Currency translation from EUR to USD

Dear all,
Our local currency is TWD and we need to convert document currency in sales order from EUR to the third currency (e.g. USD) when executing BW query in BEx Analyzer. Currently we only have exchange rates for all currencies to TWD in exchange rate table. Except for defining exchange rate of EUR to USD in exchange rate table, is it possible to convert EUR to USD (e.g. convert EUR to TWD first and then convert TWD to USD)?

The update of exchange rates is updating tables TCURR and TCURV. If you run at the same place the transfer of global settings, the tables TCURF, TCURS, TCURT, TCURV, TCURW, TCURX, TCURC and TCURN are updated.
For details check the programs RSIMPCUST (global settings) vs. RSIMPCURR (exchange rates).
You can maintain exchange rate factors in TCURF table via RSA1>source system>context menu (transfer global settings check only currencies)/transfer exchange rates, this updates TCURF table but also updates all currency related tables. You need to check what all tables you need to update. Also you can look into standard program RSIMPCUST to know what all currency tables will be updated.
If you want to maintain them directly in BW then go to SPRO > Genral settings and Currencies (SPRO -> Global Settings -> Currencies).
OB08 maintains the enties for currency conversion, here you can check whether the exchange rate is maintained to convert the currency from one curr to other.

If the bank account is in foreign currency , the GL account assinged to the bank account (USD bank account) should also be created with same currency.
Please check the currency of the Gl accounts assinged the bank account.

Currency Translation from local to group currency in AP /AR

Hi Gurus,
I have reporting requiremtents where in i need to show KF;s in local and group currency. I am using standard extractor AP_4 and AR_4. These extractors does not bring KF's in Group currency but only in local and document currency.
Can anyone tell me what is the best way to go about carrying out the currency translation from local to glocal currency for AP and AR.

I take it you mean the extra currency in the company code config (ie group reporting)
Just unhide the fields DMBE2 and HWAE2 from the extract structure and allocate a new infoobject to them - then add to eith your transformation or transfer rules/update rules and add to the cube

Currency Translation from FI to CO

Hi All,
Need help to know how currency translation is done from FI to CO.
I have two company code called A and B having located at two different countries. For company code B I am doing rollout as they both uses different currency rate and their local currency is also different.
For Company code A its the standard Exchange rate type M which is been used.
But for company code B I had to create a Z exchange rate type and usd 2nd local currency type as 60 which is Global company currency.
Now FI side I can see for Company code B its converting with proper exchange rate.
But when I see CO and Profit centers reports its taking from M exchange rate type though I have created separate controlling area. and In CO settings for versions and fiscal year I have given ZM as exchange rate type.
How can I manage to get the currency conversion in Z exchange rate type.

I am using different Chart of accounts and controlling area. I tried using direct quote for my Z Echange rate type but the calculation is going wrong in FI side.
So can you provide me more information how will I get in Profit Center reporting.

I am attempting to run the add beneficiaries service in employee self servie and receive the following error message "Error occurred during currency conversion from blank to USD
Has anyone come across this error before?

Both are set up properly. This error only happens on some US teammate records. It seems to occur after we do a refresh of our QA environment from our produciton environment

Standard Currency translation behaviour

Dear All,
We are using standard currency translation planning function for converting amounts from EUR to INR with exchange rate type M.
In the TCURR table, I have exchange rates maintained from USD to EUR and from USD to INR. But, there is no direct exchange rate maintained from EUR to INR.
I would like to know, how the translation will be done in this case. I thought it would first convert from EUR to USD and then from USD to INR. But when I check the records after translation, this is not the case.
Any suggestions?

Maintained the reference currency as 'USD' for the currency translation exchange rate type 'M'.
We are using the standard currency translation planning function to convert the currency values. Also converting the values based on the beginning of the month exchange rates.
The values in TCURR are as follows:

The incoming record has the value 1,866.67 EUR for the period 001.2008. This value needs to be converted to INR. After running the currency translation planning function 1866.67 EUR is translated to 82,450.81 INR. Not able to trace how this calculation from EUR to INR has been done.
Pls advise on how this conversion has taken place based on which exchange rates.

Currency Translation using 0HRFIXCUR

We are trying to translate various Document currencies into a unique local currency (USD) .
We are trying to achieve this at the query. The currency translation type used is 0HRFIXCUR which converts all the other currencies other than USD to USD.
The problem is that when we are trying to convert the currency from EUR to USD its picking up an exhchange rate which is absurd. The rate as per TCURR and OB08 is 1 EURO = 1.49 $ but its picking the value as 1 EURO = 0.9399 $ .
I have seen some posts in the forums but have no clarity as to what has to be done.
Kindly share your views on this.

But my TCURR table does'nt contain any value like that for exchange rate type M which the translation key 0HRFIXCUR is using.

