"Current Time" problem behind a NAT Configured DSL Modem

I have a WRT54GS wireless router behind a NAT configured Alcatel Speedtouch Pro DSL modem.  I have noticed that the "Current Time:" is perpetually "Not Available".   I am speculating that it is because the NAT blocks the syncrhonization, but I'm not absolutely sure.  Can anyone confirm that this indeed could be the problem?
If this is the case, is it possible to configure a NAT router to pass this signal?
I would like to have the benefits of NAT, but I would also like to utilize the WRT54GS's policy feature to limit my kid's internet activity after hours.
Thanks in advance!

Alcatel makes a lot of SpeedTouch modems.  I cannot tell which one you have.  I assume it must be a "modem-router" rather than a true modem.
What "Intenet connection type" are you using in the WRT54GS?  I assume it is probably DHCP or static.  Disconnect the WRT54GS and the Speedtough. Set the "Internet connection type" on the WRT54GS to "static", then set the (WAN) "Internet IP address" to an address that the SpeedTouch will see as a fixed LAN IP address, and set the "Default Gateway" to the LAN IP address of the SpeedTouch, and set the "Subnet Mask" to 255.255.255.0 , and set the "DNS server address" to your true Internet DNS server address  (you should be able to find this info in the SpeedTouch).
Hope this helps.
Please let me know whether or not this worked.
If you need more help, please state the exact model number of your modem (not the WRT54GS?

  • Time Capsule + 2Wire 1701 HG Gateway DSL Modem/Router

I'm posting this note in that hopes that maybe some lost soul will stumble across it and take heart. Some things do indeed "Just Work," but it might take 10 or 15 person-hours to reach that state.
This was Trouble with a capital T.
It took me about a week, the ISP tech support people a couple of hours in two phone sessions, and finally Apple Support about a half hour to get it running.
The first two times I tried to set it up (even though I'm kind of an RTFM kind of guy) the Time Capsule and I managed to completely bring down my network and to disable the modem all the way to hard reset.
The third time, I got Apple Support to talk me through it, and now it's happily munching away, backing up my main drive.
The root problem, according to Apple support, was that the 2wire is a combined modem/router, so that, unless the guy at the keyboard pays very close attention to the step descriptions and understands all the subtleties, he can get both 2wire and TC trying to assign addresses on the network and really screw things up.
The Apple-phone-support-prescribed sequence that ultimately worked was shutting down everything attached to the modem then restarting in order, modem, TC, finally MacBook. During the re-setup process the 2wire website somehow detected the need for a modem firmware upgrade and offered to download and install it.
Finally the TC's green light came on, and everything seems to be working to spec.
Now I'm a happy guy, but there's no possible way I could have gotten that out of a manual, and if it hadn't been for Apple's willingness to provide human phone support, the TC would have been on it's way to the dump. Well ok, I would have waited 'til the next E-waste day. Apple support gets point for running a down home blues on their 'hold' track.
    Hope this helps someone,
    rj

This 2Wire modem/router has been nothing short of a pain in my nether region.
Is it possible to disable the 2Wire's router capabilities and use only the Time Capsule's router capabilities?
I'm going to give your suggestions a shot. Keeping my fingers crossed.

  • Bridge mode for airport extreme or dsl modem? Recomendations?

