Current URL in toolbar

I have to click in the toolbar now in Safari to see the current URL, which is quite annoying.

Open Safari menu Safari>Preferences and choose the 'Advanced' tab. Check the box next to ‘Smart Search Field’ for 'Show full website address'.
And please bring your signature up to date - obviously you aren't using 10.6.8.

  • Is there a way to show the current URL for a WebHelp topic in the browser?

    RoboHelp 11, WebHelp.
    When I open the WebHelp project, the URL displays the start page for the Touchstone Help project: ..../Documentation/Touchstone/Content/Content.htm.
    As I go to different pages in the Help, the URL never changes.
    Our client consulting personnel often like to copy a URL to send to a client who has a question about a particular topic.
    Is there a WebHelp setting that supports display of the current URL?
    Thank you.

    Hi, Jeff.
    Internet Explorer 9.
    I've got the pointer in the topic.
    Right-clicking displays the following shortcut menu.
    When I click "Create shortcut" (the only option with "shortcut" in the name), the following message appears.
    After clicking Yes, the shortcut is on the desktop. The user must then right-click the URL, select Properties, copy the URL from the Web Document tab, paste it into an email, and send it.
    Is this the process as you understand it?
    Thanks.

  • How do I display or hide a Java menu based on current url in a php page

    How do I display or hide a Javascript menu based on the current url in a php page?
    I want to specify when a java menu appears on a page based on the current url - does anyone have a script for the vars and conditional statements to make this happen - it would be something like this in natural language:
    <javascript>
    if currenturl = http://jemmakidd.com/categories.php
    then displaymenu
    else if currenturl = http://jemmakidd.com/categories.php?cat=14 (or 15,16 etc)
    then DONOTdisplaymenu
    What is needed is that, if you look at this page there is a java menu under the first category:
    http://jemmakidd.com/categories.php
    I WANT the menu to appear on that page so that is working, however if I look at one of the store categories, like on this page, I do NOT want the menu to appear - it may be that this can be done without using a java current url type function - thats why I'm asking...
    http://jemmakidd.com/categories.php?cat=14
    So to summarise:
    http://jemmakidd.com/categories.php (If this url is used DO display menu - if any other url DONT display menu)
    Thanks again...any ideas?

    This is a Java forum, not a Javascript forum. Google the differences.

  • Q: How to retrieve the current URL with PL/SQL

    I've got a pair of dynamic page portlets on a page. The first is simply an input text box and a submit button, the second is an inventory 'report' based on what is entered in the text box. When a value is entered and the button pressed, there is javascript behind the button that takes the current URL, adds '&ITEM=XXXXXXXX' (removing it first if this is not the first invocation of the page), and redirects to the new page.
    The second portlet uses the &ITEM parm to list a bill of materials for the item. If one of the items possesses a sub-assembly, I want to display the item# in an <a href= manner to make it so the user can simply click on the link to see the BOM of the subassembly.
    To do this, I believe I need to capture the current url and modify it as required to pass the new &ITEM value. I'm having a lot of trouble trying to figure out how to get the current page url. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hello
    I have a similar problem I have developed a pl/sql portlet and put it into a page, this portlets display a dynamic page. This dynamic page have a search functionality, what I am trying to do is that when I click the search button on the dynamic page it recall the whole page and pass the paremeter that the user wrote on the search box, then the portlet that contains the dynamic page recieve the parameter and recall the dynamic page with the parameter that was received. The problem that I have is that the portlet receive the parameter but when I pass the parameter to the dynamic page it doesn't get it. This is the way the I am calling the dynamic page inside my portlet into the show procedure:
    EXECUTE IMMEDIATE
    'begin
    APP_NAME.PG_DYN_DIR_ALFABETICO.show (
    p_arg_names => PORTAL30.wwv_standard_util.string_to_table2(''url_page'',''search_param''),
    p_arg_values => PORTAL30.wwv_standard_util.string_to_table2(:1,:2));
    end;'
    using url_pg,p_text1;
    The dynamic page receive the first parameter(url_page) but not the second one(p_text1), I have checked that the p_text1 has a value on my portlet before I send it to the dynamic page so I really don't understand why my dynamic page doesn't work.
    Please HELP ME. I am desperate

  • How to get current URL from Internet Explorer ?

    Hi,
    I have design an add-on for IE and I'm
    trying to get URL from IE which is currently opened that is which is currently user sees. Is there any way to get it? I want to store that address in label and use it for something useful. Is it possible with C# ?
    I have did the following code to get current URL but it showing last opened URL instead of current URL which is user see
    using SHDocVw;
           SHDocVw.ShellWindows shellWindows = new SHDocVw.ShellWindows();
                         string filename;
                         foreach (SHDocVw.InternetExplorer ie in shellWindows)
                             filename = Path.GetFileNameWithoutExtension(ie.FullName).ToLower();
                             if (filename.Equals("iexplore"))
                               label1.Text=ie.LocationURL;
                               label1.Text = ie.LocationName;
    and I have tried this one also
    foreach (InternetExplorer ie innew ShellWindows())
       label1.Text = ie.LocationURL.ToString();
       label2.Text = ie.LocationName.ToString();
    Please give me any suggestion or code to solve this problem.
    Thanks.
    Priyanka

    You already got addon running in the active ie instance. You just need to catch the WindowStateChanged event in every instance so you can write down the last event with OLECMDIDF_WINDOWSTATE_USERVISIBLE somewhere. When you need the active IE instance, just
    pull from your save.
    Note an IE tab may crash and take your addon with it. It is better to start a broker process to store your global data.

