Current day not highlighted in month view!

after updating to: OS X 10.4.9, the current day is not highlighted in the calendar view in ical. the current day is highlighted in the day and week views, just not the month. I cant find any way of turning it on. Has anyone else had this problem after uptating the system OS to 10.4.9? any help would be appreciated. it is quite annoying.

I've found a solution to this problem that has been bugging me for months. As others have reported, the "today" highlight in iCal had disappeared. I also noticed a similar problem when using Gmail. Gmail highlights read mail with a blue background on the mail item in the main list. This also disappeared. Strangely, I would see both of these highlights reappear for a moment when I did fast user-switching to a different account. Just before the Mac would switch to another account, the screen would darken and those highlights would appear. This seemed to indicate that the problem wasn't with the applications but rather with the system.
Here's how I fixed this: I went to the Display system preferences. I selected the Color tab. THe display profile was Cinema Display. I selected another profile (in my case I chose Adobe RGB (1998)). Immediately, the missing highlights reappeared. I then reselected Cinema Display and the highlights remained (although slightly lighter).
Somehow, the display profile got changed enough to wash out those light blue highlights, but switching profiles brought them back.
This worked for me on my Apple Cinema LCD display. I don't know if this will work on another brand LCD display or on a CRT. But at least I've found a way to bring these highlights back. I'll be curious if this solves anyone else's problem.

  • Current date not highlighted in month view

I currently am using iCal 3.0.8 on OSX 10.5.8 on Intel. The current date is not highlighted in month view. It was highlighted on 10.4 on my G4.
Is this a new feature - or, am I missing a setting?

It's definitely highlighted, but it's just a much paler shade of blue than earlier versions of the operating system, so if you're looking at your screen from the wrong angle, it looks like nothing is highlighted at all. The only solution to this is to do what I did, which is switch to the OUTSTANDING calendar program BusyCal from busymac.com, which is like "iCal Pro". They got everything right about BusyCal that Apple should have gotten right themselves in iCal. The date highlighting is extremely visible. BusyCal syncs with iCal, so your data will instantly appear in BusyCal as soon as you open it for the first time. I've been using BusyCal for about 3 months now, and it is absolutely awesome. I will NEVER go back to iCal ever again. I can't say NEVER loud enough. Apple completely screwed up iCal, whereas the BusyMac guys got everything right about BusyCal.

  • Appointments lasting several days not displayed in month view?

    Hallo everybody,
unfortionally I frequntly have buisness trips, seminars or a long distance flight that lasts longer than a few hours within a day. These appointments often become a two or more days appointment. iCal is capable of displaying these appointments in a week view by coloring all affected days - perfect.
But why o why is that different in month view? Only the starting day is marked - and that's it. Of course you can click it to see the details but when I am choosing month view I want to have an overview!
Can anyone help? Am i am missing something or is month view still underdeveloped? Where can I make a feature request? (Actually that is more like a bug!?)
    Thanks for the help!

Try making the window a little bigger.  I think it truncates time for space.  I see time on mine.

  • Outlook 2010 appointments made on iPhone 4s not showing on monthly view

    Hello,
When I sync Outlook 2010 64-bit with the iPhone 4s, I am having a strange issue.  Appointments made on the iPhone show up in Outlook's calender on the daily and weekly view, but not on the monthly view.  Also, the little calender in Outlook usually show Bold dates on days that I have an appointment however with this little quirk, appointments made on the iphone and synced with Outlook do not cause the dates to be bold.  Somehow, appointments created on the iPhone and synced with Outlook 2010 show up on the daily and weekly view and are missing on the monthly view....HELP!!
    Thanks,
    BurningErn

I believe there are other issues going on as well. My music on my iphone 4s is still on the iphone and we are talking 20-30 gb's of music.  Itunes however does not recognize that it is on the phone. Other programs are having the same issue so i'm guessing something is up with 6.1

  • In ICal is there a way to see all of the text in all day events on the month view of the calendar.  Seems to wrap text only if there is a time on the event

The paths won't agree on the two OSs so a simple XML import isn't likely to work.
See Sync iPod/iPad/iPhone with two computers and, if needed, Make a split library portable. The techniques in the first link will work when moving the library between Windows and OS X as long as the library is "portable", but iTunes takes quite some time checking the database when the library is opened under a different OS.

  • Can SharePoint calendar show more than 3 items on a Day's schedule in Month view? How?

    Hi there,
Can SharePoint calendar show more than 3 items on a Day's schedule in Month view? How?
    Thank you so much.

    Hi,
From your description, my understanding is that you want to expand all items if a Day’s schedule has more than 3 items.
You could accomplish your requirement with jQuery to auto expand all items when you load month view, please refer to this article:
Auto Expand Month View on SharePoint 2013 Calendar
    http://blog.eastridge.net/auto-expand-month-view-on-sharepoint-2013-calendar
If I misunderstand your requirement, please provide more detailed information.

  • Why multi day events are shown only on the first day in calendar (in month view)

Why multi day events are shown only on the first day in calendar (in month view)?

