Current Mac OS - HP Deskjet F2400 series printer not printing but scanning

Hi
Ever since I have updated my Mac OS on the iMac, I can still scan to my HP Deskjet F2400 series printer, but it refuses to print anymore.
I have looked for drivers for the printer but couldn't find any suitable. Any advice please?
Thanks in advance.

My hp deskjet 1510 series does not print when connected to my hp lap top (windows Vista), it says the printer is not active, although it is default printer, connected and on. However, it does work when connected to the (also HP) lap top (windows 8) of my husband.  I did everything the hp print and scan doctor advised and also what I could find at HP support (like switch of fire walls, reinstall everything, check printpooler ec etc)... it still does nothing except that I managed to print a diagnostic print which should give information about the condition,  but it only gives numbers and letters like : 11. SN = [Edited for Personal Information] Yr  12 PER = 05YR etc, that does not really help me :-). It won't print any testpages.  H E L P!!!

    Hello Elisabeeth,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand you're unable to print using the Deskjet 1510. I will do my best to assist you! When you reinstall the HP software, did the installation state it was complete?
I would start off by following this HP document on 'Printer is offline' Message Displays on the Computer and the Printer Will Not Print. From this document, please make sure you check the connection type and the ports.
Please post your results, as I will be looking forward to hearing from you.

  • HP Deskjet 900 series, 2 sided printing attachment driver

I'm still using a Deskjet 952c series because it prints beautifully. I had a 970Cse which came with the 2-sided printing attachment. It died but the attachment is still fully functional, and it fits the 952. Is there a driver just for the attachment or a 952c driver that includes the attachment? I've had absolutely no problem using the XP driver with Windows 7 32bit.

The duplex printing attachment must be enabled in the driver as shown in the Vista/Windows 7 Duplex Printing Troubleshooting Guide here.

  • HP deskjet D2300 series driver not working in windows 7

This procedure is much too complicated for an average user. You know that millions of Wondow XP users are switching to Windows 7. I' sure that most of them are facing similar problems. HP should come with a user friendly solution that solves the above issues. Don't you think?
    My problem remains unsolved.

    Hi dvh,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I see that your HP Deskjet D2300 series driver not working in windows 7.
Do you see any error messages with the installer? Or does it just close out and doesn't install?
In the meantime, please try using our HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows.
Hope to hear back from you, and have a great day!

I bought the Deskjet 1514 on 19/07/15 and installed it on my relatively new laptop. It worked ok, then I did the Windows 10 upgrade on 01/08/15. I installed the updated drivers from HP for this device. What ever I do, (have uninstalled software, reinstalled at least 4 times, used the scan doctor, swapped USB cables and ports, cleaned the disk...) I just get the message The HP Deskjet 1510 series was not found, yet when aligning the ink cartridges the scanner will work but I cannot do the test scan in the scan doctor or scan anything using the HP software (which you have to do as there is no proper control panel on the actual device). As bought the device primarily as a scanner, I am not happy and just want the thing to work but haven't a clue how to proceed except to take the thing back to Tesco and get a refund and buy a Canon instead... Please can anyone help as the HP support is useless? The printer part is working fine, which makes it ridiculous.

  • Printer not printing AND Matching Screen colors to Print colors.  Any advice is apreciated!!

Hello - I have 2 questions regarding  printing to an Epson and also regarding the monitor colors Not matching the print colors working from Photoshop CS4 on a Mac with a Maverick [ 10.9.3 ] OS. My issues are Not about my own printers or software.  I have been tutoring a friend via phone in Photoshop; he has CS4 and is working on Mac OS 10.9.3.
1- We found that he could print nearly fine [ nearly accurate colors ] from Lightroom on his computer, version 5.4.   But when he tries to print from Photoshop he cannot make a print.   There is clear communication between the computer and the printer, as, when he sent the file to print, the printer [ an Epson 3880 ] responded by automatically changing to Photo Black from Matte.  Then, it opens the rollers as if to print, but, it them stops and the menu [ on the Printer ] says 'Ready.'   The paper is 4x6” Moab Lasal paper 300gsm. This issue of Not printing is only with this Moab Lasal luster paper, for which he Does have the IIC profile, and we always make sure ‘Photoshop manages colors,’ not the printer. To address the issue of the printer Not printing at all using a non-Epson brand paper, we have tried seemingly everything from deleting and re-adding the printer from the Library / Printers, resetting everything [ printer   computer   software etc ], trying different settings in the Printer window and the Print Settings window. Including changing the media profile, platen gap, etc.
2- My other and more important question is – after we Do get a print, we cannot match the monitor color to the print. [ We havE been able to get a print using Epson brand paper.   Which is odd because we have the ICC profiles for both papers ]. To address the color matching issue, he has told me he calibrated the monitor with a Spyder, and here are a few other variables that I can relay that may or may not be affecting his color-issues:
He iS viewing his prints in a dayliglht-rated lighting environment
The monitor is an iMac glossy finish monitor, not an anti-glare
We tried working and printing from both an 8-bit and also a 16-bit color-space and also 16-bit printing
The color shift is slightly but noticeably toward Magenta.
    His printer is Not calibrated
Please let me know what else we can do, any known glitches that may be an issue with his older version of CS, any tips you can suggest.
    Thanks very much!

