Cursor in screen painter

How to move the cursor to next field in scree painter?
scenario:
I have validate 'Employer Id' field by using field er_id module m1
module m1 input.
select * from employer where er_id = er_id
if sy-dbcnt <> 0.
message e000
else
> Here I want to move to next field,if it is valid er_id(not existing one)
set cursor to 'er_name'.--->its not working

A few dot points:
1. You don't need the cursor on the field to validate it.
2. There's no need for the "else" for the "if sy-dbcnt <> 0." as the "e000." will prevent the program going further e.g.
if sy-dbcnt <> 0.
message e000. "explain what the message says in the comments
endif.
*" now check the name field:
if er_name is initial. "blank provided
set cursor field 'ER_NAME'.
message e398(00) with 'Employee name must be provided'
space space space.
endif.
4. You can have a "set cursor" in the PBO logic if you want to have the cursor start in a field other than the first of the screen.

Table view control problem in screen painter

i am unable to display the contents in the table view control in screen painter....actually i have created two screen one to take input and second to display details on next screen in table view control..but i m nt getting that details...

Scrolling in Screen painter -

Hello All,
We have created a new screen in screen painter which is of the size 68 X 134 and requires scrolling to get to bottom part of the screen. Once I scroll and bring those fields in the middle of the screen and enter data in one field ( drop down list in this case ), the field is moved back to the bottom line on the screen and requires me to scroll again.
I did use set cursor and it does move the cursor to that field but I loose all the scrolling and fields on the following lines require me to scroll again. These are different fields and there is no TAB control in this situation.
Please let me know if you have suggestions for this problem.

·        Screen number
A four-digit number, unique within the ABAP program, that identifies the screen within the program. If your program contains selection screens, remember that the screen numbers of selection screens and Screen Painter screens both use the same namespace. For example, if you have a program with a standard selection screen, you may not create any further screens with the number 1000. Lists, on the other hand, have their own namespace.
·        Screen type
- A normal screen occupies a whole GUI window.
- Modal dialog boxes only cover a part of a GUI window. Their interface elements are also arranged differently. - Selection screens are generated automatically from the definition in the ABAP program. They cannot be generated using the Screen Painter.
- A subscreen is a screen that you can display in a subscreen area on a different screen in the same program.
·        Next screen
Statically-defined screen number, specifying the next screen in the sequence. By entering zero or leaving the field blank, you define the current screen as the last in the chain. If the next screen is the same as the current screen, the screen will keep on calling itself. You can override the statically-defined next screen in the ABAP program.
·        Cursor position
Static definition of the screen element on which the cursor is positioned when the screen is displayed. By default, the cursor appears on the first input field. You can overwrite the static cursor position dynamically in your ABAP program.
·        Screen group
Four-character ID, placed in the system field sy-dyngr while the screen is being processed. This allows you to assign several screens to a common screen group. You can use this, for example, to modify all of the screens in the group in a uniform way. Screen groups are stored in table TFAWT.
·        Holding data
If the user calls the screen more than once during a terminal session, he or she can retain changed data as default values by choosing System
Layout Editor
We use layout editor to place screen element in screen layout. There are two modes in editing layout: Graphical and alphanumeric. Both modes offer the same functions but use different interfaces. In graphical mode, you use a drag and drop interface similar to a drawing tool. In alphanumeric mode, you use your keyboard and menus. It is easier to work in graphical mode, to toggle beetween this mode, in SE51 go to: Utilities->Settings: in screen painter tabs check graphical layout editor.
Layout editor contains these tools:
i. Element pallete
On left screen you will find list of element (textbox, label, checkbox) you can use. Drag and drog element to put it on screen.
ii. Name & Text
Aftef put element on screen, write its name and text (in textbox, text will set default value).
iii. Attributes Window
Double click the element to display its attributes, or select it then click :Goto->Secondary window->attributes. For example, in textbox element, we can set its length, read only mode, in this window.
iv. Dictionary/program field.
If we want to create a field refer to field in data dictionay or field already declared in program, use this menu to create text field with the same type compared to its referral.

