Current date in BO queries with Universe built on Infocube

Hi dear experts,
We are facing the following issue :
- we built a universe on top of a multiprovider (with 2 infocubes) since we don't want to manage BW Queries.
- we need to restrict data on WebI queries using current date or system date (to compare with a date from the universe)
No options to do that seem to be available through MDX in the universe.
Has anyone already solved such an issue and how do you proceed?

Hi Andre,
I assume you are aware that you are losing items when connecting to the cubes directly, such as restricted keyfigures, calculated keyfigures, variables, structures, navigational attributes, and the option to use authorization variables.
In the universe right now you don't have an option to reference something like a system data - that is done with an EXIT variable in the query.

Every backup replaces the old one, so, unless you included the backup folder in your computer backup routine, you can't get back your calendar info.
The only time iTunes will not replace a backup is, when you use it to restore from, this one will stay in the backup list in iTunes.

Data Link - 2 Queries with Parameters

hello, I have read couple of post and couldnt get the answer that i am looking for.
I am using Oralce 10g Report.
I have created report that use 2 queries. On my first Query i have all the detail information by each Company (withing Company i have two Department). I am using Metrix Report in order to get my Department Total and also Report Total for the Company. and Each company has about 8 fileds accross the report.
Now on my second Query i am doing SUM of all the Department so thats way i can put at bottom of my report on each company report to see overall what the all department number's are.
so in simple word: i have
My First Report
company_name Dept_name, sales_amt, ytd_amt ....
Food_Mart grocery $ 2525.25 $123554.55
Food_Mart Vegitable $330.25 $2354555.54
My Second Report
company_name Dept_name, sales_amt, ytd_amt ....
J&J grocery $22425.25 $2513554.55
Food_Lion Vegitable $47330.25 $25548555.54
so on.. each company have their own report and i pass parameter where user enter company name and it will generate reports.
Now i am trying to put each Dept_name under each report and get their Grand Total so thats way I can see what will be the Dept_Name Grand Total.
Now so Far, I created Data_Link and put the sumDEPT_NAME on Data Model as sumDEPT_NAMEPerReport and created field under Sales_AMT and it gives me an ERROR.
RPT-1517 reference column DEPT_NAME .............. to sumDEPT_NAME
Can you guys can explain me how to solve this type of probelm?
Or atlead give me some idea where i can try it.

In my opinion you could try to use a Summary Column,with function Sum and source tha data you want to sum.

HT2559 Data scrubbing / patrol read with RAID built by Disk Utility

I have used Disk Utility to make a RAID 1 array from two commercial hard drives. The RAID is to hold my music and movie files. While the data redundancy was one reason to make the RAID, I also hoped that the Mac would perform "data scrubbing" of the RAID to keep the files from degrading over time. Does the OS X RAID controller perform this data scrubbing, and does it do so automatically, or is there an app for that? Thanks!

Always have two backups or sets of data. If you are going to erase one set... then for a stretch of time you only have the one good copy I take it? I guess the originals would be one good set, so you are safe.
You realize you can unmount drives connected on Sonnet controllers, right? No need to shutdown your computer, just the enclosure(s). Couldn't tell if that is what you said anyway.
I don't use internal drives for backups, just external SATA and at least one on FireWire. One backup is always off line at any time. And enough juice on the UPS to carry me through what I am doing or can safely get past.
I just read one of AMUG/michael's post on a controller that supports hardware RAID and ability to map out bad sectors "on the fly" which is about the only time I worry about a failure. That, and UPS, and beware of OS patches and updates (one security update affected SeriTek on some G4/5s).
I'd say you've done a lot for being new to RAID - and using the same make/model/revision for all your drives helps a lot. Buying together, and having at least one 'spare' if one fails, is also good insurance.
Some poeple use 4 drives in a 5-drive enclosure. For heat and ventilation and because sometimes it might be ideal for performance. Never used or seen the 500P up close but I suspect it is well built.
You could build a 2nd 500P and either increase performance or capacity or use 2nd as backup. If you don't need to copy 1GB per minute, then a concatenated RAID fills drive A before putting data on B and is more secure than a stripped RAID but still shows up as one large volume.