I don't have that printer and I'm not on Mac, so someone else has to step in there. Generally a green/magenta cast indicates none/double printer color management. But then I don't know what you mean by "slight".
The Spyders aren't the most consistent and reliable calibrators out there. I had a Spyder 3 sensor that I just threw away because it gave a distinct red cast (I have several other calibrators, so there was no doubt). Another potential problem is that with most calibrators you can only adjust the white point along the blue/yellow Kelvin scale, but not on the green/magenta scale. This is often necessary to get a good white point color. In this case you need to use the monitor's OSD controls, and if possible the "pre-calibration" function in the calibrator to measure and monitor it - if that function exists. And I don't know if this is possible with an iMac.
This is basically a question of getting the white point right, both on the blue/yellow and the green/magenta axis (and luminance of course). The goal is to get a visual match to paper white on screen. With the white point properly set, neutral color balance relates to that, and the rest more or less follows by itself. (In addition you should set the proper black point/contrast for full control, but that's not the issue here).

  • 6510 all in one photosmart printer - not printing black and/or not at all after 7/22/15 update....

Printer not printing in black at all, poor color print since 7/22/15. I have downloaded drivers and software, hard reset the printer (power cord out and unplugged then plugged all back in), read all the forums, watched youtube videos, called friends, googled answers, bought new ink (waste of money), cleaned print head multiple times, did every step on every forum post to no avail...  Bought a new printer but really would rather return it and get my money back after getting this printer up and running again- why because I think the problem is due to HP and the new update released 7/22/15! I'm very upset, I have spent countless hours attempting to fix this printer (which I really do love up until now).  I have lost credit on school assignments due to printing issues, wasted money on ink (that is really expensive) and wasted the ink trying to fix it running test page after test page.  I feel like this is not fair to the consumer and I am very upset.  I am ready to throw this thing in the street and smash it to pieces with a baseball bat at this point.  I really would rather fix it but apparently this is the only way to contact someone.  I have had this printer for 3 years and do not think I need to replace it or spend money to call someone from HP to fix it nor do I feel like I need to have it "serviced", nor do I wish to waste any futher time or money on the expensive ink this printer requires.

  • Hp deskjet 1510 series won't print

We mloved recently to  la Gomera (Canarian isle)  and there I bought a hp deskjet 1510. It won't print when connected to my lap top, also HP with Windows vista, although it is connected, is on, and is the default printer. I tried everything the print and scan doctor suggested (like switch off fire wall, chekc print ooler, remove and reinstall driver and software  etc) and everything else I found in support from HP. it still does not print. When connected to our other lap top, also HP but with windows 7, it works fine. The only thing I managed to print is a diagnostic page but it give only numbers and letters like SN = CN39a19mmp05yr 21 PG =81 12 PER = -5yr 22 FB = 0/0 etc. Tjat does nog help me :-(.  does anybody know how to solve this?

  • HP Deskjet 3510 Series (3512) only printing in black and yellow.

    Hello.
My HP Deskjet 3510 recently ran out of ink (or so I thought.)  I purchased new 61xl color and black cartridges and replaced them.  However, the printer is only printing in black or yellow.  I am unable to get any red, blue, or grayscale.
I have cleaned the printer heads several times, and alligned the printer several times but this has not helped the problem.
I am looking for any suggestions on what I can do to get my printer working once again.
    Thank you.
    Sara C.

Hello @sarajo0531 , and welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I see you're running into print output issues.  I would like to help!
I'd start by removing the ink cartridges, and performing a power reset on the printer.  Disconnect the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug the printer back in. Ensure you plug the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any sort of surge protector or power bar.
I would then suggest following the steps laid out in this document:

  • Why is my printer NOT printing colour from my new mac?

I downloaded the HP driver, but it didn't seem to do anything.
The test page printed in colour, but no document will print in colour and I don't see an option in settings to print in colour.
And yes it is a newish cartridge, so there is ink in it.
My old mac didn't seem to have a problem with this.
How do I print in colour from my new mac?

Have you installed the driver from the link I posted? Have you set up the printer from System Preferences>Print & Scan selecting your printer? There is a symbol next to your printer which would indicate not.
You do not indicate what OS is running on your MBP.

  • HP Deskjet 3510 black in not printing

Hi everyone!  My son was given this printer (new) from his cyber school.  We set it up (it came with the HP ink already) and it doesn't print in black ink.  Actually, when I first tried to print something it came out what I'm guessing is grayscale. So I went into advanced properties and put in black ink only.  I didn't see a color option?
Okay so I put it on that and try to print and it doesn't print at all.  Suggestions?

Hello Dragonomine! Welcome to the forums
