Current level on runtime discoverer

Hi,
Can I Know the current level in a specific atribute/hierarqy at runtime in a discoverer crosstab?
Is there any variable or metadata availuble?

Row level security in discoverer desktop

currently, I have designed a business area on one of my star schema, and I created several other business area in order to allow different level of users to view the pre-defined reports on discoverer desktop. and I want different users to view different data from my star schema tables. So I created some criteria on those business area.
e.g. condition on bus_area1 : sales_manager="man01",
condition on bus_area2 : sales_manager="man02"
in short, i want to enable record level security by using discoverer's conditions.
but unfortunately, even I un-checked "Create/Edit Query" privileges on discoverer administrator for those users, they still can modify the worksheet. So they can just remove my condition and to view data that they shouldnot be able to see..
can any one tell me how to solve this problem, or how to do row level security in discoverer?
What can I do if I want to disable "edit worksheet" in discoverer desktop from users??

Marco,
Probably the best way to achieve row-level security is to upgrade to 9.0.4.1 and take advantage of the new functionality of Discoverer to pass the SSO user to the DB query. You would apply Oracle Fine Grained Security/VPD/striping on the DB tables using a policy based on SSO userid. Then using Disco 9.0.4.1 the user would see only the data they are privileged to see. However this works only in a web environment (Discoverer Plus, Viewer and Portlets) not for Desktop.

Formula "At Current Level"

Is there a concept in Crystal to have it calculate a formula "at the current grouping level". In our report we have several formulas that calculate a number of statistics. The report has a sum for the fields at each group level and then uses those sums to calculate the formulas. However since this sum field is different, or at least has a different name at each group level, we have to create a copy of the formula for every level of the report we want it to appear at (Group 1, Group 2, Grand Total,etc.)Is there any way in Crystal to tell a formula to calculate "At the current level". This way we could have one copy of the formula that would just plug inthe total field for the current group it is working in.This obviously is a really pressing issue since we can fix it by just having multiple copies of the formula, however it would be nice to not have to modify each one or create new ones each time the grouping is changed. I hope this made sense, it was the only way I could come up with to explain it.Thanks,matt

what you've described it not feasible or a way to calculate to begin withthe sum/count/etc at a particular grouping will differ at each group level for the exact reason that you are grouping to begin witheach group level represents a distinct break in the dataif you are using crystal reports xi release 2 you can use the insert summary into all levels to speed things upbut if you are doing a statistical calculation at each level you will need to evaluate it at each group level

Get the current pageno at runtime in Report 6i

I wish to know how can i get the current pageno at runtime in report 6i ,
i want to display data at end page of the report on a condition that it is the last page of the report. i can get the last page but not the current page no at runtime.

Take a look into SRW.GET_PAGE_NUM. You can use this in format trigger and It will return you current page number.

Keithley 6220 trying to use "Set Current Level.vi"

Hi,
I am trying to use the "Set Current Level.vi" given by Keithley. But the VI isn't working. When I enter a current level the output stays zero. Only the decimal point and the current range are set correct. I tried to locate the problem, but I am new in LabVIEW and can't find it.
for example, when i enter 10.000mA the output is 00,000mA
Can someone help me please?

The problem is you don't understand what you are setting. The 6220 us a current source and so it has no control over how much current an external sink draws. That is a function is the DC characteristics of the external circuitry.
All the 6220 can control is how much current it will allow the circuit to draw before it goes into current limiting. What you are setting is a limit so you won't see a difference unless your circuitry starts bumping up against it.
By the way in general there are two possible responses to an over current condition. The source can crowbar, which means it turns off the output, or it can go into current limiting where is starts dropping the output voltage until the current limit is reached.

Change log level at runtime

Is there any way to change a logger's level at runtime?
I would like to change between INFO and DEBUG on some features I'm working on without restarting Kura.

I know this feature has been added again, but its accessible only through OSGi console. I developed a simple web interface to change log levels at runtime.
I uploaded the project on my github page. It compiles with Maven 3.0.5 as deployment package, you can install it on any running kura instance.
I find it very useful when developing/debugging, hope it may help someone else.

Current level?

Is there a way to detect the current level in flash in order

Abort during hardware write leaves NI 9263 at current level

When an abort is performed on an AO NI 9263 the current level output is kept until the program is completely shut down and then restarted. Is there a way to trap the Abort and do azero level write to the hardware then abort?

No. This is why the abort button should only be used as a last resort.

Using JConsole to Change Logger Level at runtime

Is it possible to use JConsole to change Java's Logger logging level at runtime?
If so could someone tell me how I could go about doing this?

This is the error iam getting in RSA1 for Heirarichal orgunit: So data load is failing.
EDI: Syntax error in IDoc (segment cannot be identified)
Message no. E0078
Diagnosis
The segment E1RSHND does not occur at the current level of the basic type ZSPB007 (extension ).
This error can have several reasons:
The segment E1RSHND is assigned to a group whose header segment does not occur.
The segment E1RSHND does not exist in the syntax description of the basic type ZSPB007 (extension ).
The sequence of segments in the group in which the segment appears is incorrect.
Previous errors ('mandatory' segment or group missing) may be due to this error.
Procedure
Please check the IDoc or the syntax description of the basic type ZSPB007 (extension ).

i reprocessed the Idoc in BD87 and now the status is 51. Error message in RSA1 is as follows
Function module not allowed: RSAR_DATA_RECEIVED
Message no. B1252
Diagnosis
The function module RSAR_DATA_RECEIVED and the application object type which were determined are not valid for this IDoc.
Procedure
1. Please check that the process code in the inbound partner profile is correct.
2. If this is the case, you should check the ALE inbound methods ALE inbound methods for the process code and see whether the specified function module and application object type are correct.
3. If this is also the case, then the function module and the application object type are not permitted for the logical message type, message variant, message function and basis type that are contained in the IDoc control record. You should check whether the correct values have been assigned to these fields in the control record. If they do have the correct values, then the assignment to the function module and the application object type needs to be maintained.

