foreign Currency Valuation
In order to create your financial statements, you have to carry out a foreign currency valuation. This valuation covers the following accounts and items:
Foreign currency balance sheet accounts, that is, the G/L accounts that you run in foreign currency.
The balances of the G/L accounts in foreign currency are valuated.
Open items posted in foreign currency.
The line items in foreign currency are valuated.
You have the following options for the foreign currency valuation:
You can carry out the valuation in local currency, (company code currency), or a parallel currency (for example, group currency).
You can also use different valuation methods (for example, lowest value principle).
In addition to the foreign currency valuation, you can also carry out a currency translation in accordance with FASB 52 (US GAAP). You can thereby translate your account balances from local currency into group currency, for example.
    Prerequisites
To carry out a foreign currency valuation, you must first make certain settings in Customizing. You make the settings in Customizing under Financial Accounting -> General Ledger Accounting/Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable -> Business Transactions -> Closing -> Valuating -> Foreign Currency Valuation.
You must define the exchange rates. See  Exchange Rates
You must also define a valuation method. Choose Define valuation methods.
You must also define the expense and revenue accounts for exchange rate differences from valuations. For payables and receivables accounts you must also define the financial statements adjustment accounts. To do this, choose Automatic postings for foreign currency valuations.
If you want to carry out a parallel valuation, you must also have defined a valuation area. Choose Define valuation areas.
The exchange rate differences from the parallel valuation are posted in this valuation area. If you carry out a parallel valuation with a different valuation method to the first valuation, you do not have to reverse the postings from the first valuation. This information is then available for subsequent closing operations, for example, Transferring and Sorting Receivables and Payables
    Features
You can use report SAPF100 for the foreign currency valuation. This report carries out the following functions:
Valuation of foreign currency balance sheet accounts
Valuation of open items in foreign currencies
Saving the exchange rate differences determined from the valuation per document
Carrying out the adjustment postings required
The following topics describe how to carry out foreign currency valuation using the reports, and how to post valuation differences. You can also make this posting manually. From the SAP Easy Access screen, choose Accounting -> Financial accounting -> General ledger -> Document entry -> Valuate foreign currency.
    Activities
To carry out a foreign currency valuation, from the SAP Easy Access screen, choose Accounting -> Financial accounting -> General ledger/Accounts receivable/Accounts payable -> Periodic processing -> Closing -> Valuate -> Foreign currency valuation.
    Hope this will help.
    Regards,
    Naveen.

  • Currency settings

This is a very upsetting way to open christmas presents!
I gave my husband $25 in skype credit.
He renews it and got $23. We are not happy.
We investigate a bit and find this is because Skype decides that it should double convert currency from US$ (which is what I paid) to Korean won (because he opened his account in Korea many years ago, but is now living in the US), then back to US $ (because when you redeem, it asks what "COUNTRY" are you in).
I was like, no sweat just email customer service I am sure they will fix it.
    We try, and we find
    * the links to writing a short emial to skype just logs you out.  Maybe they are going to stop receiving emails. (under "get more help", there is a link "support request page" which I tried clicking 5 times, and each time it just logs me out)
    * he "chat" customer service who explain that there is a SEPARATE CURRENCY setting (which you can only get to if you log in to a skype website.  Profiles in the skype software does not have it). And we are supposed to know this.
    * so he can't help us
The buttom line is when a user is redeeming gifts, it should ask
"what CURRENCY do you want it in?" and that would have been simple.
Having $2 ripped off my christmas gift becuase skype is trying to get the software working correctly is not fun!
Then spending 10 minutes "chatting" someone who can't do anything and spending another 10 minutes finding out there must be a bug on their website for emailing a private compliant is even more upsetting.
Not a fun way to spend Christmas morning.
Maybe skype things customers don't care much about $$ as long as they have a cool community.

I appreciate that you are looking into this quickly after my post.
So how about I take the time to share a piece of advice in the hopes it will make everyone happier including future users. A user who is already frustrated with how bad the software is REALLY not happy to see customer service tell you "update your software", when you KNOW part of your frustration is that you JUST did this.
I believe the most updated Windows software DOES NOT have currency setting in profile. As I did JUST do this.
Now, I could be wrong as an upset person doing things quickly.
So, if you are going to post a message of this nature, my advice is FIRST check that whatever it is that you think will fix the problem with an update is truly there (i.e. if you think profile in new windows software has the currency setting).
Second, when posting it, tell the user what you think updating will do for them (so that I can go check if it was me overlooking something).
Otherwise, this post would have been MUCH better without the update note because I just spent another 5 minutes trying to figure out what I overlooked.
I have a phD in computer science so I know a thing or two about using/updating software. So when I see something like this, it nags me that I didn't use the software correctly and want to find out what went wrong. A post like this, just annoys me more because of that.
One last suggestion, skype really should have a way for customers to complain privately and not force us to complain publicly. It is not like I want to do this publicly. I am a very long time skype user (over 10 years).

