Cursor in Safari disappears when watching Flash Content

This problem persists since the last 3 versions of Safari - problem is: When you come over a site which displays Flash Content (for example www.flickr.com slideshows) after a short time the mouse cursor completely disappears - hovering over the menus seems to indicate, that you can click but since the cursor is not showing it's hard to identify, where you are. Workaround is to switch to another application, there the cursor is visible and you can quit the browser (Safari, Chrome ...)
The latest Flash Plugin is installed, i tried this on different browsers (Firefox, Chrome ...) - it's always the same problem.
I don't want to deinstall my Flash Plugin because there are a lot of sites which are not viewable without the Flash-Plugin - i've been reading lots of discussions here in the Apple Support Communities but there is no fix - the first entries were made about 2 years ago.
Maybe someone has found a fix now.

My cursor does not disappear when watching full screen movies

I have a rMBP running Mountain Lion, everything is up to date. Like I said when watching full screen videos my cursor arrow does not dissapear. I am new to OSX so is this normal or do I have my settings set up wrong. Its not a huge deal, just getting more annoyed with each video, thanks for your help.

I have the same problem, but in addition, if the cursor doesn't disappear completely the video control menus stay glued to the bottom of the full screen. I may have to switch back to my pc to watch.....

No Sound when viewing Flash content in Safari for Windows

Hopefully someone can help.
Just recently, I've been unable to get sound when viewing Flash content on the web.
I currently use Safari for Windows, when I use Internet Explorer on the same computer I can get sound. Just no sound when using Safari for Windows????
Please help, I like Safari for Windows much better than I.E. but I'm forced to use IE when I want to watch something with sound.

Macbook Pro Late 2008 gets real hot when viewing Flash Content. Does anyone have a solution?

Macbook Pro Late 2008 gets hot, fans kick on at 6200 rpm, and CPU usage of about 65% when viewing Flash Content. I've been to the Adobe Forum, but saw no solution for this. Already unchecked Hardware Acceleration. I had motherboard replaced just a week ago, so that's not the issue. I hope someone can help.

Folio images disappear when viewed in content viewer

Hi, I am currently having a problem with most of the pdf images in the folio disappearing when viewed in content viewer on the iPad.
I'm using Adobe CS5.5 in layouting the folio.
Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Thanks.

If the images are visible when previewing through Folio Preview option, try reinstalling Folio producer tools and Folio builder Panel and reinstall Adobe content viewer. That might fix this.

Same issue for a year now with watching Flash content, nothing has changed

One of my main gripes about Safari, is that while I am watching a flash movie in one safari window and have another safari window open typing, doing work etc., the flash video stutters in the first window (looks like it is evenly dropping frames incrementally) . Sound is fine, no prob there.
It doesn't matter what flash video it is, from whatever site, it will always do this... and it is very annoying. When using Safari, do I really have to be using one open window, while watching the Falsh content so it is smooth like it was designed to be?
Now on the other hand i do not have this problem in Firefox. I can have two windows open, one playing flash content and I will have it sized down in the left hand corner of my screen, and have another window open which I am typing in, and have no reduciton in quality...whatsoever.
I have tried everything possible, I am not a new mac user , and I am familiar with every suggestion one would suggest here as a starting point. Regarding, Permissions, trashing folders, resarting, re-installing combo updates, un-installing flash, re-installing flash; etc, etc.

Thanks for the the speedy reply. And thank you for all your suggestions about standard plugins and the current plugins now available to the user. I am familiar with them, etc. i have also restarted,
"repaired premissions" etc. Yes, I am current in OS, Flash, all plugins you speak of, etc. Combo update has been re-applied, flash un-installed, then re-installed...etc, etc..
I have attemped everything you speak of, and everything I can come up with, but there is no change in my problem.
Can you do something for me? I want you to go onto the youtube website, pick a video to watch and and with only one safari window open, I want you to leave some room on top of browser window so you can see your desktop. Now move your cursor over your desktop, and click on the desktop - which will activate the finder, and Safari will no longer be the chosen app. Do you see the difference in picture quality in the safari window hosting the flash video?
Try it again. Click on the Safari window, then back to the desktop. Vice versa. Everyone I know I have showed this too , sees the obvious difference. My mother says, well I can see what you are talking about, but it doesn't bother me...well, my mother is pretty old, so she doesn't count.
Well, for me The picture quality starts to drop frames evenly through the whole entire video.
Firefox does not do this.

for I have recently re-installed this OS,
and the problem still exists. I am very familiar with updates,
and the like. All the usual suggestions have been applied.
And, If this is just the way it is in Safari, I can live with that...I mean, i live with the memory leaks that it has, and other quirks about it. But, If this is a unique problem , then ..well, I have a problem

Safari stucks when displaying flash

I'm very new to Mac and did my first system update ever yesterday. But then I opened Safari and went to a website. I waited and saw the rainbow circle. I forced Safari to exit and tried to visit another website with Flash ads. Same situation. Well then I went to my Internet-plugins folder and deleted the flash files. After this I clicked on Safari and opened a website with flash content. It said to install Adobe's Flash. Well, I thought there would be a newer version of flash availaber on the Adobe website so I installed Flash again. Then I went to a website with flash content and Safari was the same like before uninstalling flash (err, I hate this word nowˆˆ).
For further information: I updatet to 10.6.6. Before the update Safari and Flash worked in harmony. Flash and Firefox haven't caused any problems yet.
I hope you understand my problem and can help me. :/