I'm upgrading to a 'blisteringly fast' 12 Mbps with my local DSL ISP (no cable in my area), and I'm thinking of changing out my
My current, antiquated setup is with a Speedstream 5200 Modem/Router (8 Mbps max) with a Linksys E1200 802.11n router. We have an Apple TV with HDMI into a stout Panasonic plasma, 2 Macs, 3 iPads (2xgen4 + mini), 3 5C iPhones and an old Dell Winbox (XP vintage that I will toss out) that access this configuration in a good-sized house (2 stories, ~4000 sq.ft.).
The Linksys 'n' speed router is somewhat adequate, but we want to do movie/video/music streaming to the AppleTV and we want to buy a new Mac (probably a Mac-mini to replace the Winbox). I also want to future-proof this setup for a few years, given the pain it usually is to do a wholesale swap-out like what I'm contemplating. I want to swap-out this pairing with:
a DSL modem/router to either a Netgear DM111PSP-100NAS (ADSL2+) or an older, but robust Actiontec GT-701D (or the newer -NF).
an Airport Extreme (802.11ac) to manage my Apple menagerie for fast streaming, and also to hang a poor man's network file storage off the USB port.
I'm asking for some recommendations from the community at-large so I can minimize the hassles when I do this swap-out.  Which of the two devices (the modem/router or the AE router) should I put in bridge mode? Any performance penalties one way or another, or hidden gotchas?
    Thanks in advance.
    Craig

I'm back and wanted to put a coda on this thread.
First of all, many thanks to the recommendations by Tesserax and LaPastenague.  You helped allay my fears in converting over to the Time Capsule environment.
The home network is working just great.  Internal speed-ups all the way around.  TC is working great as both a file server AND a Time Machine site.  The Netgear DSL modem is the firewall and the DHCP server for my network.  As stated in earlier posts, it has superior firewall capabilities compared to the Time Capsule.  I configured the Time Capsule to Bridge Mode with my iPhone 5C, the configuration of which only took a couple of minutes.  The speed between the 802.11 ac devices, my TC and the new Mac Mini, are unbelievably fast--on the order of 150+ Mbps at a distance of 40 feet or so through several walls--beamforming really does appear to work as advertised.  That doesn't matter overall except for the Time Machine aspects, as my DSL line is a blisteringly fast 12 Mbps.
The only glitch I've had over the last 3 weeks was due to a short power outage, and the main problem was the networking with hard ethernet connection to the Time Capsule.  I had to reboot the Netgear modem, as it was in a funky state, while other devices, such as my new Mac Mini, were waiting for the modem to vend a DHCP address.  It turns out that the Apple TV had some persistence with its old DHCP-vended address, and the Mac Mini somehow received its IP address first--which conflicted with the Apple TV.  Now, I'm not sure why the wirelessly networked Mac Mini beat the Apple TV to receiving a DHCP vending first, but it did, and the address persistence of the Apple TV created a conflict on the Apple TV network connection.  Once I realized the problem, I shut down the Mac Mini and made sure all my other devices were off as well.  I then restarted the entire network, the Apple TV received its IP address first, and all was well again.  Granted, I could have disconnected the ethernet and allowed really fast wireless to the Apple TV, but it's only 4 feet away from the Time Capsule, so I might as well have the fastest pipe available for HD streaming to my large-format HD television.
The switchover was absolutely painless.  Both the modem and the Time Capsule took, all total, about 10 minutes to set up and configure.  Much easier than with Winboxes.  Other than the Apple TV IP conflict after the power outage, it's been a real delight.
I'm very happy I switched to this new network configuration.

  • No Internet via Airport Extreme and Speedtouch Ethernet DSL modem

I've recently purchased a McBook pro and wanted to create a wireless network. I have a new Airport Extreme Base Station and have successfully set that up, but with no internet connection!
I can get a perfect connection by hardwiring either of my machines to the DSL Modem directly (via Ethernet cable), but when i connect the Airport Extreme to the DSL Modem via ethernet there is no internet.
After a bit of research i'm wondering if there is a "bridge" issue... though i have no idea what that means or how to resolve it. Can anyone help?
    Details:
    Airport Extreme 802.11n
Speedtouch DSL Modem (Thomson ST510 v6)
G5 Power PC Tower (10.4.11) will connect to the Airport Extreme via ethernet, currently connects to the DSL modem via ethernet.
MacBook Pro (10.6.4) will connect wirelessly. can currently connect to the internet through the DSL modem via ethernet.
Dynamic IP via ISP connection via PPPoa

