Cursor engages bookmarks too fast and I can't get past the first few folders.

This may be a Mac OS X 10.5 problem and not a Firefox 6.0, but I can not locate anything to slow down the response time in which the cursor engages a folder or bookmark (immediately upon passing over) (and throwing up a window that I have no intention of viewing). I can not get past that spot in the bookmark scroll, as releasing or moving the cursor only works within the folder (politics/travel/etc.).
Thank you for any help in resolving this speed thing!

My middle-click is set to "Enter".
Option to enable use of Ctrl-click (Meta-click on Mac) as an additional alternative to middle-click. Handy for laptop computers and those who have set their middle-mouse button system-wide to another function instead of the default 'middle-click'.

Sure, you can get around it if you don't need the newest version of iTunes. I still use version 7.5 because the newer versions didn't strike me as offering anything I needed.
If you do need a version 10-something then you will have to upgrade your operating system to Leopard (fi your computer will support it) at least.  If you need 10.5 for some reason then there's no getting around it, you will have to buy a new computer.

Restart the Mac, and start over, it very well could be frozen. This is not the way you would like to start out your Mac experience!

I'm trying to process my first iPhoto order and I can't get past the fact it won't accept my telephone number. Thinking this may be a format glitch, I have tried to get around this by spacing but no success. I live in Australia and the prefix is +61.  Any suggestions welcome? Yours in frustration:( CW

Experiment - or search these forums - someone discovered a solution and it was a format issue
The US format for phone numbers is 10 digits  AAA-PPP-NNNN - you do not include the 01+ here typically - maybe if you can out your digites in that format it will work
Hopefully someone from down under will tell how they do it

    What specific KB?
    Do you know it works?
I set my 2103 nMP with an older (black) Apple USB KB and it worked fine

  • I verified my email, then went to sign in and I can not get past the Sign In.

I need some help. I made an account and verified my email. I then went to sign-in and a box pops up saying I need to review my account. I go back to review it and it takes me to the support page. In other words... I can not get past the Sign In.

Thanks, Andrew for your help.  Not sure if you will see this, but I did the above and it said the HD was okay.  Rebooted it and still won't go past login page.  Tried it again and this time typed in the line /sbin/fsck -fy and then it came up and said HD was okay, but said something about being modified.  I once more rebooted, but it still won't get past the login screen.  Besides taking long to reboot, as before, I am able to enter my password, but then it hangs up with the rainbow icon rotating continuously.  Does this mean that the disk is corrupt or partially so, and if so, can you advise how I should proceed?  TIA again.

  • I have turned on my phone this morning and it's asking for a pass code when I have never put one in and I can't get past the page help!

I have turned on my I phone this morning and it is asking for a pass code I have never used one and cannot get past the page can anyone help?

You won't get a reply on your email here. These forums are for users who want to help other users.
If you didn't buy your iPhone in your own country and you unlocked it to work in any way, you're out of luck.  If you accidentally setup a passcode check out this old discussion:

  • I am trying to reinstall an admin password and got completely locked out. I can't get past the first log in

I am trying to reset my admin password.  I think my computer was tampered with. I signed out completely and now, I am locked out.  I can't get past a black screen. I'm unsure of my operating system but I've had laptop about 2 years.

If you boot from your install DVD and, after choosing language, go up to the Apple bar and select utilities, you can restore you admin and firmware psswds. You will these options there. Do not choose a firmware psswd if you do not need this, you may complicate your life, especially if you forget it.
I do not understand how you changed the psswd and why you cannot log in, though. Did you forget the new psswd or why? What do you mean by ‘was tampered with’?

  • My new iMac had the old data transferred in-store but now it won't accept the password on the first screen. How can I reset this? I can't get past the first screen as a result.

I cannot get past the initial screen on my new iMac. Data was transferred from my old computer so when I turned it on It automatically had my name in the window and asked for the password, but none of my old passwords seem to be accepted. How can I fix this?? It's a new IMac with osx.

Which password isn't working? The one to access the iPad or the one to get your hotmail?
If hot mail, you go into the settings, mail, contacts and calendars and edit your hot mail account. Of if it won't edit, delete it off the iPad, then re-add it with the new password.

  • I upgraded to 6.0 and now can't get past the Q/A screen to get to my inbox.

When I click on my Firefox desktop icon I go to a page that congratulates me for upgrading to 6.0. From there I cannot get to my email. I'm a technophobe and it's probably simple, but I don't
need that initial page anymore. I want access to my email!

I've got the same issue on two different iPhones. Mine, an original 8GB version and my wifw's, a newer 3G. I downloaded and installed 3.0 OS last night on mine and did same this morning for my wife's phone......both have the same issue....cannot initiate or respond to test messages....have to "clear" previous conversations before the keyboard allows message typing and sending....hard to agree with assessment that I need to retore to factory and reload on both sets because it didn't load properly the first time....a little too coincidental but I'll give it a try.

  • Brand new hard drive and still can't get past the gray screen

i was having problems with my mac last night going to the gray screen, sometimes i'd get the folder with the question mark. i looked up for solutions and i tried every one i could find short of reformatting the hard drive. nothing worked, getting the start-up disk causes the mac to freeze on the screen with the picture of a disk and an arrow after i press the arrow to go into disk utilities. i took it to the apple store, which i wasn't really happy with my service there- i was called up immediately but then was never able to explain  what was happening to the guy he just plugged in the computer, went back to helping someone else and periodically looked at my screen. i understand that they probably take care of multiple people at once so they don't get complaints about wait times, but i don't think i was really helped at all, he just ended up saying that i needed a new hard drive and if i knew how to put one in i was better off doing it myself then sent me on my way. well i bought a new hard drive and upon installing it and putting in the mac os x disk it still freezes and no solution has worked yet.

So all you need then is to know how to format the drive and install Snow Leopard.

  • Just reset tiger but can't get past the first welcome screen

I'm loading up my MacBook Pro after resetting it to factory settings without a disk. It loads up to a welcome screen after a little animation of languages and it says 'to begin select the country or region you're in, then click continue'
But there are no languages to select. The box is empty and obviously I can't continue until I click on something.
Anyone had this issue or is it just me?

Possibly, make sure it's the Retail version though.

  • I tried to master reset my I pod touch, now all I have is a apple skull with a flame on its head I am trying to sync and I can not get past the apple with a flame

I bought my daughter an I pod touch 3 gen. I tried to do a master reset so I could sync it with my Itunes account. After resetting, all that is showing is an apple that looks like a skull with a flame on top. Does anyone know what I am supposed to do so I can sync it?

Master reset...? Your device was jailbroken prior to you purchasing the device. The only symbol you should see on reboot is an Apple symbol. Download redsnow... google it! Download the latest version and your IPSW (ipod restore firmware) it has to be the correct version. And the "just boot tethered" should fix your device.
But that's only if you didnt back the device up. If you don't care about any of the data on the ipod then you can simply open itunes navigate to the device and click the restore button. This will restore the ipod firmware and install a fresh copy. Good luck let me know if you have any problems.

  • Have brand new iPad 2 16G 3G and can't get past the first screen saying 'connect to iTunes' even though the usb is connected to my computer which has iTunes downloaded. We bought 3 iPads and I configured my sons ok but the other 2 are not working.

If that doesn't work the OP could try the suggestions in this knowledge base article:
