Currently on Production Premium CS4, trialling Photoshop CS5, Bridge CS4 disappears....
I am waiting on the phone to Customer Services as I type this....
I thought it'd be a neat idea to trial CS5 Photoshop (I'm currently on Production Premium CS4).
I did that, and now Bridge CS4 has disappeared.
I didnt' want that. And when I go to my Adobe CS4 folder under programs, it shows as Adobe Bridge CS4 but when I click on it, I get Bridge CS5
How can I restore this ??
I want to be able to have both installed and the appropriate Bridge to start up depending on whether I'm in CS4 or CS5 (not too much to ask I'd have thought).
Many thanks,
Jez
Thanks Curt, that's really helped and saved me time. By disabling the feature you mention and exiting Bridge CS5, when I go to Photoshop CS4 and invoke Bridge, I do indeed get Bridge CS4 starting and not CS5.
Where I was 'going wrong' was keeping Bridge CS5 running minimized in my system tray which is why even Photoshop CS4 would open it up when invoked from within Photoshop.
Kind regards,
Jez

Photoshop cs5 and cs4, photoshop help...f1 why online
Hi
i have installed on w7 photoshop cs5 and photoshop cs4
well when i try to read the manual (the help files) clicking F1 or under the menu Help-> Photoshop Help F1 ,photoshop cs5 and cs4 connect to the net
for example cs4 opens a firefox page with the help guides
cs5 opens a windows connected to internet
for example i need to know some shortcut and i have to be connected to the net
that's weird
is there a way to use the offline help? like cs3
thanksYou can download the help files as a PDF from the Photoshop Support pages.
If you want to access the offline help files from F1, you have to disconnect PS from the Internet.
If you want to turn off Community Help so that local Help opens by default, do the following:
1. Open the Connections panel (Window > Extensions > Connections).
2. From the Connections panel menu , select Offline Options.
3. Select Keep Me Offline and click OK.
Note: When you disable web services from the Connections panel, all other web services (such as Adobe Kuler and Adobe ConnectNow) are also disabled. -
Updated from Photoshop CS4 to Photoshop CS5
I have installed PS CS5 and uninstalled PS CS4.
The following error message comes up when I right click on my desktop or right click on any folders in the C: drive (example: folders in My Documents or Program Files):
Error: The specified module could not be found. C:\Program files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe Version Cue CS4\Client\4.0.0\VersionCue.DLL
How can this be remedied? I don't want the CS4 Client - it is not a file on my computer any longer (because I uninstalled CS4 and don't need CS4 taking up space on my hard drive.
Is there not a CS5 Client??
Thank you kindly for any relief anyone can provide.Please post in the Photoshop forum. This forum is for suite specific issues only.
Bob -
I cannot update Photoshop CS5, Bridge Extended after a fresh reinstall.
It's running in 32 and 64, but there's all these quirks.Like Bridge crashing in 64 but not 32. Raw also.The ATI Radeon5450 is often problematic (not capable of Open GL) In fact, I've been unable to work for a month now. Also, I can't tell if I've got Extended, I tried a downloaded install as well as from my original disk.
Here's what I have (Sorry about the size, I didn't know what might help)

Photoshop CS5 Bridge not working
I have windows 7 and cannot get the Bridge from Photoshop CS5 to work this is a real problem as most of my photographs are taken in RAW and I can't see the picture in the folder
I have tried most of the answers to this problem from the forum. Launching from start menu and through Program Files doesn't work. Not sure how to change from 64 bit to 32 bit in Windows 7
Adobe if you read this why not solve a problem instead of just bringing out a new version and expecting us to purchase this?You need to give more details. Why does it not work - error message, crash, freeze, never worked, worked yesterday?
Does it work when launched as seperate program from Bridge icon? -
Photoshop CS5.1 Actions Disappeared
I am using Photoshop CS5.1 on a Mac. When launching Photoshop from Lightroom, I got an unexpected error (don't recall now what it said). Unfortunately, my custom workspace and all of my actions (default and user-defined) are gone. I utilize these actions heavily in my workflow and need them back ASAP. I have a good backup system, but when I click Load Actions from the Actions Palette, the default location [UserName]>Library>Application Support>Adobe>Adobe Photoshop CS5.1>Presets>Actions folder is empty (and backup files of this folder are empty long before I had this problem). Interestingly, my [UserName]>Library>Preferences>Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 Settings file still has an Actions Palette.psp file in it. I have shut down and rebooted many times without success. Any idea what I can do to get these actions back? I’m hoping it’s a matter of pointing Photoshop back to my preferences some how. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated as it would take days I don’t have to recreate all of my custom actions from scratch. Thanks!
If you have the files on your system backed up you may be okay. The actions you see in the panel are stored in a file called Actions panel.psp. It's location is as listed here:
http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/preference-file-functions-names-locations.html
If you quit Photoshop, recover the prior version of Actions panel.psp via TimeMachine or whatever, then relaunch Photoshop you should see your old actions.
Good luck.

