Cursor Deviation in wordprocessing document

The word processing application of my appleworks developed a problem. The cursor position, and the position that it effects on the line of type do not correlate exactly as it did prior to a few months ago.
As data is entered on a line, the farther you proceed from the left margin, the farther the cursor deviates from the actual position. The cursor is positioned correctly at the left margin, but lags behind the text further and further from the correct insertion point as you type.

My problem is the same but it has a different cause. I've done all the things suggested in this thread but the problem persists. Experimentation showed that it has to do with the Font Smoothing option, NOT the Fractional Character Widths, for me.
AND it only seems to happen with the Geneva font!
I happen to hate font smoothing, especially with a well-designed, very crisp font like Geneva. Sure, it's old fashioned... but it's still supposed to work the way it's supposed to work, right?
When I have font smoothing enabled, Geneva works fine (but looks terrible, IMHO). When I click, the insertion point goes exactly where I expect it to go. The left and right arrow keys work as expected.
But as soon as I turn font smoothing off, the Geneva text string changes its width, and clicking no longer puts the insertion point where expected. My guess is that the insertion point is blinking where it would blink if the text string were displayed with font smoothing. Apparently the font smoothing algorithm is not communicating with the insertion-point-determining algorithm.

How do I start a Wordprocessing document in P5

I am trying to create a bookm in Pages 5, on Mavericks.
The only way I see to do this at present is to use the information here, http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4168 which is the Best Practice instructions for creating an ePub. Loading the sample iknto Pages 5 - it asks to convert or work on a copy - and going from there.
However, in the instructions, it says that one must start with a Wordprocessing Document. How do I do this. There doesn't appear to be such a template in the list of templates, and nothing I do seems to allow me to create anything that specifically indicates it's a wordprocessing document, and not just another layout.
In addition to this, I can't seem to get Pages to set up a TOC. I know I'm missing something important here, but surely it's not that difficult.
Most instructions are for the Pages 09 version, which of course - don't apply. There don't appear to be any tutorials yet for P5.
So in short.
How do I create a Wordprocessing Document? (Which I can then save as a templete...)
How do I create a TOC in P5?
How do I tell P5 I don't want a TOC - (so that when I export the document to ePub format, it won't insert a bogus one right on the first page.)

The template for ePub is for Pages 09 as are the instructions on that particular web page.
Have you tried looking in the Help for Pages 5? Here is the link to that particular subject when searching for ePub.

You have the option to get to the online help in Pages 5 Help menu.
If you have Pages 09 I suggest you use that app for your ePubs.

I have been using Pages and after sleeping it will not show a cursor in a new document. Using Lion

I was using Pages, put the computer to sleep, and after waking it and going to Pages, it would not show a cursor in a blank document and most of the commands were grayed out.

It seems that when you woke up you were in a Pages Layout Template, rather than the word processing template you are more accustomed to.

Something is causing Word to lock up. Restart the laptop and/or reinstall Office/Word to fix the instability. Maybe even a bad plugin or document could be causing this if it's only happening when you open a particular doc.

My pages stopped scrolling with cursor keys after upgrading to 5.0, the cursor moves WITHIN html documents and "jumps" from frame to frame and character to character within the frame.

Recently, I noticed that google search pages stopped scrolling. There is an "right arrow" at the beginning of each link. When I press the cursor "up/down" arrow on the keyboard, the cursor jumps from link to link. Also, while on any html webpage, the cursor moves one character at a time (left / right arrow) and one line at a time (up/down arrow) until the end of that frame is reached, it then jumps to the next frame.

I'm using the E72 which has an optical key and maybe this is causing it, but has anyone noticed that you're just walking along and instead of your present position the cursor shoots off to the side and fixes on a location even when you haven't touched anything?

You will need to use JavaScript. Look up the XMLHttpRequest object. You can make a javascript request to the server and read the response from the server into the page without reloading the page.

How to get the 'hand' cursor on an ALV drill down report?

I have a drill down on PO # going to trans ME23N that is working great.
But I have noticed on my other drill downs (E.G for billing doc VF03) that when the report is displayed the drill down field value is a) underlined and b) has a 'Hand' appear when you place the cursor over the billing document field.
This does not happen on my PO # - it is not highlighted with an underscore, nor do you get the small hand - but it does work when you double click the field.
The field I am using on the ALV report is RSEG-EBELN. This is not a KEY field in the table - perhaps that is why it does not have the underscore and the 'hand'.

