Currency Translation from local to group currency in AP /AR

Hi Gurus,
I have reporting requiremtents where in i need to show KF;s in local and group currency. I am using standard extractor AP_4 and AR_4. These extractors does not bring KF's in Group currency but only in local and document currency.
Can anyone tell me what is the best way to go about carrying out the currency translation from local to glocal currency for AP and AR.

I take it you mean the extra currency in the company code config (ie group reporting)
Just unhide the fields DMBE2 and HWAE2 from the extract structure and allocate a new infoobject to them - then add to eith your transformation or transfer rules/update rules and add to the cube

Realized exchange rate difference in local and group currency

For a company code with local currency as Euro and group currency as USD, the setting in TR code OB22 for group currency is: Translation taking first local currency as a basis. When the open items are cleared, SAP posts difference in local currency and group currency. Sometimes, document currency is also group currency i.e. USD. The realized exchange difference is posted in Euro but it is not converted from Euro to group currency. Instead, system just calculates difference in group currency by comparing the value in group currency at the time of original transaction and when the transaction is cleared. Does anyone have dealt with such requirement and is there a way to be able to translate realized exchange differences from local to group currency?

Translation to local currency in logical database FTI_TR_CASH_FLOWS

Hi,
I created an infoset based on logical database FTI_TR_CASH_FLOWS. Based on this infoset I created a query. One of the fields I chose is "Payment Amount in Local Currency". In the query the translation to local currency is done using a currency rate that is incorrect. For example I show in the report a future flow and I expect the translation to be done using the latest rate becuase the flow is in the future -what actually happens is that the translation is done using an older rate previous to the latest rate. I also show the field "Payment Amount in Display Currency" which is translated correctly.
Does anyone know this problem?

I see that the amount in LC is taken from table TRDT_FLOW that is why it is not updated in the report although new currency rates were entered.
Is this a bug?

0fi_gl_6 - available local and group currency

Hi,
I have a problem with DataSource 0fi_gl_6. I need to consult accumulated balance in local
and group currency. I know in GLT0 this information is available.
In spite of this I could not see them when I load it in BW.

Maybe I come a bit late now, but I faced the same issue this afternoon.
Datasource 0FI_GL_6 is still in version 3.x. So it seems that you need to create two different Infopackages for the initialization of the delta, one selecting Currency Type 10 and one for Currency Type 30. The Delta-update infopackage will update the selection automatically once the system is initialized.
Maybe 1st check in RSA3 in the sourcesystem if the extractor gives any data for your selection. 2nd create the 2 Initialization Infopackages. Then 3rd open the infopackage, go to 'Scheduler' --> 'Initialization options for source systems' and delete the old entry for 0FI_GL_6. 4th go to RSA7 in the source system and verify if the entries are really gone; if they're not gone, delete them manually. Then run both infopackages. From now on, the delta update will update for both, Local and Group currency.

How SAP captured the RAW MAT amount from Local currency to JPY.

I've class 1 material when perform maintained receipt found the RAW Mat material was posting wrong figure when convert from Local Currency RM to JPY.
Exp: my RAW MAT amount is material standard price x qty.
Let said my standard price is RM9.61 and the qty is 180 so that my Raw Mat amount is RM1729.80 and exchange rate is 3.718 form JPY to MYR when i display it on document currency the amount show in JPY is 46,440 instead off 46,525.
But when i cancel the document the system do captured the correct amount 46,525.
How sap get this Raw Mat amount?

The RAW MATT price is correct when in Local Currency which is in MYR but there are the variance when convert to others currency like JPY and USD.

Hard currency is not valuated in FAGL_FC_VAL along with local and group currency

I have the below system settings for FOREX revaluation. The revaluation is not happening for Hard currency along with local and group currency. The test data and other settings seams to be fine as the below mentioned workaround works perfectly for hard currency revaluation.
I would like to take your expert feedback on this issue to confirm whether this is how SAP works or its an issue with FAGL_FC_VAL program.
System Settings:

Define two Valuation area, say
1. Valuation Area: A1 which will have currency type 10 and 30.
2. Valuation Area: A2 which will have only the currency type 40.
3. Run FAGL_FC_VAL twice for these area.
Issue with this work around:
1. The valuation area is assigned to one accounting principle (which is in turn assigned to a specific ledger).
2. Thus, if I have different accounting FOREX process to be followed in different ledgers (say IFRS ledger, Local Ledger, Tax ledger) then I need to create 2 valuation area (as per above workaround) for each ledgers and run FAGL_FC_VAL for each of these valuation areas.

Report Painter - Translation from Transaction Currency

Hi,
I have set up a report painter report using "Translation from Transaction Currecny" as one of the key figures in one of the columns in the report. When I execute the report it prompts me for the target currency and the ER type which is what I was expecting. EG I want to translate actuals to say AUD at budget rate (type P)
My question is.... I add a second column again using the same key figure ""Translation from Transaction Currecny" which I want to exchange using a different Exchange rate type.E.g I want to translate actuals to AUD using the forecast rate (type Q). However, when I execute the report I was expectiong to be prompted twice for the target currency and exchange rate type but it still only prompts me once.
Does that mean that using the key figure that I cannot use it in more than one column in the report?