Unable to access queries in Universe created over infocubes

Hello Gurus
Im having a weird situation over here with my queries created over BI content info cubes.Ive gone through all the threads related to my issue and ive tried more or less all the solutions specified. I hope i would get a different solution than what has been stated in other threads. Im able to see the cube under the $INFOCUBE but i'm unable to see my queries created under the OLAP folder which is usually above the $INFOCUBE. Can you please help me out as im struck since a while and havent been able to move further. and the funny thing is im able to see some BI content queries created over other infocubes...but why mine?????
my system details:
SAP BW 7.30 SP5
SAP BI 4.0 SP2

Have the BEX Queries been saved with the property "Allow external access" ?
Which Client Tool is displaying this problem? Universe Designer? Information Design Tool ? WebIntelligence? etc
also, where are you creating your OLAP connection? CMC or IDT ?
Which authentication type are you using? i.e Prompt is OK for Analysis, but WebI/CR require 'named' or 'sso'

Import data from BO XI R2 universe to an infocube in SCM APO

Guys,
We have a requirement to import data from a BO universe which contains historical figures into our APO system. With what parameters should i define the RFC destination in SM59 on the APO side? What should the connection type be? Has anyone made a similar connection before?
It would be very nice if I could get a step by step instruction set on how to setup this connection. Please help. Needless to mention, helpful answers will be <removed by moderator>.

To manually edit in PSA, use transaction RSA1. In the "modeling" folder, open the "PSA" folder. By opening the concerned infosource, you'll find the PCfile PSA you need to edit, it must be named "REQU_xxxxxx" and time stamped : by clicing on the PSA symbol, you'll reach a popup named "selection of data packets for editing". Select all the records and validate. Then you'll reach a screen named "maintenance of PSA data request REQU_xxxxxxx" : there you can see how the system truly read your flat file datas, and you'll be able to correct those datas, and save modifications. After that you can have a try to restart the loading (only from PSA to infocube of course....)
This should allow you to spot the problem in your flat file.... I hope...

my requirement is, user allowed select one date, in code i have compare this date with current day date. it should be 15days gap other wise display error message.

1. Create a new folder, say Util under your src folder. (com.xyz.util)
2. Put this DateHelper.java file in that folder,(com.xyz.util) .
3. Now, write an import statement for this java class in the required view.
4. Use the getDifference() method of this class to the difference in days between two days.

Simply use this code.
// Get msec from each, and subtract.
long diff = currDate.getTime() - selectedDate.getTime();
int noOfDays = diff / (1000 * 60 * 60 * 24);
where currDate is today's Date and selectedDate is the Date selected by the User.

BI Integrated Planning - Most Current Data in Query

Hi Experts,
I have a small question about Integrated Planning, for a better understanding.
in a workbook I have a reporting query and a button. the button triggers a planning function that is executed at another query (which is not displayed in the workbook).
Both query's are built upon the same aggregate of a real time InfoProvider.
Now when I execute the planning function, the new data (that is in the open request in the infoProvider) made by the planning function, is immediately displayed in the reporting query.
But I did not inserted a 'most current data' infoobject in the reporting query.
So how come that the data in the open request is displayed in my reporting query?
Is this a new functionality of IP?

Two times yes:
- I meant the variable 'most current data'.
- the queries are built on the same aggregate.
So when you built a query on an aggregate on which a function is executed, it reads automatically the most current data.
How does this happens? Is this a filter that is automatically set on the aggregate?

How to fill a prompt in webi with current date?