When you build your field cat use the below code.
DATA : x_fieldcat TYPE slis_fieldcat_alv.
* Single click on the field will trigger double click event.Also, a hand
* will appear when the cursor navigates to the field

How to get the current cursor position in word report?

I am generating a word report. But I would like to keep the table in one page. However, I did not find the way to do it in labview. Somebody would give me some suggestions? I appreciate a lot.
One way I think I can do is to find the current cursor position. Since I know the table size so I can figure out if the left space in the current page is enough to hold the table. But I do not know how to locate the curent cursor position in word document in labview programmatically. I appreciate any suggestions on this question.

Hi,
when you insert data in a word document you have to refer to bookmarks rather than cursor position.
If you are using the Report Generation Toolkit for Office it is explained in the manual chapter 3-1.
See also the example: Generate Report From Template (Word).vi included in the toolkit.
If you aren't using the toolkit, you still have to refer to bookmark as reference points to insert and/or fetch data.
The principle is:
- First create a document in which you insert bookmarks where you wish and save it as a template
- In LV open your template document and insert in it your data referring to bookmarks as insertion points
- At the end save your report with another name, so you still have the template

How do I insert checkboxes into a Pages document?

I have been trying to insert checkboxes into a document I created using Pages version 2.4.2 on my iPad Air. I would like an actual checkbox (not just the image of an empty box) so that a checkmark will appear once it has been selected. I am able to do this with the "Numbers" app, but I cannot copy and paste those check boxes to a Pages document.
I want to use this document as a form I can easily access and print with checkboxes. I have only found a way to insert bullets, but not checkboxes that you can click on with your finger and a check mark appears in the checkbox.

I think you are misunderstanding "Insert text at cursor". The ANNOTATIONS are not text editing tools, rather they are tools for people making comments to "mark up" documents. You use "Insert text at cursor" to tell the document author you want HIM OR HER to insert text at that point; the author reviews all the comments and changes the original.
You need to use one of the OTHER methods mentioned to actually add text. Probably simplest is the typewriter tool, which in Acrobat X is under TOOLS > CONTENT and is called ADD OR EDIT TEXT BOX.

Drawing directly in the document window

Can anybody provide sample code showing the basics of drawing directly in the document window? I'm thinking of something along the lines of the measure tool (pardon the pun).
It looks like I'm supposed to use either the Annotator Suite or the Document View Suite to "invalidate" a rectangle in the document, followed by doing the actual drawing with the ADMDrawer Suite. But the documentation in this area is pretty sparse (for example GetDocumentViewInvalidRect and SetDocumentViewInvalidRect refer to a "fudged" invalid rect without explaining what that is) and I don't see anything in the Sample Code folder that explains this feature.
Are the little text annotations ("path" "anchor") that pop up when using Smart Guides done using this method?

But hey, I'll keep posting, if only for my own amusement, about my saga of writing a plug-in.
I figured out some of the annotation stuff, but I'm still puzzled by some things.
I started by simply trying to create a tool which would carry a 100x100 box around with it when moved on the screen -- no clicking or dragging yet -- much as the symbol sprayer, for example, has a nice circle (albeit of varying size) around it. I created the tool and added it as an annotator. When it receives a kSelectorAITrackToolCursor message, it simply captures the cursor location in a global and sets the PlatformCursor. When the tool receives a kCallerAIAnnotation message, I have this code:

