Current position of Cursor in TextEdit Element

Hi
I would like to know how can i determine the current position of the cursor in general.
I would also like to know the current position of the cursor in textedit element.
Regards
Piyush

I checked the property, but it does not fulfill my requirement.
What i want is:
There is a view with several textedit/input elements, say A,B,C....n
There is a Helper Function Button, But.
Now when the user clicks on the button, i need to add a text, 'HELLO' in the element where the cursor is currently positioned.
So in other words, the focused element will be appended by text 'HELLO'...
So if i can find out the focused element, then i can append the text.
Now my question is how do i find out the focused element in the view.

Piyush

  • Utilizing the cursor's current position in an action?

I had hoped this would be an easy thing to achieve but I have yet to find a solution after searching for many hours. Basically I want to use the current position of the cursor as a variable in an action, rather than the exact XY coordinates as recorded during the making of the action. More specifically I want to bucket fill a particular part of the image based on where my mouse is at the time of executing the action.
Any ideas? And with something this simple, would I even need to use a script? Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hello there,
I'm also facing the same problem...

  • Consistant Scrolling position between cursor keys and mouse - how to do it??

When I read with Adobe Reader, I often use the mouse on my laptop and scroll the pages down with the scrollbar and then become engrossed  in reading the article.
Being engrossed, however, I also sometimes press the cursor down key, with the expectation that it will scroll the page down from the current position I am reading from.
Unfortunately it jumps to whereever it was 50 or so pages before, or to the start and I have to mess around trying to find my place.
It's deeply, deeply irritating and slows down my reading significantly.
I have read all the Adobe reader help and settings, but cannot find anywhere I can change this behavour. I
Anyone else affected by this and if so how did you overcome it?

I shoud be clearer and say that it jumps to wherever the cursor was last placed by the cursor keys.
Can't believe its just me who has this problem....

  • How to maintain position of cursor while in split screen view?

When I'm in split screen view, how do I position the cursor at a specific point on the code side and then shift focus to the design side without relocating the cursor?

Sorry, but the key phrase I used was "shows up". If you can't see it, you don't feel comfortable that it IS where you want it to be.
Sure it works the way you said, but the comfort level of seeing it in the right place is missing.
Another way of positioning elements in relation to tags is to use the Tag Selector at the bottom of your Document Window. Click the tag name in the Tag Selector, and the entire Tag and contents is highlighted. Then either strike the left arrow (to go before the tag) or the right arrow (to go after the tag), and you will be precisely positioned vis-a-vis the tag.

  • Stepper motor 8SMC1-USBhF and power meter PM100D: how to merge the two VIs into one and make a XY graph of the current position and the power

    Hi there,
I have a stepper motor (8SMC1-USBhF) and a power meter (PM100D). I want to measure the power while the stepper motor is moving, and obtain an XY graph with the current position on x axis and the power on y axis. So I just merged the two VIs together by copying and pasting, and created local variables for current position and readout value, and changed them to read, and then linked them to the XY graph, but apparently it doesnt work.
So could you please instruct me how to merge them and obtain an XY graph appropriately?
    Attached are the two VIs.
    Thank you!

    Hello,
The XY graph requires that each datapoint on the X axis corresponds to a datapoint on the Y axis.  To create XY data you will need to creat two arrays of X data and Y data with the same amount of elements then cluster the two arrays together to wire into the XY graph.  As an example take a look at the VI snippet below.  Is there a specific error being thrown?

  • How to position the cursor in a text

I there a better way to position the cursor in a text portion other than trying it several times until the OS picks the right space? I know the iPad has a good way to do it by zooming in.
Or is RIM working on it.....

I've been pretty successful at getting the cursor to hit where I want in text entry boxes.
Maybe some more practice will make perfect. Worked for me, until I got used to,and then again maybe my using a touchscreen smartphone, the process just comes second nature for me.

Is there anyone there? I hope there is someone who can you understand this problem and have the common sense to respond?
I open gmail. I want to save an email to one of my folders.
I position my cursor over the appropriate Folder icon or by choice, to the Trash.
The friendly finger pointing cursor icon changes to an arrow icon.
The hand icon allows me flawless access to opening and/or moving emails.
The arrow, however does not open the link.
On the Google menu bar the cursor hand with finger opens the links to Everett (my name), Search, Images, Maps and Play.
When I attempt to open the remaining links in the menu bar (YouTube, News, Gmail, Drive, Calendar and More) the arrow icon replaces the hand. The arrow icon does not work. It will not activate these links.  Nor does it open email messages in the Inbox.
Usually I reset, even reboot Safire and sometimes the problem goes away, then reappears.
Can you imagine if this condition should it happen to a tech savvy Google Support person? Perhaps one can share and make my problem go away.
I am considering dropping Google as my mail source. Unfortunate!

  • Fix for broken tool cursors in PS Elements 7 with Windows 8.1?

I have Photoshop Elements 7 and have been perfectly happy with it for editing photos/images as a hobby on my older Windows XP and Windows 7 PCs. I have no real need to upgrade to Photoshop Elements 12. I just installed  Windows 8.1 on my new Surface Pro and now all the tool cursors in PS Elements 7 are broken. Reinstalling PS Elements 7 did not work. All the  tools which use an actual graphic for a cursor appear distorted. What can I do to fix this?

Generally that's caused by the system dpi scaling
    (the triple cursor effect)
Go to Control Panel>Appearance and Personalization>Make text and other items larger or smaller
Then try adjusting the size to Smaller
You might have to use Let me choose one scaling level for all my displays and use the Custom sizing options and choose something like 124% or 149%

In the documentation it says that passing a ' X' to him in the field scrollend of the parameter Control is obtained that operation. Nevertheless, I did this and the cursor continues appearing at the beginning of the text that visualizes.

  • Why is my BDC_CURSOR command not working to position the cursor?

Why is my BDC_CURSOR command not working to position the cursor?  Here are the details regarding my issue.

    Thank you for your reply.
I had used SM35 to record.  However, I was not aware of the "create program" feature.  I had commented out a section from my previous post which I have now added back (latest code below).  But it still did not resolve the issue.
When I execute with dismode = 'N', I get back error message "No batch input data for screen SAPLCZDI 1010".
When I execute with dismode = 'E' (only show dynpros when error), it stops at the material selection screen without placing my cursor in the list.  I can then MANUALLY click to set the cursor position in the list, MANUALLY click the trashcan, it then uses my BDC command to respond to the popup asking "Do you want to delete", still leaving me at the material selection screen.  I can then MANUALLY click the green check (or enter), then it continues with the BDC to go back to the previous screen, and saves.  But it still will not place my cursor in the material selection list (SAPLCZDI screen 1010).
Here is code used.  It is the second section of code labeled "CA02 Material Assignment - Delete" that is not working.
CA02 Material Assignment - Set position
this code functions to position the desired material to first in screen list
      PERFORM bdc_dynpro      USING 'SAPLCZDI' '1010'.
      PERFORM bdc_field       USING 'BDC_CURSOR'
                                    'RC27X-ENTRY_ACT'.

Once you get the GPS Lock (The Red Dot stops flashing..) and start Navigation.. you will see your Location ( a small arrow ) on the map moving as you travel..

  • Position the cursor at the top of the JTextArea?

How do you position the cursor or document at the top of the JTextArea. When I set the JTextArea to some text that exceeds the JTextArea ScrollPane it scrolls to the bottom of the document. How do you position the document to the top of the JTextArea?