A webi report is being generated on BEx Query.
IN BEx query variables are defined for some date fields to prefill them with current date.
Foe ex. there is license start date. For this field variable is defined so that in variable screen License start date is automatically filled with greater than or equal to current date(which is system date). WHich is a mandatory variable.
On BO side, a webi report is being developed on a Universe (based on this BEx query).
When the webi report is run, the license start date(mandatory variable in BEx) is automatically prompted, but date is not getting prefiiled with current date.
How to prefill this prompt with current date?
the prompt should be like
LIcense start date >= <current date>

Yes, it isn't possible to reference anything like 'Current Date' in the universe (like you would with a SQL data source).
The solution I have seen recently goes like this, I don't know the exact details (so I might have some terminology wrong), but someone with ABAP skills should get what I mean.
Assuming you want to filter on 0CALDAY.
In ABAP, create a customer EXIT that calculates the current date as a number (so today might be 40651). Do the same for 0CALDAY.
In the BEx create a formula variable that references each of those, then a Formula Key Figure (I forget the exact name of them) that's just the current day number minus the 0CALDAY number. This gives you the 'age' of that row of data.
Your Webi report can then have a built in filter (or prompt with a default value) of, say Age <= 30. The report can be scheduled and will always run with the last 30 day's data.
We actually did the customer exists to show the 'age' in months.
Sorry I can't explain it any better, but it's working great for us.

I have WEBI Report With Calendar Date (0CALDAY) Object on a OLAP Universe (OLAP Universe built on SAP BW BEx Query).
I need to create a prompt on Calendar Date Object with default value as Current date (systemdate). I need to create this at universe level not at BEx level (No Exceptions).

But EXIT Variable has a DEFAULT value in BEx Designer. DEFAULT Value (Current system Date) is populated when a BEx Query is Run. How come it is not properly reflected into BOBJ?. It retrieves the data for Current system Date in BOBJ too when WEBI Query is run but it does not show Current system Date in prompt screen.

my update to 10.3.1.1565 messed the handwriting input up on my phone. so I tried to downgrade to 10.2.1, upon doing so all my files were wiped, however I thought I was being smart by doing a complete backup this morning while running 10.3.1.1565 prior to attempting the os downgrade to 10.2.1 using BlackBerry Link,
Anyway I had to restore my device back to 10.3.1.1565 and now when I attempt to do a restore using the .bbb ( backup ) which I created earlier on today i.e getting the following error message:

the software versions on my phone now and the software version when I did my backup are exactly the same 10.3.1.1565. I'm able to restore my user files and apps ect, as it offers to do a partial restore,., but my contacts, and remember files are now gone. I NEED THESE. how do I get these back..

I figured it out. so I figured I would post. Apparently BlackBerry pulled the 10.3.1.1565 update. anway not sure what happened butI ended up usng Shenshi and grabbing an update from a different carrier, upon doing so I am now able to do a complete restore using my old BBB file,

Current Date in Olap Universe basead in Bex Query

Hi All!
I'm having some problems as the current date in the universe.
I need the report that runs in background and a filter has the current date, I mean current month and year. The universe is based on a query Bex, and the query have a variable with the current month and year.
I canu2019t filter int the query because it always bring the current month, and a only need that for a few reports, the others it gonna be filter by date choosen by the user.
To resolve this I made this filter:
<FILTER KEY="[0CALMONTH].[LEVEL01]">
<CONDITION OPERATORCONDITION="Equal">
<CONSTANT CAPTION ="Dec 2010"/>
</CONDITION>
</FILTER>
And to my surprise it worked!
I wonder if there is any way to make a filter with the current date dynamic?
I tried in the constant caption : "[0CALMONTH].CurrentMember" or "[0CALMONTH].DefaultMember", but didnu2019t work, the query returns blank. Is there any way to do this? Is there any variable that the BW understand that I want the current month and year?

Yes you could delete backups without loosing anything on your device, but iCloud storage has nothing to do with your local device capacity. I guess that your device is just full and that you have to delete something like apps, movies etc to free up some space for other content.
iCloud uses its storage only for
Photos and videos in the Camera Roll
Device settings (for example: Phone Favorites, Wallpaper, and Mail, Contacts, Calendar accounts)
App data
Home screen and app organization
Messages (iMessage, SMS, and MMS)
Ringtones
Visual Voicemails
purchases of apps, music, videos do not count against your iCloud storage capacity ( but please see also iCloud backup and restore overview http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4859).