Hi Steven, I know this question has been answered and is a couple of months old but I think you may be able to help with my set up? I have a Thomson speedtouch 510 v6 modem router provided by Karoo (UK). My other Belkin N modem router has just bust [again] so the Speedtouch is my old faithful backup device. Now, i've never been able to get on ichat with the Belkin as its a mimo n speed and this is apparently not compatible; So i'm now on ethernet with the st510 and have just set up ports for ichat thanks to a thread called http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=2719419&#2719419.
What I want to know from you (because I really need a wireless router to get me off this ethernet support system and back on airport) is how you're getting on with the st510 / airport extreme combo now and can you use ichat on it? If so does your connection doctor say full cone in network settings or something else? As I say, I really want to use ichat and have never been able to in 3 years of owning my Macbook Pro. Hope to hear back from you Steven. Regards Steph

  • Configure OD master/replica behind a NAT

I have 4 servers 2 of them in public IP (the master is one of them) and the other in the public IP sync ok, but the two others that are behind a NAT in a DMZ with a PUBLIC-IP to private-IP configured, when they are promoting to replicas, the process runs until the end but suddenly the replica refuses to become a replica and return to the previous state, looking into the master logs, it looks like the replica send their true IP (192.168.1.4) to the master and not the IP that it has so I believe that this is part of the problem, I have a well-know DNS working in the master, but not on the replicas, and they point to the master as their DNS.
    Any ideas ?

    Hi
Promote the Replica to OD Master. Demote the old Master to Standalone and then Promote to Replica. For OD Master & Replica relationships to be successful they must all be the same OS version:

  • Configure RVS4000 Behind 2700-Gateway Qwest DSL Router VPN

I have my QWEST DSL Router 2700-Gateway using a static public IP address
This is setup to be the DHCP and assigned 192.168.0.2-50
I need some help how to connect my RVS4000 and utilize VPN so I can connect to my work network from home. The 2700-Gateway has some features like Transparent Bridging, etc, but not sure how to me this work. Can anyone point me to article even if it's configuring with another DSL Router.
Here is how I tried with my medium knowledge of networking...
I have configured the RVS4000 as:
    LAN Static IP
    192.168.0.115
    Configured as DHCP Relay
the 2700-Gateway router saw the device so:
Configured firewall on 2700-Gateway for PORT FORWARDING:
TCP port 1723 for PPTP tunnel maintenance traffic
UDP port 47 Generic Routing Encapsulation (GRE)
UDP port 500 for Internet Key Exchange (IKE) traffic
UDP port 1701 for L2TP traffic
    --> 192.168.0.115
    This did not work.

    gv,
Thanks for your help. I discovered the EasyVPN works quite differently then I expected a IPSec to work. Thanks for the suggestions. I documented my finding and procedure below.
The answer was to use the transparent bridging setting on my DSL modem model 2Wire GATEWAYHG-2700 and and turn off Search PCV,  then setup the PPPoE on the RVS4000 VPN router to accept and authenticate my public IP address.
Once I had the modem and router configured, I then had my RVS4000 VPN router ready to test VPN client. The documentation is vague. But after doing some research on here and having some difficulty:
    My Finding:
I already had latest Firmware 1.109 from purchase
On the client, I discovered from reading that the EasyVPN uses 443. Well I have this forwarding to a exchange server to utilize RPC/HTTPS with outlook. This turns out that it was fixed with the lastest firmware
The new firmware allows this, as they fixed the vpn listening port override to port 60443..
I port forwarded this to my router gateway 192.168.1.1
In order to use this port, you must have the lastest client from the downloads at RVS4000 version. 1.10 which adds a drop box Auto/443/60433. I found auto and 60443 to work with my configuration.
This configuration let me connect successfully.
If you read the readme that's included with the EasyVPN client download, you have to export the client cert under VPN, and copy the file *.pem to the root folder of the vpn client.exe stated in readme to get rid of the security popup. This worked for me.
So everything seems to be connecting.. But know get "The remote gateway is not responding" popup.  I tried the suggested MTU setting with no luck.
After establishing a network share under map drive, this seems to have stop responding as well once this popup occurs.
Things like this should just not be so hard..
So I found this post in regards to my problem and hoping to here if anyone else has found a solution or work around here. Good night, some things are just not worth staying up late for,

