Cursor is erasing/distorting text/everything when scrolling

I just installed 2 1tb HD's in my G5 tower. No biggie.
I installed Leopard in one and and migrated from the old HD.
I am having issues with my cursor.
Whenever i scroll it distorts, erases, moves text, images whatever it comes across.
Tried the mighty mouse and a wireless. same thing.
Tried repairing disk permissions and repairing disk. No problems found.
Any ideas???

Same text distortion problem! After I just installed Leopard. I had the same thing happen on Tiger which was installed on two separate drives! One was fine and the other one did this same "text distort and replicate" problem and would leave white boxes (when scrolling down through screened backgrounds). Now I have installed Leopard on a clean formatted drive and its back! If I click and drag over it-it re-renders the text back to normal. Both versions of Tiger are updated the same to 10.4.11
I have read discussions of MacBookPro owners who thought it was a problem specific only to there laptops but it is clearly wider spread than that. It is a minor but extremely annoying glitch to work with.........I hope somebody figures it out!

Web Text Brightens when scrolling

Hi all - I am a new Macbook Pro (non-retina) owner. Have noticed that when I scroll in Safari/google/web pages etc, any coloured text brightens a bit when I scroll - this is quite off-putting. Any ideas how to stop, or is it just the way it is? My iphone and old windows laptop have never done this.

That's a know solved bug. You must install AS10g patchset 9.0.4.2.
For me it solved the problem.

Text jumping when scrolling

I use Gurmikhi font to display some Gurmukhi text in my JTextPane. But when I scroll the text, some of the letters are made bigger than they are and the font semms to be jumping. How can I render the text properly? Help me, please. Without scrolling everything seems ok.

Preview erases my text input when saving PDF

I'm filling out some pdf forms but when I press save all of my input text disappears.
Any info on this?

(At least in the USA's copyright laws, there is something called "Fair Use" that lets you do things that would otherwise be prohibited. To deny any form of Fair Use is to deny a protected right, which could get into legal challenges.)

Cursor distorts text and GUI widgets

Hello!
Recently, my display began bahving weird. It looks like the cursor has some distortion around it, and when I move it on text or menus or buttons, it distorts them (duplicates some pixels, erasing others, it hard to describe). I don't know what causes that, and I tried to restart, change resolution and settings.
Any ideas? What else can I do?

I don't know what's going on here, but one thing to do is to go to Universal Access and make sure everything is turned off. Sometimes these features get turned on by accident and cause weird problems. I don't know if this might be the Zoom or something else, but it's a place to start.

Cursor dissappears when scrolling

I can see how it would be a desireable feature to have the cursor dissapear when you are scrolling down a page and don't want it to block text. However it can be a PITA at times. Is there a setting somewhere that will diable this feature so that the cursor always displays even when scrolling? (exanmple, when I use the up/down arrows to scroll through a web page, the cursor dissappears until I move it).

Bumping just in case someone might know a fix.

Safari flashes white boxes when loading pictures or video, distorts text

Hi,
I have Safari 3.1.2 and a lot of times when I look at a photo on a flickr page, when the photo loads it flashes these annoying white boxes everywhere. And when I watch a youtube video it will flash white sections on them. Also, when I'm scrolling through an article, the lines will double up and distort. If I restart my computer it will adjust to normal, but the after a while it will start up again. I've singled the problem down to Safari because Firefox does not have this problem. I guess I could just use Firefox and say sayonara to Safari? Any advice?

I have exactly the same problem with browsers, iPhoto, and also text breaking up when scrolling up and down (in Mail, for instance). I also have a Macbook Pro (15", 2,4ghz, GeForce 8600M graphics).
I have heard about people taking the unit back to Apple and having the graphics card replaced, and some people talk about it being a video driver issue, but this has been going on for me since at least 10.5.2 (that's when I first noticed it as a problem) and if it's a software problem it's taking a long time to fix it!

Flash content distorts when scrolling and switching tabs.. since FF 13.0.1..

Please note from the System Details pane to this post that I have the latest flash, etc.
And Windows updates,are up to date.

Issue: Scrolling distorts flash player window (Youtube, hulu, etc.)
Since: FF 13.0.1 update in June. (I posted on the issue under "badly scrambled images".)
Problem is still there with FF 14.0.1
This distortion happens:
# even with just starting the browser (so no bloated cache)
# even with just only one or two tabs open.
And since last week's update to FF 14.01, I have also detected:
Switching to the the tab with flash content will "imprint" the image from the my previous tab on to the flash player. I have to scroll or refresh to get the flash player to show its content.
FYI, none of these flash player problems occur with IE9.
The advise from a regular contributor was to turn off hardware acceleration, but these did not solve this issue.:(
Solutions suggesting disabling all the plugins etc. have not solved the problem either.
So if you can tell me some other way to solve this, I will appreciate it.