Problem Upgrading Kernel to he Current Level for ECC 6 V5R4M0 OS/400

Hello,
I am having problem upgrading my ECC 6.0 kernel to the current level (236), the steps I have done is
1) downloaded and copied following kernel fix to tmp folder under rootbin.
APYR3FIX.SAR,APYSAP.SAR,LODSAPKRN.SAR
2) Apply the above fix using following command
- APYR3FIX SID(SID) SAVF(R3FIX700U/APYR3FIX) SAVLIB(GEN700UOPT) KRNLIB(SAPSIDUC)
- APYR3FIX SID(SID) SAVF(R3FIX700U/APYSAP) SAVLIB(GEN700UOPT) KRNLIB(SAPSIDUC)
- APYR3FIX SID(SID) SAVF(R3FIX700U/LODSAPKRN) SAVLIB(GEN700UOPT) KRNLIB(SAPSIDUC)
Started applying new kernel
1) Copy sapexe.sar and sapexedb.sar into tmp folder i.e kern under rootbin.
2) created one file using notepad called parts ( w/o extension)
parts file having following content.
SAPEXE.SAR,
SAPEXEDB.SAR,
3) copied parts file into tmp folder.
4) Create new kernel library like SAPSIDUKRN using following command.
- CRTLIB LIB(SAPSIDUKRN)
5) Apply latest kernel to newly created kernel library using following command.
- LODSAPKRN DEV(STMF) MNTPNT('/tmp') KRNLIB(SAPSIDUKRN) USERDEF(YES) LIST('/tmp/parts')
When i run the command it says successfully completed, but no files are present in the newly created kernel. please guide me on how to proceed with this.

From reading your description I wonder if you simply mixed up directory names. In step 1) of the kernel load you mentioned directory kernel below rootbin. In the command you reference directory /tmp. Although LODSAPKRN should complain if any of the given objects is missing it might worth checking.
However, did you recognize there is a new option USERDEF(FLAT) available with the latest version (246) of LODSAKRN? This option is supposed to allow standard SAPEXE+SAPEXEDB packages being imported without having to provide the parts file. Check note 912575 if you are interested - english version should be getting updated today.

CFP-AO-200 only puts out max current level 4.3mA

cFP-AO-200 only puts out max current level 4.3mA using fieldpoint explorer. The load is 350 ohms resistor.

What is the voltage level of the external power supply you are using? The FP-AO-200 and cFP-AO-200 output load drive capability is based upon the voltage of the external supply that you are using. They each have an internal 3 volt drop. You can use V=I*R to determine the load drive capability. For example, with a 5 volt external supply, you have the 3 volt drop, so 2 Volts/ 21 mA = 95 Ohm load maximum. With a 24 V supply, you can drive the maximum rated load of 1000 Ohms. For a 350 Ohm load, you will need a minimum of a 10.5 Volt supply.

How to implement row-level security in Discoverer?

Dear all,
I have a scenario that I have 2 folders containing sales and inventory data stored by product lines.
The 2 folders are constructed by 2 SQL statements.
There exists a set of tables controlling which product line's sales and inventory data a person can read.
A function is written previously that returns the WHERE clause based on user_id, employee_id and the other parameter.
So, can you suggest how to integrate the 2 components in Discoverer?

I have a view BUDGET_V with the following columns:

Every salesman can only read the budget amount of certain product lines.
I built the security function which will be binded to the view BUDGET_V (see below)

The security function actually calls my own security function viewProductLine(FND_GLOBAL.USER_ID, FND_GLOBAL.EMPLOYEE_ID, 'BUDGET_V.PRODUCT_LINE') which take the user id and employee id of the apps user and returns the predicate.
Then, I bind the security function security_policy_function() to the view BUDGET_V with

I try to verify whether the security function work or not. So, I hardcoded FND_GLOBAL.USER_ID and FND_GLOBAL.EMPLOYEE_ID as 1234 and 6789 which are the user_id and employee_id of user "A". (see below)

User level privileges to discoverer reports

Hi All,
I am facing a very strange problem.
One of my users is running a discoverer report. He complains that he cannot see a particular row.
When I open the report with the same responsibility but using my user name, I can see that row.
Does it depend on the user name? Is it because, I am using the 'Owner Name' ?
I know that we can set the privileges at responsibility level...but can we set them at user level?
I will appreciate any idea/solutions on this.

Sounds like the view it's accessing at the database level has security built-in (as Rod alluded to).
Is it a BIS view (ie: prefix is something like: xxFG_ (like ARFG_ or GLFG_))? If so, view security could well be the situation.
Alternatively, the only way you could see 'more' info in the report if it wasn't a database level view thing, VPD, etc., would be that your Oracle Apps username in the EUL had more 'power' than his. Discoverer will connect an Apps user with their Oracle Apps name and / or responsibility AND always take the method that gives the connectee with the most 'power'. That's why I always recommend to only set privs, security, and report sharing with responsibilities and not Oracle Apps usernames.