  • Insert current date/time problem in ViewObject

    Hi!
I'm trying to setAttribute to a Date type field.
    I have a method:
    public String getCurrDateString() throws ParseException, java.sql.SQLException {
    SimpleDateFormat formatter = new SimpleDateFormat ("dd-MMM-yyyy hh:mm:ss aa");
    Date currentTime_1 = new Date();
    return formatter.format(currentTime_1);
All the time i call this method such as:
    HistoryViewImpl histVO=getHistoryView();
    Row r=histVO.createRow();
    r.setAttribute("Entrydatetime",cp.getCurrDateString());
    I get oracle.jbo.domain.DataCreationException: JBO-25009: Cannot create an object of type:oracle.jbo.domain.Date with value:19-Jun-2002 10:14:33 AM
the strange thing is, that Oracle recognizes this kind of format, because if I use different pattern such as "yyyy-MM-dd", which returns string "2002-06-19", r.setAttribute("Entrydatetime",cp.getCurrDateString()) method works fine and in Oracle table field we have inserted value 19-Jun-2002 12:00:00 PM. The problem is, that i don't need 12:00:00 PM as a time, i need current time.
What am i doing wrong? Or does it mean that oracle.jbo.domain.Date doesn't know format "dd-MMM-yyyy hh:mm:ss aa"?

If you have to pass in string, then establish a Formatter on the attribute with appropriate date format and then use the AttributeHints interface from the relevant AttributeDef object on the row to parse the input String into a valid parsed object that you can set into the row.
(See oracle.jbo.uicli.binding.JUCtrlValueBinding.setAttributeInRow() method for a complete usage - source in bc4j\src\bc4juisrc.zip)

  • Time capsule IP settings / NAT / DHCP / questions

I'm trying to set up a Time Capsule in my apartment, to use as a wireless router with several apple computers. I've been using an Airport Express in the past. I'm having problems setting up the computers to get individual IP addresses, not in conflict with each other, while still receiving the Internet signal.
My DSL comes with a stable IP address which I have assigned to the Capsule, along with associated subnet mask, router address (the router in the building from the service provider, which is working fine), and DNS server addresses.
Trouble is, if I set my capsule to assign IPs through DHCP or share a signal IP, it shows blinking amber on reboot. Strangely, as a bridge, with one computer assigned the same IP I'm able to get the internet, but if I want to use more than one computer, I get an error message about IP duplication. I'm also wondering about double NAT (which I'm not as familiar with). ANother question is whether to plug into the WAN or LAN port. The airport setup seems to want me to use the WAN port (and says that no ethernet plugged in there is a problem). Is it?
Finally, I was wondering if I can use my old airport express to extend my range and/or network a second printer in the other room. Do the two routers need to be connected by an ethernet cable? Can the airport express be remotely set up to use the same network the Time Capsule is plugged into from the wall?
Many thanks for anybody's help with this.

The airport setup seems to want me to use the WAN port (and says that no ethernet plugged in there is a problem). Is it?
Yes you want the DSL modem plugged into the WAN port.
Does your DSL require PPPoE? If so, after configuring the Time Capsule to get a connection using PPPoE... ensure that you DISABLE PPPoE on each of your computers. Only one device should be handling PPPoE.
Finally, I was wondering if I can use my old airport express to extend my range and/or network a second printer in the other room.
Yes as long as you configure the Time Capsule to work in an 802.11g compatible mode AND you configure both the Time Capsule and AirPort Express (AX) to wirelessly connect using WDS.
Do the two routers need to be connected by an ethernet cable?
    No