Sorry, it took me a while to give feedback for the suggestions you have given here.
(Please refer to sidebar on the original post for system details.)
I have reset the profile and updated the Nvidia driver. The version of FF is 14.0.1. But it still scrambles the pictures.
On top of scrambling the flash content when scrolling, it has additional problems:
As you can see from the attached image, another tab's content is showing on the youtube flash player. This happens when I have paused the video even for a short time.
I have a suspicion that the combination of Flash and Firefox does some weird things to graphic processing and memory.
(I realize that IE implements Flash differently, but they seem to have this right.)
I might just have to say goodbye to Firefox for a while.

Possible to show bottom of scrolling text first when icon is displayed?

Does anyone know if it is possible to show the bottom of
scrolling text when the display comes up? For instance, let's say
you have 20 lines of text in a scrolling display, but it only has
room for 10. By default, Authorware shows the top 10 lines in the
scrolled display, not the bottom 10. I want to show the bottom
10--is this possible?

Well, I decided to have the most current information at the
top of the display. For instance, if it were a chat, the most
current chat info would be on top instead of on bottom. That fixed
the problem adequately.

Adobe Reader 9 highlights text when scrolling in terminal server

Running a terminal server with WIndow 2003. Have Adobe 9 Reader installed. When a pdf is opened, it will look correct. However, when one uses the scroll bar on the right to see more of the document, text can be highlighted and change colors constantly when scrolling.
Test it outside of terminal server and it works fine. This issue did not happen with other versions of Reader. I have attached two samples one clean and one highlighted.

Okay. Here is what I found. These settings are changed\saved under the User settings in the registry. Here is the key the changes are made to:
HKCU\Software\Adobe\Adobe Reader\9.0\Originals
When "NONE" is selected from Adobe Reader - Edit - Preferences - Page Display - Rendering, three DWORD values are added to the above mentioned registry key. These are:
Value Name - Value Data
*bAntialiasText - 0
benableDDR - 0
iAntialiasThreshold - 12*
I have added these lines to a login script that adds the necessary DWORD values to default the "Rendering" to NONE.

Why does added text disappear when I move the cursor

After adding text to an unprotected .pdf file the text disappears when I move the cursor and want to add a second box of text. The text in the first box reappears when I double click on the space where the box was. How do I set the text so that it remains visible and printable?

I think the data in the PDF file was filled-in using MAC preview.
One option is to ask the user to fill the file again using Adobe Reader or Acrobat.

Firefox 5: distortion when scrolling on all web pages; wavey appearance

There is distortion when scrolling on all webpages using Firefox 5. It doesn't matter how fast or slow the scrolling is, the screen becomes wavey until the scrolling stops. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox and that hasn't helped. This does not happen using Safari or in any documents or spreadsheets opened outside the Firefox browser.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode by Holding down the SHIFT key while Starting Firefox -> Safe Mode window will appear -> place Checkmark on 2nd option "Reset Toolbars and Controls" -> Click "Make Changes and Restart".
Check and tell if its working.

Position cursor in text field when form is opened

Another newbee question I'm afraid!
I want to position the cursor in a text field when a user opens the form. I can't find a way to do it but I'm pretty sure it's straightforward!
Also, can I remove fields from the tab order?

Hi,
You would select the object that you want to receive focus and put the following in the docReady event.
xfa.host.setFocus("this");
The docReady event is a good one to use, because it only fires once.
The tab order can be set in the Tab Order tab. Depending on the version of LC Designer that you have, the flexibility will vary. However I would do this as a last step, as any changes can throw the tab order out of sequence.
Note that tab order is greatly affected by the relevant x/y coordinates of objects and where objects are in separate subforms.

Distorted text when rendering

Hi everyone,
I'm totally new here and I've been trying to teach myself Premiere for a while, but have come across a snag that I can't seem to find the answer to.
I'm creating a tutorial for work and I have video screen captures that are 1440X868 AVI files. I need to create a tutorial video that is 1280X720. The problem is that when I render the project, the text appears distorted and unclear. I've tried using the Crop video effect by taking off 1.6% from L and R. I've also tried cropping the source file in the Export window and even adjusting the output to 1440X868, but it still seems to have distorted text. I think it's due to pixel aspect ratio (?)
I know there's an easy fix for this and I feel pretty stupid, but my deadline is coming up in a few days and I need to get this solved. The project settings are HDV 720p with frame size 1280X720. If anyone can help, it would be hugely appreciated!

Reset, hold at same time Home and Power buttons until the iPhone restarts itself. If you have a screen protector on, consider removing it.