    I read previous message where it was recommneded to use WWPOB_PAGE$. Unfortunately, that table show the object compile under PORTAL30 user. We use another user to create or manage our pages.

    that's usually the root user - follow the instructions here to disable it. The same steps apply in Mavericks.

    hi
    what do you mean by current url? If url of current page is not what you are looking for, then is it url of current site?
    As you use app, I guess you are working with Sharepoint Online and can't use server side code? If this is the case, then check the following post:
    How to get URL of current site collection and other server side properties on client site in Sharepoint. Briefly you need to use OTB _spPageContextInfo object and set href attribute of your link in javascript:
    <ul>
    <a id="foo">Link</a>
    </ul>
    <script type="text/javascript">
    document.getElementById("foo").setAttribute("href", _spPageContextInfo.siteAbsoluteUrl);
    </script>

  • Pass current url as report prarameter while using report viewer web part

    hello everybody
    is there a way to
    pass current url as report prarameter while using report viewer web part
    thanks in advance
    Sergey Vdovin

    Hi Evolex,
    Per my understanding that you want to get the current url and create an parameter to add this URL as its value, right?
    gernerally, we can use some code to get the current url but it almost impossible for us to get it automatically as value of the report parameter.
    In your senario, i suggest you to copy the url and specify values when creating parameters.
    Thanks for your understanding.

  • How can we read the current URL in Forms9i

    Hi,
    It will be greatful, if anyone give me the solution to get the current URL in Oracle forms 9i
    Regards,
    Walter Nicholas T

    Walter,
    it depends on what you need it for. The Forms URL cannot be accessed directly from Forms without using a Java Bean in it, but consists of
    <protocoll><server><port>forms90/f90servlet?config=<application>
    If you want to call resources on the same server, then you could do a web.show_document() call to /<virtual path>/<file>, whic would then look for the resource on the server that downloaded Forms
    To get the information about the config parameter, create a user parameter in Forms, say "conf" and add teh following to teh formsweb.cfg file
    [myApp]
    otherparams=conf=%config%
    In Forms the config information is accessible via
    varStr := :parameter.conf;
    To get the whole URL string, I am afraid you need to write a Java Bean in Forms (not sure of webutil already implements this, maybe worth checking)

  • Listen the current URL with Flash  Adobe Air

    Hi!
    I'm new in Adobe Air, I need (urgente!!!) to do a simple widget with Adobe Air that monitors the URLs where I navigate and when I enter to a specific site the widget appears in the front of my screen and display a message. The problem is that I don't know how to listen the current URL of my browser using Adobe air (flash).
    I was trying with HttpStatusEvent but I can figure aut how to retireve the URL from my browser.
    Thanx!!
       Carolina

    An Adobe AIR application runs independently from web browsers.  For something like what you describe to work, an application would need to find a way to interact deliberately with browsers running on the system. The HttpStatusEvent, however, is an event that is listened for when the Adobe AIR application itself is attempting to interact with a URL and receives an HTTP status code, in which case you are already aware of the URL to begin with.

  • URG: How can i get current URL in PL/SQL?

    Hello,
    i need to get the URL of a page in order to read the parameters i pass from a page to another page.
    The owa_util.get_cgi_env('QUERY_STRING'); function doesn't work properly, so i'd like to know if there is a standard portal pl/sql function that return the current URL.
    In particular i know the wwpro_api_parameters package, but i have some pages without any portlets inside.
    For example:
    if a URL has these parameters: http://.......?empno=10&deptno=20
    can i use the "get_value" function in a custom procedure?
    l_value :=wwpro_api_parameters.get_value
    ('empno','p_reference_path');
    Does anybody know how to do that? and what do i have to put in the p_reference_path?
    Thanks in advance

    I am using windows Vista 007 and Mozila 3.6.1.3

    Do those entries have a yellow star at the far right?
    If they have then they are bookmarks. You can remove them if you open that link and click the star to open the Edit This Bookmark dialog and click the Remove button in that dialog.

  • Internet Explorer: Contextual Menu, Retrieve Current URL,Grab Selected Text

    Hi,
    How would you do to add an item to the Internet Explorer Contextual Menu that grab the selected text and retrieve the current Url?
    Thanks in advance

    Actually, I would like to retrieve the current URL and the selected text from the browser by default.
    Ubiquitous, Internet Explorer is the first browser I would like to use.
    1. It could be a java application that monitors the active browser on WinNT, and displays the current URL and the selected text of the monitored browser.
    Or
    2. it could be a java script called by the contextual menu of IE that launches an application with specific data from the page when the item is clicked (gives these specific data to a monitoring application)
    Launching the default browser with a URL is OK. However, monitoring the active browser and retrieving its informations, or retrieving its informations after a clik from the contextual menu is quite an exercise ;-)
    Thanks in advance,