  • Currency in 'Cost Centers: Actual/Plan/Variance' report for specific user

Hi there CO people, I'd like to ask about currency settings in CO S_ALR_87013611 report (Cost Centers: Actual/Plan/Variance)

  • Report painter currency issue

    Hello experts
    Situation is like this:
The customer has 3 different company codes which all use different currencies as local currency. They use only one controlling area (Euro).
    100=EURO
    200=DKK
    300=SEK
The report painter report is for their administrative costs. what has gone wrong if i run the report for example all cost centers in company code 200 and cant see the total sum in DKK. I assume that the problem is because there are postings in different currencies.
Could someone tell me how to create a report which shows the total sum clearly in DKK even if there are postings in different currencies. I know that there is S_ALR_87005721 transaction where you can change the currency settings but no success. Plese tell me how to change the formula + any other comments warmly welcome. The postings included in report should be automatically translated to DKK on their posting day currency. There is a challenge for someone.
At the moment i have only one characteristic in Total definition (GRR2):
    Variable Description         Type      Table
1CKSTAR  Cost Element Group  Set  CCSS KSTAR
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Gokul,
Your approach is correct, if you wish to display the data in another currency
then as you have described you will need to make a copy of the reports / forms (for
example create a custom form based on the current one) using transactions CJE1
and CJE4 then modify these custom forms by adding new columns for the value in
object currency and by deactivating the columns which refer to the values in controlling
area currency. You can create your own transaction codes for calling these custom
reports (based on the modified forms).
Regarding displaying the values in object currency SAP Note 1925431 provides further
    information on this.

    Enrique

  • Currency difference in PCA reports

    Dear All,
I am facing an issue in PCA report. When I run t code: S_ALR_87013326 for a particular profit center values are showing in the PrCt currency ie. SAR. Later, if I want to check the company code currency (e.e. EGP) by selecting currency translation and select EGP as currency and choose "default for drill down report. Here the value is showing as below:
Later, come back and check for actual line items, the value is showing different as below:
What I have observed is, I have checked the currency settings. Till 20.05.2014, currency translations was 1 SAR to 1.86 EGP. From 23.05.2014, we have changed the exchange rate as 1 SAR = 1.90 EGP. Today, I checked the profit center report for March 2014, it is converting the local currency (EGP) value with today's currency exchange rate i.e. 1.90. Actually it should be calculated based on 1.86.
How to achieve the above scenario?
    Br, Srinivas Salpala

    Hi Ajay,
Actually, when we check the report, initially values are in SAR. Later, when the user going for currency translation as shown in the below and select the local currency in EGP and choose "Default to drill down reporting" value is showing is converted with the today's rate i.e. 1.90 and the value is 76,612.90.
But when I come back and double click on the item to check actual line item with "In company local currency" from change layout, value is showing only EGP75,000.
Here, client wants when he checks with the currency translation as shown below, the value the value of SAR40,322.58 should be consider the exchange rate 1.86 (which was there at the time of posting the transaction in the month of March 2014). But its considering the exchange rate as 1.90 which is for today's rate.
    How to achieve this?
    BR, Srinivas Salpala

  • Valuation view assign to Group, Legal, Profit center currencies

    Hi all,
What i understood the valuation means. it views the business transaction in different ways and it will be assigned based on client requirements.
    My question is:
Currently, i am using two different valuation i.e, Group and legal valuation and assigned to Group and company code currency respectively and Same thing maintained in Controlling Area (Combination of Group and Legal valuation) under currency settings. We posted number of postings based on this config.
Now, my requirement is can i change this config. (valuation from Group to Profit center) in mid of the year. if it so  what are merits and demerits for this config.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Raghu

  • Reporting in Group currency

    Dear All,
We have an issue related to report as below
Our SAP system is currently set up to report in the following company currencies :-
    1000     GBP
    2000     GBP
    3000     EUR
    4000     EUR
    5000     GBP
Currently our reporting or group currency is GBP, so  co.code 3000 and 4000 are also reported in GBP.
The issue is, can we report in more than one Group currency at a time ?  If possible we would like to
report group results in GBP and EUR. If that was not possible, is it difficult to change Group currency from GBP to EUR.
    Looking for your sugggestions.
    Thanks in advance
    Prasad

    Hi Paul,
    Thanks for your quick reply.
All the above mentioned co.codes are assigned to only one controlling area.
In controlling area currency settings are as below:
Currency type: 30 : group currency
    Currency       : GBP
Now can you please suggest me, how to proceed further.
    Thanks in advance
    Regards,
    Prasad