  • DSL Modem and Wireless Router problems

I started to have problems on Tuesday.
    My Equipment is:
Dell Precision 870 PC with a Intel Pro network card
Apple IMAC with the Apple Lan connection
    Lynksys/Cisco E3000 (Problem started with a Linksys WRT610N router)
    Verizon (Actiontec) GT701C DSL modem
I came down to my office and I noticed that the DSL light on my modem was not lit.  In the past
this has ment that there is a problem in the Central Office.  Later in the day I got hold of Verizon
tech support and we got the DSL running again with the modem connected to either computer.
When I connect the router to the modem and the computers to the router, Dell via wire and Apple
via wireless 5.0 GHz 802.11N inout and restart both the router and the modem, I get connectivity
through the router and the modem but the DSL light on the modem is not lit.  After a long period
of time the DSL light may come on then I loose connectivity.
Everything was working correctly til late Monday night/early Tuesday morning.
I have reset both the modem and routers to factory defaults several time.  I have a problem when
trying to get connectivity with the moden after setting it up again and it takes me to the Verizon
DSL startup site.  Tech support walked me throuogh using the "192.168.1.1/verizon/redirect" and
shutting the redirect off.  I then have connectivity as long as the router is not connected.
I thoought the router went so I just installed a new router, the Linksys/Cisco E3000, and I still
    have the DSL light problem.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Having both routers the same IP address is a little bit confusing, but possible since each router creates it's own subnet and provides full PNAT support. Actiontec DSL modem has to have DHCP enabled since Linksys WAN (not LAN) port should be connected to one of 4 Actiontec LAN ports. Linksys should not have any configuration setup in regards of your WAN account. Just set it to dynamic address. In ohter words:
    1. RJ-11 connect to Actiontec mode/router.
    2. Actiontec modem should be configured to acquire an IP address from Verizon and to provide all authentication info to Verizon.
    3. Actiontec modem should be configured to allow clients to acquire dynamic IP addresses -- DHCP enabled.
    4. Linsys WAN (not LAN!) port should be connected to Actiontec LAN port.
    5. Linksys should be configured to acquire dynamic IP address and no authentifacations.
    6. Configure Linksys to be DHCP enabled or you can use static IP addresss if you want.
    7. Wireless devices would be connected to Linksys and on the way to the Internet addresses would go through double NAT conversions. Any wired device connected to Linksys would have similar  features. Any device connected to Linksys should be able to connect 192.168.1.1 assigned to Linksys, but not to Actiontec.
    8. To be able to connect Linksys and Actiontec would no be able to communicate unless you split 192.168.1.0/24 into smaller subnets and set specific routes in the table. But even you do so you will not be able to access 192.168.1.1 accross subnets boundary.
    Hope it helps.

  • I have connected a new time capsule to a dsl modem.  It doesnt see the internet. Airport utility says: Disconnected. But it isnt. Internet tab shows PPPoE. Must I enter Account Name or Password? If so, where do I find them? If not, what do I do?

I have connected a new Time Capsule to a DSL modem using an ethernet cable . The modem is working fine and connected fine. But the Time Capsule doesnt seem to be talking to the modem.  If I click the internet Icon in Airport Utility  it shows Disconnected. If I click the Time Capsule icon and go to the internet tab it shows  Connect using PPPoE. Is that what it should be? In the box below there is place for an account name and password. DO I need to filll these out and if so what do I put there--information about the Time Capsule of informationabout the Modem? And where do I find the information.
Or am I completely on the wrong track.

