Current state of photoshop plug-ins for Intel?
The good news (I guess) is that CS3 is now Universal. A reason to send a large chunk of money to Adobe.
Bad news seems to be that every plug-in I've looked at so far is not available for Intel OS-X. (Admittedly I've only looked at a few like FocusMagic and FocusFixer -- but I'm detecting a theme.)
What are Intel Mac users doing for PhotoshopCS3-compatible plug-ins?
If you go to the following site you will get much of the information you need as well as some useful tools. Some of the downloads will also come will a plain text document with instructions on how to install plug-ins.

Photoshop plug-ins for photo CD files
How can I dowload the Photoshop CS6 plub-in for photo CD files? There was nont in the photoshop flug-ins folder.
Hi Hayes,
That plugin was discontinued for photoshop several versions back, but depending on your operating system, you might find some useful info in the following threads:
http://forums.adobe.com/message/4719683#4719683
http://forums.adobe.com/message/3137550#3137550

If you still have an older version of photoshop that has that plugin, then using that version of photoshop would probably be the way to go. -
3rd party plug-ins for Intel upgrade
anyone know how 3rd party companies will deal with the intel cross-over??
will there be only a small xgrade fee or have to buy the complete new software at the full price?I'd be surprised if any companies don't offer an upgrade.
Native Instruments estimates about $29 per plug. Spectrasonics already has a free public beta of Stylus RMX. -
Photoshop plug-ins for Final Cut?
Is there a way to import Photoshop filters into Final Cut Pro?
You can, however, export an image sequence, run a photoshop filter droplet on it, and reimport that image sequence to get the same effect...

Installing Optional Plug-ins for Photoshop CS5
I have downloaded the Optional Plug-ins for Photoshop CS5 but when I double click on the zxp file I get a message:
"There is no application set to open the document “CS5 Optional Automate Plug-ins.zxp”.
I have tried selecting "choose application" in the same message window and navigating to Applications>Utilities>Adobe Installers but the only option there is greyed out.
I am using Mac OS 10.6.8.
Any suggestions appreciated!

Can one develop plug-ins for Photoshop Touch?
I have a few Plug-ins for Photoshop CS, can I develop plug-ins for Photoshop Touch for Tablets?
I would love for there to be a way of using my favorite plug-ins within PS Touch but I imagine that's a little more complicated than using the standard 8BF plug-in standby.

Microsoft HD Photo Plug-ins for Photoshop are Released
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hd_Photo
"HD Photo has been announced by Microsoft and the Joint Photographic Experts Group to be under consideration for a JPEG standard, tentatively titled JPEG XR.
"The HD Photo bitstream specification claims that "HD Photo offers image quality comparable to JPEG-2000 with computational and memory performance more closely comparable to JPEG", that it "delivers a lossy compressed image of better perceptive quality than JPEG at less than half the file size", and that "lossless compressed images are typically 2.5 times smaller than the original uncompressed data".

"HD Photo plug-ins for Adobe® Photoshop® CS2 and CS3 have been officially released for both Windows and OSX. They're available now from the Microsoft Download Center. [Links on this webpage]
"The Windows version is supported on Windows XP and Windows Vista, and works with Photoshop CS2 and CS3. While not officially supported, it will also work with limited features with older versions of Photoshop and with Photoshop Elements. The included README file has details.
For PSE6, I installed it to
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 6.0\Plug-Ins\HD Photo Plugin for Adobe Photoshop\
It works properly, as far as I can tell, for both Opening and Saving.
File size and processing speed seem consistent with the claims for the format. On Sun, 3 Feb 2008 15:38:40 -0800, [email protected] wrote in

Regular JPEG is capable of high definition (size) images.
The "HD" in "HD Photo" is a reference to the fact that the bit depth can
greatly exceed the 8-bit limitation of regular JPEG. That's primarily
of value in high-quality photo editing, and for archiving originals.

DVD player upconversion is no better than the upconversion built-in to
any decent HD TV; i.e., it's mostly just marketing hype.

Be careful to check for compatibility, you need to check whether a plug-in works with the version of Photoshop you purchased/subscribed to.

How can I add my software in Adobe's Third-party plug-ins for Adobe Premiere Pro ?
Hi,
Our company have a software called Moyea Importer for Adobe Premiere.
Moyea Importer for Adobe Premiere is a recommended FLV, MPG, RMVB, HD video import plugin for Adobe Premiere Pro. This plug-in enables users to import FLV videos with various codec like AVC/H.264, AAC, Screen Video, Nellymoser, MP3, PCM, and Sorenson H.263. Besides FLV video, the plug-in allows AVCHD import and HD video import in MTS, M2TS, TP, TS, and MKV formats.
Moyea Importer for Adobe Premiere do not convert your video so it keeps video quality for you. The plug-in automatically detects the Adobe Premiere versions on your machine and you can choose the versions to install the plug-in. It currently supports Adobe Premiere Pro 1.0/1.5/2.0/CS3/CS4 and Elements 3.0/4.0/7.0/8.0.
I notice in Third-party plug-ins for Adobe Premiere Pro this part, Adobe didn't get any such plug-ins. They only have two file support plug-ins and Moyea Importer can fill the blank.
Now I want to submit this software on Adobe's site but I don't know where to submit or who I should to contact. Any suggestions? I really need your help and I am sure it is really good software.Any suggestion? Admin of this board? Who can help me