Thanks for the link, but as far as I can tell, it doesn't provide any useful information on the problem described in this thread. When you select Troubleshoot Flash Player | Mac OS X, you're presented with two options, specifically "The video or audio isn't working" and "I can't play my online game", and neither describe the situation being discussed here.
Although I confirmed that the 10.6.6 update has affected several of my computers in the aforementioned way, I haven't been able to identify why it's affecting some of my computers and not others given that all my systems were running the same version of Mac OS 10.6 and the newest version of Adobe's Flash Player.
I believe the Safari/Flash issue is being caused by the 10.6.6 update alone, and I hope either Adobe or Apple correct the problem the next time they update their respective software.

Sluggishness when viewing Flash contents

Im not sure when, but probably after I updated my Firefox
from v1.5 to 2.0, I experienced sluggishness whenever there's Flash
contents in websites.
I realised the quality is set to high by default. And that
caused the sluggishness. How to configure the quality setting so
that I can change it to Medium as default? Because whenever I
change manually by right clicking on the flash content as set it to
'medium', if i close the broswer and reopened (or even refresh the
page), the quality flash content is set to high again as default.

This isn't just an issue with FF2. I have experienced this
issue on both FF 1.0.5 and 1.5.
The more flash content, the worse FF responds.

Browser crash when printing flash content

I am posting this here because I scoured the web looking for an answer and did not find one.
OS: 10.4.11
Browser: Safari 4.1.2, Firefox 3.6.11
Problem:
Any time I try to print flash content, for example, games or printables from PBSkids.com, my browser would go to the spinning beach ball and crash. Issue affected Safari and Firefox.
Latest version of Flash was installed 10.1.x
Fix: Downgraded to Flash 9. Problem solved am once again able to print flash content such as the examples above.

If Safari is crashing, post a crash report so we can try and help.
If Safari has just crashed, press the Report button on the CrashReporter dialog box to view the crash information.
Now copy/paste the entire contents of the Crash Reporter window into your reply here. If the crash report dialog does not appear or the crash is hard to reproduce, crash logs can be retrieved from the ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter> folder.

Macbook Pro Dock doesn't disappear when watching a fullscreen youtube video?

The Dock should hide itself after a few seconds when watching a full screen video but IT DOESN'T. It really is ******* me off, any answers?!?!

When watching a video full screen make sure the cursor is no where near the bottom of screen, the Dock area.
Double check your Dock settings.

How to prevent physical memory filling up and crashing Firefox (22.0) when watching Flash-based videos?

This happens maybe 30-50% of the time when I watch a video online, whether it be on YouTube or other streaming site. This usually happens when the video is at least 20 minutes long, and about 8-9 minutes in.
Looking at the Task Manager, my memory fills up to nearly its max (3.8-3.9 GB out of 4 GB) for a while before Firefox crashes. How can a video that is not very high definition take up that much physical memory space? After Firefox crashes, the RAM used immediately drops back below 1 GB.
Is this a Flash bug or a Firefox bug/leak? Or maybe my browser customization is at fault? It does not happen on Chrome.

Well, doomsdaze's rant didn't help solve my problem, but it actually makes me feel better about switching to Chrome.
Yes, I switched browsers, set up all-new extensions and settings, and accepted other inconveniences because I couldn't watch videos in peace on Firefox.
I had no idea there were so many others with this problem!

First, don't post these long crash logs. Hardly anyone here knows how to interpret them so they just take up space.
You have two choices: 1. uninstall Flash; 2. Install Flash 10.3.181 and hope for the best.

Nouveau crashes occasionally when loading flash content

Hey everyone,
Still fairly new to the whole Arch Linux business. I've been having occasional issues with my computer crashing when I try to view flash (such as YouTube videos). It happens once in a while but it's annoying and happens sometimes when I'm in the middle of work. It usually happens when I loads up from the start. The screen just freezes, unresponsive to key commands, mouse movements, etc. Can't kill X. I have to hard restart/shutdown.
Journalctl gives the following errors (usually nonstop until I restart):

I have this installed currently:
nouveau-dri 10.1.0-4
xf86-video-nouveau 1.0.10-2
I'm running a Lenovo w530. I use Firefox.
Anyone know how I can resolve this issue or dig deeper? I reverted to nouveau after the nvidia drivers were acting up and crashing occasionally on flash. Now it seems like nouveau is doing the same thing. I'm worried about fubaring my system from so many hard resets, esp. since I have a SSD. Can't seem to find much on this error on the internets or the forums...

Try the 'nouveau.noaccel=1' kernel command line option, to see if that at least prevent the failure.
Or try the proprietary driver from Nvidia again.

Safari disappears when I set parental controls

I have set up accounts for my children with parental controls but the accounts do not have access to Safari. I have checked the Safari box in preferences but a big question mark appears where the icon should be. Can you help?