This (should) convert the cursor location (in artwork coordinates) to screen coordinates, set the annotation boundaries based on this location, create the drawer reference, and draw the 100x100 rectangle within this reference. Finally, it invalidates this rectangle as per the Annotation suite documentation.
I fired up the tool in Illy 10 and saw a single box created down at the 0, 0 point on the page. No box followed the cursor. Hmm. I added an sADMBasic->Beep() to the annotation code and realized what was happening -- my tool was getting an annotation message when first selected, but none when it was merely moved around the screen.
After some futzing around I discovered that if I added a call to sView->SetDocumentViewInvalidDocumentRect in the TrackToolCursor code, I got an annotate message every time the mouse was moved! I captured the previous cursor position and invalidated the rectangle 50 points on all sides from it. and tried again. Success -- partially.
At this point, the cursor could be moved around with the box following it. It suffers, however, from the following bugs:
1) The SetDocumentViewInvalidDocumentRect is in artwork coordinates and so only works at 100% or greater. If I zoom out, my little box leaves trails all over the screen. In addition, if I zoom in, the cursor stutters noticeably -- I assume because Illustrator is forcing a redraw on large portions of the document. I think I can fix both these bugs by recalculating the SetDocumentViewInvalidDocumentRect into screen coordinates. However I note that the circle of the symbol sprayer can be made huge -- as large as the screen -- and it still moves smoothly. So maybe calling sView->SetDocumentViewInvalidDocumentRect is not the way to force annotations. But I haven't been able to discover another way.
2) When the mouse moves into a palette, the square remains "hung up" at the last position where the cursor was in the document window. I think I can fix this by utilizing the Suspend and Resume notifiers and doing one last InvalAnnotationRect when I get the Suspend notification.
3) For fun I tried clicking and dragging. Bad news. If I do this, thereafter the entire Illustrator window only redraws iself in the small rectangle that was set when I created the drawer port. By chance I found that if I use another tool that annotates such as the pencil *before* I use my tool, then everything is fine (although of course the box doesn't follow the cursor around anymore because my toolMouseDrag code is empty). How is using a previous tool "fixing" my code? I don't understand this one at all.
Anyway, I suppose I could fork over a wad of cash and join the ADN and purchase a support case -- but hey, I'm just a hobbyist messing around at this point and facing some rather crappy documentation. Any tips will be much appreciated.

I also had this problem on a Mac and I found the following solution.
1. I draw my cursor with Resorcerer.
2. In Resorcerer, I select my CURS resource then I click the Hex button. In the window, I select and copy the column named Hex Data.
3. I past the result in TextEdit.
4. I launch a little application I did with AppleScript to convert the text in the good format to b used with XCode and Illustrator CS4
Here is my little application to convert a text in TextEdit to the gool format.
Maybe, this will be useful…
If there is a better solution, I am intersted.

Cursor will not go between divs

I have dreamweaver open in design view, it has two block
level divs. I want
to put the cursor between them to add a title to one of the
divs, but DW
will not let me do this. Arrow key, tabbing, etc just takes
me from one div
to the other. Using teh mouse to click between the divs
simply does nothing.
It seems ridiculous to me that an editor this expensive and
popular can't
even allow you to do something so basic. Does anybody know
how to overcome
this (without going in to code view, placeing the cursor in
there, and
coming back to design view) I am in 30 day trial at the
moment and can
safely say that DW is not for me if it can't let me control
where I want to
type.

This gets pretty annoying when I have multiple documents up in their own windows - and moving my cursor over any other document in the background will select it - virtually not allowing me to get any image editing done.

Bussiness logic/technical flow for report with tcode MB5B

Guys,
Please send me any Functional Spec or Technical Spec of the standard SAP report with tcode MB5B ( Stock as on posting date). Any document explaining logic or technical flow is very much useful to me..I need to understand the logic and what are all the underlying tables used. I will assign more points to anyone who help me.

MB5B - Stock on posting date
The report Stock for posting date lists a company's own stocks in a particular time period (earliest date/Time 00:00, latest date/time 24:00).
The posting date is used for selection. Note that the posting date may be different from the entry date (date entered in the system) as well as the document date.
Starting with the current stock balance, the report uses the material documents to calculate the stock balance for the specified posting date.
Requirements
You need authorization to display material documents for all chosen plants (authorization object Material documents: plant, activity 03).
Output
Thisreport issues a list with the following information for each material:
Stock quantity and stock value on first date
Total and value of all receipts
Total and value of all issues
Stock quantity and stock value on last date
List of the material documents that were posted in the specified time period
To go to the detail screen for the material document item, place the cursor on a material document and choose Goto -> Document item
If you require more data and want a detailed evaluation, you can enhance the current layout or choose another existing layout via Settings -> Layout.

Static Credit check at Sales Order for confirmed quantity only.

Dear All,
I am facing two problems and would really appreciate if you could give some inputs on it.
If a SO is of 100 tons and the confirmed quantity is 10 tons then the credit check is happening for the value of confirmed quantity only as per the requirement.
1. But after releasing the SO using VKM3 I have to carry availability check again in the sales order as the confirmed quantity is becoming zero. Pls tell me how to control this, the confirmed qty should not change.
2. If I increase the confirmed quantity to more than 10 still the system is allowing me to create the delivery without blocking for credit check again as I had released the SO credit for value of 10 tons goods only .

1) T-code OV27- You have not maintained confimation block here.
2) T-code OVA8- Select the credit settings and double click it.You get Display View "View for maintenance of automatic credit control" .
Maintain the deviation in "released documents still unchecked" section.