While I personally still don't have any need for Translucator
(I must
admit the name made me laugh badly) so I didn't test it, I
think
Background Remover is quite capable. I was unable to achive
good results
using it only on a couple of test images out of quite a large
set, but I
must admit I wasn't able to do any better with hand masking
using brush,
so I can't blame the plugin. Taking into account very basic
bitmap masking
capabilities of FW, I think it's a great addon, and
considering the price
for most competitors, it's clearly the best.
That's the end of our scientists report ;-)

Migrating to CC - Photoshop plug ins
I do posses a vast number of photoshop plug-ins installed in CS6; now I am migrating to CC; how do I migrate the filters and plug-ins?
Welcome to the forum,
As John stated, it's best to check with the developers websites of each plug-in and see if they offer updated versions for Creative Cloud software, or further information about upcoming updates or compatibility issues with Creative Cloud. -
Missing extensions/plug-ins for Safari.
So, I recently had a virus/malware scare and to take care of it (which I did) I got rid of all extensions/plug ins for Safari.
I've currently only got Adobe Flash Player, and nothing else which is really hindering me. I've looked all over but I can't find out what the plug-ins or extensions I need are.
The most recent issue was something about Audio Midi when I couldn't play an audio thing online while looking for guitar chords stuff.
After that gave it a shot by asking Apple, but the closest Apple store is too far to be worth driving to and I can't afford $50 or however much it is to get the info/links/whatever I need. There's no need to install Safari extensions if you don't wan to, however, there might want to check out the extensions gallery. You may find something useful.
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Safari Extensions ...
To avoid malware, open System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General
Make sure: Mac App Store and identified developers is selected.
If that area is grayed out, click the padlock icon to proceed. -
Hi all.
I've just bought the following gear for a small home recording setup: MacBook Pro 2.44mhz, LE9, TC Electronic Impact Twin, SE Electronic 2200A Mic, M-audio midi keyboard.
The music I'm doing is minimalistic folk or something like it.
Currently i'm using the plug-ins that comes with LE9, but my question is: what would be great plug-ins for my style of music? I'm going to use it mainly for Keys, strings, flutes, drums and bass. I would really like plug-ins that sounds organic, is there something like that out there? And what about free plug-ins, where do I find these?
I'm going to link to my music so that you guys can get a sense of the style, the music on myspace is recorded in a traditional fashion though.

All the best
LarsWelcome to the world of Logic !
I would recommend the M-Tron Pro and VSE both from G force for strings , flutes , etc. http://www.gforcesoftware.com/index.php
And Maybe some very simple less polished sounding sample libraries for bass and drums which you could load right into the esx-24 sampler in logic ,but I can't recommend any since A: thats not my style so I don't know the names of some I've heard and B: Sample libraries are a very personal choice.
I would recommend that if it looks flashy it's probably not going to produce than salt of the earth sound your after though .

OpenEXR plug-ins for CS3?
Are there any Universal Binary OpenEXR plug-ins for Photoshop CS3? The only one I can find is PowerPC only.
Photoshop CS2, CS3, and CS4 can natively read and write OpenEXR.

Using STL collections in Photoshop plug-ins
Hello!<br /><br />Would you explain one moment. I need use a lot of STL collections in my Photoshop plug-in.<br /><br />First, I try to write something like<br />---------------------------------------------------------------------<br />#include <map><br />#include <string><br /><br />...<br /><br /> map<int,string> foo; // BANG!<br />---------------------------------------------------------------------<br /><br />Next, I try to use Photoshop Basic Suite:<br /><br />---------------------------------------------------------------------<br />#include <algorithm><br /><br />namespace std {}<br />using namespace std;<br /><br />#include <PIFormat.h><br /><br />extern SPBasicSuite *g_sSPBasic;<br /><br />inline void * operator new ( const size_t size )<br />{<br /> void *result = 0;<br /><br /> if( 0 != g_sSPBasic )<br /> {<br /> void *temp;<br /><br /> if( g_sSPBasic->AllocateBlock( size, &result ) )<br /> {<br /> result = 0;<br /> }<br /> else<br /> {<br />#ifdef DEBUG<br /> char *tmp = static_cast<char*>( result );<br /> fill( tmp, tmp + size, 0xEB );<br />#endif<br /> }<br /> }<br /><br /> return result;<br />}<br /><br />inline void operator delete ( void * ptr )<br />{<br /> if( 0 != g_sSPBasic )<br /> {<br /> g_sSPBasic->FreeBlock( ptr );<br /> }<br />}<br /><br />// the same for operator new[] and operator delete[]<br />---------------------------------------------------------------------<br /><br />Now simple STL collections can be created.<br /><br />Is there more laconic way to create STL collections?<br /><br />Moreover. This code is very dirty. For example, I even don't sure that Simple Suite address is constant between calls of plug-in entry point. So I think this is an awful dangerous code (just imagine the effect of two copies of of Adobe Photoshop using plug-in using this operators simultaneously).<br /><br />Do you have some ideas how to make it clean and working?

On dynamic C++ memory management in Adobe Photoshop plug-in
As there are some people interested in the question I'll try to explain a technique I use at present.
I have two memory allocators:
a) based on Adobe's Basic Suite for small blocks (under 2Kbytes)
b) based on Adobe's Handle Suite for large blocks (above 2Kbytes)
operator new and operator new[] allocate 4 additional bytes for every allocation, store in the first 4 bytes handle to memory allocator used for this new or new[] call, and return pointer after this handle.
operator delete and operator delete[] takes memory allocator handle from the pre-pointer 4 bytes, and dellocate memory using correct memory allocator.
This strategy works well.
Does anybody know a better dynamic memory management technique to use with Adobe SDK for Adobe Photoshop plug-ins?