Error while opening a screen painter

Hi all,
I am trying to modify a screen in SE80. But when i am clicking on the screen painter it shows 'EU_SCRP_WN32 : timeout during allocate / CPIC-CALL: 'ThSAPCMRCV'
Message no. 37033. Please let me know how to resolve this issue. Thanks a lot for your help!

For the Future Problem Facers:
I too faced the same problem and the below steps helped me.
Re: SFLIGHT is NOT defined for the current logical database.
You can check the completeness of the program installation by starting the program gneux.exe locally in the SAPGUI directory (for example, by double-clicking on the program name in the Explorer window).The Layout Editor is displayed with German texts and an empty drawing area for the pseudo screen EUSPDYND 0000.
If the installation is not complete, an error dialog box provides information regarding the cause of the error, for example, sometimes the DLL eumfcdll.dll is missing after reinstalling the SAPGUI. For example, the eumfcdll.dll DLL was sometimes missing after the SAPGUI was reinstalled.

F4_FILENAME in search help in screen painter

Hello gurus,
I want to design a screen in which the text input field is used to get file name. For that i need to enable file search in local folders and drives with f4 key press. I wish to use the functionality of function module 'F4_FILENAME" in screen painter. How can i do that?
I tried creating search help for RLGRAP structure. It compiles fine but gives the message 'No inout for selection'.

1. In se38, i created program zprogram.
2. In se51, i created a screen for the program zprogram.
3. In layout, i took 2 buttons and one input/output field.
1st button for import and 2nd button for exit.
4.In flow logic-

To get Drop Drown Box on screen .
Follow these steps.
1.
Go to T.Code SE51 and Select Laypout for the Screen.
2.
Double click on the field for which u want Dropdown box.
3.
Then U will see Name ,Text ,DROPDOWN.Click on that and select List Box or ListBox with key . Better to to select first one.
4.
Save and Activate ur screen .
5.
Enter the following piece of code in the PBO of the screen.(Change for ur requirement).

create input field for DATE and TIME on screen.ex. DATE1 and TIME1 are screen field names .
2.
Just assign SY-DATUM to DATE1 and SY-UZEIT to TIME1 under PROCESS BEFORE EVENT.
3.How to create text box for giving comments?
1.
Define one variable in the TOP include with type STRING means Global variable.
2.
Create one input field by giving screen field name which u have defined in the above step.
4.How to store the records that we are entering in a table?
For this case.. Create one table control. you can select one record and create record in the Z table by pressing button on Application toolbar..
Check the following steps to handle Table control.
1).
U should take one variable in your internal table or in structure which
is used for table control fields

If you want to Delete some of the records from Table control
follow this code Create one pushbutton and give Fucnction code to that

Is it possible to display the standard function keys in screen painter

Hi ,
I design a screen in se51 where I use push buttons and input/output buttons and so on in the layout, here in the layout or in my final output screen(when i assign this screen to a transaction) I would like to display other standard keys, ie the function keys and application toolbar items. I would like to know whether there is a possibility to do this , if yes then how?
In a menu painter there is a possibility where I can customize the keys or I can use the standard keys by going to se41 extras->adjust template. Is there similar possibilities in the screen painter.

T-code SE51. In the screen painter, you can define the following interface elements with their associated attributes.

Create a Z program in tcode SE38.
Go to transaction SE51.
Enter the created program name and screen number.

How to read the contents of Input Field created via Screen Painter?

Hi All,
I have a module program / dialog program, on my second screen, I created an input/outbox field via screen painter of course,
now in my PAI, how can I read the contents of the input/outbox field?
Let's say the name of my input/outbox field is: P_WEKRS. Note: Get Parameter and Set Parameter is ticked.

I want to get the value of the input/outbox field before my loop in table control? I thought that it will work like normal parameter in non-dialog programs.