Font size of menu/toolbar in Photoshop & Adobe Bridge CS4?
I have just downloaded a copy of Photoshop and Adobe Bridge CS4 onto a second laptop I recently purchased. However the font size of the menu bar/tool bars is extremely small. Could you suggest how to increase the font size in the menu/tool bars?

Can I open RW2 files on Photoshop or Bridge CS4?
I have a Mac running OX 10.9.1. I have CS4 installed on my computer and would like to figure out how to open RW2 files in Photoshop/Bridge. The camera I used is a Panasonic Lumiz FZ40. I have Camera Raw version 5.7.0.213 installed.
Hello, the best when facing such question is to google "Camera Raw supported" so that you get that page: http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html
In your case, you need at least Camera Raw 6.2, that is compatible with CS5.
Luckily for you, Adobe has developped the DNG converter that can convert your RW2 to DNG files that Camera Raw 5.7 (*) will be able to open and process.
Get the latest version: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5695
(*and all the programs fully compatible with the DNG spec that do not open the RW2 from the FZ40) -
Photoshop CS5 Bridge HTML Gallery Questions
Have upgraded to CS5 from CS3 and am trying to create HTML Web Galleries that are similar to what we have been creating in CS3.
I no longer have control of the size of the thumbnails created for the Index pages and cannot create less than 3 rows of thumbnails.
We used to create 2 rows and 4 columns of 200 pixel thumbnail images.
Is this something that can be modified if we downloaded the SDK and worked with scripting?I have found the same problem when I went from CS3 to CS4 and continued the same problem in CS5 then I researched the "Output" and "Web Gallery" section again a little more thoroughly. Found that in almost every gallery provided there is a way to change the size and/or quantity of thumbnails in your gallery. For instance the "HTML Gallery" in the "Appearance" section you can change the size of the original picture (your larger picture) and the quantity of thumbnails that show up per page. Next you can save your changes in the "output" section under "Style:" While using the "Filmstrip" template you can change the size of your thumbnails in the "Appearance" section. Hope this helps