Thanks. The modem is a Speedtouch ST585  v6. How do I know whether it is in adsl bridge?  Also this is a modem-***-router. Does that make a difference?
If you did not put it in bridge then it is not in bridge..
Connect a computer directly to the modem.. open the browser to either 192.168.1.254 or 10.0.0.138 (if neither of those work you will have to check the IP address your ISP has set).
BTW who is your ISP and do they allow PPPoE.. for instance most ISP in UK do not use pppoe so you have no choice but to run the 585 as a router. In which case bridge the TC
Anyway.. open the setup configuration in the Thomson and select a template that says bridge.. run through the wizard and it will then bridge the modem.
And I am using Airport Utility 6.0. How do I get the earlier version?
By reading the site link I just gave you.. downloading the utility and running it on your computer. Or simply google to 5.6 lion airport utility... that is the way I find things when I don't have the link memorised.
Finally, AIrport Utility shows a number in a red dot next to the time capsule icon, currently 2. What is that for? What does it tell us?
Firstly download the useful utility.. but the dots tell you something is wrong and preventing the TC from working.. if you open the utility it should tell you what the errors mean.. I cannot tell you what they are, but it is likely to be no internet connection and pppoe has failed.

  • Apple Airport Extreme Base Station for PPPoE, DHCP and NAT with ActionTec DSL modem

I just spent several hours trying to track down proper instructions for setting up my Apple AEBS to do the PPPoE, DHCP and NAT while connected to an ActionTec M1000 (no wireless module).  It turns out my initial set ups on both devices were correct, but that the order for rebooting and reconnecting the two devices is critical.  All of the threads I found on this forum and on many others suggested this was not possible, but it is.  What I don't yet know is whether it is the best method for running my home network DSL connection to my ISP (CenturyLink).
The instructions I found that worked come courtesy of Brandon Konkle's blog and are both simple and clear:  http://brandon.konkle.us/post/19637529637/centurylink-actiontec-q1000-airport-ex treme-bridge
The proper settings for the ActionTec DSL Modem can be found under Advanced Setup/IP Adressing/WAN IP Address
Click RFC 1483 Transparent Bridging then click on Apply.
    (see also http://qwest.centurylink.com/internethelp/modems/m1000/pdf/M1000_BRIDGE.pdf )
To reduce time, do this BEFORE you reset your AEBS then set the AEBS so that you don't have to wait for the AEBS to reboot.
In contrast to what Brandon described for the Q1000 modem, my AEBS never reconnected to the modem (he describes his as getting an IP from his ISP, then dropping it then getting another over and over - mine never got an IP).  Once you have reset both devices as described, the critical steps I have not found described elsewhere were:
    1.  Disconnect the power from both the modem and the Airport Extreme.
    2.  Disconnect the Ethernet cable between the two devices
    3.  Restore power to the 2 devices and allow them to fully reboot.  For the ActionTec M1000, this is indicated when the lights stop blinking.  (Note that the Internet light will NOT be lit in this instance since the modem is acting only as a bridge.  You will NOT have an Internet connection until the AEBS is reconnected.)  The AEBS will be blinking yellow.
    4.  Reconnect the Ethernet cable between the devices (make sure on the M1000 that you are using the connector with the circle icon over it, not the arrow icon).
Within about 60 seconds, the AEBS light went to steady green and the connection to the Internet was restored.
Now I have to see if this is a more stable configuration than the flaky one I had before while using the AEBS as a bridge and the M1000 to do everything.
Does anyone think or know if it will make a difference?

No one can accurately predict in advance what the actual results might be. I've tried both ways with different products and cannot say that one method is better than the other.  What works is best.
In theory, it is preferable to have the modem provide the PPPoE connection service since it is the device connected directly to the Internet.
In practice, results vary depending on the service provider, products used, phase of the moon, alignment of the planets, etc.