The trick is find the existing report tree related to standard main menu.
Or create a new report tree where you house all custom or selected reports in one place.
May also consider using area menu (SE43): create a structure, for example, to house all custom reports. A useful tool to manage custom/specifc reports

Local Route Groups vs translation to E.164

Hello.
Can anybody describe local route groups benefits compared to dialplan with translations to E.164?
Let's see simple scenario. I have 3 sites - MSK, SPB and NSK. All site has phones and a gateway, each site has it's partition for termination (TERM-MSK, TERM-SPB, TERM-NSK) and a partition for translation (XLAT-MSK, XLAT-SPB, XLAT-NSK). There are 2 CSS for translation and termination for each site (CSS-X-MSK, CSS-X-SPB, CSS-X-NSK, CSS-TERM-MSK, CSS-TERM-SPB and CSS-TERM-NSK). All phones has a translation CSS local to it's site configured, for example phones at MSK has CSS-X-MSK in phone configuration. There are translation patterns for translating dialed off-net numbers to E.164 format (7495XXXXXXX for MSK, 7812XXXXXXX for SPB and 7383XXXXXXX for NSK). Subscribers uses 9 for local off-net calls and 90 for long-distance, there are 2 translation patterns with corresponding XLAT partition and CSS-TERM CSS (9.[1-9]XXXXXX -> 7495 prefix plus XXXXXXX and 90.[1-9]XXXXXXXXX -> 7 plus XXXXXXXXXX, partition XLAT-MSK, CSS CSS-TERM-MSK for MSK). CSS-X CSSes has corresponding XLAT partition only. CSS-TERM CSSes has allowed TERM patitions. Each route pattern has corresponding TERM partition and points to single route list with single route group. Finally I have 3 route patterns 3 route lists, 3 route groups, 6 partitions and 6 CSSes total).
Using Local Route Groups I have the same 3 route patterns, 3 route lists and 3 route groups but one partition and one CSS. Pros for this scheme is less partitions and CSSes. Cons is the loss of flexibility (I can't allow calls to anywhere from MSK and only MSK and NSK for NSK and can't use different prefixes for off-net calls for each office).
Have I understood the Features and Services Guide rignt? Is there other way to translate dialed off-net number to E.164 without using extra partitions and CSSes (Translatio Pattern requires this)?

Local Route Groups have not dependency on e.164 dial plan and vice-versa, there are independent features. Local Route groups allow you to consolidate your route patterns/route lists/CSS/PT, depending on complexity of your routing you can accomplish all your remote site routing via a common set of route patterns/list CSS/partitions, so routing decisions are based on local route groups assigned to device pool of the calling device rather than just the CSS. E.164 dial plan is merely a way to structure dialed numbers, how and where you transform them is up to you, I prefer using transformation patterns vs. translation patterns for example.

UNABLE TO ACCESS THE INTERNET FROM LOCAL PROVIDER ON A SITE-TO-SITE VPN CONNECTION

I have a site-to-site connection from point A to point B. From point B i am unable to access the internet from local internet provider.
I am trying to ping from 192.168.20.1 the dns 8.8.8.8 but i receive the message "destination net unreachable".
When i run "show ip nat translation" i receive nothing.
The vpn connection is working properly, i can ping the other side 192.168.10/24

You cannot access internet, because all traffic is tunneled for VPN !!!!
Please see cisco tech documentation and bypass traffic for internet.
eg. if lan traffic is going from site a to site b then through vpn
else
lan traffic to internet (any) should be out thorugh the vpn .

Through Portal it is not possible to copy a page from one page group to another .
There is a feature in Portal WebDav .
Through a DAV client you can copy page to your local system as a folder and then drag the page to the pagegroup you want to copy .

Active Directory users not made member of Local Network group

Hi all,
I've just done a clean install from 10.6 Server to 10.8.4.
The issue I seem to be having is a mismatch between what Groups in Server.app is reporting as members (who happen to be users or groups from our Active Directory domains) of a Local Network group and what dseditgroup reports as members of the same network.
The Setup:
In Groups in Server.app under Local Network Group I have created a group call "AccessServer"
Members in that group are:
     - AD-Domain User Group (so should be all users in the domain)
     - MacOS X "netaccounts" group (again, should capture all users that connect through the network I've used this in the past/10.6 very handy)
     - AD User 1
     - AD User 2
     - AD User 3
The Server is bound to the AD Domain, All-Domains is not selected and a Search Path is added for each Domain needed and set at the top of the search order.
The Behaviour:
AD User 1 can access AFP and other services as expected.
AD User 2 and 3 cannot.
Another user within AD-Domain User Group or netaccounts can access AFP and other services as expected
Yet other users within AD-Domain User Group or netaccounts cannot
Furthermore:
If I REMOVE AD User 1 (a working user) *and* the AD Domain Group and netaccounts Group. I can still login with that account!
Diagnosis:
I tried checking group membership with dseditgroup, the results match the behaviour, not the setup.