Hi folks,
I have a fairly simple question I would like and appreciate answered. : In previous versions of PS (before CS5 acr v6) it has been suggested to change the default settings in curves for the eyedropper settings (Shadow, midtone & highlight.). eg changing the RGB values to collapse the curve. ie Shadow: . R, G, & B to 7. and the Highlight eyedropper R, G, B to 245 respectively: . Is this still the case with ACR 6, as I remember reading somewhere that the update of acr v6 had rectified the necessity to alter the default values?. Many thanks, kkEric,
Thanks for your input. I do colour calibrate my monitors constantly, and create my own icc printer to paper profiles, (including using all the fine print recommendations in print setup.) (Spyder 3 Elite.)
I nearly always print on high gloss paper for contrast. I use top end printers, (epson & canon with highest quality papers and genuine inks). The Epson printer produces the best blacks.
I do a great deal of Macro imaging and therefore really look at shadow, midtones & highlight details at 100%, (even on the cropped final stage of the image, before printing.)
Small changes in Blacks in acr 6 usually overcome any small losses in contrast. I also do some fine adjustments in parametric curves, and as these are additive to the basic raw adjustments.
I thought that I might not need to alter the default eyedropper values in curves. What I was after was a definitive answer to whether the rehash of acr 6 and its effects on the print curve alterations had changed, overcoming ,and not necessitating changes to the eyedropper default values.
I gather from your replies that I can still alter the default values, (esp the top end: highlights) in the PS setup if I wish and ignore the changes that have been documented previously for older versions of acr. (CS5 and earlier.),{and that this area in acr 6 has remained unchanged.}
Thanks again, Ian, aka kundabungkid. -
Photoshop CS5 bridge is a memory Hog
I am running windows 7 with 10GB of RAM. I noticed that my CPU reading will surge at times. The ram meter will show a continuous 23% RAM reading with bridge running. Is this normal?
If Bridge is building cache you will see increased demands on the CPU, but once this is done it should settle back to 0(?).
See post #4 of this thread for explaination of how cache is handled. http://forums.adobe.com/thread/652333?tstart=0 -
I know this has been talked about on the MAC and PC forums for Bridge and has been an issue with CS3 up to CS5. However, it does not seem to be getting any attention from Adobe.
I have gone through the Mac and Win forums from CS3 to CS5 and there are multiple listings of people losing their keywords. I just lost mine again, after rebuilding them about two weeks ago. On another call, 3782474, Paul graciously produced a script to build your existing keywords. You still have to reenter them! Adobe, PLEASE fix this issue. I copied the keyword file and saved it to a backup location. When I lost my file this last time, I restored that file. It stll did not work! I have not upgraded any Adobe products, other Window products or any patches. The only thing I have been doing for the last couple of weeks is editing photos and going from one storage drive to another within Bridge to locate photos. I'm afraid if I lose the one that I just recreated manually that I will no longer use Bridge since this is one of the features that attracts me to it. I'm sure there are other products that will provide keyword search.
Adobe, I hope you are reading this thread and take control. I am running on Windows 7 and Bridge CS5.
Thanks
BobYes I am copying the file /users/bob/appdata/roaming/adobe/bridge cs5/adobebridgekeywords and saving it in a folder on my desktop. The file is an XML document type. A sample of a set as it appears in the file is :
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes" ?>
- <keywords version="2">
>
- <set name="Animals" disclosed="true">
<item name="Antelope" />
<item name="Babies" />
<item name="Bighorn Sheep" />
<item name="Black Bear" />
<item name="Buffalo" />
<item name="Burro" />
<item name="Chipmunk" />
<item name="Colts" />
<item name="Elk" />
<item name="Fawn" />
<item name="Grizzly" />
<item name="Horses" />
<item name="Moose" />
<item name="Pronghorn Antelope" />
<item name="Wolf" />
</set>
When I replace the bad file with this one, it does not work. If I try importing this file, it will not recognize it.

64 bit version download for CS5 Production Premium
I am moving my applications from a 4-core PC to a 6-core PC for increased speed. In so doing, the 6-core will become my second computer with CS5.
Are the 64 bit versions of CS5 Production Premium not on the CS5 discs and were downloaded automatically later still available?I am organizing all the information I need for a transfer of files and programs from my 4-core PC to my 6-core PC so I apologize if my questions sound trivial. I could tell the 64 bit version from the 32 bit version because the file included (64 bit) at the end of the name. If this is the case with the download program then that is simple.
I also have an additional concern regarding download time. When I tried to download CS5 Production Premium twice on the first 4-core PC, the download quit after a period of time. This can be a problem with Telco Internet. I had to order the discs as a result. I may be lucky with a new Airport Extreme router, due 28th of this month, and the 6-core PC combination. Do you have transfer using FTP or what do I do if I experience the same problem with my 6-core. Single programs such as Photoshop would not be a problem. That is why I asked my original question regarding the download of 64 bit versions that were missing on the discs and sent by download afterwards. -
Bridge CS4 won't open to Photoshop CS5 out of Camera Raw?
I use Bridge CS4 because I prefer it to bridge CS5 but when I edit images in ACR in bridge cs4 and click 'Open Image' I want it to open automatically in PS CS5 and instead it opens always into PS CS4. In preferences>file type associations, everything is set to CS5 so I don't know how to direct opening images from ACR to open in photoshop CS5 not CS4. I've had it working on a different system but I don't remember what I did to get it to work.
Uh huh...and why would you expect CS5 to open the image from Bridge CS4? You haven't stated why you are trying to use Bridge CS4, but as you've found out, that is not an optimal solution....(BTW, troubleshooting 101 dictates that you at least mention what platform and OS you are using).

Photoshop version with Production Premium CS6
Hi! I have Production Premium CS6 - student/teacher edition. I teach a video communications course at my school.
Everything I have read online indicates that production premium should include Photoshop Extended. I know I have accessed the 3D menu in the past, so I know I had extended. But today when I went to use Photoshop's 3D menu, it was gone. I realized that I have the non-extended version of PS. I'm not sure if something happened the last time I reformatted our machines or what. Thanks for the help!
SteveThis could be anything from a licensing issue to a technical problem with your graphics driver. 3D requires proper hardware acceleration features to be available. If you installed a new graphics driver, undo that and get the version used before. If it's a licensing issue, reinstalling the program may fix things. For anything else we would need much more detailed info like system specs and otehr details.