  • Data written in Operationamanager DB shows 1 Hr old time than current time

    Hi All,
I have a strange issue on my SCOM 2007 R2 CU4 RMS, Just discovered this accidentally.
I Configured an alert for testing and i used a sql query to extract the data for the test alert.
In generally the Ops DB and Ops warehouse write data in GMT (London time)
When i ran a query if the Alert appeared at 08:00 PM London time, The time in the Alert shows 1 hr old so it shows that the alert appeared at 07:00 PM GMT.
So i used the query to see the current time in the DB "SELECT GETUTCDATE()"
Post entering the command i found that the time shows 1 hr behind the actual time.
So it appears that if it is 08:00PM now the Alerts and the time in the SQL Server shows 07:00PM GMT.
Is there any idea why this issue is occurring ?
I have analysed the Ops manager event logs and found nothing interesting. Just found the below events.
    Event id 31553
Data was written to the Data Warehouse staging area but processing failed on one of the subsequent operations.
Exception 'SqlException': Sql execution failed. Error 777971002, Level 13, State 1, Procedure EventProcessStaging, Line 398, Message: Sql execution failed. Error 1205, Level 13, State 56, Procedure -, Line 1, Message: Transaction (Process ID 65) was deadlocked
on lock resources with another process and has been chosen as the deadlock victim. Rerun the transaction.
One or more workflows were affected by this.

The Local server time is US Eastern and is having the correct time.
The SQL & RMS have correct Eastern time. Both are physical Boxex.
Any help on this will be really appreciated.

In SCOM, all timestamp data is convert into UTC time before written into SCOM DB. This means the alert time is in UTC format.
When you ran a query if the Alert appeared at 08:00 PM London time, The time in the Alert shows 1 hr old so it shows that the alert appeared at 07:00 PM GMT. This is expected result because your machine time zone is not UTC and is UTC+1.

  • Problems hooking up my router to my dsl modem

ok, first off I have a emachines computer running on windows millenium edition. A westell dsl modem model 6100, and a linksys wireless G 2.4ghz broadband router  model number wrt54gs version 6. all this connects to a 3com  etherlink xl 10/100 pci tx NIC model number 3C905B-TX. Lastnight I searched for any and all help I could find to install this router due to the multiple problems I had trying to get it all to work together, just as I finally got it working 5 hours later, it was bed time and I shut it all down. I woke in the morning to use the computer and was heavily irritated to find myself back at no internet connection and was unable to get any of this equipment to work again. Now finally after I restored my computers operating system and resetting my dsl modem, I have internet again. I just bought this router and I am very disappointed in how difficult it has been. If anyone could help me on installing this, give me details on exactly what to change, or do to make this work, I would be very grateful. I am aware of the issues between westell modems, verizon dsl and linksys routers. From what I have read its almost not designed to all work together at all unless you tweak with it forever and ever and never shut your equipment down. Please if anyone can help, give me step by step instructions or your experiences that could help me make it work right, please respond, thank you.

Use this LINK as a reference to configure your router to use a DSL connection.  Also go to the linksys web site and make sure your router has the latest firmware.  If not download the latest version and update it.

  • Current Time Indicator Question

There is a grey area following behind the current time indicator everywhere it goes, and animation presets will move along, how do I change this problem

What is the problem? The grey area around the current-time indicator merely indicates the shutter angle and shutter phase of motion blur:

i ran it through osb's "XQuery Expression Testing console" at 13:37 (GMT) on monday oct 18. this is what was output:

my workstation's clock is set correctly. it's set to "Automatically adjust clock for daylight saving changes". I'm in the GMT timezone. the osb/wls stdout console window and logs all show the correct date and time.
if i run the "current-date()" and "current-time()" functions through XML Spy 2001's XPath engine, it outputs the correct date and time.
what gives? anybody know what's wrong?
i've come across a few other similar threads. i've found the MLR #16 patch referred to in some of those posts. but unless i'm mistaken, it looks like that particular patch is for OSB 10.1.x.x.x; and i'm using 11.1. so i would have thought that 11.1 would have that patch anyway. no?
    i'm completely stumped!
thanks in advance for your time and help.

turns out that wrapping current-date in "fn:adjust-date-to-timezone()" is Zone related date time conversion problem with fn-bea:dateTime-to-string...
there's also an "adjust-time-to-timezone()" and an "adjust-dateTime-to-timezone()". who knew?
if anybody else has any other solutions, i'm all ears.