I get the same results even after removing the user from the Groups screen!
Failed Solutions
- As we are a large AD I've tried specifying specific Active Direcotry servers that might better be able to find the users in question and authenticate.
- I've let the system just sit, in hopes delayed replication would solve the problem overnight.
- I've deleted and recreated the groups.

Upon further investigation we have discovered:
a) the main behaviour that is causing the problem is best described as AD users that are added to a Local or Network OS X group... either individually or through a Domain group.... are not actually recognized as members of that OS X group even though the GUI or CLI tool have added them and acknowledge them as being in the list.
b) This is NOT limited only to MacOS X Server 10.8. The same behaviour is occuring on a long-running 10.6 server as well.
c) The problem remains whether we nest AD groups to capture a large bunch of users, or add users individually. If the user is part of the mysteriously denied set, how they are added to the OD or local group is irrelevant, including if added from the command line.
d) Which users are allowed and which are not is unclear and appears generally random. We have found 3 'classes' of users:
          1 - those that are successfully becoming members every time.
          2 - those that are intermittent members. Members on one server or another, or in one case even go from being reported as a member (by dseditgroup), to not being a member, to being a member again within the span of only a minute or two.
          3 - those that are never successfully admitted as a member.
So the problem is both Apple's and Windows in that:
Apple: Is allowing a group and/or user to be added and implying then membership in the group even though that membership is not being honoured in some way and there is no feedback or communication of that fact aside from generic 'denied' or 'illegal user' errors.
Windows: Is passing along membership through its groups and users, but not completely, for reasons that are, at this point, a mystery.
Really hoping people have some ideas on this. This system of nested groups or individual user access is something we have of course being using for many years. So this is a major setback.

Error adding new users from local server

In Administration Console we're trying to add user from local server (server with SQL Database), and warning window is appeared with message "The Server Is Not Operational [BPBCP01]"

The installation was done with a local user or with a domain user?
You know that BPC server can not be in the same time also domain controler.
Are you using Windows authentication or CMS authentication.
If you are using CMS authentication then again you can not add local users.
If you are using Windows authentication then you have to go into server Manager
Options - Define System User Groups
Domain Type - Local Windows
System User Group Name - Local Users.
If you are using Windows 2008 make sure you addrole to have compatibility with IIS 6.because using this module bpc is adding new users.

DPM 2012 still requires put end users into local admin groups for the purpose of end user data recovery?

On client computers that are protected by DPM 2010 and prior versions, you had to put the end users account in the local administrators group. If you did not add the end user account to the local administrators group you would get this error after opening
the recovery tab in the DPM client: “DPM found no recovery points which you are authorized to restore on the specified DPM server. You can restore only those recovery points for which you were an administrator at the time the
backup was taken. To restore other recovery points, contact your DPM administrator, or attempt to restore from another DPM.” This is not ideal on many networks because the end users are not allowed to have local administrator access.
Ths fix to this was included in hotfix 2465832 found here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2465832.
This hotfix (a hotfix rollup package for DPM 2010) resolves other issues with DPM 2010 as well. You can find the full list of what this hotfix corrects on that link.
One would think this issue should have been resolved in DPM 2012, however I am encountering the same exact issue, had to include end-users into the workstation local admin group before they can search for recovery points on the DPM server. This is not acceptable
practice.
Is there a new hotfix for the same issue on DPM 2012? I am hesitated to apply KB2465832 since it also includes many other fixes for DPM 2010, which may not appicable for version 2012.

This is a hands off solution to allow all users that use a machine to be able to restore their own files.
1) Make these two cmd files and save them in c:\temp
2) Using windows scheduler – schedule addperms.cmd to run daily – any new users that log onto the machine will automatically be able to restore their own files.

The problem actually is that you still need to use an admin account to write on the registry, so ensure you configure it properly on the schedule task.
In case you use a service account on the schedule task... the "$uservariable" will get populated with that account. As a work around to this... I changed it for the following line:

$uservariable = ReadValue("HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Authentication\LogonUI", "LastLoggedOnSAMUser")
=========================================================
The only problem with that, is that key gets created/updated only if user gets logged phisically on that PC, but will not work for anyone connecting through RDP.

How to remove user from custom DLU Group

Hi,
I have created a DLU policy that creates a local user, and places this user
in a custom local group (Group is already present on the system). Now I want
to remove this user from this custom group and place it in another custom
group. I have created a second DLU policy to place the user in the new
custom group. The new custom group is added fine, but the old custom group
assignment also remains. How should I set up the policy so that the user is
removed from the old custom group, or is this not possible?