Figured it out - the event has to be marked as full day event in order to be shown in monthly calendar. Disregard my question.

  • All day event not appearing in month view

If I know there is an all day event on a day and I click into it from month view it is there. But for some reason I cannot see any of them from moth view. There is no colored or gray bar indicating an event.
There is one in week view. And if there is a timed event it appears in month view.
In a separate, and puzzling, event I lost all my events. Putting them back in, but not sure if this happened with 1.4 or new Facebook update.

There is an old thread on this issue. Its by design that all day events do not show up in month view and not a bug. Many users (myself included) would like this to change. I suggest using the feedback and feature request page to let them know.

  • Multiple (not full) day events displaying in monthly view

If I have an event that starts on 8:00 AM on Tuesday, and ends on 5:00 PM on Wednesday, It won't display in monthly view on Wednesday in iCal. It looks as though I have nothing scheduled on Wednesday.
Is this "feature" something that Apple is working to eliminate?

    Ramone4130,
The first and easiest troubleshooting step involves replacing/refreshing the com.apple.iCal.plist file.
Quit iCal and find the com.apple.iCal.plist file in your Macintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Library/Preferences Folder. Drag the file to your Desktop, log out/in or restart and check iCal for normal behavior.

  • Help: event times not printing in month view

... and yes, I have checked "show time in month view" in preferences, and the event times display on the screen. But on the monthly printout, the times do not appear, only ellipses where the time should be. There should be plenty of space for the information to print, there is white space both at the end of the event line and in the day box. But no times show up at all.
System data: Mac Mini, OS X 10.4.2, iCal 2.0.3 (1055), Brother MFC 7820N printer.
This is really awful... I just switched my wife over to the Mac Mini, and calendaring is a big part of what she needs. And she uses month views a lot. If I can't fix this, she'll probably throw the Mac Mini back in my face and I'll be sleeping on the couch. Yes, she cares that much about times printing in month views.
Mac Mini   Mac OS X (10.4.3)

I don't know whether this a "solution" or a work-around, but I did find a way to resolve this problem. I recently started using iCal by transferring appointments from a BlackBerry using the BlackBerry PocketMac software. Although all of the appointment times appeared on the monthly calendar, most of the appointment times were replaced by ellipses when the monthly calendar was printed. It turns out that the times would print only after re-entering the appointment manually. This had to be done completely from scratch, i.e., not by editing the original appointment, or by cutting and pasting the appointment back into the calendar. This is a complete pain, but seems to work. I'd love to hear a better solution...

  • ICal events not showing on month view

    Hi everyone,
I have been facing a strange problem with iCal: some events (random), despite they sync fine with my gcal, will appear only in day or week view, never in month view. This is extremely annoyning as one can miss an appointment or book two meetings at the same time. Anybody got this problem and found/know a solution to this? Thanks a lot
macbook pro, lion 10.7.2 iCal 5.0.1

    Hi again:
I just found out a simple solution for this issue. The problem is certainly an iCal bug and hopefully this will be fixed soon.
So, I just clicked on iCal preferences, set up monday as the starting day of the week and voila! The events are just there!
However, if you set it back for Sunday, events will be hidden again. Let's wait for this fix.
    Cheers.

  • Times of events not shown in month view

I'm thinking about using iCal instead of the calendar i've been using, but I find that it has what seems to be a serious drawback: In the month view, the times of the events are not listed. How do you deal with this? Does it present a problem?

    Hi John,
You should be able to set iCal so you can see the start times in month view. I can't remember exactly what it says in 10.3, but go to the iCal menu then Preferences and it should be in there.
    Best wishes

  • Multiple day events showing on month view

Hi, Anyone know how to make events that span multiple days show up on the monthly view? In week view it will color all of the days, on monthly it is only listing it on the first day of the event. The only way I've gotten it to go across is if it is listed as an "all day event", but then the start and stop times dont show.
    Thanks for the help!

You either need to use the "All Day Event" option or make copies of each invididual event.
E.g., if you are at a 3 day convention and each day the program is from 8 am to 3 pm, first create a single event that has those start/stop times. Then manually copy that event for the other 2 days. Each event will show up in month view (and you could probably change the event name to "Day 1", "Day 2" etc.).
FWIW, I would just use the "All Day Event" option for those kind of events.

  • Calendar - March 2013 not viewable in monthly view

Calendar crashes if I attempt to view March 2013 when in month view. Can see individual weeks but this is very inconvenient,
Other iPad users confirm same for them.
    Any help

Try removing any all-day events from the calendar for the 1st April 2013 e.g. if you are syncing the calendar from somewhere else (e.g. Outlook on a PC or iCal/Calendar on a Mac) then change it to a timed event instead of all-day - it seems that there is a problem with all day events on that date which is when the clocks change due to daylight saving.

  • Why are times not displayed in Monthly view of iCalendar?

After the last update, the times for events in the monthly view in Calendar are no longer displayed? I have checked preferences and cannot find how to get this back. It did before and I used it for my office for appointments and I need the times displayed. Does anyone have a suggestion?

Try making the window a little bigger.  I think it truncates time for space.  I see time on mine.