Currency Translation in Query on InfoSet

Hi Experts,
I need to do a currency conversion from 0LOC_CURRENCY to USD on an Infoset. The Data flow is DSOs --> Infoset --> Multiprovider --> Query. I want to do this Translation on Posting date which is in my DSO, Infoset and Multiprovider. I have created custom Translation Type on Postind date (with Exchange Rate Type = M, Fixed Target Currency = USD, Time Reference as Special Infoobject = 0PSTNG_DATE in RSCUR) in RSCUR but in the Query, I cannot see this custom conversion type available, as in report the infoobject 0PSTNG_DATE is available as '<Infoset Name>__FXX' .
Is there any paricular setting need to be done on an infoset to incorporate Currency Translation on Query ? Also, if there is any other procedure available for Infoset Currency Translation, please let me know.

As I want to do my currency translation on an Infoset the infoobjects do not appear in traditional format. 0PSTING_DATE has taken a name '<Infoset Name>__FXX' (like ZISCURTR__F24). How can I put this reference in RSCUR 'Time Ref' tab in Infoset option over there ? It gives only a F4 help option (donot allow to write something there) and my infoset is not available in the list. Is there any particular setting that I can do in my infoset to make that available in RSCUR F4 help ?

Currency Translation in BO 4.0 Analysis Edition Office 1.1

We are using Analysis Edition Office 1.1 for reporting and SAP BW system as source. After I create the report, I would like to change the currency for USD instead of report currency which is CAD. We have an option of Currency Translation available (in Measures), however when I try to use this option to convert the values to USD, it throws an error message:
An exception occurred.
Send the attached log file to your administrator.
SAP BI Addin will be closed.
If you want to save the data in the document, you must save a copy of the document because the data needed for the addin functions cannot be saved correctly. (ID102001)
I also checked 'Advanced Options' in User Settings, so that in the Currency Translation window 'Use Currency Translation from Query Definition' was enabled. But this option is greyed out in my reports.
Now, if I run the same report for testing in BEx Analyzer, the currency translation works as expected. This would mean that it may not be a problem in the BEx query settings.
Is there something I am missing or some settings in Analysis Office 1.1 I need to configure to get this working ?

Have you downloaded the latest version of Analysis Office, version 1.2, which has been GA since January 31st? It is now on SP 4.
I would download the latest version of Analysis Office to see if that works.

Currency translation taking more time at first time in the report

Hi All,
Here is an issue regarding the currency translation in the report. when we click on the currency translation from the contaxt menu on the report, its taking more time for the first time to get the selection options. But it is fast from the second time onwards. It will be not user friendly if its takes more time for the first time. Is there any way to fast up the processing time for the first time when i go for the "currency translation" option at report level for the first time.
let me know why it takes more time for the first time when we go for this option at report level.

This is undoubtedly not a database issue.
I doubt you can fix it in the database.
You can, however, spend a lot of hours asking questions and poking around if you are a consultant paid by the hour.
But as long as you are looking for something to do here are some that won't fix the problem but may be worth a few minutes of your time.

Change of Standard Currency Translation Logic

Hello everybody,
I need to achieve special goal to for a user request:
In a BPC planning application using version 5 MS I would like to import data from another data source and perform a currency translation from LC to RC. The application is NOT set-up as a YTD application, as the planners should be able to input data on a periodic basis (i.e. month). So the default currency tranlation would take the LC amount from one month and multiply it with the rate for this month giving the amount in RC.
I need to change the FX trans logic in a way that the LC amounts are summed up first and then the multiplication with the last FX rate is taken, i.e. similar to a YTD consolidation application. I do not want to change the existing appl into a YTD-appl as monthly input is needed.
Therefore I need to change the standard FX trans logic from, let's say, "multiply each monthLC value by FX rate and then build the YTD value" into "sum-up each month LC value giving YTD LC value and then multiply by FX rate of the last month".
Can I achieve that by tweaking the standard FX logic or do I need to set-up a certain FX Business Rule? Do I need a new measure ? How would the coding look like ?

Transformation Currency translation error

Hi,
I'm afraid I have a problem while implementing transformation from 3.5 to 7.0.
source - 0net value unit 0doc_currcy target: 0incordval unit 0stat_curr.
the sysetm saw the currency translation (from 0doc_curry to 0stat_curr), but not the conversion category, I get no F4-help for this field (msg RSTRAN170 Fields of the rule invalid for a conversion.
When I would like to change the conversion category, I can see all I created in 3.5 do I have to implement them also or do I have to do some other regarding the error message?
could somebody help me please?

Can you please check that 0doc_curry and 0stat_curr are the reference characteristics of 0CURRENCY
I think these two currencies are not referencing to 0CURRENCY. That is why you are getting the error.

Currency translation type to be created

Hi
need to create the currency translation type where we need to convert the data stored in local currency in the real time cube using the exchange rate type and excahnge rate and all other details stored in another std cube . And excahnge rate type and excahnge rate are customised objects not referencing to std objects and not the standards.The real time cube and the exchange rate cube is connected to the multiprovider.We have created the aggregation level on top of multiprovider.
Can we use still RSCUR to create the currency translation type to read the data from the excahnge rate cube during query run time to calculate the target currency.
Tried to use the currency translation from the planning workbench but it still asks for the currency conversion type.
Please advise

Hi
You need to use any one of the Standard Currency Conversion Types provided by SAP--B/G/M/P. Generally 'P' is used for Planning purposes.
You can also create user defined CC Types. You need to maintain that. If you get in touch with any FICO consultant at your location....he/she will guide you appropriately.
